Blue Bells Voices Global Concern

Being a New Age School, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School believes that it is indispensable to provide International exposure to its students esp. when it is a global concern.

Yesterday i.e. on 18/02/2020, the students of Class V had a Skype session with the students of Md. Abdus Salam Madrasah Sylhet,Bangladesh. It was an ISA project on ‘Lost Art of Bangladesh and India’. According to Blue Bellians irresponsible and immature usage of technology is the main reason due to which we have lost our very own ‘MANDANA’ Art.

Mandana paintings are wall and floor paintings of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.Mandanas were drawn to protect homes and hearths and invite Gods to the houses whereas Bangladeshi Students expressed deep concern over the loss of Shital Pati and Alpana (The folk Art of Bangladesh).

Alpana refers to colourful motifs, sacred art or painting done on auspicious occasions with hands and paint which is mainly a paste of rice and flour. The students from both the nations gave their creative inputs to save the heritage. The whole session lasted for 25 Minutes and it was conducted in the attentive supervision of Madam Sneha, Madam Madhu Talwar and Kartik Sir. It is undoubtedly a significant step on the part of our school to provide firsthand knowledge about the culture and concern of our neighbouring country and it is needless to say that our students enjoyed it the fullest.

VISIT TO INDIA GATE AND CHILDREN'S PARK

An excursion is not just a pleasure trip; it enhances the knowledge of the students beyond the four walls of the classroom.

At Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, we strive to inculcate the qualities of empathy and compassion in our students who will be responsible future citizens of this society. We,  therefore, engage them in philanthropical activities.

On Feburary’15, the children of class UKG , accompanied by their teachers, went on an excursion to India Gate and Children’s Park. Excitement was in the air as the children prepared to leave for the day. Before leaving, the children were given a brief about the monument. They were told that it was a memorial built in honour of Indian soldiers who had died in battle. The children were shown the ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti’ (the flame of immortal soldiers) which burns in a shrine under the arch of the India Gate. Students were also taken to Children’s Park.Located adjacent to India Gate, this is a park designed especially for children & has always been a wholesome family entertainment destination for almost four decades. This is an amusement park which is first of its kind in Delhi.Students had a lot of fun riding on the swings.

All the students shared their lunch with their friends and were served with Sandwich and Oreo biscuits.

Students reached school at 2.40 P.M. The trip was a fun-filled experience but also facilitated experiential learning.

Rubik’s Cube Challenge

At Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, we believe that every child is blessed with creativity which needs some form of expression.

To encourage students with problem solving abilities and help sharpen their reflexes, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School recently organised an Intra-school Rubik’s Cube Challenge.

It was delightful to see the school’s best cubers go head-to-head in the fastest mind-gaming competition. To add to the excitement, all rounds of the championship were conducted as one-to-one matches in best-of-five rounds.

The champions were Aryan Taneja (VIII D) who won the First Prize,  Siddhant Kumar (VII D) Second Prize-winner and Anand Goyal (VII B) who won the Third Prize.

 

Webinar- Bully To Buddy Campaign

The Health & Wellness Programme of the school, under the mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness) BBGS, has collaborated with Fortis Healthcare and launched Bully to Buddy Programme for classes VI- XII. The objective of the Programme is to make the school a bully free school, so that all the students feel safe.

Bully to Buddy is a prevention and intervention programme designed to combat bullying experiences in schools under the aegis of Dr. Samir Parikh, Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences, Fortis Healthcare, Gurgaon.

In sync with this a Webinar was organized for students of classes VI-VIII on November 29, 2019 and classes IX to XI on December 10, 2019. It was conducted by Dr. Samir Parikh. He addressed the students and discussed several important aspects of Bullying. This interactive session aimed at building awareness, sensitization and an understanding on the scope of the project- Bully To Buddy.

Dr. Samir discussed some basic skills and tools to tackle the phenomenon of bullying. He told the children that they are young and have a wholesome life ahead, so it’s important to join hands against bullying. He also motivated the students to pledge that they will not let Bullying happen in their School.

Dr. Samir touched upon the following:

· What is Bullying?

· Kinds of Bullying Direct, Indirect and Cyber

· Who does Bullying?

· Why does Bullying happen?

· Impact of Bullying- physical, mental, emotional

He emphasized that Peer Support helps a lot in such situations. He told the children that they have a big role to play in combating Bullying and it’s important to come forward to help. Here, he motivated the students to create Anti Bullying Squads, organize competitions and activities to involve and sensitize students more and more, to fight this menace.

The session ended with a Question – Answer Session, wherein students raised some questions and Dr. Samir answered them.

It was an enriching experience for all.

VIAGGIO MEMORABILE-2020

The students, staff and management of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School bade a fond farewell to the outgoing students of Class XII on 12 February 2020.

The farewell, which was organised by Class XI students, was to honour their seniors and wish them all the very best for their future.

The programme got off to a wonderful start with a welcome song performed by the juniors for their seniors. This was followed by many other performances that showcased the talent of the Class XI students. Some if these included melodic singing, western dance, a stand-up routine, ramp walk and fun games. The singing and dancing had everyone tapping their feet with the most popular being the Bhangra which was performed with great gusto.

The cultural performances were followed by many thought-provoking speeches by the juniors and sharing of memories of the time spent with the seniors of the school and wishing them well. Many of these left everyone teary-eyed.

Much fun was had at the farewell party which was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the school campus. This was also an occasion for the XII class students to look back at their time in school and appreciate the knowledge that they gained and the values that they were taught.

The Principal, Mrs. Chandan Dhawan passed on the ‘light of wisdom’ to all the students and at the end Vice Principal Mrs. Arpita Acharya blessed the students and advised them to gear up for their upcoming exams.

It was a power packed show cherished by all.

VISIT TO RAIL MUSEUM

An order visit with classmates always has a special appeal. The tiny tots of classes Nursery and LKG were taken for a fun-filled trip to the National Rail Museum (Delhi) on Saturday, February 1^st, 2020. Upon reaching the museum, the students were delighted to be welcomed by a beautiful engine. After a refreshing walk the students were enthralled by the sight of the toy train and couldn’t contain their excitement as they queued up in a disciplined manner and boarded the toy train. As the toy train crossed various engines and coaches and passed through a tunnel, the jubilant students clapped and cheered. Thereafter, they explored the museum and saw different beautiful engines and coaches. They shared their lunch with their friends and were served with light refreshments.

The visit hence proved to be a most significant one.

SEEKING DIVINE BLESSINGS

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School believes 'Havan' cleanses the minds of the students and neutralizes pre exam nervousness, which in turn raises their performance. In the wake of same, our school organized 'Havan on February 11,2020 to seek the divine blessings of the Almighty for the students appearing in class 10th &12th board examinations. Teachers and students participated in the Havan with an utmost respect and devotion. Teachers conveyed their blessings by applying Tilak to all the students. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Hon’ble Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools, Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal and Vice-Principal Madam Arpita Acharya extended their best wishes to the students and gave them valuable tips to succeed in life.

Investiture Ceremony

With great power comes great responsibility.

At Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, we provide our young students ample opportunities to take up new responsibilities on their shoulders that would make them influencers, leaving a strong impact on the masses. We recently organized an Investiture Ceremony on February 11, 2020 which witnessed the proud coronation of young leaders as the members of the student council. The students expressed their gratitude to the school for being bestowed with such a responsibility and took up their new roles with their heads held high. It was indeed a moment of great pride for the parents of the achievers who were recognized for their promising leadership and extraordinary contribution to the school.

Citation Ceremony

The Citation ceremony is a mega event held every year to give recognition to the talents of the outgoing students and to encourage them to hone their skills and flourish in times to come. Each student appearing for the class XII board exam is felicitated with a citation during the ceremony. The framed citations highlight their talents and achievements in the years gone by. The Principal Ms.Chandan Dhawan  along with the Chief Guest presented the students with the citations while wishing them the very best in life. In her address she told them that this is the deciding year for their future & they should confidently appear in the exams without any stress & tension. She advised them to put in their best efforts. Ms.Arpita Acharya, Vice Principal  proposed vote of thanks and  wished them luck for their upcoming Board Exams.

Citation Ceremony for Class XIIth was organized at Blue Bells Public   School on February 11 2020. The Chief Guest for the Ceremony was Dr.Saroj Suman Gulati, revered Director of Blue Bells Group of Schools.
