National Small Industry Day

The National Small Industry Day is an annual celebration observed on 30th August. It is dedicated to promoting small businesses nationwide and offering job opportunities to the unemployed.

The students of Class VI A presented a special assembly on the same theme. The assembly started on a pious note with the chanting of Gayatri Mantra and school prayer.

The audience was updated with news and then the thought of the day was shared in Sanskrit(a shloka from Bhagwad Geeta). The students performed a small skit based on the real-life story of Tilak Mehta, the youngest entrepreneur in India. The students were inspired to be courageous in taking up challenges and solving problems with enthusiasm.

A dance performance presented by the students added excitement to the show. A group song –‘ I will do it’, was sung to motivate the children.

Towards the end, a few words were shared by the Class Teacher, Ms. Deepika Manocha on the theme followed by words of appreciation from the Middle Wing Leader, Ms. Sunita Kaul.

“The  S’s of sports training are speed, strength, skill, and spirit; and an amalgamation of these helps in building self-confidence which further empowers the children to face all challenges in life.” If these skills are honed in their formative years they develop as strong habits and a way of life.

At Blue Bells, we believe in giving adequate importance to sports and games so that our young buds develop their Kinaesthetic skills, as it not only imbibes rich values in them but also instills a sense of discipline, fellow –feeling, and togetherness.

LAUGHTER YOGA SESSION

“Laughter is the only medicine, without side effects.” – Shannon L. Alder

A Laughter Yoga Therapy Session was conducted for the members of the teaching staff by the Yoga Teachers in Sita Devi Memorial Hall. Officiating Principal, Ms. Arpita Acharya and the Wing Leaders also participated in the session. Everyone enjoyed the forceful, intentional laughing which turned into real, organic laughter during the exercises. Laughter, indeed, is infectious!

HINDI DIWAS CELEBRATION

“Hamari Bhasha Hamari Dharohar”

“Language is the key to the heart as it opens all the channels of communication.”   It was on 14th September in the year 1949 that the Constituent Assembly of India adopted Hindi written in Devanagari script as the official language of the Republic of India.

To inculcate and infuse this sense of pride in the students about our mother tongue ‘Hindi’, Hindi Diwas was celebrated in the school on  September 13,2022.  A special Morning Assembly was organized by the Primary Wing  in this regard tracing the origin of Hindi language and its various subdivisions.  The students presented all the features of the Assembly in Hindi and presented a cornucopia of recitiation, street play and dance to highlight the importance of our National language. The school Choir enthralled all with  a soulful rendition to emphasize on the importance of our mother tongue Hindi.   The Morning Assembly concluded on a promising note where the importance of the language was highlighted in today’s scenario.  It was a promising beginning of the day.

BBPS CELEBRATES HINDI DIWAS

Being one of the most diverse nations in the world, India is a place where numerous traditions, customs, religions and languages flourish. And among all the languages, Hindi is considered as the chief, as well as the most widely spoken language in India.

Hindi got an exalted status in India on September 14, 1949, when it was adopted as the official language of the country. Since then, September 14 is celebrated as Hindi Diwas to pay tribute to the official language of India. Today, Hindi enjoys the status of Rashtra Bhasha.

A Special Assembly was organised to acknowledge this day by the students of the Senior Wing. It included presentations, songs, dances and speeches only in Hindi and on the importance of the language Hindi.

The Senior Wing Leader, Ms. Preeti Phutela and Middle Wing Leader, Ms. Suneeta Kaul addressed the students and appreciated their efforts.

AWARENESS CAMPAIGN ON DENGUE PREVENTION

We at Blue Bells believe that children are the harbingers of a better tomorrow. With the mission to empower our young scholars with the right information and awareness regarding different issues related to health & wellness, the Health & Wellness Team under the mentorship Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS organizes and conducts various informative sessions as a part of Peer Educator Programme.

In sync with the same vision, special assemblies were organized, wing wise for the students of Classes III-XII from August 25 to August 31, 2022, to sensitize them about the ways to combat the prevalent disease Dengue and stay safe during the Monsoon season.

Information regarding the prevention of the disease, the breeding conditions of the mosquitoes, and steps that could be taken to reduce the risk of acquiring the disease were shared with the help of a PowerPoint presentation.At the end of the sessions, a quiz was conducted to check students’ understanding of the topic. Students responded to the questions with enthusiasm and demonstrated a sound understanding of the content.

Sirish Sundaram, Class VII A, Dishita Sharma, Class VII B, Yatharth Gaur, Class VII C, Mansi Chauhan, Class VII D, under the guidance of the Health & Wellness Team.Dr. Sanjay Bhatt, the School Doctor, briefed the students on how to stay safe from different Monsoon related diseases.

In addition to spreading awareness through the assemblies, posters on Dengue Awareness and Tips for Monsoon season, have been put across all strategic locations of the school. The sessions were interactive and supported in promoting a safer and healthier environment for the society.

We, at Blue Bells believe that in order to provide a wholesome education to children we must nurture in them the interconnected dimensions of values, life skills and wellness. Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools structured the Health &Wellness Programme for Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School with the strong vision of equipping the students with knowledge and awareness of their Health and Wellbeing thus ensuring a strong foundation of their childhood.

The Health & Wellness Team launched its own Peer Educator Programme in the year 2015 which consists of a Health & Wellness Ambassador from Class XII, a Peer Mentor from Class XI and 14 Peer Educators from Classes VI to X along with a Junior Health & Wellness Ambassador from the Primary Wing. These students are an integral part of the Student Council and are selected through a well-planned process. They play an active role by working as a bridge between mentors and pupils and also conduct especially designed sessions for the students along with Counsellors and Life Skills Facilitators. In furtherance of the vision ,  the Peer Educators  for the Session 2022-23 were selected through a  structured  procedure comprising the Written Round, JAM Session, Team Building Activities and Personal Interview with Dr. Alka.

With the aim of giving an insight into the Health & Wellness Programme, an Introductory Session for newly elected Peer Educators of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School was planned & conducted by Kasak Yadav , Health and Wellness Ambassador and Priyanshi Yadav, the Peer Mentor on August 18, 2022. The students were trained by Ms. Mamta Shivpuri under the able guidance of our mentor Dr. Saxena.  The session offered a new learning experience to all the participants.

Dr. Alka apprised them about Do’s and Don’ts to be kept in mind while performing the duties of a Peer Educator. She elaborated about the roles & responsibilities of Peer Educators. Speaking on the occasion, Ma’am briefed them about their take away from the session and motivated them for achieving their goals. She wished them luck for their future endeavours.

The Peer Educators participated enthusiastically in all activities & discussions. At the end of the session they were apprised about their first task as Peer Educators.

LITERACY DAY CELEBRATION

 ‘Being Literate is Empowering.’

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School celebrated Literacy Day on its campus on Thursday, September 8, 2022. The concept of literacy was elaborated among students in the morning assembly.

A special assembly on Literacy Day was conducted on September 8,2022 by the students of class VI B.

It was highlighted through the assembly that Literacy is a matter of dignity and human right, as students spoke on the celebration of 'International Literacy Day' and presented poems, dances and songs to bring the point home that literacy is the foundation of learning.

The assembly was addressed by respected Middle Wing Incharge, Ms. Suneeta Kaul who said literacy is the prime requisite for learning and plays a vital role in restraining population growth, curbing poverty, establishing gender impartiality and a bright promise for growth.

Physics Workshop -‘Let there be Light’

BVN-Anveshika invited the students of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School for a Physics Workshop ‘Let there be light’ on August 26, 2022 at Birla Vidya Niketan, New Delhi. A number of reputed schools from Delhi-NCR participated in the event.

The session started with a brief introduction to the concept of Light. It was based on the Chapter Light from Class X Syllabus. It focused on Experiential Learning -Hands on Experiments. The demonstration was done using various lab tools.

The optical illusion was shown using various mirrors kept at different angles. The students had a brain storming session and were taught about the concept of Reflection through mirrors and the images formed when the mirrors are placed at different angles.

The concept of total internal reflection, absorption, reflection and refraction all together was demonstrated using a large glass bottle, water, incense stick smoke and laser beam. Our students participated actively by asking their queries.

Overall, the session was very enriching and informative. It was focussed on developing the critical thinking and scientific temperament in young minds. The participation certificates were awarded to the students.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION (Primary Wing)

“A teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge and wisdom in the pupils”.

To show reverence to their teachers, the students of Class II B and Radha Krishnan House of Classes III-V conducted a Special Assembly on September 02, 2022, with much fun and fanfare.

The students used all their talent and creativity to create a day full of fun, cheers, and laughter for their teachers. They recited a beautiful poem showcasing the love, affection, and bond that they share with their teachers. It was followed by a euphonic presentation by the choir. Thereafter, the students put the stage on fire with their stellar dance performance which was applauded by everyone. The programme culminated with a host of fun-filled games for the teachers in which teachers participated wholeheartedly. The facilitators were greatly impressed by the immaculate performances showcased by the students. They received beautiful cards from the students with their heartfelt wishes which spoke volumes about their love, respect and gratitude towards them.

Madam Meenakshi Malhotra, Primary Wing Leader congratulated all the students for their wonderful efforts put to make the assembly a hit.
