Learning takes a center stage at  Blue Bells . The teaching methodology emphasizes on the integrated activity- based approach leading not only to the assimilation of conceptual knowledge but also to the application of the acquired knowledge that enables every child to succeed. The Thematic Approach integrates different subjects helping students to explore all aspects of each subject.  In sync with the same , Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, Sector 10, Gurugram  organized  ‘Learning Unbound Chapter 2017-18 ’ on February 23 & February 24, 2018. The Exhibition focused on ingraining a logical and creative attitude in our young students to make them comprehend the interdependence of various concepts by  hands- on activities.The Event was conceptualized by the Learning and Development Center under the motivational leadership of Madam  Soumya Gulati, Deputy  Director (Academic Development and Innovations), BBGS. The mascot – “Noveo” was unveiled by Madam  . 

The students were also blessed by the gracious presence of Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati , esteemed Director , Blue Bells Group of Schools . Ma’am blessed, encouraged and applauded the efforts of the team for putting up such a grand show.

The Event was aimed at engaging students to synergize their classroom experiences and motivate each other to design and develop something novel. Hundreds of displays dotted all sections of Classes III-V with cent percent participation by the students. Each subject pavilion presented the two themes  ‘Natural Phenomenon and Resources ‘ and ‘How the World Works’  in the most innovative and creative manner .  The parents flocked in large numbers and appreciated the presentations .  They were enthralled by the display of the activities by the students which showcased the learning progression in Classes III to V .  Performing and Visual Arts took to center stage by putting their best foot forward. Hands on experiments,  art and craft and the cultural events comprising of Enactment of Story, Street Play, and Live Singing by the choir and Dances by the students added beauty and ravishing charm to the event. While the Sports pavilion aimed at physical fitness, the Home Science Department made a fine display of healthy food with cooking without fire snacks.

The Health & Wellness Team under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS created an impressive display -  ‘ELIXIR: Find Your Essence’. The stall presented a kaleidoscopic view of various activities, programmes and events for the students, parents and teachers through aesthetically designed Display Boards. The corner added a Midas touch to the event by showcasing a thoughtful mindset.  The parents were thoroughly engrossed and motivated through the inspirational movies that were screened at the School Cinema Movie Theatre. The movies gave an insight on different values, life skills and emotions that need to be understood for the comprehensive approach and growth of an individual.  All activities were based on three major themes – Values, Healthy Diet and Anti Bullying. The parents were mesmerized by the presentation given by the students and earnestly participated in all the activities and games.

Especially created ICT enabled games and Robotics arena showcased the technical aptitude of the students. The corner was put up innovatively under the leadership of Ms. Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director –IT, BBGS. The presentations made by the students were shown to the parents which they heartily lauded . The parents were enthralled by the amount of research done by the students to prepare quiz on computer concepts and ongoing themes. The Robots designed by the school tech geniuses was the centre of attraction for all.

The parents’ appreciation of the Event gave a reflection that it has left an indelible imprint in their hearts. The encouraging   presence of the parents and the ardent support of the school Management and Leaders during the event along with perfect team work and coordination proved a testimony to the fact that Blue Bells provides education that inspires confidence.

TALK SHOW ON DEALING WITH EXAMINATION STRESS

Examinations amongst children are not a modern-day phenomenon. With the competition rising and number of seats not increasing to the same proportion, stress during exams is unfortunately here to stay! Exam stress affects most students in varying ways. It is important to manage this stress and find little ways of helping to eliminate the risk of burnout. 

Exam stress can start when you feel you can't cope with revision, or feel pressure from your school or family. You might worry you’re going to fail or you won't get the grades you need for the course or job you want. To address the issue in an effective manner , Honourable Prime Minister Modi took an initiative by organizing a Talk show , ‘ PARIKSHA PAR CHARCHA’ , on February 16, 2018  from 10.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon. The students were invited to post their relevant questions in not more than 100 words on MyGov platform  from February 6 to February 11, 2018 , and the selected questions from the ones posted were answered by the PM.

The students of the Middle Wing of the school witnessed the programme live on DD National Channel and became a part of this interactive discussion . PM Modi provided a proper support to the students by understanding and addressing their concerns. This is a step in a right direction to help the youngsters cope up with Examination Stress.

THE SHOE PARTY

“When there is kindness, there is goodness. When there is goodness, there is magic.”

In sync with the ongoing theme “Cinderella - Around the world “,a Shoe Party was organized for the students of class UKG on February 16, 2018( Friday) . It was an activity where all the students got an opportunity to have fun and get into the party spirit.

The Activity Room on the ground floor was revamped into a Prince’s castle and the red carpets laid at the entrance of the venue gave a new impetus to the students to enjoy and relish the party.

Soaking in the party spirits, the tiny tots enjoyed the event immensely. The entire room was festooned with colourful streamers and balloons. A brightly decorated horse-drawn chariot and a big wall clock about to strike midnight   placed outside the venue became the spotlight of the event.

All the students of UKG took turns to tap their foot to the tune of Ball dance music. Girls were treated like  the princesses by the boys who posed themselves as the prince charming.  “A Lost Shoe Game” was played where one of the sandals of girls was hidden and their partners had to search for the lost sandal.

It was a mesmerizing experience for the students and teachers.

EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO RAJGHAT

The school organized an educational trip for Class II to Rajghat and Indraprastha Park, New Delhi on February 10, 2018.

The first stop was Rajghat where the students paid homage to the father of the nation, Gandhiji, at his samadhi. Several other samadhis of other famous leaders were in the vicinity of Raj Ghat. Jawaharlal Nehru's Samadhi was to the north of the Raj Ghat, known as the Shanti Vana.

The next stop was Millennium Indraprastha Park, a wasteland at one point that was transformed into a clean, fresh and breath-taking landscape. The park had small knolls all over the area with little beautifully manicured trees perched over them. The garden had a few varieties of Bougainvilleas to offer. With big beautiful trees all around, the most interesting feature was the view of the Humayun’s Tomb from the garden.

The main complex of the garden has the Vishwa Shanti Stupa which was inaugurated in the presence of the Holy Dalai Lama as a mark of world peace. Over 30 feet in height, the Stupa is a white dome surmounted by a golden spire, with Buddhist quotations and teachings adorning it.

 VISIT TO INDIA GATE AND CHILDREN’S PARK

Educational Tours are very important for the overall development of a student. It gives them an opportunity to learn from their own experiences and from the experience of others.

The school organized an excursion for Class I students on February 10, 2018 (Saturday) to India Gate - the monument which dedicated to the Indian soldiers who lost their life in the First World War. Another memorial, Amar Jawan Jyoti was added later to commemorate Indian soldiers who sacrificed their life for the country.  

The students learnt about the historical importance of this war memorial that was designed by Edwin Lutyens in memory of the soldiers. The tiny tots also enjoyed the thrilling rides in Children’s park.  They enjoyed their refreshments and played fun games in the green lawns of the park.  It was a pleasant experience, still afresh in everyone’s mind. It was a day that will leave fond memories for all.

VISIT TO HUMAYUN’S TOMB

“Monuments are the glimpse of our past and show us our beauty of Architecture”

The cultural heritage of a country is immensely precious.  To make the students aware of our country’s rich architectural heritage, an educational trip was organised for the students of Class UKG to Humayun’s Tomb on February 10, 2018.

The students were amazed to see the finest Mughal Garden Tomb in India which is known for its architectural styles and gardens. The Tomb consists of green lush garden at its all sides. They were told that building was first to use its unique combination of red sandstone and white marbles. The students were also sensitized towards the fact that the structure has undergone tremendous deterioration over the years and the conservation work has been completed to restore the Tomb’s Mughal finery.

After taking rounds of the monument, students enjoyed some memorable moments with their friends and teachers amidst serene surroundings. They played many games like Captain Of The Ship, Blob Tag etc and enjoyed their lunch. Light refreshments were also served to the students.

It was indeed a very enriching and enjoyable experience for the tiny tots.

EDUCATIONAL CUM RECREATIONAL TRIP TO LEISURE VALLEY PARK

“ Learning through exploration and fun goes beyond classrooms through excursions and field trips”

A visit to Leisure Valley Park for class Nursery  and  Tau Devilal Park , Gurugram for class LKG  was organized on  January 31  , 2018 (Wednesday) and  February 05, 2018 (Monday) respectively .  The Students were accompanied by their teachers

The students observed various modes of transport and Traffic signals (importance of all 3 lights) on their way to the park .They also discussed various ways of road safety .During the trip, they played different games  organized by the teachers such as “Tug of war”, “Drop the handkerchief” & “Freeze tag” and “Ring-A-Ring-A- Roses” etc. They also enjoyed different races that were organized for them.

The students relished  the walk in the bio diverse park & saw different variety of plants & trees. The trip was not only a fun-filled experience but also facilitated experiential learning.

LES SOUVENIR- THE REMEMBRANCE & GOOD LUCK PARTY

‘Go confidently in the directions of your dreams, and live the Life you have imagined’, this pulsating thought was the eternal motivation for the students of  Class XI when they hosted . “Les Souvenir- The Remembrance” & Good Luck Party  to bid adieu and wish Class XII for a wonderful performance in coming Board Examination on  February 3, 2018 .The event was embellished with the gracious presence of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director ( Health & Wellness), BBGS.  The faculty  and staff members who had always played a pivotal  role in  nurturing the students of class XII were  a part of this emotional moment. The peers, Class XII students ,  dressed ethnically were welcomed  by their hosts, Class XI students who escorted them to the Sita Devi Memorial Multipurpose Hall  where a video and power point presentation reminiscing their momentous past was shown. The Ceremony was conducted solemnly evoking mixed feelings of tear and joy.

This was followed by the Citation Ceremony. The highlight of the function was the beautiful cultural presentation by the  students of Class XI where they beautifully amalgamated  scintillating dance performances, entertaining theatre, melodious songs and  music.  

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director ( Health & Wellness), BBGS , blessed the students and expressed her heartiest wishes to the students to come out with flying colours and glitter like gems throughout their lives. Ma’am  wished them luck to make a mark in the world outside, carrying forth the school motto of ‘Service before Self’.

The Fashion Show for Class XII where the students participated with utmost enthusiasm was the show’s topper. The students walked confidently on the ramp and answered the questions of the judges with utmost ease and confidence . The title of Mr. BBPS and Ms. BBPS  was conferred to   Siddharth Shandilya  and  Adya Varshney  unanimously. Mr. Well Dressed and Ms. Well Dressed title was clinched by  Hritik Sheroan   and  Pakhi Taneja, Mr. Talented and Ms. Talented were Kshitij Kumar and Linima Phalswal , Mr. Evergreen Smile and Ms. Evergreen Smile were Prashorya Negi and Tiyasha Biswas and the most awaited title of Mr. Popular and Ms. Popular was bagged by Parth Batla and Soumya Pandey.  Ms. Anjali Nagpal, Principal of the school ,   took great  pleasure in honouring the achievers  with crowns and sashes amidst reverberating applause. This was a befitting close to  the mélange  of alluring messages and symbolism imprinted forever in the reminiscence  of the school with the would be alumni  relishing the mouth watering buffet  laid in their honour.

All the faculty members wished them ‘All the best’ for their Board Examination and cheered them to move on into new portals of their ensuing journey. It was a fun filled but nostalgic evening for all the members.

VISIT TO BOTANICAL GARDEN

“The capacity to learn is a gift and  the ability to learn is a skill that gets honed by experiences”

Tau Devi Lal Biodiversity and Botanical Park is one of the few big, popular and well-maintained parks of Gurugram. It's spread over an area of about 2 acres and has a 1 km-long jogging track inside. This park has a huge variety of plants and trees.

The students of class II were taken for a field trip to Tau Devi Lal Bio Diversity Park, Gurugram on February 02, 2018. With their little back-packs, the children excitedly boarded the buses and headed to the park. The bright sunny winter morning made the day a perfect one for the outing. On reaching the park, the children saw variety of plants and lush green grass all around. The students observed that the plants were sown in different  plant sections. These sections were well-labelled and easy to identify.

The students could also see different types of trees along with few species of birds. They were able to apply knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom by identifying various types of plants.

The beautiful flora and fauna amidst fresh air made them come closer to nature. This trip helped to broaden student’s horizons and knowledge. The memory of the trip will last forever in the tender minds of the children.

‘Thanks Giving Day’  -UKG

“When we have an attitude of gratitude we wake up saying Thank You”

To express their heartfelt gratitude towards the helpers in different fields, ‘Thanks Giving Day’ was organised for the students of class UKG on February 02, 2018. Doctor, Nurse, Teacher, Advocate, Policeman and an Architect were invited to be a part of the activity.  Ms Anjali Nagpal, Principal of the school  accorded a warm welcome to   the helpers on the behalf of the school . These helpers were the parents (of our students) who shared their valuable experiences and also apprised the students about their roles and responsibilities in the society. The students were excited while they interacted freely with the professionals and also offered Thank You Cards to them as a token of gratitude and respect.

Ms Sushma Malhotra , Primary Wing Incharge , thanked the parents for taking out their precious time and making the event a memorable one. It was overall an enjoyable and a great learning experience for the students and the parents too enjoyed being a part of this interactive and fun filled event .
