ASTRONOMY SESSION FOR CLASSES III to IX

DOCTOR'S DAY CELEBRATION

“Real heroes don’t wear capes, they wear white coats and we call them Doctors.”

The world has become a better and healthier place to live in with doctors bringing the joy of health and goodness to our lives. Health & Wellness Programme, Blue Bells Group of Schools, under the mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health and Wellness) Blue Bells Group of Schools, has been incessantly working to sensitize students to various themes related to health & well-being and social, emotional & cognitive domains.

National Doctor's Day is observed on 1st July every year in India, to mark the Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.C. Roy and also acknowledge his extraordinary contributions to the medical fraternity. In sync with the same vision, to salute the relentless efforts of the doctors, the Primary Wing of the school celebrated Doctor’s Day. Slot wise special assemblies were organized on July 7, 2022,under the guidance of the Health & Wellness Team of the school.

The Special Assemblies were hosted by Smriti Jha, Primary Wing -Health & Wellness Ambassador, andAaina Hiwal, Head Girl along with students of Grades I & II and Grades III to V respectively. The assemblies began on a pious note by invoking the blessings of the Almighty with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra. All the assembly features were interwoven around the theme of celebrating the contributions of the custodians of health. A mesmerizing poem on the role of doctors as superheroes and how they dedicate their livesto caring for and treating us was applauded by all.

Adding value to the celebration, Dr. Sanjay Bhat, the school doctor along with the school nurse Ms. Rosamma & Ms. Anamma, gave an informative presentation on basic First Aid. The students were apprised ofthe safety rules and the uses of items in the First Aid Kit. They were briefed about the importance of administering First Aid in case of an emergency before the arrival of medical help Dr. Bhat further emphasised safety measures that must be taken in various areas like in the kitchen, at home, in the playground, on road, in the park, and in the swimming pool where children visit frequently. He focused on proper hygiene which is to be maintained for a safe and healthy life.

The students showcased their creativity and expressed their heartfelt gratitude by giving a bouquet of handmade cards and a specially designed handmade calendar to Dr. Bhat and the school nurse.The assembly was concluded with a gratitude note by Ms. Meenakshi Malhotra, Primary Wing Leader. She appreciated the efforts put up by the doctors and nurses. She highlighted the importance of the medical fraternity and their contribution to humanity.

GURUPURNIMA CELERBATION

"Guru is an aspiration, Guru is an inspiration, Guru is everything.”

Guru Purnima is a festival of reverence and dedication to the Guru. The school began the day by praying to Lord Ganesha and Goddess Saraswati. The students of C. V. Raman House from the Primary Wing exhibited their affection and regard towards their Gurus through a Special Assembly on July 13, 2022.

The assembly commenced with the chanting of Gayatri Mantra followed by the prayer and the pledge. The students paid homage to their teachers and mentors through the mesmerizing singing of Guru Stuti, chanting of shlokas, and the presentation of a delightful dance. An informative speech highlighting the influence of teachers in students’ lives elevated the show. The entire assembly resounded with approbation and veneration for the gurus. Officiating Principal, Madam Arpita Acharya, and Primary Wing Leader, Madam Meenakshi Malhotra showered their blessings on the students through their motivating words.

WELCOMING THE STUDENTS BACK TO SCHOOL

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School reopened after the Summer Break on July 11, 2022, for the students of Classes VI to XII. The children walked back into the campus for their journey toward joyous learning with bright and cheerful faces.

A special Welcome Assembly was conducted by the students of Class IX D on the theme of Time Management. The day started by seeking the blessings of the Almighty followed by the regular features of the assembly. An informative talk and a self-composed poem on the importance of Time Management were the highlights of the assembly. A Street Play, mentioning the consequences of mismanagement of time, left the audience in a very thoughtful mood.

Principal (Off), Madam Arpita Acharya introduced the Senior Wing Leader, Madam Preeti Phutela. The assembly was also addressed by Madam Suneeta Kaul, Middle Wing Leader. Ma'am shared the mantra of success with the students i.e. How to Manage Time.

Meeting their friends and exciting discussions added fuel to the energies of the students for a sparkling start.

EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO CHAIL AND KUFRI

The memories of school educational trips are among the most prominent in the formative years, largely because they are a welcome break in the routine for students.

The importance of educational trips

includes giving students the chance to

build closer bonds with their classmates,

experience new environments and enjoy a few days exploring new vistas and experiencing adventure sports.

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, Sector 10, Gurugram, arranged a 4-day field trip for the students of Class XII from June 16, 2022 to June 19, 2022 to Chail and Kufri, Himachal Pradesh. A group of 62 students and 6 teachers participated in the 4 day camp at Jungle Liveinn Resort, Chail and experienced the fun and adventure to the maximum!

After reaching the resort, the next morning students went for trekking and participated in various adventure activities including Burma Bridge, Valley Crossing, Wall Climbing and Zip Lining. In the evening they visited the famous Shiva Temple in the nearby village with a trek of about 2 km from the resort. The trek was full of excitement in the dense forest of Pine trees.

The next day they travelled to Kufri and experienced immense calm in the lap of nature. They also got an opportunity to purchase souvenirs for their loved ones from the local market there. Coming back to the resort towards the evening, they went for a Night Trek for about 4 km one way. This night trek happened to be the most favourite activity for the students alongwith everything else. They reached a point where they could hear multiple birds chirping and capture a beautiful sunset in their hearts.

The students had a comfortable stay at the resort and also enjoyed a groovy DJ night and bonfire for two late evenings. The students arrived back at school on the fourth day with hearts full of memories . The trip was an excellent exposure for the students to realize the value of fitness in their life and partake of the pleasure of travelling with friends.

Educational Trip to Jim Corbett & Nainital

School Trips are an excellent way for students to gain a better insight of the world around them. Memories of School trips are among the most prominent, largely because they are a welcome break in the routine for both students and teachers. While their purpose is essentially to educate, they can also be a fun bonding experience for everyone involved. Keeping in view this, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, Sector-10 organized an educational trip to Jim Corbett National Park & Nainital from June 12, 2022, to June 15, 2022. A group of 94 students from classes IX- X, along with 9 teachers participated in it.

The four-day camp at Alaya Resort, Jim Corbett was full of fun, excitement, and laughter. The students not only enjoyed a plethora of activities but the company of their friends, peers and mentors. Some of the activities that the students indulged in at Jim Corbett were Kyari Village Visit – A Cultural Walk to understand Lifestyle & Economics of Indian Village, Pugmark Trail, Birding Walk, Introduction of Corbett Tiger Reserve & Corbett Landscape through a short movie, Live Folk Dance & Music. Besides these, the students also enjoyed Team Games, Swimming and Live DJ Music & danced to their favourite tunes.

 A short trip to Nainital was enjoyable, where the students enjoyed the scenic beauty of the place and shopping at the Mall Road. They picked souvenirs for their near and dear ones.

The highlight of the trip was Safari to Corbett Tiger Reserve. The jeep safari into the lush green forest to see the wild animals in their natural habitat was a thrilling experience.

The caravan of students and teachers returned to Gurgaon on the night of June 15, 2022, and was handed over to the eagerly waiting parents. The Trip concluded with this and everyone parted with beautiful memories of the tour.

A WONDERFUL INITIATIVE TOWARDS BUILDING A BEAUTIFUL AND SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT

We, at Blue Bells, leave no stone unturned to incorporate sustainability through learning opportunities into our students' daily life.

In our mission to bring behavioural change, especially at a young age, we have collaborated with 'Blue Planet Environment Solutions' under the initiative 'Blue Nudge', a unique platform that gives learners a nudge for becoming more responsible towards the earth. An Orientation Session was organised for the teachers and students by Mr. Krishna Kumar Gaur, Vice President of the organisation.

He briefed that the material which students can collect for recycling are PET Bottles, Newspapers, Old book scraps, and other plastics which will be prevented from going to landfills to protect the environment and prevent climate change.

The students from classes IV to XII can participate in this Drive. The students were also apprised about the same.

Mrs. Arpita Acharya, Principal (Off), BBPS motivated the teachers and students to take an active part in the initiative.

WORLD BICYCLE DAY

"A bicycle ride a day keeps the illness away."

World Bicycle Day is marked on June 03 every year to recognise bicycling as a way to get a sustainable form of traveling that also ensures one's physical well-being. The students at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School celebrated the tradition of cycling and its significant role in keeping our health fit by organizing a bicycle race for the students. The Leadership Team flagged off the race and declared the event open.

Over a hundred students participated in the event enthusiastically and pledged to use bicycle over other means of transport, as much as possible.

ALUMNI SESSIONS: CONNECTING &COLLABORATINGWITH SCHOLARS

“Coming back to school, after years of passing out, feels like coming back home…”    -Each and Every BBPS Alumnus

For our educational institution, alumni form a very important connection between the students still in school and the world of opportunities outside.Choosing to connect with alumni has helped us to gain perspective on the future options. In sync with the same vision, interactive sessions with our venerable alumni were organized for the students of Classes XI & XII on June 6 & 7, 2022.

On June 6, 2022, Pranshul Sood from the Batch of 2015-16, a CA and an Analyst in the Financial Research domain in D.E. Shaw & Co., and Riya Choudhary from the Batch of 2015-16,  a budding psychologist and a new age therapist with Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, talked to the students of Commerce and Humanities Stream. They openly communicated about their passion and how they prepared for various competitions and the research they did to reach their dream option.

On June 7, 2022, Sanjay Khan from the Batch of 2012-13,  a B.Tech from Jamia Milia Islamia with a work experience with TCS and ZS Associates and would pursue his Master in Business Administration from IIM, Ahmedabad, and Linima Phalswal from the Batch of 2017-18, an Actuarial Analyst spoke to the students of the Non-Medical and Commerce Stream respectively. They detailed the students about the challenges they faced when new subjects were introduced in Class XI and how they planned their syllabus to score the optimum.

The students clarified their doubts from their seniors and found the interactions to be fruitful.
