ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR CLASS XI

An orientation program was held for parents of Class XI students on April 13, 2022 . The parents were updated about the school rules including attendance, discipline and assessment. The  Principal (Off), Madam Arpita Acharya extended a warm welcome to the parents and apprised them about the possible challenges that the students would meet and successfully overcome through the next two years. The students presented a warm Welcome Song and shared their compositions created on the occasion of International Youth Day. They also presented some of the award winning performances like the Science Rap Song.

The teachers, through a PowerPoint Presentation, took the parents through an informative journey of what is to come through the session, including the teaching pedagogy, clubs and all other essential activities. Parents met the respective teachers of their wards and clarified their doubts about the forthcoming session. It was an enriching experience for the parents and was appreciated by all.

RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION

Our days are full of life,

And nights are blessed with peace,

Our festivals are full of jollity,

And our happiness has that soulful satisfaction,

And it is all because of the soldiers

Who are out there on the borders protecting our lives.

As an act of salutation and respect to the armed forces of our country, Raksha Bandhan……..A festival of threads, a day of celebrating fraternal ties, symbolizing the trust and affection that a brother and sister share was uniquely celebrated by the school.

To make the occasion momentous, our students went to BSF Camp, Chhawla, Nazafgarh, Delhi on August 10, 2022 to tie rakhis to the valiant soldiers fighting hard to keep us safe and sound. They also handed over ‘Letters of Thanks’ written by them and their peers as a token of gratitude to the unfathomed support and commitment of our army . This was an honest endeavour of the students to salute the commitment of these patriots.

The initiative to celebrate the festival of love and bond was undertaken by Sunhera Bhavishya (NGO) to mark solidarity with the soldiers deployed far away from their families. The Blue Bellians presented a spectacular cultural programme which was heartily lauded by all.

The soldiers shared their experiences of tough and challenging Army life. The students wished them health and happiness and prayed for their success in their mission to protect the motherland. One of the BSF soldiers shared,” They are always there for the security, happiness, and prosperity of the nation in the same way in which a brother sacrifices himself for the happiness of his sister.” On behalf of BSF, he thanked the school for this sensitive and emotional gesture.

VISIT TO FLOUR MILL

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”

In sync with the ongoing theme ‘Farm to Table’, an educational trip to a Flour Mill was organized for the students of UKG on August 8, 2022.

The students saw the entire process of wheat being ground into flour and packed. They were excited to see the wheat being ground by a machine equipped with rollers that broke the grains into pieces and finally converted it into fine white flour.

The students took the wheat grains in their hands to feel them and also touched the flour once wheat got converted into it.

It was experiential learning at its finest for the little ones. They got to know how a product grown by the farmers reaches us and the stages through which it undergoes.

WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY (MIDDLE WING)

Conservation means the wise use of the earth and its resources for the lasting good of men.

To make the students aware of the importance of conservation of nature is the most urgent need of today. The students of class VII B presented their informative and thoughtful assembly on the occasion of Nature Conservation Day. World Nature Conservation Day is celebrated on 28 July every year with the aim to save the plants and animals that are on the verge of getting extinct.

Along with the regular features, the students presented a street play, a self-composed poem, a dance, and a melodious song to deliver the message to preserve nature from all toxic things in the environment and harmful human activity.

The Peer Educators from Classes VI to VIII were given their badges by the members of the Health and Wellness, and the Leadership Team. Ms. Arpita Acharya, Principal (off) addressed the students and congratulated all the peer educators.

ASSEMBLY ON LEADERSHIP

“If your actions inspire others to dream more.

Learn more, do more and become more, you a leader!”

On this thoughtful note, Class XI-B began with its presentation of the Morning Assembly. It emphasised the role of the Leaders and leadership. The regular features of the Assembly were followed by an inspiring poem and an insightful speech on Leadership. A quiz was also conducted on some of the greatest leaders of India which helped the students in enhancing their knowledge.

This was also a perfect opportunity for the school Prefectorial Board for the session 2022-23 to be declared. The Vice-Captains and Prefects of all the four Houses were announced along with the Peer Mentor and Peer Educators for Classes IX to XI. They received their badges from the Leadership Team. The Vice-Captains and Prefects took an oath to be responsible, honest, and unbiased in discharging their duties.

Ms. Arpita Acharya, Principal (Off), and Ms. Preeti Phutela, Senior Wing Leader congratulated the students and encouraged them to be worthy role models for their peers.

WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY

“Environment is a gift from God, taking care of it is a return gift."

World Nature Conservation Day is celebrated across the world to raise awareness about protecting precious nature and natural resources. To brighten hopes for a greener tomorrow, an assembly was conducted by the students of Grade II A on July 28, 2022.   

The assembly commenced with the Gayatri Mantra and the school prayer. Thereafter, the students spoke about the importance of a healthy environment in laying the foundation for a stable and productive society. 

Students expressed their concern for the protection of natural resources through street play and thoughtful slogans. The melodious song and the rhythmic dance presentation highlighted the importance of the conservation of nature. The enriching morning assembly was indeed an extraordinary experience for everyone. 

The school leadership team applauded the efforts of the students and motivated them to put in the best of their efforts to conserve nature.

MOCK FIRE EVACUATION DRILL AT BBPS

To educate and train the students for unforeseen emergencies like fire or any natural calamity, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School conducted a mock Fire Evacuation Drill on July 29, 2022. The drill was organized to check the readiness of the school to face any such emergency and to make the students and staff aware about the Fire Fighting rescue operation and its procedure.

As soon as the siren sounded, the students of Classes III to XII were asked to leave their classes and evacuate the school building. Guided by the teachers, the students collected in the playground which was the safe zone allocated for them. Following all the safety measures, the entire Primary,  Middle and Senior Wing classrooms were successfully evacuated within a span of 5-6 minutes.

These mock drills help in meeting the challenges in adverse situations and in coping with the situations during the time of natural and man-made disasters.

Financial Literacy and use of Digital Tools

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School hosted a workshop on Financial Literacy with the aim to sensitize teachers across the country on basics of financial literacy and use of digital tools that are relevant in the current scenario. The workshop was attended by more than 100 teachers from various schools in the city.

Mr. Pankaj Sahijwani, the CBSE resource person explained the importance of financial planning that helps in making growth and expansion programmes which helps in long-run survival of individual. Financial Planning reduces uncertainties with regards to changing market trends which can be faced easily through enough funds.

The session was fruitful and enriching. The teachers understood how Financial literacy is an understanding of the skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions with all of their financial resources. It encompasses budgeting, saving, investing, and includes anything and everything that deals with money management.

BLUE BELLIANS PAY HOMAGE TO BRAVEHEARTS

"Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it; it flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it.”

This quote truly epitomizes the gallantry and attitude of all the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives fighting in the Kargil War. Students of class VII A on July 22, 2022, presented their assembly on Kargil Vijay Diwas, which is commemorated in the proud memory of the brave heroes who were responsible for India’s victory over Pakistan during the Kargil War of 1999. Celebrated every year on July 26, the day is about remembering the brave patriots who laid their lives to protect the country’s pride against the enemy. Through a mesmerizing skit and dance, the students delivered the message that our flag is more than just cloth and ink. It is a universally recognized symbol that stands for liberty and freedom. It is the history of our nation and is marked by the blood of those who died defending it.

Respected Principal (Off), Madam Arpita Acharya addressed the students and encouraged them to feel pride in being an Indian. As the assembly ended, the entire Sita Devi Memorial Multipurpose Hall reverberated with the sound of ‘Vande Mataram!’
