MISSION STOP DENGUE: GUEST LECTURE BY EMINENT DOCTORS

Education is a powerful tool through which we can enlighten the young impressionable minds to become an asset for the nation. It has been rightly said that if you want your child to shine like a star, dont show the other stars but the way to reach the sky. Education is an endless journey through knowledge and enlightenment. To bring in awareness amongst the students to fight against Dengue fever and other communicable diseases, The Health and Wellness Programme of the school spearheaded by Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director (Health and Wellness), BBGS organized a Guest Lecture by eminent doctors from the department of internal medicine from Medanta, The Medicity , Gurgaon on August 17, 2016 . This was an effort to sensitize the student community on the spread of the disease as well as its prevention and early diagnosis. The doctors briefed the students about the symptoms of the disease and how it is caused. Dengue fever, also known as breakbone fever, is an acute communicable disease caused by virus transmitted by the Aedes mosquito. The students were also apprised of the breeding condition of the mosquitoes and What can be done to reduce the risk of acquiring the disease. Dengue prevention techniques were shared like -Mosquito Control and Protection against bites and in case of emergency reporting to the doctor. The sessions were interactive and students shared their concerns with the experts. The doctors also shared the ways in which we can have healthy habits in our life style to prevent the spread of various vector borne diseases. In the last session of the Lecture, a Quiz was conducted to check the understanding of the students about the disease and the response of the students was overwhelming. The students answered all the questions and the team of doctors applauded the efforts of the students and also shared that some answers given by the students were so unique that they were spellbound by the intelligence and awareness they had about the disease. It was a unique learning experience for all the members.

Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational simulation and/or academic competition in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. MUN involves and teaches researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School held its first Inter Class MUN Session on  January 20,  2017 for X class. The day began with warm blessing from our honorablePrincipal Ms. Anjali Nagpal.  honorable Vice Principal Ms. Arpita Acharya and Honorable Middle wing in-charge Ms. Sunita Kaul.

The MUN session was declared open at 9:00 am. Initially GSL took place in which every member was given an opportunity to put up their country’s stance on the Agenda. After the General Speaker’s List was exhausted, the committee entered in a series of Moderate and Unmoderat Caucuses ( Formal and Informal Debates).The day was beset with intense debate, with delegates focusing all their energies on finding viable solutions , and tackling various crises that came their way. Delegates pushed their boundaries of their intellect and imagination throughout the day.The participants were brimming with excitement and anticipation.The discussion in the committee was a complete amalgamation of diplomatic debates, enriched learning, interesting allegations, knowledgeable facts and an urge to do the best.The overwhelming feedback of the entire conference received by the organizing committee so far, has already ensured that BBPS MUN is sure to be back with a bigger bang next year.

HELPAGE INDIA INITIATIVE: AN EXPRESSION OF GRATITUDE BY Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, SECTOR 10, GURGAON

“Showing Gratitude Is One Of The Simplest Yet Most Powerful Thing Humans Can Do For Each Other.”

The school actively organizes Community Outreach Programmes to sensitize everyone on the core issues so that the change percolates to benefit the society and nation at large. In pursuance of this mission, the Health & Wellness Programme  of the school spearheaded by Dr. Alka Saxena , Assistant Director ( Health & Wellness), BBGS  organized a Workshop for the students in association with  HelpAge India ,  an NGO working with and for the elderly in India. The NGO conducted a session on  SAVE (Students Action for Value Education Programme) for the students of Primary Wing - Classes III-V on January 18, 2017 to create awareness about various HelpAge projects all across the country.

The workshop was instrumental in sensitizing the students about ageing issues and children’s responsibility towards their grandparents, how their spending of quality  time with the grandparents can help in creating a strong bond of love and affection. The programme aimed at creating an “age friendly society”. Our little Blue Bellians joined hands together to bring smiles to the elderly and decided to be volunteers to provide  social support in their own special way. They collected an amount of Rs. 1,06,572/- to sponsor the programmes run by the NGO.

A special assembly was organized on February 08, 2017 to hand over the contribution to HelpAge India . The assembly was presided over by Dr. Alka Saxena , Assistant Director( Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of School.  Ma’am  appreciated and congratulated the students for their outstanding efforts in being partners to this human cause. Dr. Alka Saxena and the students of Primary Wing handed over the amount collected to HelpAge India. It was a humble  expression by the  students and school to give back to the society in a productive manner.

SPRINTING ARCHIVES 2016-17

Sports give life structure, discipline, and a pure fulfillment that few other areas of endeavor provide.  What counts in sports is not the victory but the struggle against overwhelming odds to prove your mettle. History is replete with examples galore which prove that success only smiles only on those who are prepared to challenge thy own self and have the courage and conviction of a leader. Continuing with the journey of honing young marvels in the sporting arena, Annual Sports Meet was organized in the school from January 11 to January 24, 2017 for Class Nursery to XI.  Different individual and team games were organized for the students in which they enthusiastically participated.

The Closing Ceremony of the Sports Meet was held on January 24, 2017.  The celebration was graced by the distinguished presence  of Dr. Suman Gulati, Director , Blue Bells Group of Schools. The students presented well orchestrated cultural program emphasizing on the need of the physical fitness.  Inter House Relay Races and Class IX to  XI for Girls and Boys categories were held along with Final 100mts for Classes VI to VIII.

The achievers of various sports events were facilitated by the revered Chief Guest for the day, esteemed Director , Dr. Suman Gulati. Ma’am asked the students to have a resolute focus and have a good sportsman spirit while playing the games. The enhancement of physical and mental development is  the most important contribution of sports . Ma’am apprised the students that it is also a powerful tool that breaks down all the barriers and helps us feel good about ourselves, both physically and mentally as  by playing sports one develops physical skills, exercise, make new friends, have fun, learn to be a team member, learn about play fair, improve self-esteem, etc.

AN EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO NATIONAL SCIENCE CENTRE , NEW DELHI

In order to inculcate Scientific Awareness & Scientific Temper and encourage inquisitive minds to inculcate innovative ideas, the school organized an Educational trip for the students of Classes VIII, VII & VI on December 27, 28 and 29 , 2016 respectively to National Science Centre, New Delhi . The students thoroughly enjoyed this educational excursion which provided them an opportunity to see the marvels of science as well as take a glimpse of the glorious innovations of the past.
 
The students observed a 3-D movie on Dinosaurs, Fun with Science Zone- A zone where various principles were explained with practical experience & experiments, Observation of Milky Way Galaxy on Science On Sphere ( SOS)- the zone showcased view of our Solar System which comprises of:
a)    Sun- Temperature on surface is 6000° Kelvin and core has almost 15 million degree calculated using Planks equation. Source of energy is Nuclear Fusion Reaction.
b)    Mercury- Closes to sun, Smallest planet
c)    Venus- Twin of Earth, Morning & Evening Star, hottest planet
d)    Earth- Called as Blue Marble
e)    Moon- Natural Satellite of earth
f)    Mars-Red Planet, only planet where life can exist except Earth
g)    Jupiter- having 63 moons ,Titan being one of them, Largest planet in Solar System
h)    Saturn-
i)    Uranus-
j)    Neptune- only planet to be observed with the help of a telescope, filled with Methane gas.
Besides these there were many small sections depicting the other topics like: Doppler effect, mirror maze, viscosity, floating ball, etc Also shown were the prehistoric era of Dinosaurs, Indias freedom struggle, computers & technology, Indian post system, etc. The students felt exhilarated when the theoretical concepts they have learnt in class were practically demonstrated to them. It was a learning experience for all.

TRIP TO AKSHARDHAM TEMPLE

Credo of our school says in keeping with the thought “BE HONEST ,BE BRAVE” Honesty comes from spirituality. The seeds of which are sown at house and nurtured at our school. Right from Gurukuls to present day schooling the pillar of education is spirituality. Among the greatest objectives of humanity is the education and training of children .Education must therefore be divine as well as material .Spiritual education embodies those virtues or attributes which ,when kindled in the hearts and minds of children ,not only guide their morals but also enhance their material education.
Blue bells aims at teaching  children to love god in all forms . This love reflects their role within their own immediate families and socio-economic community.
155 students of Classes IX to XI  along with eleven  teachers on  December 23,  2016 . The motive behind the excursion was not only  to root the students to the rich Indian culture but also inculcate the spirit of team building and understand the concept of group activity. The students learnt about the rich Indian Cultural Heritage with the right blend of technology. The students watched a movie on God Neelkanth and were taken for a boat ride and were shown the glimpses of the historical past starting from Aryabhatta till now. The students also watched the Light & Sound Show which is the highlight of the temple. It was a great learning experience for all.

Christmas Celebration

“Christmas is a time for love and fun,
A time to reshape souls, roots and skies,
A time to give your heart to all as God loves all.”

A special assembly to celebrate Christmas was conducted for classes Nur-UKg on December 23, 2016 . A setup of Lord Jesus birth place was made in the centre with pictures of Lord Jesus and Santa-clause. The whole program was a story about The Birth of Jesus which had a fusion of different songs accompanied by keyboard.
The Event started with Christmas Carol (All things Bright and Beautiful) song and school prayer. Few students of LKG were dressed as Mother Mary, Father Joseph, and Jesus Christ. Thereafter students of class UKG spoke about the importance of this festival and learnings from the life of Lord Jesus.
The revered  Principal of the school spoke to the students about the significance of praying daily and the joy of visiting Church and listening to Christmas carols.

CELESTIAL SOJOURN (FIVE ELEMENTS IN TRANSITION)

Faith is the light that guides through the darkness. There is a single power ruling this world i.e. God, He is the omnipotent, omniscient and the omnipresent force that guides us in all out ventures.
To root the students to the power of the self-exploration and realization , An Inter-House devotional presentation – Celestial Sojourn (Five Elements In Transition) was presented by the Primary Wing of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School  in the loving memory of Honourable Chairman Sh B.D Gulatiji  on December 21, 2016. The program was presided over by the revered Director, Blue  Bells Group of Schools Dr. Suman Gulati Mam. Students presented Darvesh and Shiv Stuti representing the element Air depicting continuity of values in life. All the four house presented their spiritual renditions – Awall Allah Noor , Girdhar Gopal , Koi Bole Raam , Sufiana Rang depicting the other four elements of the Universe representing virtues like patience , energy , calm and reinventing oneself. The event aimed at inspiring the students to learn from the legacy created by Sir Sh B.D Gulatiji. The soulful melodies touched the heart of all present at the event.

The enhancement of physical and mental development of children is  the most important contribution of sports . Its also a powerful tool that breaks down all the barriers and helps us feel good about ourselves, both physically and mentally as  by playing sports children develop physical skills, exercise, make new friends, have fun, learn to be a team member, learn about play fair, improve self-esteem, etc. The enhancement of physical and mental development of children is certainly the most important contribution of sports, but the list of values your child may learn and acquire through sports does not end here.
At Blue Bells , we believe in giving adequate importance to sports and games so that our young buds develop their Kinesthetic skills, as it  not only imbibes rich values in them  but also instills a sense of discipline , fellow –feeling and togetherness.

In sync with the same the school had organized  “Kinesth-o Fiesta” an Inter-school Pre-Primary Sports Meet 2016  for the students of classes Nursery, LKG,and UKG (Age group 3 to 5 Years) on December  17, 2016, in the playground of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School Sector-10. The occasion was embellished with the gracious presence of Dr. Suman Gulati, esteemed Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools.  The tiny tots of the school presented a well orchestrated programme with a perfect amalgamation of Vandana , sporting drill and Yoga display along with the Fun races where the students participated with utmost enthusiasm.

The event provided a unique platform to unearth the hidden potential hibernating in the young toddlers along with providing them a simulated  environment to develop  sporting skills and healthy camaraderie.
