A SESSION ON HEALTH & HYGIENE FOR GIRLS

The Health & Wellness Programme of the school believes in holistic development of the students whereby inculcating and infusing healthy habits is a pre-requisite. In sync with the same vision, the school organized a Session on “Health & Hygiene of GIRLS” on August 30, 2018 under aegis of the Health & Wellness Programme. The session was conducted by Dr. Sadhna, a practicing Gynaecologist to empower the young girls about the importance of hygiene in their growing years.

After a brief introduction, Dr. Sadhna introduced the topic “Health & Hygiene for Girls” to the students of Classes V to IX. She asked the students to share their experience regarding the same. Some factors related to puberty like; onset of puberty (between 9-13 years), mood swings, etc. were touched upon briefly. The importance of healthy diet and maintaining proper hygiene was also shared. The general queries of the students were addressed.

The summing up of the topic was done by Ms. Shreya Kumar & Ms. Renu Khare, Counsellors. It was a learning experience for the students.

NATIONAL SPORTS DAY CELEBRATION

National Sports Day is celebrated on August 29 every year to commemorate the birth of the legendary Hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, who is widely considered the greatest hockey player of all time as he had won  gold medals for India at the 1928, 1932 and 1936 Olympics. Known as "The Wizard" for his superb ball control, Dhyan Chand played his Final International Match in 1948. He scored over 400 goals during his International career.

With the country, the school also celebrated National Sports Day on August 29, 2018. The Physical Education Department organized various Fun Races on the field for the students to fill them with a spirit of enthusiasm and imbibe in them Sportsman spirit. The students enjoyed these races and learnt about the importance of the day as well as a unique place occupied by Sports in our life. It not only leads to physical fitness but also is required to maintain good mental health which is pertinent for holistic development.

A VISIT TO LEISURE VALLEY  

“Give Me Time And Space, Freedom From Rules And Structure. I Need You Too…...Let Me Play!”

Excursions can provide them with this much-needed leisure. Field trip is an effective educational activity for students that helps facilitate fast and efficient learning method. While their purpose is essentially to educate, they can also be a fun bonding experience for everyone involved.The students get first-hand knowledge of people and place while participating in an excursion. To learn more about their surroundings, the students of Class Nursery went to Leisure Valley Gurugram on  September 28, 2018  accompanied by their teachers.

The students observed various nature related items and were involved in different activities which aimed at development of various skills. They also discussed various ways of road safety. During the trip, they played different games i.e. “Dance On The Tune, Parachute Game, Blocks, Humpty Race, Bean Bag Race, Let’s Make A Chain And Swings etc. These games helped to develop various skills such as Gross motor, cognitive (Counting done during chain game), and social skills.

The students shared their experience on the reflection sheet. The trip was   a fun-filled experience which facilitated experiential learning.

STRENGTHENING THE  THREAD OF LOVE & COMPASSION  : RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATED UNIQUELY AT  Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, SECTOR 10, GURUGRAM

“Festivals paint the canvas of life with splash of colours that rejuvenate us to eternity.”

India is the land of festivals where each festival spreads a myriad colour of the rainbow and joins everyone with the golden string of love. These festivals not only act as a kaleidoscope of rich Indian cultural Heritage but give a platform to all Indians to be together and rejoice each day.  To connect the young Blue Bellians to their roots, each and every festival in the school is celebrated with utmost zest and zeal.

Raksha Bandhan……..A festival of threads, a day of celebrating fraternal ties, symbolizing the trust and affection that a brother and sister share.  To strengthen this bond, students made beautiful Rakhis and a  packet  of these handmade Rakhis was sent to the valiant  soldiers fighting hard to keep us safe and sound. This was an honest endeavour of the students to salute the commitment of these patriots and showcase their unfathomed  gratitude towards them. With the motif of spreading the message of universal brotherhood and to spread the note of India’s cultural base, unity in diversity, enthusiastic Blue Bellians from the Senior Wing along with their teacher visited BSF Camp  and tied Rakhi, a sacred bond of love to these brave sons of the motherland on August 25, 2018 . They showcased a deep bond  and concern for the well being of these officers who deprive themselves of all the comforts to give us a peaceful and comfortable life.  

The celebration involved a pledge and commitment of life-time practice of moral, cultural and spiritual values to be inculcated for harmony and peaceful coexistence.

A HUMBLE WAY TO REPLENISH THE RESOURCES

Human wants and needs have increased to such a great extent that we are using our resources generously as a result the forest cover of the world has reduced drastically. It is necessary for the present generation to plant more and more trees for replenishing the lost resources. Planting tree saplings is one of the best ways to restore the damage caused by our carbon footprint and  it will go a long way in reducing the global environmental problems being face by us today. 

Sensitivity towards the environment is an important  issue which the school  sincerely addresses.  In an effort to further enhance this learning, the school actively organizes Community Outreach Programmes to sensitize everyone on the core issues so that the change percolates to benefit the society and nation at large. In pursuance of this mission the school organized Earth Day Rally, Swachh Bharat Campaign, Vigilance Week , Cleanliness Drive and Go Green –Eco Drive  with great enthusiasm.

In a unique initiative on August 24, 2018, the students of Classes IX to XII were given a sapling each to be planted at their home and taken care of by  them so that each and every individual can contribute in developing the Green cover and replenish the resources in their own special manner. This was the humble way to give back and rejuevenate our depleting cover of flora .

Rakshanbandhan Assembly : Honoring the Bond Of Love

Celebration of endearing bonds of love, a spirit of harmony and brotherhood was depicted through a special assembly to celebrate Rakshabandhan and Eid “Bond of Love” on Friday, August 24, 2018 by class III B.

The assembly commenced with a sufi rendition by the students adding to the serenity of the occasions. Students presented a skit showing a mythological and historical importance of Rakshabandhan by depicting scenes of tying rakhi between Krishna and Draupadi, King Humayun and Karnawati. The skit also included present day scenario of sending online rakhis insisting upon the importance of celebrating festivals with family making the family connections strong rather than making it a just customary ritual. The assembly presentation was loved by all.

SENSITIZING EVERYONE ON SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL WELL BEING : YOGA SESSIONS FOR THE PARENTS OF THE SCHOOL AT Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, GURUGRAM

‘Yoga is the journey of self , through the self and to the self ’ 

Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition. Yoga is essentially a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. It is an art and science for healthy living. The word "Yoga" is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘yuj’ meaning "to join", "to yoke" or "to unite". According to Yogic scriptures, the practice of Yoga leads to the union of an individual consciousness with the universal consciousness. According to modern scientists, everything in the universe is just a manifestation of the same quantum firmament.

In sync with the mission to sensitize all on the importance of Yoga in attaining physical and spiritual wellbeing,   special Yoga Sessions were conducted for the parents. The parents and teachers of Middle and Primary Wing  earnestly participated in the sessions organized on August 11, 2018 and August 18, 2018 respectively.

The parents were extended a warm, welcome by the school Leadership team. Mr. Dinesh, Yoga Instructor, conducted the Yoga Sessions by demonstrating different asanas like Bajrashana, Makrashana, Bhujangashana etc. confidently and with great agility. The meaning of each body posture and its significance was explained explicitly to the parents. The parents adhered to the instructions and showcased extreme enthusiasm to learn about the art of performing various yogic asanas.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION 2018-19

“Carried With Care, Coated With Pride, Dipped In Love, Fly In Glory, Moments Of Freedom In Shades Of Joy, Proud To Be An Indian …”

The Independence Day is an auspicious day when every patriot feels proud of the checkered past and the immortal sacrifices made by the freedom fighters to free our motherland from the shackles of British imperialism. On this day, the largest democracy of the world celebrates the gift of freedom acquired after a long and arduous struggle in which the sons of the soil sacrificed their lives to herald an independent nation.

To pay homage to these martyrs who sacrificed their life to give us the divine bliss of freedom  , Independence Day was celebrated with utmost fervor by the school on  August 13 ,  2018.  The occasion was graced by Mr. S.N. Batra, General Manager, Corporate Affairs , BBGS.

The programme formally commenced with the welcome address and the Indian tricolour was unfurled in the air by Mr. S. N. Batra . The platoons of the various houses of our alma mater displayed perfect synchronization of movement with the drum beats. The salute to the parade was given by  Mr. Batra , our Esteemed  Guest.  The students of the school presented a colourful cultural extravaganza which was a kaleidoscope of their commitment and dedication towards their nation which included patriotic song, drill, poem and a presentation to promote rich Indian Cultural Heritage . The entire school was soaked in the spirit of festivity and patriotism.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. S.N. Batra highlighted the role of education in empowering the youth so that they can take the baton of government in their hands to take India into a superior surging arena.  The students of the school showcased their commitment of heralding a new horizon for India by presenting ‘ A TRIBUTE TO MARTYRS ’  .

The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Arpita Acharya  ,Vice  Principal, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School in which she expressed her gratitude to all the dignitaries for making the programme a grand success. She also spoke about the significance of the day and expressed her deep reverence for her motherland. It was an elevating and inspiring experience for all.

Independence Day :Salute Thy Nation, Special Assembly by Primary Wing

The Primary Wing of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School , celebrated the Independence Day with gusto. The entire school was festooned with colours of the Indian flag. The corridors were decorated with various works of art by students. Students of Class III A presented a special assembly “Salute Thy Nation” on August 10,2018 . The school choir presented a special rendition to pay homage to the freedom fighters.  The highlight of the assembly was a skit showcasing the role of Army, Navy and Air Force in protecting our borders and how each one of get inspired by their selfless service towards the nation. The assembly concluded with a dance presentation to spread the message of unity in diversity and peace.

DEMONITIZATION: A BOON OR BANE : INFORMATIVE ASSEMBLY BY COMMERCE STREAM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 8, 2016, announced that all currency notes of denominations of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 would be invalid from the midnight of that day. In the 50 days between November 10 and December 30, 2016, Rs 15.44 trillion worth of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes were withdrawn to attack black money, fake currency and terror funding. These notes constitute 86.9% of the value of total notes in circulation at that time. This was the revolutionary move for the Indian economy and was termed ‘DEMONITIZATION‘           by       all. .

‘Demonetization : A Boon or Bane ‘ was the theme around which the Commerce Stream students conducted their Assembly on August 7, 2018 for the students of Classes  IX to XII. All the assembly features like Thought  and News Updates were interwoven around this theme .

The students systematically presented their concept through  varied group performances, which started with  a brief on demonetization and  a presentation on an upcoming Business 'Keventers' .An Open House discussion in form of a News Channels Debate on the topic and how it affected people from all backgrounds was highly lauded by the audience . The presentation closed with a Skit showcasing how the decision to discontinue Rs 1000 and Rs 500 banknotes as legal tender from November 9, 2016 ,  had cause a havoc in the life of common people who had to wait  in long queues for new currency across various banks and ATMs in the country. The highlight  of the Assembly were the Commercials prepared by the students on Harpic Hair Oil, Hit Spray- Mind Booster and Cheeta Drink-Energy Booster etc. to address the issue in an effective manner along with keeping the audience captivated .

It was an informative session which gave a new insight on the effects of demonetization to all .
