ODE TO GRANDPARENTS:GRANDPARENTS DAY CELEBRATED AT  Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School SECTOR 10, GURUGRAM

Grandparents are a family’s greatest treasure and strong foundation. Through their special love and care, grandparents keep a family close at heart. Moving ahead with a goal of nurturing our children as happy, respectful and responsible citizens, the school celebrated Grandparents Day on September 29 , 2018. 

The Grandparents were accorded a warm welcome with the traditional tilak and beautiful greetings made by the students. To invoke the blessings of Almighty and mark the auspicious beginning of the celebration , the event commenced with Diya Lighting and Shloka Chanting. The school choir dedicated a special rendition “We Love You Dear Grandparents”. The budding orators Samidha and Aaina from Class I mesmerised all with a poetical presentation “Krishna Ki Chetaavani”. To pay reverence to our elders Class III D presented a skit  “Ode to Grandparents”. Soulful rendition by Juhi Arora mesmerized all the esteemed guests for the day.

The students of the Primary Wing  prepared for this heartiest tribute towards their Grandparents when they earnestly participated in  Empezar – A Beginning(Health and Wellness Fiesta 2018 -19 )  under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director ( Health & Wellness), BBGS . The theme of the Fiesta was to celebrate the bond of love between grandparents and grandchildren and the students participated in plethora of activities like Greeting CardMaking, Book Mark Making, Collage Making and Creative Writing . The work done by the students was displayed during the Grandparents Day Celebration. Sanjeeta , Health & Wellness Ambassador and Irijiya Kalra , Peer Mentor expressed their sincerest gratitude toward the grandparents .

 The celebration came to the close with a presentation of spiritual Ballad –Katha depicting the life of Shri Krishna. To creatively engage the audience and keep the energy flowing interesting games were played in which all participated with utmost zeal and enthusiasm.

As a part of School Enterprise Challenge, the students of Commerce Stream of Class XI put up a stall with their jewelry and artifacts designed inhouse during the celebration. The stall received a good response from all the visiting parents and grandparents and registered a record foot fall.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, revered Director, BBGS, thanked the grandparents for their valuable contribution in nurturing the children and also for making the event grander with their presence and blessings. Ma’am urged all the grandparents to work on developing beautiful bond and association within the family so that it can create happy ambience for growth and development of the future of the nation.

STUDENTS’ ENTERPRISE CHALLENGE PROGRAMME

Students’  Enterprise Challenge is a part of School Enterprise Challenge ,  a  new initiative of the school . A  project was  taken up by the Commerce Stream students of Class XI.  Teachers acted as facilitators of the project, with students being given the opportunity to take the lead in decision making. The students were given the chance to experience lots of areas of the business beyond production, such as marketing, sales and accounting.

The students and teachers had done a thorough market research and decided the logistic of products, manufacturing and publicity. The students of class XI  (Commerce Stream) went all the way to Chandni Chowk to get the best of the material for preparing the jewelry . The inventory also included stock from previous year. The team organized an Exhibition-cum-sale for the members of the school on September 29, 2018 .

 Our soft spoken ever smiling marketing team managed to earn a sale of our 7000 which implied a profit of Rs 5000. The students got an encouraging response when they bagged large number of orders  from parents, fellow students and even teachers. The most awaited  moment was when our revered Director Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati willingly purchased shares of Virasat – The Heritage  Hub and gave us the giant order of ornaments for the Annual Day Function along with a promise to  provide  with the raw materials. The overwhelming response and the overflowing order encouraged our ever enthusiastic team to prepare better products with improved quality and strength. The Challenge also helped the  school to  generate extra income for a social cause of their choice.

VISIT TO TAU DEVILAL PARK

School Field Trips are important to help bridge the gap between education and hands-on experience. Field trip is an effective educational activity for students that helps facilitate fast and efficient learning method. Taking students into a new environment gives them the experience of traveling in a group and teaches them to be respectful of the locations they visit . In sync with the same, Avisit to Tau Devilal Park, Gurugram was organized for LKG class students on  September 28,  2018 to enjoy nature’s beauty.  The students enjoyed the walk in the bio diverse park & saw different variety of plants & trees. They also played several games organized by the teachers such as “Tug of war”, “Passing the ball & “Treasure hunt” in the group.

The LKG students learnt about different plants, flowers, fruit trees & gardening. Students become scientists by using their five senses to explore and observe the natural world. They gained live experience of realizing nature’s beauty & benefits to health. Teachers organized many group activities that allowed students to explore, discover & play in garden. They shared their experience in the reflection sheet. It was such a fascinating experience for the students that they learned along with joy.

‘Empezar’: A Beginning,  Health & Wellness Fiesta 2018-19

Education is an integral process which harmonizes book learning with direct life experience and instructs students in the art of living their lives as successful individuals. We, at Blue Bells uphold a perfect fusion of traditional and modern values for holistic personality development to fulfil the vision and mission of the school – “to churn out socially and ethically responsible citizens of the country”.  In sync with the same vision ,  ‘Empezar’: A Beginning was hosted under the aegis of The Health & Wellness Programme of the school spearheaded by Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness) , BBGS on September 19, 2018. This year’s theme was to celebrate the bond of love between grandparents and grandchildren

This annual feature of the school for the students of Primary Wing  included a plethora of activities like Greeting Card Making, Book Mark Making, Collage Making and Creative Writing.  Various theme like,  ‘Gratitude towards Grandparents’, ‘My special time with my Grandparents’ and ‘My bond of love with my Grandparents’ were shared with the students to mark the befitting beginning of the celebration of Grandparents Day.

The work done by the students will be displayed during the Grandparents Day Celebration later in the month. This is an earnest endeavour of the Health & Wellness Team to root the students to our rich cultural heritage where elders in the family hold a prominent position.

FESTA LITERARIA – A LITERARY SOJOURN 2018 HOSTED BY Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, SECTOR 10, GURGAON

Literature is the expressed influence of communities and societies. It spans culture, beliefs, and attributes the necessary component for corroborating how literature reflects, and portrays communities. In an attempt to create sensitivity towards literature and appreciate it in its varied moods and genres, Festa Literaria- Lit Fest was organized for the students of the Primary Wing from September 17 to 21, 2018. Mrs. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director (Academic Development and Innovation), BBGS was the inspiration and guiding force of this magnificent literary journey. She whole heartedly supported the students and the teachers to concretize their dream to reality.

As literature builds experience, the children expanded their horizons through various activities spread over a week. Plethora of activities conducted for the students of Classes I to V aimed at enhancing listening and speaking skills. Speech Craft, My Favourite Infomercial, Adjective Draw and Story Telling were few of the activities conducted across all the sections.

The students of Class V participated in “My Favourite Infomercial”, students like to measure and evaluate. They were shown two commercials or infomercials for similar products, while listening for details about the products. Then they were asked to compare and contrast the products and make a recommendation on which was better

Class IV students took part in “Listen and Draw” , where the facilitator narrated the story to them and they drew different scenes based on what they heard. This helped to enhance not just linguistic skills but also creative skills along with aesthetic abilities.

Class III took part in “Adjective Draw” , each student was given pieces of paper.  The teacher gave an adjective / noun combination and the students were  asked to draw it (e.g draw a long pole, draw a big house, etc.). 

To conclude the weeklong annual English language event, a special assembly “Resonance” was conducted by the students of Club – Expressive Vibes on October 10, 2018.The assembly commenced with the regular features like school prayer, pledge and news. To highlight the importance of Communication skills mainly the listening and speaking skills students presented various programs like storytelling, speech and English song. The entire week of Literary activities helped the students understand the essence of effective communication in the ever growing world with countless opportunities to excel.

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School PERFORMED MAJESTICALLY IN PARICHAY –       AN INTER SCHOOL COMPETITION AT THEMAURYA SCHOOL

‘Any transition is easier if you believe in yourself and your talent.’

A moment of immense pride and happiness when our students from the Primary Wing of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School showcased their talent and skills and bagged the coveted Overall Trophy at an Inter School Competition “Parichay – The Talent Buzz” organized by The Maurya School, Gurugram on September 15, 2018 for the second consecutive year.

Our little ones won the hearts of all with their oratorical might, creativity and technical knowledge. Manasvi Tiwari (LKG ) bagged First Prize in Rhymomania

And Navya Kumari( UKG) bagged Second Prize in Verse-A-Tale.

The budding artists mesmerised all with a splash of their painting brushes and brought laurels by getting Winners’ trophies Vibhav Sharma (LKg) bagged First Prize in Twinkling Nightscape and Daksh Yadav ( III B ) bagged First Prize in Arty Bite – Tikuli Art.

Our students Diya Thakur (IV D ) and Seerat Chauhan ( IV C ) also proved their mettle in IT challengeand bagged Second Prize in Technomania- Scratch . The school team bagged five Prizes in different categories and were lauded for their stupendous performance not only by judges but by the members of all participating schools. 

The Management , Director and Vice Principal congratulated the achievers for their magnificent feat.

“Hamari Bhasha Hamari Dharohar”

It was on 14^th September in the year 1949 that the Constituent Assembly of India adopted Hindi written in Devanagari script as the official language of the Republic of India. To mark the day and show appreciation for the language Hindi Saptah was celebrated in the Pre-Primary and the Primary Wing of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School from September 10 -14, 2018 . The aim of the event was to enhance literary aptitude of the students.  An array of activities like “Vaad-Vivaad Partiyogita ,Kahani Lekhan , Kavita Path , Muhavaron ka Khel were conducted with the motive to enhance the linguistic skills and make the learning more enjoyable.

The Hindi Week was declared open by the Primary Wing Incharge Ms Sushma Malhotra by lighting the auspicious lamp and Sholka Chanting by the school choir.  A special assembly “Hamari Bhasha Hamari Dharohar” was also conducted by the students of Hindi Club “Jigyasa” during the week stressing on the importance of Hindi our official language . The assembly commenced with Saraswati Vandna followed by a melodious song highlighting the relevance of Hindi language in the modern era and about how this language is the soul of our rich Indian culture. Nukkad Natak “Dhara Ka Sanrakhshan” was the main presentation of the event. The Primary Wing Incharge congratulated the Hindi Department for putting up a great show. The presentations were appreciated by one and all present at the event.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION: THE MENTORING MINDS, A TRIBUTE TO ALL GURUS

‘A teacher’s purpose is not to create students in his/ her own image, but to develop students who can create their own image.’

A Guru is Bramha who creates knowledge, Guru is Vishnu who sustains the knowledge and the Guru is Shiva who dispels the darkness of ignorance. Ours is a country of glorious teachers and students ...Swami Ramkrishna Paramhans and Vivekanand, TirthnakAr Mahavir and Gautam Gandhar and of course we all students of  Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.

To celebrate and honor the selfless contribution of the teachers a special assembly “The Mentoring Minds” was conducted by the Students’ Council  members of the Senior Wing and Primary Wing on September 5, 2018 .

The students accorded a warm welcome to the teaching fraternity . The students recited a poem in appreciation of the facilitators followed by a brief talk on the significance of Teacher’s Day.  Thereafter, the students announced the tags for their teachers and gifted them a handmade card with the tag written on it as an expression of gratitude. The students recorded the observation of about their teachers and showed some videos recorded in the school which left all the teachers feeling nostalgic and emotional.  After the assembly, the students of class XII took up the responsibility of ‘teaching’ the students for three periods as per the tradition of the alma mater.

To mark the occasion, the new members of the school presented a crisp cultural programme which provided a platform to them to exhibit their innate potential. It was a day when all the members of the school were engrossed in plethora of activities which rejuvenated them in totality.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, esteemed Director , BBGS , congratulated all for putting up a good show. Ma’am wanted all the teachers to contribute effectively in making the learning atmosphere of the school conducive for growth and development which would further  be reflected in the happy faces of the students with an earnest desire to excel.

Janmashtami Celebration

ENLIGHTENING THE STUDENTS ON THE PREACHING OF SHRI BHAGWAT GITA

To add to the festive fervor and to mark the auspicious occasion of Krishna Janamashtami, a special assembly “Geeta Saar” was conducted by the students of Class III-C on August 29, 2018 . The assembly commenced with the regular features like school prayer, pledge and news. To highlight the importance of Lord Krishna’s teachings through Geeta students presented a skit showcasing the lessons learnt from the religious text. The skit aimed at selfless service and delivering duties unconditionally for the betterment of the society.

The students of Class I-B also presented a special assembly for the students of Pre-Primary Wing on September 03, 2018.  A special swing was made for celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna. A stage presentation showing the starting of Shri Krishna’s life added to the celebrations. The assembly concluded with a dance presentation celebrating the festival with high spirits.

SUCCINT DISPLAY OF A SPORTSMANSHIP:A RENDEZVOUS WITH SPECIALLY ABLED CRICKET TEAM ORGANIZED AT Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, SECTOR 10, GURUGRAM

We, at Blue Bells ,  believe in giving adequate importance to sports and games so that our young buds develop their Kinesthetic skills which will instill a sense of discipline , fellow –feeling and togetherness. In sync with the same objective, the school had organized a rendezvous between the budding cricketers of Blue Bells Group of schools and members of different abled Cricket Team on August 30, 2018. Cricket has helped and played a phenomenal role for the differently-abled to overcome the social barriers and gain better self-confidence to a great extent.

 It was an earnest endeavour of the school to connect these players to the students of the school. A Special assembly was organized where there was a perfect fusion of music , dance and street play. Mr. Ravinder Pal , Captain of the India Differently Abled Cricket Team addressed the students and spoke about his journey and struggle  to get in a position to play for Indian Team . He told everyone to hold on to their dreams and then channelize all the energy towards tranquilizing the dream to reality .

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, esteemed Director , BBGS, thanked the visiting team for sparing  their valuable time and motivating the students with their spirited presence. Director Madam felicitated  the members of Differently Abled Indian Cricket Team by presenting Cheques and gifts to them.
