Veergatha Assembly at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School

A special assembly was organised in Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School Sector10, Gurugram to inspire school children with stories of war heroes and brave hearts. The project aimed to disseminate the details of acts of bravery and life stories of the officers/personnel of the Armed Forces, other lawfully constituted forces, and civilians. It was an attempt to increase awareness among school students about the Gallantry Award winners of our country. The response of the students was really overwhelming. The assembly lasted for one hour and in the end queries of students were answered and short videos/PPTs/ documentaries/brochures and various other resource material were shared with students. The assembly concluded with the inspiring words by the Senior Wing Leader, Ms Preeti Phutela and other senior teachers. They urged the students and teachers to value and honour the sacrifices made by our armed forces and play their part sincerely. All in all, it was really a praiseworthy initiative on the part of Blue Bellians to pay homage to our real National Heroes. Jai Hind!

Children's Day (Primary and Pre-Primary Wing)

“Children are the ones who can fill the world with happiness. Let the tribe of happy children grow!”

Children's Day is celebrated on 14^th of November every year as a tribute to Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. In an attempt to create wonderful memories for the students on this significant Day, Children’O’Fiesta – a fun-filled event including a Special Assembly was organized for the students of Classes Nursery-V on November14, 2022 on the occasion of Children’s Day.

The special assembly started with the teachers conducting the prayer and pledge. A Session on Laughter Yoga brought in a lot of joyful sounds of children’s laughter. Amazing song and dance presentations by the teachers left the students awe-struck. The poem presentations brought out the innate innocence of childhood. The highlight of the assembly was the ramp walk of the teachers with their classes.

The tiny tots of Nursery-II had loads of fun as they got to watch their favorite movie. The take-away gifts by their teachers made their special day remarkable.

Thereafter, the students of Classes III-V proceeded to the school ground wherein they visited various activity stations like RHYTHMIC FEET for a foot tapping dance session, SARGAM to sing their hearts out, CREATIVE HANDS to exercise their creative facets and SPORTS FERVOUR to show case their enthusiasm for sports. An added extravaganza was TRAMPOLINE FUN wherein the students had fun jumping on the trampoline. The happy, smiling faces were a sight to behold and their joyful squeals were the loveliest sound to the ears.

The School Leadership Team extended their greetings on the occasion and blessed them for a successful and bright future.

Children's Day 2022

November 14 is celebrated as Children's Day to commemorate the birthday of the children's beloved Chacha Nehru. To mark the day, a celebration was organized by the teachers for the students of the Middle Wing and Senior Wing in separate slots. The special assembly was one of a kind where the teachers adorned the role of the students and ensured that the students enjoyed their day to the fullest. The celebration for both the Wings began with the regular features, followed by a speech to highlight the significance of the day and a fun-filled skit that showcased the role reversal between the students and their mentors at its best. A Football Match was also organized between the students of Classes XI and XII to give them a platform to do what they love doing the most- play! The Middle Wing teachers also organised a variety of fun-filled activities and games for their children. The day was made more special by involving the children in various games like Guess the Song, Tongue Twisters, Musical Chairs, etc. The winners were given chocolates as a token of love. The showstopper was an energetic and melodious song performance by the teachers. The Principal(off), Ms. Arpita Acharya, and Senior Wing Leader, Ms Preeti Phutela wished all the children happiness and added that they are the ‘Nation Builders’ as the future of the nation is vested in them. They expressed their hope that they would lead the nation successfully to its growth and prosperity, assuring them that they are loved and valued by all. GURU NANAK JAYANTI

“With your hands carve out your own destiny.” – Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Guru Nanak Jayanti, also known as Gurpurab marks the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. To celebrate this propitious festival, the students of Kalpana Chawla House (Primary Wing) organized a Special Assembly on November 07, 2022 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The students spoke about the sacred life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji with great respect. This was followed by a skit wherein the students expressed their gratitude towards the first of the ten Sikh Gurus and emphasized the importance of following his teachings in our lives. The presentation of a customary Prabhat Pheri filled the atmosphere with peace and tranquillity.

The rendition of soulful Shabad Kirtan by the school choir left the audience spellbound. At last, a thought-provoking video on the inspiring life of Guru Nanak Dev ji gave the audience food for thought.

The School Leadership Team wished everyone a Happy Gurupurab and encouraged all to follow the path of compassion, humility and equality as shown by Guru Nanak ji.

HARYANA DAY CELEBRATION

Haryana Day is celebrated on November 01 every year. To mark the day, a celebration was organised through a special assembly by the Blue Bellians, with traditional fervour and gaiety. The students of class 6C presented a skit, recited a poem and presented a mesmerising dance on the occasion.

Medals were also given to the winners of Yoga District Chamiponship. The assembly was addressed by respected (off) Principal, Ms. Arpita Acharya who encourage the students and appreciated the assembly.

INTER HOUSE COMPETITION ON THE THEME – ‘EAT RIGHT AND EAT HEALTHY’

“Human being is a master of his /her own health as it is the only wealth.”

A healthy diet is essential for good health and nutrition. It protects you against many chronic non-communicable diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Eating a variety of foods and consuming less salt, sugars, and saturated and industrially-produced trans-fats, are essential for a healthy diet. With an aim to stimulate young minds towards eating right for sound health, the Health & Wellness Programme of the school provides an opportunity for the students to participate in the ‘Eat Right India’ movement, a flagship program of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

 The Health & Wellness Team organized the ‘Eat Right Creativity Challenge’, under the inspirational guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS on October 28, 2022. In this challenge, the students of the Primary Wing made thought-provoking posters on "Eat Seasonal and Local". Middle & Senior Wing students participated in Inter House Competitions.

The motive of the ‘Eat Right Creativity Challenge’ was to ensure the health and well-being of people through safe food, and healthy and sustainable diets. Food habits are formed early in life and difficult to change them. As young Netizens are agents of change and their potential to influence entire families could be leveraged to change the way people eat. The students of all four houses enthusiastically competed in the competitions. Classes VI-VIII also made thoughtful posters on ‘Eat Local Eat Seasonal’, Classes IX to XII were involved in Eat Right Rangoli Competition, and Classes VI-XII made Eat Healthy Bulletin Board Decoration Competition on the theme- ‘Benefits of Millets’.

SAFE & GREEN DIWALI CELEBRATION

‘The festive light of Diwali brings in abounding happiness for all.’ Diwali is a festival that signifies the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and hope over despair. However, in recent years, extravagant celebrations have not only put a great strain on the environment but have also put people’s health at stake. Air pollution levels rise to dangerous levels, energy, and food wastage increase exponentially, plastic packaging and cracker debris litter the roads and several people and animals suffer physically.

Keeping these environmental, health & safety factors in mind, Safe and Green Diwali was celebrated under the aegis of the Health & Wellness Programme of the school in the Primary Wing and Middle & Senior Wing on October 18 & 19, 2022 respectively.   To root the students in the rich cultural heritage along with sensitizing them to preserve the resources, age-specific events were designed under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS. Ma’am is constantly working to integrate the best emergent practices of Values and Life Skills in the system.

A Special Assembly was organized for Primary Wing students by the Peer Educators of Classes VI & VII on the Safe and Green Diwali theme.  Peer educators presented the story in a creative manner through attractive props. The presentation was appreciated by all. Do’s and Don’t of the celebration were briefed to the students followed by an interactive Quiz. The students of the Middle & Senior Wing were engrossed in a plethora of activities -Class VI was involved in Card Making /Rangoli Designing, Class VII worked on Best out of Waste and Class VIII prepared a Recipe Booklet of Homemade Sweets. Class IX added melody to the occasion by composing Jingles on Diwali. The activities helped the students to think deeper and understand the true essence of celebration and propelled them to review the situation from a different perspective.

 The team urged the learners to ‘SAY NO TO CRACKERS’ and celebrate a Safe & Green Diwali. It was an earnest attempt by the Health and Wellness Team to create sensitivity on the issue along with creating an understanding of the real essence of celebrating Diwali.

WORLD FOOD DAY 2022

COMMITMENT TO WORK TOWARDS ZERO HUNGER ON WORLD FOOD DAY 2022

World Food Day is observed every year on 16 October and is dedicated to eliminating global hunger. The year 2022 finds the world still struggling with an ongoing pandemic, conflict, a climate that won’t stop warming, rising prices, and international tensions. This is affecting global food security.

Therefore, there is an earnest need to build a sustainable world where everyone, everywhere has regular access to enough nutritious food. With this as a guiding thought, the Health & Wellness Team under the inspirational mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS celebrated ‘World Food Day’ on the theme ‘The Road to Zero Hunger’ on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 on October 18, 2022. Diverse age-specific activities were designed by the Health & Wellness Team for the students of the Primary Wing, Middle Wing, and Senior Wing to sensitize the students on the wastage of food and how they can contribute to the road of Zero Hunger.

The students of Classes III-V   made thought-provoking Posters on  "Eat Seasonal and Local”. Class VI students were engrossed in Poster Making on reducing the wastage of food, Class VII students maintained a Food Log and paint Hunger Awareness quotes on T-shirts. The students of  Class VIII researched on hunger under three parameters-Causes, Statistics, and Suggested solutions to combat the grave situation. They showcased their understanding of Zero Hunger with an E-presentation. An engrossing Group Discussion was organized for the students of Class IX on integrated approaches that respond to the multiple, interconnected causes of hunger and malnutrition and encourage all to work together towards ending hunger.

The students enthusiastically participated in the activities, making this endeavour an enriching experience. The celebration is a testimony to the commitment to creating awareness among the netizens about the wastage of food and the need to eliminate hunger. 

22nd FOUNDATION DAY

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School celebrated its 22nd Foundation Day with reverence, great enthusiasm, and zeal. October 25 is celebrated as the Foundation Day of the school as the foundation stone of this temple of learning was laid on this significant day. It is a day of remembrance, a day of honouring, a day to celebrate what has been achieved over the years, and a day to look forward to what is yet to come.

A Hawan Ceremony was organised to mark the pious occasion. The students expressed their love towards their school through a series of week-long literary activities, friendly sports matches, and assemblies that were organised across all grades to mark the occasion.

It is with the support of all the stakeholders that Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School has grown from humble beginnings to its eminent stature today.

THEATRIX 2022- A TWO-DAY EXTRAVAGANZA OF EMOTIONS AND ENERGY

“Drama is exposure; it is confrontation; it is a contradiction and it leads to analysis, construction, recognition, and eventually to an awakening of understanding.” – Peter Brook.

Theatre is a strong medium of communication. In order to develop dramatic skills and promote teamwork among students, the Senior Wing of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School organized an Inter-house Theatre Fest- Theatrix 2022 on October 20 and 21, 2022.

The two-day Theatrical Presentation was an endeavour on the part of the students to capture the subtle nuances of feelings, emotions, and expressions through myriad plays by Chekov and Moliere in English and various playwrights in Hindi.

The event commenced with the Diya Lighting Ceremony and an invocation to the Almighty. Madam Arpita Acharya, Officiating Principal, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, welcomed everyone to the occasion.

The entire event is conceptualised and executed under the able guidance of Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academic Development and Innovation, Blue Bells Group of Schools. Ma’am declared the event open and encouraged the students to perform with complete conviction, confidence, and energy. Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director, Health and Wellness, Blue Bells Group of Schools also graced the occasion. The students were fortunate to be guided and adjudged by renowned experts and theatre artists including Mr. Gaurav Kumar, Ms. Neha Sarkar and Mr. Pratham Sharma. Mr. Anil Sanduja, a well-known and accomplished artist with over 30 years of experience in the fields of music and theatre joined in as the Special Guest. The schools from the CBSE Hubs of Learning initiative were present to witness the grand event. The Guests of Honour from overseas schools also joined in to witness the gala event through the Zoom platform. Ms. Nadezhda and Ms. Helen from Russia appreciated the efforts of the students and congratulated them for their efforts.

The hues of emotions that the grand stage witnessed over the two days is the testimony to the talent and skills that Blue Bellians possess. Live actors, presenting their take before a live audience, that too in real-time is no easy feat to accomplish, especially with competitors and judges evaluating even the soft nuances of the acting, the voice modulation, the body language, and the dialogue delivery of the actors. The students, their mentors, and the judges thoroughly lived and enjoyed the power of theatre as a tool of communication, as a means of spreading awareness, as an instrument forcing the blissfully unaware to take stock, as a potent device for empowerment over the two days.

 The judges wholeheartedly appreciated the energy and performance of the students and mentioned that the competition was too close and tough to adjudge. The winners were awarded, congratulated, and appreciated by Madam Soumya Gulati, the Leadership Team, guests, and the members of the jury. They were greeted with thunderous applause by a packed house of students. Kalpana Chawla House bagged the Overall Trophy for Theatrix 2022.

 Madam Preeti Phutela, Senior Wing Leader, extended the Vote of Thanks and acknowledged the hard work of all the team members. The results of the Event are:
