INTER HOUSE STORY BOOK MAKING COMPETITION

Language is an effective medium to unleash one’s innate potential and to articulate one’s thoughts, feelings and emotions. An Inter House Story Book Making Competition was organized for the students of Classes VI to VIII on May 16, 2017 to mark the celebration of Thakur Rabindranath’s birth anniversary.

The students of all of the four houses researched well and prepared thought provoking cover page, back page and illustrations to depict their story . The result of the competition was :-

GOAL SETTING WORKSHOP FOR CLASS XII

Interactive session was conducted for Class XII on May 16, 2017 and the  theme for the session was Setting Goals And Managing Time In Summer Vacations.  After regular interactions with the students , it was felt that the students of Class XII  will benefit from goal setting as during  the vacations, the  students have lot of unstructured time for themselves  and sometimes they do not know how to utilize that time to the optimum . Hence, the need was felt to acquaint the students to  understand the importance of setting goals for summer vacation so that they can plan  during the vacation along with their studies . This will further result in enhancing their knowledge along with following their passion.

In the session facilitator focused on importance of the goal setting, how we can set SMART goals, and always set your own goals for yourself. Goals are about what you want to do, rather than not want to do.

The facilitators also briefed about time wasters and how time can be managed  effectively and also focus on time management. The students were also apprised  about how they  can increase their  productivity by using some tips like :-  always planning the  day in advance, consolidating  similar tasks together, learning  to say no when they  are busy etc. The students were  also advised  about healthy life style which would help them gain physical fitness and mental alertness.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

The primary objective of school education is to prepare students for the future. This preparation includes training them to be prospective leaders. To help the students feel the sense of responsibilities and keeping the tradition of the institution, new members of the prefectorial body of  the Primary Wing of the school for the session 2017-18  took Oath on May 10, 2017 . It was a solemn ceremony and the Vice Principal invested the new appointees with their position of authority. After receiving the Oath of maintaining fairness in judgment from each of the newly appointed student leaders , the Vice Principal  and Primary Wing Incharge pinned the badges and blessed the members of the Prefectorial Body.

MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

“Mother is thy name of God in the heart of the children….” Mother’s Day is a celebration of bond of love and affection between a mother and a child.To celebrate this day of love, on May 10, 2017, the tiny tots from Classes Nur- II of the school gave a soul touching presentation dedicated to their mothers encompassing hand-on activities and rhymes showcasing their love for their mothers . A special assembly was organized by Class IV B on the theme ‘A Letter To My Mother’ . The highlight of the presentation was the letters written by the students to their mothers, in which they expressed their gratitude to their mothers for their help, support, guidance and unconditional love. The teachers also sensitized the students to be more appreciative towards all what their mothers do for them right from making food, helping them with homework, telling them stories and putting them to bed.

LABOUR DAY CELEBRATION

The success of any nation depends on the quality of workforce  and how they work as a single unit to beckon the economy of the nation.  To pay a token of reverence to the dignity of the human resource , Labour Day was celebrated in the school on April 28, 2017. A Special Morning Assembly was organized by Class XII B & XII C in Hindi to stress on the importance of dignity of labour. The students presented song, poem and skit to emphasize the same. Ms. Kavita and Ms. Sapna , Hindi Faculty Members  expressed their views and appreciated the effort of the Support Staff in smooth functioning of the school.

  The Principal of the school appreciated the contribution of the Support Staff to help the Institution scale great height through  their hard work, devotion & pride with their work. The students were motivated to respect & honour the helpers. Ma’am reiterated her faith in them and said next to faith in God is faith in the devoted members of the family.

LABOUR DAY CELEBRATION( PRE- PRIMARY & PRIMARY  WING)

To commemorate the Labour Day and to appreciate and thank the selfless service of the support staff of the school, who work with full dedication and ensure the hygiene and security of school, the Pre-Primary and Primary Wing of the school  celebrated Labour’s Day with a special assembly by Class I-II & Class V C on the theme “We Thank You” on May 01 & 03, 2017 respectively.

The students presented a skit highlighting the role of helpers in our day to day life followed by a special rendition. Various activities were carried on Labour Day i.e. May 1, 2017 to carry this message of appreciation and acknowledgement forward. NUR, LKG AND UKG students made beautiful bouquets  by vegetable printing , Class I students made badges and wrist bands and Class II made photo frames , Class III students displayed their gratitude by presenting pen holders to the support staff. The support staff felt motivated by this gesture of affection by the students. Ms Sushma Malhotra, Primary Wing Incharge, addressed the students and apprised them about the importance of the   celebration and how they should  extend their gratitude by believing in the dignity of work.

RAIN DANCE ACTIVITY

“Rain is a divine bliss of the Almighty to let everything blossom to life on earth, it rejuvenates and  inspires all…. ”

We, at Blue Bells believe in providing a platform to the students where learning is a fun filled activity and knowledge percolates to the deep.  To help the students understand and enjoy the bliss of rain, Rumbling Rain Dance Activity was organized for the students of kindergarten section  from April 26 to May 01, 2017.

The tiny tots looked dashing in their colourful swimming costumes and it was overwhelming experience for the students as they felt ecstatic after getting drenched in the rain. The students danced on the  foot tapping music and enjoyed themselves.  The ambience was filled with positivity and energy. It was the one of the best ways  to provide a proper hand holding to the student and  help them have a  direct experience with the miracles of nature. your movements as you mimic the sounds of the rain. CHILD SAFETY IS OUR PRIME CONCERN: WORKSHOP ON CHILD PROTECTION POLICY & POCSO ACT  

When ensuring safety within schools a holistic approach is imperative to create an environment which looks at the multiple dimensions of vulnerability faced by the child, be it mental, emotional, cognitive, social, cultural, geographical or physical, keeping in mind the child's entire cycle of engagement with the educational environment and the system.

A safe school environment makes children's rights a reality, restores hope, eliminates bias, upholds dignity in the child's life and creates an enabling environment that supports a child's positive personality development. In sync with the same objective a Workshop was  organized for the teachers by The Resource Centre of The Health & Wellness Programme under the   inspiring  guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy  Director  (Health  and Wellness), BBGS, on April 22, 2017 . The teachers were sensitized and made aware of the POCSO Act & Child Protection Policy devised for BBGS .

Children are innocent and trusting by nature and thus, they need to be protected against any  abuse . Therefore, the teachers play a pivotal role to protect them in the school if they do not become a prey to such acts. Ma’am elaborately explained about the  POCSO Act, adopted by India to safeguard children from sexual offense.  This is an Act to protect children from offences of sexual assault, sexual harassment and pornography and provide for establishment of Special Courts for trial of such offences and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Dr.Alka Saxena, gave a brief to everyone on  Child Protection Policy statements to provide a clear picture to the teachers for ensuring students’ safety in the school. This policy is applicable to all employees and any person who comes in contact with the school system. Ma’am gave a detailed description on the vision and mission of the school as far as students’ safety  is concerned. She  also apprised the staff about the safety measures taken for transport and even when students move out for picnic or any outdoor activities and other areas. Ma’am also briefed on Online safety so that teachers could guide the students properly for internet security. She  also  outlined the parameters to be followed as  internet safety protocol and also updated everyone on  the roles and responsibilities of ‘Child Abuse Monitoring Committee’ and ‘Core Committee Members’ to make children feel safe and secured in the school premises. The whole objective of session was   to sensitize teachers so that  children can be protected from abuse and their safety can be ensured by providing  a safe learning environment. 

REPORT- GREEN DAY CELEBRATION

REPORT- GREEN DAY CELEBRATION “We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children”. Our planet is truly a magnificent place. Known as the Blue Planet due to its abundance of water, the Earth is an incredibly complex and vibrant ecosystem, where living organisms interacts with each other and their environment to create the ideal conditions for life. The students of the Pre-primary and Primary wing of the school took the pledge and celebrated the Green Day on April 21, 2017 with great aplomb and enthusiasm in the school premises. The aim of the celebration was to convey the message to protect our precious earth and its valuable resources, so that they can be available to us for many years to come. To celebrate the importance of Green Day, the students of class VD presented a special assembly “Planet Pals”. The students performed a skit playing various Eco- friendly characters like Recycle Michael, H2O, Sunny Rays , Planet Terri , Green Pal spreading the message of 5 R’s –Reduce , Reuse , Recycle, Respect and Reinvent to create awareness about our responsibility towards Mother Earth. A plethora of activities were conducted with an aim to sensitize students towards their role in addressing global environmental challenges at grass root level. The students of class Nursery did hand printing with Blue and Green colour on the paper plates. Students of LKG participated with enthusiasm and zeal in the group activity of painting the earth picture by hand printing. The students of UKG made Earth Day mobiles wherein there were given a circle shape cutout which they colored as EARTH showing the green and blue areas and then attached strings to it making it more beautiful. Each child wrote a small message promising that they will join hands together to save OUR Mother Earth. The students of classes I to V enthusiastically took part in creating Book Organiser, Recycle Bins, Photoframes , No Sew T- Shirt Tote Bags and Weave Together using putting waste material to best use. Class V students created a table and four seats using old tyres. The aim of the celebration was to convey the message to protect our precious earth and its valuable resources, so that they can be available to us for many years to come.

Welcome Assembly Class I & II

The beginning of a new session is always an auspicious time – a time for new hopes and renewed dreams. To welcome the students into a new session 2017-18, a “Welcome Assembly” for classes I & II was conducted on April 11, 2017. The assembly began with the school song followed by regular features like NEWS and Thought for the Day.  Ganesh Vandana performed by the students made the start of the day lively and blew fresh energy into the students and teachers. Cheerful and sparkling words of Primary Wing Incharge, Ms. Sushma Malhotra Ma’am motivated the students and invigorated their spirits with optimism and dynamism.
