Deepotsav: Illuminating Minds, Enlightening Hearts and Strengthening Bonds

“The festival of light is here, let’s join in and bring the festive cheer”

We, at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, believe that festivals are occasions of joy, unity, and celebration. With this thought in our hearts, a fun-filled event Deepotsav, was organised on October 22, 2022, for the students and their parents.

The day commenced with the welcome of participants with a melodious song followed by a session on Laughter Yoga and Delightful Dance which created a happy environment, a hallmark of any festival. The traditional attire of the students and their parents ushered in Diwali with festive vibes.

A plethora of engaging activities like Rangotsav, Fest Florist, Fest & Feast, Prakash Punj and many more were curated with great care. The students got a wonderful opportunity to participate in all these events with their parents and create delightful moments to cherish forever. The aesthetic presentations by the participants left everybody spellbound and made the day very special. 

The day ended with Diwali wishes all around as the participants received a token of affection.

DIWALI CELEBRATION (PRIMARY WING)

“May the light of diyas lead us onto the road of growth and prosperity.”

A Special Assembly on Diwali was held by the students of Sarojini Naidu House (Primary Wing) on October 18, 2022. The assembly commenced with the Gayatri Mantra and chanting of Shlokas by the choir to invoke the blessings of the Almighty.

The melodious rendition of 'Chaupais' from Ramayana filled the atmosphere with divinity. The Radio Jockey Show that followed next had the students emphasizing on the need to celebrate a peaceful and green Diwali to protect the Earth from excessive noise and pollution.

The assembly came to a close with the presentation of a spectacular Dance Drama in which students depicted Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya after vanquishing Ravana in a battle. The entire presentation was a fine composition of dance, drama, and music, aesthetically showcasing Indian traditions and values.

Speaking on the occasion, Madam Arpita Acharya emphasized the need of celebrating a peaceful and green Diwali. Ms. Meenakshi Malhotra, Primary Wing Leader applauded the efforts of the students and wished them and their families a happy and safe Diwali.

INTER-HOUSE RANGOLI COMPETITION

INTER-HOUSE RANGOLI COMPETITION

‘May the supreme light and colours illumine our minds, enlighten our hearts and strengthen our bonds.’

Rangoli is a traditional art form that brightens up festive occasions like Diwali and is believed to be harbinger of good luck. The interplay of vibrant colours of Rangoli and the light from diyas is always a treat to behold! Keeping up with this thought, an Inter-House Rangoli Competition was organized for the students of the Primary Wing on October 21, 2022.

The students of all the four houses put their best foot forward and created intricate and artistic Rangoli patterns. The criteria for judgement included Design, Details and Clarity, Colour Combination, Creativity and Overall Presentation. The result of the competition is as follows-

After the competition, the school premises sparkled with beautifully executed colourful designs which added to the festive galore. On the whole, this competition motivated the students to perform and outshine in their creative skills and work as a team.

DIWALI CELEBRATION

“The greatest significance of Diwali is to light up new, bright and colourful dreams and fresh hopes.”

The happiness and celebratory spirit attached to the festival of Diwali is unparalleled. To add to the festive fervour, the students of Grade I A presented a Special Assembly on Diwali on October 19, 2022. The assembly started with the chanting of Gayatri Manta to seek the blessings of the Almighty. Along with the other regular features of the assembly, a power-packed Nukkad Natak was performed by students on the theme ‘GREEN DIWALI’ which reiterated the importance of avoiding crackers and not contribute towards air pollution. The assembly came to a close with a foot-tapping dance performance and a tuneful song which filled the atmosphere with rhythm and symphony.

Speaking on the occasion, Madam Meenakshi Malhotra, Primary Wing Leader applauded the efforts of the students and urged them to celebrate a clean, green and safe Diwali.

‘EMPEZAR’: A BEGINNING, HEALTH & WELLNESS FIESTA 2022

Education is an integral process which harmonizes learning with direct life experience and instructs students in the art of living their lives as successful individuals. We, at Blue Bells, uphold a perfect fusion of traditional and modern values for holistic personality development to fulfil the vision and mission of the school – “to churn out socially and ethically responsible citizens of the country”.  Carrying forward the vision, the Health & Wellness Team under the guidance and mentorship of Dr Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS incessantly work towards creating activities and modules to hone the skill sets of the learners along with empowering them with righteous knowledge and conduct.

‘Empezar’: A Beginning  , an annual feature for the students of Primary Wing, was organized under the aegis of the Health & Wellness Programme of the school on October 14, 2022. This year’s theme was ‘Safe and Green Diwali’.  A plethora of activities was curated in-house to give vent to the creativity hibernating in the scholars like -Seed Ball Making for Class III, Making Decorative Wind Chime for Class IV and Jharokha Making – Ethnic Wall Art for Class V. The students enthusiastically participated in all the activities and showcased their commitment of heralding a new era of conservation of resources for a safe and secured future.

Dr. Alka congratulated the Blue Bellians for upholding the vision of ‘Clean Earth, Green Earth’ and following the principle of the 3 R’s – Reduce, Recycle and Reuse.  Ma’am further motivated them to work as an effective team to save our earth from being depleted of its precious resources.

The work done by the students will be displayed at strategic locations in the school. This is an earnest endeavour of the Health & Wellness Team to root and sensitize the Gen Next to the cause of preserving the resources till posterity.  

World Mental Health Day 2022

‘Make Mental Health & Well-Being for All a Global Priority.’

According to World Health Organization, every year World Mental Health Day is commemorated on October 10 around the globe to raise awareness about mental health, and its significance in life. This day is dedicated to creating cognizance about mental health and the reasons why it is important for holistic well-being. The theme of this year’s celebration set by the World Federation for Mental Health is 'Make Mental Health & Wellbeing for All a Global Priority.’

The school celebrated World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2022, under the aegis of the Health & Wellness Programme spearheaded by Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS. Ma’am an avid advocate of the socio-emotional well-being of children. Under the inspirational leadership of Ma’am, Health & Wellness Team curated age-appropriate activities for the students of Middle & Senior School to sensitize all on the importance of mental well-being.

Dr. Alka flagged off the Rally signifying Mental Health & Well Being a Global Priority organized for the senior school students. The enthusiastic students chanted inspirational slogans to sensitize the students of the school about the importance of mental health. They went to each and every class in the Middle & Senior Wing respectively.  The movie -Inside Out was screened for the students of Classes VI-VIII followed by a Reflection Sheet to reiterate the concept shown. The senior students of Classes IX-XII were also engaged in Poster Making on the theme.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Alka spoke about the importance of mental health and well-being for the overall personality development of an individual. Ma’am urged all the members to be aware of their emotions and learn how to manage them effectively.

The entire school was soaked in the spirit to showcase their commitment to creating awareness on the sensitive issue. With this commitment, the team will continue to work on the newer themes for all the stakeholders of the school.

GRANDPARENTS DAY

'A grandparent is a parent, a teacher and a friend, all rolled into one.'

Grandparents’ Day was celebrated by the Blue Bellians on October 08, 2022 to express the affection and gratitude to the most venerable members of the families...the Grandparents!

The celebration began with a warm welcome followed by the auspicious Diya lighting with shloka chanting. The melodious Ganesh Vandana gave a befitting start to the celebration which was a solemn tribute to the divinity of grandparents. The august gathering was accorded a warm welcome by Madam Arpita Acharya, Officiating Principal of the school.

The poem recitation highlighted the irreplaceable and unforgettable bond between grandchildren and grandparents.  The melodious song presentation by the choir and the lively Dance Drama brought out many wonderful memories for the grandparents. They had a plethora of games to play which they enjoyed immensely. It was a moment of elation to see the happiness ushering in the faces of all the grandparents who made the most of this wonderful day.

 Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Honourable Director, BBGS, addressed the grandparents and thanked them for being there for their grandchildren. She appreciated their efforts in shaping strong citizens of the future and emphasized on the importance of the joint families for the healthy growth of the children.

Madam Meenakshi Malhotra, Primary Wing Leader proposed the Vote of Thanks and expressed her gratitude to all the grandparents for their unending contribution to the lives of the society.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE

Walk with peace and conquer the world with love.

Peace is an element that improves and strengthen personal lives as well as global relationships. Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21^st of September. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.

Keeping the same in mind, a special assembly was conducted by the students of Grade IV C on September 21, 2022. With unsurpassed joy and vigour, they expressed gratitude and respect to the people who have worked hard to create peace in the world.  The students came dressed up as famous personalities like Sir A.P. J. Abdul Kalam, Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama etc. to spread the message of peace. The other students shared their experiences that how they were inspired by these great personalities.

Through an impressive speech, the students paid tribute to the ’Father of the Nation’, Mahatma Gandhi and ‘The Man of Peace’, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri for their significant roles as Freedom Fighters and the messengers of peace. Smriti Jha, Jr. Health & Wellness Ambassador also delivered a peace message. She acquainted the students about the peaceful conflict resolutions and urged them to adopt them in their lives.

The assembly came to a closure with the presentation of a beautiful song and an energetic dance highlighting the importance of being kind and helpful towards each other. 

MICROSOFT LEARN FOR EDUCATOR TRAINING

A good educational institution creates a rich learning environment where the faculty is introduced to new ideas, develop new skills, and expands their perspectives. The informed use of technology can engage all members in new experiences and create a community of learners across geographical boundaries. To achieve this objective, the school organized hands-on sessions on ‘Microsoft Learn for Educator’ for the faculty members across all wings in the month of September.

Microsoft Learn for Educators will apprise, be aware, and enlighten the members of the school with the Microsoft Official Curriculum. The user-friendly interface will act as an enabler for all to hone their technical prowess. The learned skills can be put to practical use in the classroom transaction to build on the student’s technical skills for the future. The faculty were exposed to Microsoft’s ready-to-teach curriculum and aligned teaching materials.

This is one of the unique initiatives and On Job Training (OJT) given by the school for the professional development of the staff members. This is an ongoing process for the faculty which will keep them abreast with the latest technological advancements across the globe.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF DEMOCRACY

The Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL’s ) hosted a virtual event on the occasion of the International Day of Democracy.

The students of Class X B of Blue Bells shared their perspective through their participation in FOWPAL’S International Platform showcasing basic democracy within their classroom through the concept of love and peace as the most beneficial ways to achieve a Global World Of Peace and Sustainability. If we wish to put an end to the conflicts and develop love and peace, we first need to awaken everyone’s conscience. Conscience inspires people to do good deeds and stabilizes their hearts. When hearts are pure, wisdom arises, allowing us to see the crux of a problem. We can turn a bad situation into a good one with good thoughts and achieve balance, and all things can remain peaceful naturally.
