Assembly for the new Academic Session

TOWARDS ANOTHER NEW BEGINNING...

The commencement of the Academic Session 2023-24 witnessed happy faces with confident smiles as Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School welcomed the students of Grades X and XII to the school on March 09, 2023.

 To welcome the students, a special assembly was organised on the theme ‘The New Beginnings'. The assembly started with seeking the blessings of the Almighty for a successful and productive session ahead.

 After the regular features, Senior Wing Leader, Madam Preeti Phutela, addressed the students and bestowed upon them the pearls of wisdom as she spoke about the power of resilience and strength, and the need to inculcate it in all the students.

 The Principal, Mr Trilok Singh Bist, welcomed the students and encouraged them to continue instilling in themselves, the values of discipline, code of conduct, effective communication and importance of wearing proper uniform. Sir very aptly explained the importance of listening vs just hearing what the teachers talk about and teach in the classroom.

 The students promised to give their best and be more respectful than ever as they embark upon the new beginning.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR CLASSES X AND XII

An Orientation Programme was organised for the parents and students of Classes X and XII on March 06, 2023, to update them about the school rules including attendance, discipline and assessment. The students invoked the blessings of the Almighty through a Saraswati Vandana. The Principal, Mr. Trilok Singh Bist, extended a warm welcome to the parents and apprised them about the possible challenges that the students would meet and successfully overcome through the coming session. Madam Preeti Phutela, Senior Wing Leader, apprised the parents about the Code of Conduct the students are expected to follow at school.

 The teachers, through a PowerPoint Presentation, took the parents through an informative journey of what is to come through the session, including the teaching pedagogy, clubs and all other essential activities. Proposing the Vote of Thanks, the Principal, Mr. Bist congratulated the toppers of Classes IX and XI.

 The highlight of the day was The Science Corner, through which the students presented various science experiments and displayed the projects they have worked on, throughout the year.

After the Orientation Programme, the parents met the respective class teachers of their wards for Result Declaration and clarified their doubts about the forthcoming session. It was an enriching experience for the parents and was appreciated by all.

BDBBPS HOSTS THE ANNUAL FUNCTION – KRISHNAYAN -THE ETERNAL SAGA

 Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School celebrated its Annual Day cum Felicitation Ceremony on Sunday, the 26th of February, 2023 amidst great splendour, mirth and zest. The function celebrated the innocence residing in each child through the various childhood anecdotes from the life of Lord Krishna.

 Hon’ble Shri Sumit Kumar, Joint Commissioner, MCG, Gurugram, graced the occasion as the esteemed Chief Guest and Major Mohd. Ali Shah, TEDx Motivational Speaker, and Actor, was the Guest of Honour. Other dignitaries and members of the Management were also present on the occasion along with the members of the PTA, the Press, parents, and students.

 The programme commenced with the welcoming of the guests followed by the lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp by all the eminent dignitaries. A mesmerising Ganesh Vandana was presented to invoke the blessings of the Almighty for a successful event. The Vandana comprised of students playing musical instruments synchronizing in rhythm with the mellifluous serenading of the School’s budding singers and classical dancers.

 The Principal, Mr. Trilok Singh Bist, welcomed the guests and the gathering, and shared the School’s achievements through the Annual Report of the past session. Meritorious students were given prizes for excellence in Curricular and Co-curricular activities.

 The Cultural Extravaganza ‘Krishnayan- The Eternal Saga', based on the childhood stories of Lord Krishna was presented by the students of the Pre-primary and Primary Wing with utmost dedication, devotion and commitment. Stories of innocence, courage, humility, and honesty presented through a series of acts and dances, enthralled the guests and parents.

 The Chief Guest, in his address, appreciated the Blue Bellians for all their achievements. He encouraged the parents to be a role model for their children by taking care of the grandparents. He also emphasised the importance of letting the children choose the stream of their choice and believe in them.

 The Guest of Honour, Major Mohd. Ali Shah, TEDx Motivational Speaker and Actor addressed the gathering and motivated the students to work hard and pursue their dreams and aspirations.

 It was truly a sight to behold when the Grand Finale witnessed all the participating students and teachers on the stage together, chanting ‘Govind Bolo Hari Gopal bolo'. The parents joined in and later expressed how the excitement that was created and retained throughout the event gave them goosebumps.

 The Vote of Thanks was proposed by the Primary Wing Leader, Madam Meenakshi Malhotra. Ma’am expressed her gratitude towards all the distinguished guests, Management members, parents, and everyone at school who contributed towards the success of ‘Krishnayan -The Eternal Saga'.

 Honourable Director, Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, mesmerised with the performances, appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers and complimented the Principal for a magnificent show.

 The programme was befittingly closed with the National Anthem.

DISTRESS TO DE-STRESS: HANDLING EXAMINATION STRESS

During examinations, it is important for the students to be in a calm state of mind and to deal with any emotion which may be causing distress. To address the feelings and concerns of students and to help them manage their emotions; The Health & Wellness Resource Centre team under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS, prepared an interactive module on dealing with Examination Stress for the students. Dr. Alka with her team conducted the session for the students of Class IX on January 30 and February 01, 2023, and February 02, 2023 for Class XI respectively.

The session included:

·        Various signs and symptoms of stress

·        Internal and external factors that lead to stress during examinations

·        Identifying and dealing with automatic negative thoughts

·        Managing time effectively through prioritizing and making SMART Time Table

·        Being aware of obstacles to time management and how to handle it

·        Tips to increase productivity

·        Identifying and incorporating different learning styles

 

In order to improve the concentration span, a few concentration exercises were conducted which were appreciated by the students. These exercises were followed by a short progressive muscular relaxation and guided imagery.

Students enjoyed the healthy lifestyle walk. where the importance of a healthy lifestyle was presented in a creative manner. The healthy lifestyle walk emphasized on balanced diet, regular exercise and good sleeping habits.

The session concluded on a positive note where it was shared with the students that they can connect individually with the Resource Center Team as well as the Life Skills facilitators for any further support.

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

BDBBPS ORGANISES ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET 2023

Annual Sports Day is an important day on the calendar of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School. This day speaks for the commitment that the school holds to sports at so many levels. Beyond the obvious health and activity benefits, sports can teach us so much about life, whether it be teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship and so much more!

 This year the School organized its Annual Athletic Meet, ‘Unstoppables.....On a Winning Spree’ on Sunday, February 12, 2023. 100 percent of Students from Classes VI to VIII participated in an array of athletic events, which were witnessed by the guests and parents who gathered in large numbers.

 The occasion was graced by the presence of the revered Chief Guest, Captain Indu Boken, District Education Officer, Gurugram. The Special Guests for the day were Ms. Sandhu Bala, District Sports Officer, Gurugram, and Ms. Vanshika Kataria, Olympic Swimmer. Honourable Director, Dr Saroj Suman Gulati and Madam Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director, IT, BBGS, also graced the occasion as our esteemed guests. Dr. Trilok Singh Bist, Principal, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, extended the formal welcome to all the distinguished guests and parents.

 The event began with the students Marching past smartly in the contingents, according to their Houses. Director Madam took the salute and declared the event open.

 Excited shouts of glee from the parents and audience cheered and greeted the participants. The Torch Lighting Ceremony had everyone excited as the sports achievers, both past and present, of the school ran with the torch and took it to the platform. A number of races like Relay Race, Hurdle Race, Sprint Race,  Flaggothon, including tug-of-war (for the parents) were held on the school ground. In between races, the audience was entertained through various enchanting performances, graceful presentations of Aerobics, and a scintillating display of Yoga and Mass Drill. The games and races organized for the parents saw impressive participation. The achievers of the Sports Day were felicitated by the Chief Guest and other distinguished guests. C V Raman House won the First Position and clinched the Rolling Trophy for being the Best House throughout the year and on Sports Day as well.

 The Chief Guest addressed the gathering through her motivational speech in which she advised everyone to participate in the field of sports and also shared many benefits of co-curricular activities.

 The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Middle Wing Leader, Ms. Suneeta Kaul. The Meet saw its culmination with the National Anthem.

 The winners, both students, and parents, went home with medals and prizes, which will always remind them of the wonderful time and experience they had at Unstoppables....On a Winning Spree, the Annual Sports Meet 2022-23.

HAWAN CEREMONY

SEEKING THE BLESSINGS OF THE ALMIGHTY FOR STUDENTS' SUCCESS IN BOARD EXAMS

 The portals of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School were filled with the sounds of prayers and the aroma of incense as a ‘Hawan Ceremony' was organised on February 10, 2023, to seek the blessings of the Almighty for the students appearing in class X and XII Board Examinations.

 The teachers and students participated in the hawan with utmost devotion and prayed that their hard work and dedication should reap the rewards of success. Honourable Director, Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, and Principal, Mr. Trilok Singh Bist extended their best wishes to the students for their upcoming Board Exams and encouraged them to put in the best of their efforts. On behalf of the students, the Head Boy, Manan Agarwal, and Head Girl, Tamanna Yadav thanked the Management and teachers for all their years and learning at school.

Global collaboration offers many benefits to students, including developing communication skills, building healthy relations and a sense of interconnectedness, teaching students to overcome barriers and form bridges to other cultures, and preparing students for increasingly globalized workplaces.

 

Our students at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School Sector 10, Gurugram had a golden opportunity to have a cultural exchange program with a school from Russia, Secondary School No.5, Krasnoyarsk on February 03, 2023.

 The students from Grade XI, led by the Head Boy, Mudit Ahlawat, and Head Girl, Aaina Yadav, gave a presentation on India's culture and bilateral relations between India and Russia. The group also comprised the School Ambassador Ranya and other members of the Student Council. They also participated in a quiz on Russia created by their Russian friends on the platform Quizzes. Students from both schools had an interactive session post-presentation.

 We are thankful to Ms. Nadezhda Ivanova from Russia for this wonderful opportunity and look forward to many more projects in collaboration.

SCIENCE AND INNOVATION CLUB ASSEMBLY

"Science is a beautiful gift to humanity; we should not distort it."

 Science and Innovation Club at Brahm Dutt Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School promotes the scientific interest in the students. It helps the students realize their scientific skills and fulfill their quest in doing science activities. The club aims to provide a platform to the students to instil scientific concepts in them. It also aims to organize Seminars, Workshops, Exhibitions and Quiz competitions to inculcate students' knowledge and skill in the field of science and technology.

 To trigger interest among the students in Science, a special assembly was conducted by the students of the Science & Innovation Club on February 2, 2023.

 Guided by their mentor, the assembly included a short skit, a presentation, a speech, and an extremely informative quiz. The assembly was addressed by respected Principal Sir. He motivated the students to innovate and generate new ideas that can be applied in day-to-day life for the betterment of humanity. He also motivated the students to get their innovative ideas patented.

ASTRONOMY SESSION

" Astronomy compels the soul to look upward and lead us from this world to another." – Plato

 The Astronomy Club Sessions were held for the students of Classes III to IX on January 31, 2023, from 11:30 to 1:40 pm in two separate batches for classes III to V and VI to IX, respectively. Ms. Mallika from THE SPACE, India was the facilitator for the session. She took the session with 21 students in each session.

For Classes III to V, the 'Magic of Light' was taken up through various activities. Few concepts of Light were taken up by the storytelling method and few hands-on activities were conducted so that students could gain clarity of the concepts discussed.

The session included a presentation on the topic ‘Exploring the Hydrobot’ for students of classes VI to IX and creating one to understand the concept of hydraulics. Students understood that moving fluids have so much power that they can be used to lift heavy cars, apply brakes in vehicles, steer motorboats and even help in the movement of the Canadarm in the International Space Station!

 Students constructed a "Hydrobot" a device that is powered by water and can-do tasks without much human intervention. This inspired them to believe that real-world problems can be solved with simple scientific principles.

 The students were also given a handbook that contained details of Hydrobot and Magic of light, a practice kit, and certificates on completion of the module.

They were excited and happy to learn the concepts and their applications through experimental learning.

PARIKSHA PAR CHARCHA 6.0– SCREENING OF THE LIVE TELECAST OF PM MODI’S TALK SHOW ON DEALING WITH EXAMINATION STRESS

Examination stress is a feeling of pressure that many young students experience when the exams are approaching. It usually occurs during the revision period before the exams and immediately before writing the exams.

With Class X and Class XII Examinations round the corner, Hon'ble Prime Minister once again interacted with a cross-section of school students, teachers and parents with 'Pariksha Par Charcha 6.0' on January 27, 2023.

All stakeholders of the school, especially the students of Classes IX to XII , their parents and teachers religiously participated in PPC 2023 in the online mode on the different themes on  www.mygov.in website.
