A VISIT TO AMUL FACTORY

The magic of Field trips is more than a  subject, it is the break in the routine and adventure that opens up children’s mind to new things. It is  an exciting hands-on experience to deepen learning.

To learn the processing of milk and milk products Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School organized an industrial visit to Amul Factory, IMT Manesar, Gurugram on January 29, 2018 (Monday) for the students of Class I. They visited the plant and were shown the complete process of receiving and packing of milk. Students were also shown the milk receiving section, operation section- milk section, curd section & ice cream section, dispatch section, automation and control room, etc. The children were also shown a documentary on the history of Amul factory and they also enjoyed the taste of Amul Icecream.

The students shared their experience in the reflection sheet. The trip was a great learning experience for the little ones.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

INVOKING PATRIOTIC FERVOUR: REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

AT Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, SECTOR 10, GURUGRAM

India, a land of diversity yet a land of unity, love and brotherhood. The turbulent history of subjugation of the country by the Britishers did not dampen the spirit of mighty Indians. They fought courageously and relentlessly and finally freed the country from the clutches of British Imperialistic rule. To reinforce the love for freedom, 69^th   Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm in the school on  January 25, 2018.

 The programme commenced with the unfurling of the National tricolor by the Chief Guest Honourable Director Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati along with the ceremonial March past orchestrated by the playing of the bugle and the beating of the drums.  The spirit of patriotism was kept alive through a scintillating cultural programme where the students of Classes III-XI earnestly participated. All the presentations rekindled the feelings of love and emotional bandage with the motherland in the august gathering.

The Closing Ceremony of the Annual Sports Day was one of the significant features of the day. The results of the Sports Events were announced and the Final Races of different categories were conducted on the day. On this day Prizes for the Annual Sports Meet were given by our esteemed Chief Guest.

The celebration came to a close with the inspirational address by  Director Ma’am  where she wished students to value the hard earned freedom and work as a single unit to take India to the path of glory and fame. Ma’am further enlightened everyone about their responsibilities and duties towards their motherland. It was mesmerizing experience for everyone present.

BASANT PANCHMI CELEBRATION

“Glory, glory, all glory to you,

O Bharati, Devi  Saraswati, the Goddess of Speech,

Revered throughout the world.

Glory to Thee Mother,  the inexhaustible fountainhead of blessings.”

The day of Basant Panchami is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of learning who bequeaths the greatest wealth to humanity, the wealth of knowledge.

The Blue Bells Family celebrated this pious occasion with utmost fervour and religiosity on January 22, 2018.The occasion was graced by the radiant presence of Dr. SarojSuman Gulati, esteemed Director , Blue Bells Group of Schools . The celebration was marked by a special presentation by the students that was embedded with prayers, hymns and offerings to the Goddess. The students paid their tribute to Goddess Saraswatiand highlighted about Hindu mythology that depicts her as a pristine lady bedecked with white attire, white flowers and white pearls, sitting on a white lotus, which blooms in a wide stretch of water. The Goddess also holds Veena, a string-instrument, like Sitar, for playing music. The choir group presented a prayer, "Oh Mother Saraswati remove the ignorance of our mind and bless us all with the eternal knowledge.”

The festival was celebrated with full vivacity and festivity to mark the end of the winters. The Goddess of art, learning, knowledge and wisdom, MaaSaraswati was worshipped with full dedication, enthusiasm and new sense of optimism.

 CELESTIAL SOJOURN : A JOURNEY OF SELF EXPLORATION

The secret of true prosperity is finding our security through our connection with the divine, with the spiritual world.

            To root the students to the power of the self-exploration and realization, an Inter-House Spiritual presentation – Celestial Sojourn was presented by the Primary Wing of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School in the loving memory of Honourable Chairman Sir Sh B.D Gulatiji on January 22, 2018. The program was presided over by  Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati Ma’am. revered Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools.

The students started the day by invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati on the occasion of Basant Panchami. All the four Houses presented their spiritual renditions – Satguru Raakh Liya, Wahe Guru, Sahiba and Jiske Sir Par Tu Swami. The event aimed at inspiring the students to learn from the legacy created by Sir Sh B.D Gulatiji.

Director Madam  appreciated the dedicated efforts of the students and stressed on the  importance of sincerity, respect and  truthfulness to have a fulfilling life. Sh Taranand Jha from the Music Dept. also rendered a shabad in his soulful voice to express his gratitude. The soulful melodies mesmerized all . 

READ-O-PHONICS SESSION : RAISING ROBUST READERS WITH THE MAGIC OF  SOUNDS

The school provides for an age appropriate enriched curriculum wherein learning becomes a joyful experience and classroom experiences are designed to encourage curiosity, self expression, joy and aesthetic sensibility. The guiding principles are to correlate learning with life outside the school and to ensure that there is a significant shift from rote learning to deeper understanding of concepts.

In an endevour to apprise the parents of Class UKG with the latest teaching learning techniques and strategies adopted by the school to hone the language skills in young Blue Bellians ,  a session on ‘ READ-O-PHONICS ‘ was organized  by the L & D Team as a part of BACK TO SCHOOL SERIES on January 20, 2018 . The session was planned and organized under the inspirational leadership and guidance of  Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy  Director ( Academic Development and Innovation) , BBGS.  

The session aimed to provide the parents with the unique learning environment that their young one’s experience in school.  The session was interactive wherein a number of   fun filled activities like Hop Scotch, Dumb Charades , Cross Word, Rhyming Plane, Mobile Making  and other games were played by the parents . This was the live demonstration of different strategies used during the teaching –learning process to engage, enthuse and empower the students . The parents  also understood the importance of phonic sounds. A skit presented by the teachers of class UKG showcased  an exemplary display of  the skills which the students acquire in a play way method through fun filled games.

A ‘Gallery Walk’ of the work done by the students showing their progression in learning  in the classroom was highly lauded by the parents . The parents were thoroughly engrossed and enjoyed the   fun-filled Team building games  with the Edusports team .

BUIILDING SYMBIOTIC RELATIONSHIP WITH NATURE : ADVENTURE CAMP AT LOHAGARH FARMS

Learning cannot be restricted to just the textbooks and classroom. The school considers educational tours, treks and outings as integral to the child's education . It is deemed desirable that all children participate in such excursions and tours in order to inculcate in them qualities such as independence, confidence, leadership skills and sensitivity towards the environment, geographical and cultural diversity and awareness of the rich cultural and regional heritage that India offers. The school tours not only open the nascent minds to the wider world but also help expose them to different and diverse ways of life thereby developing in them a broad outlook.

As nature can be the best classroom for our young impressionable minds. An outdoor experience with excellent guidance and peers can be the most defining and positive experience in a young life. In sync with the same objective, the school organized a day filled with adventure for the students of Class IX and XI at Lohagarh Farms , Sohna Road on January 20, 2018. The students were divided into different teams mentored by the trained members of the Farms . The students buzzed with enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoyed the team building games and adventure sports like Burma Bridge Crossing , Commando net , Cat walk ,Double ride bridge ,Tarzan swing ,Rope ladders , Archery ,Dart ,Gun shooting ,Animals like emu , hen , pigeon goat etc 

The sumptuous layout of the delicacies for the Breakfast , Lunch and evening snacks was relished by all the members of the school team. It was a day filled with adventure and helped the team to build a strong connect with each other .

FESTIVE FERVOUR AT FEST-O-FUSION 2018

Festivals are the crest of our culture and help in binding the society together. In sync with the same, celebrations at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School have become an integral part of joyful learning, community building and thought provoking processes. The school organized Fest-O-Fusion, an amalgamation of festivals for the parents on January 13, 2018 to mark the festive occasions of Lohri, Makar Sakranti and Pongal which signify the cultural pluralism in India .

The event commenced with Sholka Chanting followed by the Welcome Address by Ms Anjali Nagpal, Principal of the school. The Parents enthusiastically participated in diverse skill-building games like Balance to Triumph, Three-Legged Race, Jump N Hop, Hoola-Hoop-Loop, Lead N Leap, Dribble-Chuckle-Giggle. The highlight of the day was Kite Flying which the parent –child team thoroughly enjoyed .

The occasion was blessed by the radiant presence of Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Honourable Director, BBGS and Madam Saumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academics and Innovation, BBGS. Winners of various games which were a part of the event were felicitated.

LIVE SHOW ON DELHI DOORDARSHAN

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School TEAM  AT A  LIVE SHOW ON DELHI DOORDARSHAN

STAY ALIVE, THINK AND DRIVE ,AS ROAD SAFETY IS A CHEAPER  AND EFFECTIVE INSURANCE.

The school has been actively contributing in sensitizing all the  members specially the students on the need of Road Safety and  adherence of Traffic Rules . The school has been effectively working on different ATL projects including Road Safety. The school has also been campaigning for the same with Gurgaon Police and our students diligently participate in Road Safety Quiz organized by Gurgaon Traffic Police every year.

In recognition to the efforts and work done by  the school on Road Safety , the school team comprising of teachers and students was  invited by Delhi Doordharshan , National TV Channel by Prasar Bharti for a live show  on Traffic Rules & Road Safety. The students and teachers shared the details of their ATL project on Road Safety. The Programme was  aired live from Delhi Doordharshan’s Studio at 3.00 p.m. on DD News and DD National Channel on January 12, 2018. The school team actively participated in  the discussion on how to ensure safety on roads and  follow the traffic rules and regulations. The views of the team members were highly appreciated by the host of the programme and other participating schools.

LOHAGARH FARMS : AN ADVENTURE PAR EXCELLENCE !

Educational Field trips are an integral part of the curriculum at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School . Field trips are organized periodically to broaden the horizons of the students. Children eagerly look forward to their field trips and excursions which provide a right combination of learning and entertainment. They provide ample opportunities to optimize concept development through active and explorative experiences and at the same time enhance their interpersonal skills as they learn to interact with their peers, teachers and other adults outside the realms of the regular classroom.  It also fosters a sense of team work and increase children’s knowledge and understanding of the world in which they live. 

Enthusiasm danced and anticipation beckoned the students of Class VI to VIII when  they were taken for a one day  Adventure Camp to Lohagrah Farms , Sohna on December 28, 2017 . The buses with all the pulsating bundles of merriment were bound camp wards. Joy was outpouring in the buses as the children travelled and their teachers looked on dotingly. The children disembarked at the camp where they were welcomed and were divided into teams, with an escort teacher entrusted for ably scaffolding every team. The day saw the children participating in gripping activities like the commando net, cat walk, rappelling and Archery etc. . The escort teachers led the children to the activities constantly motivating them and egging them on to adept participation. The children lapped up all the excitement and adventure devouring all the fun with their adrenalin doing its rounds. After the activities it was their turn to  dance on foot tapping music played at the  DJ which saw  sparkles of their euphoric performances. 

The spirit of camaraderie was fully brought to the fore. It was a great learning experience for all as these games helped in building team spirit , competition , cooperation & confidence.

GANIT WEEK CELEBRATION

TANTALISING THE ANALYTICAL, LOGICAL & COMPUTING SKILLS: GANIT WEEK CELEBRATION AT Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, SECTOR 10, GURUGRAM

“Mathematic is a way to settle in the mind of children a habit of reasoning”.

To pay tribute to the great Mathematician Sir S. Ramanujam whose 130^th  Birth Anniversary is being celebrated this year, the school organized GANIT Week from December 26-30,  2017. Diverse activities were designed by the Mathematics Faculty members for the students under the motivational leadership of Ms. Arpita Acharya , Vice Principal & HOD-Mathematics , Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School. The main objective was to bring in a fun element and excitement in learning Mathematics with creativity. The students were exposed to the latest tools in Math Practical and were encouraged to implement the philosophy of imagine, investigate and interact. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activities and found it an enriching experience. The day wise activity schedule was religiously followed by the students and they felt exhilarated after completing their projects as it gave vent to their creative skills with the effective blending of Mathematics.

The Opening of the GANIT WEEK- Mega Mathematics Event was on December 26, 2017 with Math-E-Magician , an Intra School Mathematics Quiz for the students of Classes VI to VIII in collaboration with NIIT Ltd.

The Closing Ceremony of the GANIT WEEK was there on December 29, 2017 . The occasion was embellished by the gracious presence of Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, esteemed Director , BBGS who kindly consented to be the Chief Guest . The students of the school presented a crisp cultural program weaving everything around the core theme of Mathematics. They showed the importance of Mathematics in day to day life. The cherry on the cake was the dance presentation by the students showing plotting in graphs as well as Street Play on the importance of Mathematics in day to day life.

The worthy achievers of the activities conducted during the GANIT Week were honoured by Director Madam .

To mark the completion of the fruitful week, the Exhibition put up by the students showcasing their learning of Mathematics in a most innovative and creative manner was whole heartedly appreciated by the students , parents and teachers . The Exhibition was open to the students on December 29, 2017 and parents on December 30, 2017 respectively.

Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools, appreciated the event and expressed that such events need to be more frequently organized as they contribute in enhancing the analytical and cognitive skills of the students.

It was an enriching and rejuvenating experience for all the members.
