WORLD HEALTH DAY

The world is a much better place to live when our health is in place. World Health Day is celebrated on 7 April every year by people across the globe. The day assumes an even greater significance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has made us fully realise the importance of health and opting for a healthy life.

A special assembly was organised by Kalpana Chawla House on April 7, 2022 to commemorate World Health Day. Madam Arpita Acharya (Officiating Principal) welcomed Dr. Shashi Yadav, the esteemed guest on the occasion and encouraged the students to make healthy choices to remain fit. Through an informative PowerPoint Presentation, students were sensitized about the ways in which they can remain active and fit by following a good diet and a fitness regime. The students of Grade V spoke on the theme 'Our Planet, Our Health' given by WHO for World Health Day 2022. Even our tiny-tots from Grades Nursery-II made beautiful posters depicting the theme.

In an interactive session, Dr. Shashi Yadav (Parent Doctor) addressed the students on this special occasion and shed light on the importance of healthy eating habits for a healthy life.

Primary Wing Leader, Ms. Meenakshi Malhotra, also reiterated that a healthy lifestyle is a must for a healthybody. It was an informative and enriching session.

TRANSITION SESSION FOR CLASS V

“Each transition in life is an opportunity to look at who you are, where you are headed and what you want to become.”

Graduating from Primary to Middle School is a major change every student faces. At the same time, they are adjusting to the social changes that happen around them. To address the concerns of the young adolescents and provide appropriate information, the Health & Wellness Programme of the school organized a ‘Transition Session’ for the students on April 7, 2022. The session is an indigenous initiative under the inspirational mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools.

The aim of the session was to prepare the students for the transition from Class V to VI. Dr. Alka addressed many feelings of the students which they had related to moving to a new wing and shared ways in which they can adapt effectively to the change which is pertinent to growth. The students shared concerns about making friends with new classmates as their classes would get shuffled and also how would they prepare for a three-hour written examination. Ma’am provided proper hand holding and suggested ways to cope with these changes. These appealed to the students as their concerns were addressed and answered.

Ms. Swati Nagpal and Ms. Priyanka Chaturvedi, Health & Wellness team members,  apprised the students about the Health & Wellness Programme followed in the Middle Wing. Ms. Pooja Bhalla from the Examination Department gave a brief about the changes and addition of subjects, activities, and the Evaluation and Assessment Scheme as per CBSE directives. The Peer Educators from Class VII , S. Sirish Sunderam , Dishita Sharma, Yatharth Gaur and Mansi Chauhan,  also shared their last session’s experience. The students briefed their juniors about their apprehensions and how they managed everything effectively with the support of Life Skills and scaled through the transition phase easily. 

Ms. Meenakshi Malhotra, Primary Wing In-charge congratulated the students for their performance in class V and encouraged them to carry forward this legacy to the next class.  Ms. Sunita Kaul, the Middle Wing In-charge warmly welcomed the students and introduced them to the subject teachers of Class VI which helped them to relax and feel comfortable. Ms. Arpita Acharya , Officiating Principal of the school showered her good wishes and blessings with the students. The school team assured the students that they would not only get the support of their new teachers but also their previous teachers as well. It is one of the constructive steps taken by the Health & Wellness team to help the students understand and adapt the changes with ease.

WELCOME ASSEMBLY FOR GRADES VI TO IX

The students of Grade XII (all sections) worked together as a team and presented a melange of thoughts, ideas, and expression in the Assembly as they welcomed the students of Grades VI to IX back to school. A Morning Assembly undoubtedly holds a significant position out of all the routine activities in school. It's one of the first platforms which is provided to young minds, boosting their confidence towards public speaking and imbibing a feeling of team spirit in their nascent minds.

The theme of the assembly was 'Cherishing the New Beginnings'. The assembly commenced with the Morning Prayer which is believed to provide peace and serenity to our minds and souls. It was followed by a mesmerizing talk on the theme along with the regular features. The assembly delivered a strong message that we can make the most of the new beginnings by putting our best foot forward.

A session on ‘How to Overcome Internet Addiction & Related Psychological Factors Among Children After the Pandemic’ was conducted by Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director, Health & Wellness, Blue Bells Group of Schools at the Premier Schools Exhibition, Gurgaon, on March 12,2022.

The objective of the session was to make the parents aware about the impact of Internet Ad-diction on the health of the children. Dr. Saxena discussed how to identify the addiction & the steps that can be taken to deal with it. Following digital rules at home, digital fasting, 20-20-20 rule & digital free zones at home were some of the favourite takeaway tips from the session.

The Q&A session helped everyone to clarify their concerns and gain more information about the topic.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME (PRIMARY WING

We, at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, believe that teachers and parents need to collaborate and work hand-in-hand to provide the best learning experience to the students. With this aim, an Orientation Programme was organised for the parents of Classes III-V on April 2, 2022. The Programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp along with the chanting of Gayatri Mantra. The parents were accorded a warm welcome by the Officiating Principal, Ms. Arpita Acharya and the Primary Wing Leader, Ms. Meenakshi Malhotra. Thereafter, they were acquainted with the teaching pedagogy, curriculum, evaluation process, Health and Wellness Programme, safety and security and co-scholastic activities of the school. The presentation on ‘Design Thinking’ by the students received plaudits from the parents and it reassured their faith in the efforts of school to keep pace with the latest pedagogies to enrich the curriculum so that it meets global standards.

An overview of the teaching pedagogy was given through a very impressive presentation ‘Water- A Precious Natural Resource’ by the students. Parents were awe-struck by the way all the activities in all the subjects including performing arts were woven through a common theme. At the end of the Programme, the students skated in and presented a scintillating dance performance. Their well synchronized movements held the audience spell bound.

The session ended with parents-teachers interaction wherein parents’ queries were well attended by the Leadership Team.

NEW ACADEMIC SESSION FOR CLASSES UKG TO V

“Those who believe in the magic of the new beginnings create wonders for themselves and others.”

The premises of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School reverberated with the sounds of joy and laughter as the students of Classes UKG-V entered the campus on March 30, 2022, the first day of the new Academic Session 2022-23. The students received a grand and loving welcome. The wonderfully decorated corridors and class rooms brought a lot of joy to the students. To bring them into rhythm, the day began with the prayer to Goddess Saraswati followed by a special assembly. The assembly commenced on an auspicious note with the chanting of Gayatri Mantra. The students spoke about the significance of new beginnings through an insightful thought. Through an amazing presentation, the students pledged to understand their responsibilities and be future responsible citizens of India. Thereafter, the students were taken to the swings. They also enjoyed art & craft activities and dance.

The Primary Wing Leader, Madam Meenakshi Malhotra addressed the students and motivated them to do well throughout the year.

The students carried a cheerful smile even while going back home as they had received wonderful takeaways as a token of love and affection from their teachers.

First Day of School ( LKG )

“School Bells are ringing loud and clear, it's time for learning and fun, the school is here.”

The first day of coming to Kindergarten is a momentous occasion for students, teachers and parents.

The Preprimary Wing brimmed with happiness and energy as the students of LKG walked in with smiling faces on March 28, 2022, the first day of the school. 

The young learners were welcomed with a tilak. The corridors and the classes were beautifully decorated. An attractive selfie corner was the centre of attraction for our little ones. They began the day on an auspicious note by praying to Goddess Saraswati. Especially designed corners and activities including Reading, Scribbling, Free play, Clay moulding, Art & Craft, Music and Dance etc. kept the students happily engaged. Their joy knew no bounds when they played on the swings and in the ‘Toyland Area’. The little ones joyfully received beautiful take-aways as a token of love and affection from their teachers. Their energy and enthusiasm were the testimony to how much they enjoyed Day 1 of the Session 2022-23.

The learning at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School is centered around holistic development of the students with a resolute focus on empowering them to be lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and productive members of an ever-changing global society. A vibrant learning atmosphere is provided to the students for their multifaceted development by channelizing the innate potential hibernating in them.

To apprise the parents of the students of Classes VI-IX about the teaching pedagogy of the school, an Orientation Programme was organized on March 26, 2022. The facilitators’ briefed the parents on the latest CBSE updates including changes in the pattern of evaluation of both scholastic and co-scholastic subjects, integrated and thematic planning in various subjects along with Health & Wellness Programme. The parents were also updated about the latest ventures of the school to provide a unique learning platform to the students.

The members reiterated the need for the constant support of the parents to achieve milestones as a strong unionization of teachers and parents would ensure wholesome transformation of children to confident, inquisitive, self-motivated learners and enthusiastic Netizens who would face the competitive world with confidence.

Orientation Programme - Nursery-II

ORIENTATION PROGRAM AT Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, SECTOR 10, GURGAON

An Orientation Programme was organised for the parents of Classes Nursery-II in staggered slots on March 26, 2022. Along with making the parents aware of the rules and regulations followed in the school, it was also an attempt to give them an opportunity to peep into the beautiful world, their precious children would explore and enjoy to the core in the new session.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp alongwith the chanting of Gayatri Mantra. The parents were accorded a warm welcome by the Officiating Principal, Ms. Arpita Acharya and the Primary Wing Leader, Ms. Meenakshi Malhotra. Thereafter, they were acquainted with the teaching pedagogy, curriculum, evaluation process, Health and Wellness Programme, safety and security and co-scholastic activities of the school.

In an attempt to give the parents a glimpse of the Integrated Thematic Approach which is an intrinsic part of the Teaching Pedagogy, presentations on the themes ‘Plants’ and ‘Making Healthy Food Choices’ were given by the students by the students of Grade LKG and Grades UKG-II respectively. Both the presentations received plaudits as all the subjects taught including performing arts were interwoven with the respective themes in a beautiful manner.

The queries of the parents were well addressed by the School Leadership Team alongwith the facilitators. It was an enriching experience for all.

EMBARKING TOWARDS ANOTHER NEW BEGINNING

With the commencement of the Academic Session 2022-23, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School welcomed the students of Grades X and XII whose long awaited steps entered the campus with great zeal and zest to unveil the beginning of the new session.

To welcome the students, a special assembly was conducted on the theme ‘New Beginnings'. The assembly started with seeking the blessings of the Almighty through a Saraswati Pooja.

 Alongwith the regular features of the assembly, the students presented a talk and a Hindi poem spreading the message to remain positive and motivated through the session.

The Principal (Off) Ms. Arpita Acharya welcomed the students and encouraged them to continue inculcating in themselves, the values of discipline, code of conduct, effective communication and importance of wearing proper uniform.
