EXCURSION TO MUGHAL GARDEN, NEW DELHI

The students of Class III  were taken for an excursion to Mughal Garden, New Delhi on Saturday, February 11, 2017. The President’s residence, Rashtrapati Bhavan, is renowned for its architecture and landscaping. The jewel in its crown is the wonderfully landscaped gardens located at the back side of the main building, known as the Mughal Gardens. The students saw the main garden designed with evergreen lawns, grass carpeting, tropical vegetation such as China Orange Trees, Rose Shrubs and a variety of climbers. They also saw musical fountains which rise up to a height of 12 feet when in operation. A huge variety of flowers like tulips, roses, lilies etc.

 The aim of the excursion was to create a sensitivity towards nature and also help the students understand the value of team building and working in groups. It was a rejuvenating experience for all.

A TRIP TO AERO PLANET

“Curiosity is the desire to learn. The more curious a child is, the more he learns.”

Nurturing children’s curiosity is one of the most important ways we can help them become lifelong learners. Keeping this in mind, a trip to Aero planet was organised for the students of Class IV on February 11, 2016. It was a thrilling experience for the children two big jet airplanes Airbus A 300 & CRJ 200. Each activity offered at the Aero Planet was full of fun and adventure. Flight safety demo was given to the students. Explanation of the cockpit was given by trained engineers. Children learnt how to use the safety belt, life jacket and oxygen mask during the flight. They were given an opportunity to ask questions and our prodigies astonished everyone with their questions. They engaged themselves in various physical activities like dry river crossing, Burma bridge crossing, rope climbing, etc. At the end, a quiz was conducted wherein the students who gave the correct answers were gifted tiny airplane mementos that added to their pleasure. Later, they had some refreshments and enjoyed dancing. It was a fruitful experience for the students.

THE SHOE PARTY FOR UKG STUDENTS

“Cinderella, very sad,

Her step- mom was mean and mad

Cleaning house from morning till night

Not a speck of dust in sight

Will her prince ever appear?

Yes, he’s got her shoe right here!”

In sync with the ongoing theme “Cinderella - Around the world “,a Shoe Party was organized for the students of class UKG on February 10, 2017 . The students were dressed in beautiful attire; each girl posed as Cinderella and boys as their Prince Charming.

This fun filled activity was conducted in the Activity Room .The entire room was embellished with balloons .The outer area was also well decorated and the entrance of the room was given the look of Prince’s Castle. A horse-drawn chariot and a clock about to strike midnight were the highlighting features.

The students entered the room with their peers, walked gracefully on the red carpet laid near the entrance area. The entire venue embodied the fairytale of Cinderella and the magical night when she met her Prince Charming. 

The students of all the  sections of UKG took turns to tap their foot to the tune of Ball dance music. Also,”A Lost Shoe Game” was played where one of the sandals of girls was hidden and their partners had to search for the lost sandal.

The students were very excited throughout the event and thoroughly enjoyed the activity.

TRIP TO  SUPERMARKET

“Education is not learning of facts, but the training of mind to think"

In a rapidly changing world, teaching students about managing money is very important. Teaching students about money management is critical for their personal development. Showing students the basics such as how to budget, spend and save will establish good money habits for life.

We at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School believe in all-round awareness and development of our students and strive to make them conscious of the world around.  In order to familiarize the students with the concept of money and  processes involved in shopping, buying, selling etc; students of classes I & II were taken to Spencer Supermarket, Palam Vihar, Gurgaon on February 9 & 10 , 2017 respectively. 

The students observed different coins and notes, understood their value and combined them to see how they can buy different items. They also  observed the process involved in shopping, buying, selling etc. It was an enriching experience for them to know about billing counters and cash transactions.

 Our little ones had a great learning experience which is always enhanced outside the walls of classroom.  This trip helped the students to collect specific examples that will substantiate their learning in the class. It also provided valuable qualitative and affective learning experiences which will encourage deeper thinking in the students.

The students were able to develop better understanding by observing the transactions. Through this trip the observation skills of the students were developed.

‘EDUCATIONAL EXCURSION TO BIRLA HOUSE & TEEN MURTI BHAWAN, NEW DELHI

“The advantage of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality”

Excursions and school trips are instrumental in giving hands –on experience to the students. Keeping this in mind an Educational Trip was planned for the students of Class V on Saturday , February 0 4, 2017 to Birla House and Teen Murti Bhawan, New Delhi . The students could effectively correlate their  learning of  Indian struggle for independence during their visit to both these places  . They could clearly understand the  principles that governed the life of these two iconic leader,  one Father of the Nation – Mahatma Gandhi and other the first Prime Minister of independent India –Shri. Jawahar Lal Nehru.

At Birla House , they were  mesmerized looking at the picture gallery showcasing the life of Mahatma Gandhi and India’s Struggle for Freedom .   The students  were amazed to see the  collection of number of mementos received by Pt. Nehru  from different countries of the world and felt proud of the glorious past  during their visit to Teen Murti Bhawan. 

It was a play way method adopted by the school to root  the students to the  rich heritage which further led to enrichment of their knowledge.  It was a learning experience for all.

BASANT PANCHMI CELEBRATED WITH GRANDEUR

The day of Basant Panchami is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of learning who bequeaths the greatest wealth to humanity, the wealth of knowledge.

The Blue Bells Family celebrated this pious occasion with utmost fervour and religiosity on February 1, 2017.The occasion was marked by a special presentation by the students that was embedded with prayers, hymns and offerings to the Goddess Saraswati. The students through their talk dedicated to goddess Saraswati highlighted about Hindu mythology that depicts Saraswati as a pristine lady bedecked with white attire, white flowers and white pearls, sitting on a white lotus, which blooms in a wide stretch of water. The Goddess also holds Veena, a string-instrument, like Sitar, for playing music. The choir group presented a prayer prayer of Sarasvati as, "Oh Mother Saraswati remove the ignorance of our mind and bless us all with the eternal knowledge.”

The festival was celebrated with full vivacity and festivity to mark the end of the winters. While reiterating the different moods of this festival, teachers were all dressed in yellow colour as Yellow color is given special attention and dominates everywhere on this particular day keeping atune with the ripened mustard. Yellow color is associated with Goddess Saraswati as well as the mustard crop. People wear yellow clothes; make yellow color sweets on the day of Saraswati Puja. The Goddess of art, learning, knowledge and wisdom, Maa Saraswati was worshipped with full dedication, enthusiasm and new sense of optimism.

FLAMMAE – FAREWELL & GOOD LUCK PARTY

Memories are the best way of holding on to the past while absorbing the future. Flamme – Farewell & Good Luck Party was organized by Class XI students to bid adieu and wish Class XII for a wonderful performance in coming Board Examination on  January 28, 2017. The occasion was graced by Dr. Suman Gulati, esteemed Director , Blue Bells Group Of Schools .Teachers and staff members who had always been a part of nurturing the students of class XII were also a part of this emotional moment. The peers dressed ethnically were welcomed  by their hosts, Class XI students who escorted them to the Sita Devi Memorial Multipurpose Hall  where a video and power point presentation reminiscing their momentous past was shown. The Farewell was embedded with different cultural programmes like Tilak Ceremony, Ganesh Vandana , Song, Street Play  and games  by the students of class XI. The Ceremony was conducted solemnly evoking mixed feelings of tear and joy.

Dr. Suman Gulati, blessed the students and  expressed her good wishes to the students to come out with flying colours and glitter like gems throughout their lives. Madam also asked the students to put in their best efforts to register magnificent success in the Board Examination and told that it was indeed an incredible moment as the Fifth batch of Class XII would be appearing for AISSCE 2016-17 and said, ““The indefatigable spirit that you have shown towards your school curriculum is phenomenal and it will help you carve yourself into a statesman of virtues. Stay blessed always!”

The highlight of the Celebration was the Fashion Show for Class XII where the students participated with utmost enthusiasm. They walked confidently on the ramp and answered the questions of the judges. The much awaited accreditation of Mr. BBPS and Ms. BBPS  was conferred to Hardik Khurana and Vatsala Sharma unanimously. Mr. Well Dressed and Ms. Well Dressed title was clinched by Gantavya Arora  and Sanchita Jain.  Ms. Anjali Nagpal, Principal of the school ,   took immense pleasure in honouring the achievers  with crowns and sashes amidst reverberating applause. This was a befiitiing close to  the pot pourri of alluring messages and symbolism imprinted forever in the memoirs of the school with the would be alumni savouring cuisines laid in their honour.

 All the faculty members wished them ‘All the best’ for their board examination and cheered them to move on into new portals of their ensuing journey. It was a fun filled but nostalgic evening for all the members.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

Republic Day reminds us of the fulfillment of the pledge that was made on the midnight of Independence as a ‘tyrst with destiny’. It is a future- oriented vision of India that we nourish, an acceptance of responsibility and making of promises as well as recapitulation of the achievements. To mark the importance of the day, Republic Day was celebrated in the School on January 25, 2017 with utmost zest & zeal. The entire school was soaked in patriotic fervour. The celebration was adorned by the gracious presence of Dr. Suman Gulati, revered Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools.  The celebration began with the inspection of the Parade and unfurling of Indian Tri colour in the sky by Honourable Chief Guest Dr. Suman Gulati .  The students presented a spectacular scintillating cultural programme on the theme – ‘INDIA: A CELESTIAL MUSIC ’, where there was perfect blend of speech, poem, sports activities and dance presentation   that depicted the struggle for Independence and the journey of the nation into a superior surging arena.

The Closing Ceremony of the Annual Sports Day was one of the significant features of the day. The results of the Sports Events were announced and the Final Races of different categories were conducted on the day. On this day Prizes for the Annual Sports Meet were given by our esteemed Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion , Dr. Suman Gulati, Director, BBGS, enlightened everyone about their responsibilities and duties towards their motherland. It was an educative, informative and memorizing experience for all.

Heritage Club

Our school is a part of The School Enterprise Challenge which is an International Awards Programme for schools around the world with up to $50,000 in prizes available for the most entrepreneurial schools, teachers and students. This programme guides and supports teachers and students to plan and set up real school businesses. Students develop essential skills in business and entrepreneurship in a practical, fun and innovative way. The Challenge also helps schools generate extra income for their school, or a social cause of their choice.

When we were given the opportunity to be a part of such a programme, we began with the group discussion sessions with the agenda -“what to produce”? The discussion covered a wide section of our market research that the product should be such that it requires the least investment and gives us the maximum profit. Finally we came to a conclusion to manufacture bamboo pen stands, jewellery for women (including necklaces, earrings and bracelets) and festoons. The first purchase that we made accounted for very less raw material. We made samples and then got them approved from the teacher in-charge. Finally we put up our first stall within the school premises on August 20, 2016.  The majority of our customers were constituted by the teachers of the school. The event was a success and hence we further continued with the manufacturing of our products, not only that, the next time we came up with better products with improved quality and strength.

HARMONY DAY ASSEMBLY - PRIMARY WING

The doctors briefed the students about the symptoms of the disease and how it is caused. Dengue fever, also known as breakbone fever, is an acute communicable disease caused by virus transmitted by the Aedes mosquito. The students were also apprised of the breeding condition of the mosquitoes and What can be done to reduce the risk of acquiring the disease. Dengue prevention techniques were shared like -Mosquito Control and Protection against bites and in case of emergency reporting to the doctor. The sessions were interactive and students shared their concerns with the experts. The doctors also shared the ways in which we can have healthy habits in our life style to prevent the spread of various vector borne diseases. In the last session of the Lecture, a Quiz was conducted to check the understanding of the students about the disease and the response of the students was overwhelming. The students answered all the questions and the team of doctors applauded the efforts of the students and also shared that some answers given by the students were so unique that they were spellbound by the intelligence and awareness they had about the disease. It was a unique learning experience for all the members.
