The school considers parents to be the greatest resource and value partners in providing holistic education to the students. To cater to the harmonious development of a child’s personality and to enable him to encounter the challenges of tomorrow, the school organized an Orientation Program  : A New Beginning on March 25, 2017 for the  Primary Wing.   The parents were acquainted with  the teaching methodology, psycho-pedagogy and working methodology of the school.

The Program began on an auspicious note by evoking the blessing of the Almighty with the ceremonial lighting of Diya. Mrs. Anjali Nagpal, Principal of the school accorded a warm welcome to all the revered parents. Mrs. Arpita Acharya briefed the parents about the Code of Conduct to be followed in the school by the students . Ms. Sushma Malhotra, Primary Wing Incharge  explained about the dynamic changes in both scholastic and co-scholastic subjects. The faculty members apprised the parents about the concept of Integrated Teaching Methodology, Evaluation and Assessment in classes III to V along with the activities conducted in various subjects as a part of  transdisciplinary approach in  teaching learning sessions.  

The education imparted in the school is ‘CHILD CENTRIC’ and thus due impetus is given on overall development of personality. In sync with this, the school under the inspirational leadership of Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director ( Health & Wellness), BBGS has a well regulated Health & Wellness Program to provide a proper hand holding and support to the students in the phase of transition. Ms. Renu Khare  , the school Counsellor briefed the parents about the  mission and vision of The Health & Wellness Program of the school. The parents were also apprised about nurturing core Life Skills in the students so that they have the abilities for adaptive and positive behavior which are pertinently required to deal with challenges of life.

The last phase of the Orientation Program was an ‘OPEN HOUSE’ , an interactive session where the parents cleared their doubts from the resource team .

Keeping in mind the holistic growth of the child and the myriad challenges that he has to face in the evolving educational mindscape the school organized an Orientation Programme for the parents of students from classes I & II   to acquaint them with the dynamic changes incorporated by the school to make the teaching –learning process interesting and absorbing for the students on  March 18, 2017.

The parents were accorded a warm welcome by Mrs. Anjali Nagpal, Principal of the school . The faculty members apprised the parents about the concept of Integrated Teaching Methodology and new wave pedagogies adopted by the school to enrich the curriculum so that it meets global standards.  General guidelines were also given to the parents regarding the Homework, Family projects, and Time management, Moral Values, PTMs and Evaluation System. The unique initiatives  of the school were brought into the notice like Edusports, DEAR period, Life Skills, Robotronics, Computer Education and Health and Nutrition . The parents were also told about the different facilities available in our school like the Uniform and Stationery Counter and Transport facility.

Under the initiative and guidance of Madam Soumya Gulati , Assistant Director (Academic Development & Innovation), BBGS has come up with  the Learning  Space- The Learning & Development Centre  . The parents were acquainted with the varied workshops and Gallery Walks which were organized in house along with the pedagogy adopted by the school to bring in innovative practices to enhance the teaching learning process. The display of learning progression in Classes I and II  on “ MOVING AROUND & COMMUNICATION “ was appreciated by the parents.

The Health & Wellness Programme of the school spearheaded by Dr. Alka Saxena Assistant Director ( Health & Wellness), BBGS  ardently  focuses on  to prepare a child  so that he/ she is   physically  and emotionally empowered along with strengthening the belief that ‘SCHOOL IS A SAFE & SECURE PLACE’. Ms. Renu Khare , the school Counsellor briefed the parents about the need to develop Child’s emotional vocabulary so that the child can understand the emotions and feelings.  The parents were also apprised about nurturing core Life Skills in the students so that they have the abilities for adaptive and positive behavior which are pertinently required to deal with challenges of life

After the Vote of Thanks, the parents were requested to move to the Atrium for a recreational round with the Edusports team. The programme concluded on a happy note and the feedback forms collected from the parents clearly depicted that the Program was well received by them and they were now ready to be active partners in educating the child.  

EXCURSION TO RED FORT, NEW DELHI

“School trips can change attitudes and raise aspirations, through participation in new activities.”

School excursions  have the potential to lay strong foundations for encouraging successful learning and building positive attitudes which subsequently lead to improvements in achievement and motivation in all areas – including academic. Children also enjoy themselves so much they often don’t even realise they are learning which can help produce the greatest achievements. It also  provides  powerful learning outcomes for young people which contribute to a sense of belonging, feeling valued and the ability to make a positive contribution in their community and society at large.  In sync with the same , the school organized an education trip to the Red Fort for the students of Class V on March 16, 2017.

The Red Fort is a historical fort in the city of Delhi in India. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal dynasty for nearly 200 years, until 1857. It is located in the center of Delhi and houses a number of museums. In addition to accommodating the emperors and their households, it was the ceremonial and political centre of the Mughal state and the setting for events critically impacting the region. Constructed in 1639 by the fifth Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as the palace of his fortified capital Shahjahanabad, the Red Fort is named for its massive enclosing walls of red sandstone and is adjacent to the older Salimgarh Fort, built by Islam Shah Suri in 1546. It was a learning experience for the students.

AN EDUCATIONAL  VISIT TO RAIL MUSEUM

 “Students are born curious and learning is the outcome of their natural yearns to satisfy this curiosity.”

School field trip is an effective educational activity for students that helps facilitate fast and efficient learning method. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to take a break from the classroom lecture and to have some fun and excitement in an entirely new environment while learning at the same time. Through field trips, students learn by actually doing a hands-on experience. They learn effectively since their senses are actively interested in what they are doing more than it functions in a classroom setting.

To learn more about the ongoing theme “Moving Around” students of Class LKG went to Rail Museum, Delhi on March 15,  2017 .  The knowledge of the students took a new leap as they could practically expereince things explained or shown to them. The National Rail Museum focuses on the Rail Heritage of India. The Major attractions were - Gallery of Indian Railway History, toy train rides, engines from very start to latest ones. Students observed various vehicles on road, traffic signals during their trip. They also discussed various ways to travel safely. During the trip, they shared their lunch with their friends and were served with frooti, candies and sandwiches.

 The trip was a not only a fun-filled experience but also facilitated experiential learning.

APRATIM BHARAT : AROMA OF UNIQUE INDIAN SPIRITUAL HERITAGE

One of the oldest civilizations in the world, the Indian civilization has a strong tradition of science and technology. Ancient India was a land of sages and seers as well as a land of scholars and scientists. Research has shown that from making the best steel in the world to teaching the world to count, India was actively contributing to the field of science and technology centuries long before modern laboratories were set up.  In sync with the mission to root the young Blue Bellians to the rich Indian Heritage, the school  proudly hosted  a Cultural Extravaganza  for the students of Classes I and II on the theme-Apratim Bharat: A Journey Towards Excellence, aroma of unique Indian spiritual heritage   , a symbolic representation of Indian contribution in the developmental  process all across the globe  on March 11, 2017 .

The occasion was embellished with the gracious presence of Dr. Suman Gulati, esteemed Director , BBGS and Mr. Ashish Gulati, Vice Chairman , BBGS and Madam Soumya Gulati, Assistant Director ( Academic Development and Innovations), BBGS and Madam Anshuka Aneja , Assistant Director-IT, BBGS.

Under the initiative and guidance of Madam Soumya Gulati, Assistant Director ( Academic Development and Innovations),BBGS ,  the  Gallery Walk showcasing the learning progression of Classes I and II on the theme-‘ Moving Around & Communication ’ was the highlight of the programme.

The Research Centre of The Health & Wellness Programme under the inspiring leadership of Dr. Alka Saxena , Assistant Director ( Health & Wellness), BBGS  showcased the development process of all domains of learning in the students along with life skills and values in their formative years.  The parents heartily appreciated and lauded the effort which also gave them an insight into the learning progression.

The programme started by invoking the blessings of the divine with the presentation of Shiv Stuti by the students . Ms. Anjali Nagpal, Principal of the school accorded a warm welcome to all the dignitaries and parents. The students presented  APRATIM BHARAT: A JOURNEY TOWARDS EXCELLENCE ,  a panoramic view of the  contribution of Indian Vedas and culture in the development  of the world. It   also vivified the  process of evolution of Modern India from the rich learning of the vedas, percolating to the diverse areas of development and emerging as a strong nation with rich cultural heritage and knowledge based society . The energetic performance of the students was appreciated and applauded by all.  Ms. Sushma Malhotra , Primary Wing Incharge of the school presented the Annual Report for Classes I & II and proposed the Vote Of Thanks.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Suman Gulati, esteemed Director, BBGS, congratulated the students for the marvelous presentation and wished all the Blue Bellians to be the custodians of rich Indian Culture. Director Madam thanked all the parents for sparing their valuable time and being a part of the festivity.

It was an enriching experience for all.

ICT- THINK ROOM DAY  CELEBRATION  

“Technology has become the WINGS that has allowed the educational world to fly farther and faster than ever….”

Smart classrooms, e-learning, digital boards, information and communication technology (ICT)  have become an integral part of education in the 21^st Century. The education system designed in the school is ‘CHILD CENTRIC’ which caters to the development of the ‘Whole Child’ and enables the young learner to develop essential skills for a bright future and helps him ‘think’ in different ways to enhance his/her  cognitive and psychomotor skills with a perfect blend of IT.

We at Blue Bells believe that every child has a unique inner potential and when this is nurtured, they can contribute their fullest to the world as well as for themselves. In sync with the same , the school collaborated with Chrysalis through its tool Chrysalis Thinkroom to help students , parents and the teachers with a curriculum that is both innovative as well as interactive.

The Annual feature of Intra School Event- Chrysalis ICT Day, ‘THINKROOMS’ was organized by the school on March 3,2017. This competition provided a platform to the students to showcase their expertise in information technology with the perfect blend of core life skills which are a part of their healthy growing. The students of Classes III to V participated in the event with utmost zest and zeal by innovatively transforming their classrooms to Think rooms.  The events on both these days were adjudged by renowned faculty members of Blue Bells Group of Schools and experts from Chrysalis.

The Closing –cum- Valedictory Ceremony of the Programme was adorned by the illustrious  presence of Dr. Suman Gulati, esteemed Director and Ms. Anshuka Aneja , Assistant Director –IT, BBGS. The students presented a well orchestrated cultural programme with a perfect blend of a wonderful musical presentation and the scintillating dance presentation that left everyone gasping for more. The achievers were felicitated by revered Guests for the occasion Dr. Suman Gulati  and Mrs. Anshuka Aneja.

Speaking on the occasion Ms. Anshuka Aneja congratulated the students for showcasing their tech skills with an utmost level of perfection. Ma’am expressed her happiness to see the young netizens understanding the theme perfectly. Ma’am aspired to see these young Blue Bellians flying high in the sky with a perfect blend of knowledge and values.

TRANSITION WORKSHOP FOR CLASS V

Adolescence is a period of transition and change that every teenager has to encounter as he / she embarks on a process of self-exploration and self-discovery on the verge of adulthood.  Sensitizing the adolescents and empowering them to combat the challenges of tomorrow is the need of the hour. The time of  transition is strenuous but it gives an opportunity to rethink priorities and adapt & adopt the changes to emerge as UNIQUE individual  with a strong value system. In sync with the same objective, the Resource Center team of Health and Wellness Programme of the school organized a Transition   Session for the students of Class V on March 1, 2017, under the inspiring guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools.

The session was chaired and addressed by Dr. Alka Saxena . It  was attended by the  Principal, Middle Wing Incharge,  Counsellors and teachers along with the  students of Class V. The motive  of the session was to prepare the students  for the transition from Class V to VI and also to familiarize them with the Middle Wing system, their new teachers,  the assessment pattern and the Health & Wellness Programme followed in Class VI, along with addressing their apprehensions and concerns.

Ms. Sunita Kaul, the Middle Wing In-charge extended a warm welcome to the students and apprised them about a few changes that would be there in Class VI . Ms. Meena Abrol , the Examination In-charge, gave a brief about the changes and addition of subjects, activities, and the Evaluation and Assessment Scheme as per the new CBSE directives. The students were also apprised about the different events and activities included in the Middle Wing as part of the Health & Wellness Programme and the Health and Wellness Team for the Wing  was  introduced.

 In the interactive session , Dr. Alka Saxena asked the students to  share their feelings and concerns about moving to the new wing. Their responses included feelings like nervousness, excitement, curiosity, fear, and mixed feeling. The students further shared their apprehensions that they were worried about shuffling of classes, new subjects, new teachers, new wing, new books, new ways to study and  more activities etc. Dr. Alka Saxena addressed these feelings of the students and shared the ways in which they can adapt effectively to the change which is pertinent to growth. Ma’am also encouraged the students to voice their opinion so that the areas of concern could be amicably resolved. The students were  worried on how would they be able to get friendly with new classmates as their classes would get shuffled  and also how would they rectify the errors during exams  as they would be now writing with pen . Dr. Alka provided a proper hand holding and suggested  ways to cope with the changes. These appealed to the students as their concerns were addressed and answered.

The students were then introduced to the subject teachers of Class VI, which helped them feel at ease and they appeared relaxed and comfortable.   The school team assured the students that they would not only get the support of their new teachers but also their previous teachers in this phase of transition . With the kind of response the students  showed towards the workshop, has led us to believe and feel motivated enough to keep up the good work. It also fortifies our commitment to churn individuals with a positive bent of mind in any given circumstances .Its just a drop which will make up the ocean generating Aware, informed and responsible individuals  of the future.

 CHANNELIZING CREATIVE POTENTIAL: MI CAMP  AT  Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, SECTOR 10, GURGAON

An intelligence is the ability to solve problems or to create products , that are valued within one or more cultural settings. To involve the students in different activities and also  help them identify their multiple intelligences and give them meaningful and enjoyable exposures to discover their own strengths and become confident, a “Multiple Intelligence Camp” on the theme -“My Strong Intelligences – My Pathway of Success” for the Primary Wing of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School was organized on February 21 and 22, 2017 in collaboration with Primary Plus.

The students of Classes UKG to  V were involved in plethora of activities based on multiple intelligences which  ranged from  creating art, stories, science projects, loads of social and team project work, body movement and skills, and effective communicative language to express and explore ideas and thoughts.

While Kinesthetic Skills were developed through ‘Flying Fox’ and ‘Rock Climbing’, the  ‘Bootcamp’ helped them to exercise with rhythm, ‘Crazy Science’, ‘Play & Grow’ helped to develop their cognitive skills. ‘Theatre’ and ‘Pottery Making’ focused on their artistic talents. ‘Drone Flying’ was another interesting activity where students learnt to fly a Mini Drone and maneuver it.

The activities based on eight multiple intelligences ensured that each child got exposed all intelligences, gained confidence in interacting with people, in thinking and expressing, thus enjoying while having fun and specially learning in a different way.

HAWAN CEREMONY

“To Be Inspired Is Great, To Inspire Is Incredible, Realize Your Innate Potential and Soar High In the Sky… ”

Education leads to fecundity of thought , copiousness of illustrations , vigour to challenge and achieve the invincible which in turn leads to success . It   starts with a thought or an idea, which when nourished with hope and confidence and encouraged by ambition and aspiration, takes shape of a dream, vision and goal in stages.  The school gives wings to children’s ideas and allows them to fly high, no matter how far-fetched they may seem in the beginning as ideas ultimately wrought miracles, brought revolutions and built civilizations.   

Hawan Ceremony was organized for the outgoing batch of Class XII to bestow the choicest blessings on them to fair well in the forthcoming Board Examination on February 20, 2017 . The occasion was graced by Dr. Alka Saxena , Assistant Director ( Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group Of Schools.

Dr. Alka Saxena wished the students on behalf of the Management & Director of the school.  The students were advised to have resolute focus to accomplish all the set goals of their life and reach the pinnacle of achievement and glory in true sense.

REJUVENATION IN THE LAP OF NATURE: STAFF PICNIC AT PRATAPGARH FARMS

“To travel is to live as it helps in getting to know yourself by facing new experiences …”

Each and every day of life is filled with a unique learning experience that makes our existence worth. Human life incorporates learning, we learn from our surroundings and environment and this enriching phase makes us a wholesome personality.

The staff members of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School rejoiced themselves in the lap of Mother Nature at the Pratapgarh Farms, located at Jhajjar on February 18, 2017. The trip was organized by the Management who values each and every member of the school. Apart from relaxation and enjoyment the picnic also aimed at building up team spirit among the members of the staff.

The journey to the resort was an enjoyable one, both due to the exquisite village scenery on the way to the farms and the dancing and singing in the bus. A unique holiday experience came alive at this ethnic village resort, which offered- sumptuous vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine, live entertainment – folk music and dance, traditional handicrafts by artisans, natural beauty care, sports and adventure activities – in the background of lush green fields. The rural setting was further enhanced by thatched huts, cattle barns full of goats, sheep, cows, buffaloes, camel and horses and poultry farm full of fowls, ducks and rabbits – an also opportunity to participate in the daily life of the village folk. The teachers actively participated in various activities like:-

·         Rides : Camel cart ride, tractor ride, horse ride, bullock cart ride

·         Rural Games : Shoting- Gulel, darts, airgun, archery, pithoo, gilli danda, kanche goli, lattoo, kite flying, tug of war, wrestling and kabbadi

·         Fun activities : Burma bridge, mud bath & tube well bath  and trampoline

·         Domestic activities : Panihari Chaal (balancing water pails), mud daubing and frescoes, matka painting, rural kitchen cooking, pounding grain, grinding atta, making ghee and butter milk, spinning the yarn on charkhas and working on potter's wheel.

Though the picnic was for a day but has left indelible imprints in the heart of all the members, these fond memories will be cherished forever.
