Multiple Intelligence Day Camp 

 ‘Every child has various intelligences and talents. Understanding a child’s unique skill set is important to guide them for the future.’

Students learn to discover the world within. They embark on a path of self-discovery by opening up to new experiences and realise that they are amazing. We, at Blue Bells, understand that making learning an adventure is just as important as academic learning. Our aim is not to teach but help each child discover. In sync with this thought, a “Multiple Intelligence and Adventurous Activities” Day Camp was organised at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, Sector 10 on Friday, 28 February 2020 for Classes UKG to II. The objective of the camp was to give a meaningful and enjoyable experience to students to help them discover their own unique strengths, build their self-esteem and become confident. The idea behind ‘My Strong Intelligences – My Pathways to Success’ was to create an awareness of the eight intelligences present in each one of us and also start the students on the process of discovery. The eight multiple intelligences are visual, musical, logical, social, verbal, intrapersonal, naturalist and bodily-kinesthetic.

Students were engrossed in various activities through the day such as Rock Climbing, Art Zone, Dance, Patterns, Pottery, Magic with Science and Coding the Mouse. The activities enabled students to use logic, body movements and effective communicative language to express and explore ideas and thoughts. All the activities were conducted under the guidance of experts.

It was a entirely fun experience for students. They were also given a participation gift and enjoyed their  juice and candy floss.

New Student Council 2020- Primary Wing

Formation of Student Council helps the students to explore their capabilities to undertake responsibilities and also prepares them for the future.

The Investiture Ceremony of the Primary Wing for the academic year 2020-21 was held on February 28, 2020.

On this special day, the choir gave fabulous presentation of a melodious and inspiring song ‘Hall of Fame’ which perfectly suited the event. The representatives of all four houses spoke about the significance of their respective houses.

It was a spectacular sight when the Council members of all the four Houses marched in unison with heads held high and their eyes focused ahead truly exhibiting unity and discipline.

The newly appointed Council Members were adorned with sashes and badges by Honourable Principal Madam Chandan Dhawan and Vice Principal Ms Arpita Acharya. Ms Rima Gaekwad, Primary Wing Incharge administered the oath to the council members and expressed her wish that they would discharge their duties with integrity, faith and excellence.

Yatharth Gaur and Samya Sharma were declared the Head Boy and Head Girl respectively for the new session. The young, spirited and zealous council members were all set to take up the responsibilities entrusted to them.

Karate champion of the Primary Wing Sanchpreet Singh was honoured with several medals he won during different championships and was applauded by the audience for this great feat. The Olympiad Medals for all the subjects were given away by Ms Rima Gaekwad. She congratulated all the achievers for their success and setting a good example to their peers.

Skype Session with Indonesia

Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and now Indonesia - Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School believes in widening its students experience and increasing their first-hand knowledge through active engagements in as many ways as possible.

In continuation of its ‘Skype Classroom’ Class X students of the school interacted, over Skype, with students of SMK Negeri 1 Sononsayang Vocational School, Indonesia on 28 February 2020.

The topics covered during the session were agriculture and sustainable development in neighboring countries and specific information was shared on indigenous crops of each country including cinnamon, bay leaf, walnut, wheat, cardamom and fenugreek. Students also shared details of the most recent research in the field of agriculture.

It was really encouraging for students of both countries to discuss and think through strategies to combat common challenges. Indonesian students also expressed concern over the recent locust infestation in India.

The session, which lasted for one hour, was a fulfilling and enriching one and which students enjoyed to the fullest.

Skype in Classroom

Blue Bells students engage in ‘Skype in Classroom’ with students from Sri Lanka

‘Skype in Classroom’ is a popular communication programme that is used by the students of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School to engage on important issues with a wide range of people who are not available in person.

Under this programme, a Skype Conference on Socio-economic Development in Agriculture was organised on February 25, 2020 with students of Pahan Institute of Language and Technology, Sri Lanka. During the interaction students of Blue Bells talked to Sri Lankan students about the agricultural practices, cash crops and irrigation patterns of India. They also spoke to them about indigenous fruits and vegetables grown here. Sri Lankan students in turn shared the unique practices and achievements of their country in the field of agriculture. Students of both countries then exchanged information on the initiatives taken up by their respective governments towards sustainable development.

Vice Principal Mrs. Arpita Acharya was appreciative of the camaraderie shared by the students of both schools. She also encouraged students to have more Skype sessions around collaborative projects.

PARENTS HELPERS MEET ACTIVITY

“The Beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you .”

The method of experiential learning is the need of the hour and keeping this in mind, an activity of Parents Helpers Meet was organized for the students of class UKG on  FEB,24 2020.

The Parents ( of the students) from different professions were invited to make the students acquainted  with their roles and  responsibilities. The Doctor, Nurse, Teacher, Chef and a Police Officer were invited in the school campus ; they addressed the students and shared valuable information  about their work ,the tools that they use and their place of work. Students were excited and interacted freely with the parents, they also asked questions about their professions.

The activity concluded with the vote of thanks by a student, a short thankyou speech was given. Thank You Cards, a flower and a chocolate was presented to all the Helpers as a token of respect. It was a great learning experience for students and the parents too enjoyed being a part of this interactive and fun filled activity.

‘ MINI SPORTS ZEST’

“Talent wins race, but Intelligence and team work wins Championships’’

It is truly observed that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body, so games should be practised on a regular basis among all the students. Sport develops a sense of friendliness among the children and develop their team spirit. It helps children to develop mental and physical toughness. Sport shapes their body and make it strong and active.

Champions are made from something they have deep inside them – a desire,a dream and a vision..

Sports have been the mainstay in millions of lives for over the years. Sports events have been instrumental in developing a sense of friendliness and team spirit among the children.

The Pre- Primary Wing of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School presented a ‘Mini Sports Zest’ on Feburary 21,2020 in the school ground. The students from classes Nur-II participated in the event with great zeal and enthusiasm.

The occasion was blessed with the pristine presence of Madam Chandan Dhawan, the assistant director, Blue Bells Group of Schools. Madam Rima Gaekwad graced the occasion as the primary wing-in-charge.

Dhawan Ma’am declared the sports meet by untying the clapper. The celebration of the sports fiesta commenced by invoking the blessings of the divine with Gayatri Mantra and a welcome song by the choir group. The ground was decorated with flags, buntings and props adding to the fervor.

The students of classes Nur-II competed class wise in various events including theme bases sprints, obstacle race and relay race etc. The tasks were integrated with different subjects to enhance kinesthetic, loco motor, cognitive, balancing spatial and visual skills etc. A mesmerizing parachute drill was also done by the students.

Madam Chandan Dhawan felicitated the winners with medals and congratulated the students for the marvelous presentation and wish all the Blue Bellians to have rich sportsman spirit. Ms Rima Gaekwad thanked everyone for their efforts for making the event a grand success.

The event concluded with the National Anthem. The vibrant performances of the students were heartily appreciated and applauded by all.

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School Kickstarts New Session

After the successful completion of Academic Year 2019-2020, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School commenced the new session with a bang today.

Students assembled in the Seminar Hall and began the new session with a prayer to Goddess Saraswati to seek her divine blessings. Vice Principal Mrs. Arpita Acharya addressed the assembly and congratulated the students on their promotion to the next class. She talked to them about the importance of target-based studies, different ways to improve their academic performance while paying equal attention to sports and co-curricular activities as well as other valuable secrets to success. The teachers’ encouragement gave the students a lot of confidence.

The first assembly of Session 2020-21 concluded with the National Anthem.

Visit to ‘Waste to Wonder Park'

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School organised an educational trip to the ‘Waste to Wonder Park’, New Delhi for students of class I on 15th February 2020. This is the world’s first theme park to replicate all seven wonders of the world using waste products.

Spread over seven-acres, this unique park houses miniature replicas of Taj Mahal (India), Eiffel Tower (France), Leaning Tower of Pisa (Italy), Statue of Liberty (USA), Rio Redeemer (Brazil), Great Pyramid of Giza (Egypt), and The Colosseum (Italy).

The students spent an awe-inspiring and thrilling morning walking amidst the replicas and getting lessons on sustainability. They learnt about the solar panels as well as 3 windmills installed in the park all of which help make the park self-sufficient for running on renewable energy.

Students soaked in the beauty of these world-renowned monuments and absorbed the message that the park imbibes – recycling waste and embracing renewable energy for a sustainable and environment friendly future.

Adobe Spark Workshop for Teachers

There is no denying in the fact that Education is a never-ending process. It doesn’t stop after earning a degree and starting a career. Through continuing education, career-minded individuals can constantly improve their skills and become more proficient at their jobs. Therefore it is important for school administrators to encourage teachers to pursue professional development, not only to ensure the best learning outcomes for their students but also to be more effective and satisfied in various other aspects of their work. In the sync with the same, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School organised an Adobe Spark workshop for the teachers on 19/02/2020 in School premises.

The teachers were explained how to create and share impactful Videos,Webage, the ways to express ideas and the techniques of  creating stunning social graphics.

The session lasted for one hour and the response of the teachers was praiseworthy. After the session, the teachers raised their queries and the common problems faced by them. Their queries were addressed thoroughly and finally the vote of thanks was proposed by Madam Anju Luthra,Senior IT Faculty. All in all, it was a great learning session for the teachers which they enjoyed to the fullest.
