Understanding Emotions: Building Stronger Classrooms
Through Self-Awareness
"A teacher who understands emotions doesn't just educate minds—they
nurture lives." – Anonymous
At B D Blue
Bells Public School , we believe that emotionally empowered teachers create
emotionally secure classrooms. Under the aegis of ADEPT – A Program for
Enhancing Life Skills, powered by Wellnesswise.in, the school
conducted a recap session on Understanding Emotions for educators of
Grades III–VIII on July 15, 2026.
Designed under the
guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, the session reinforced the philosophy that
every emotionally intelligent classroom begins with an emotionally aware
educator. Through reflective discussions, experiential activities, role-plays,
and collaborative learning experiences, participants examined the science
behind emotions and their profound influence on thoughts, behaviours,
relationships, decision-making, and overall well-being.
Teachers explored practical strategies for
managing emotions with greater awareness, including mindful pausing,
perspective-taking, self-reflection, emotional regulation, and responding
thoughtfully rather than reacting impulsively. These simple yet powerful
practices reinforced how emotional intelligence strengthens personal well-being
while fostering healthier relationships with students, colleagues, and
families.
