REPORT OF CLASS ASSEMBLY - XII B

HOW DID APRIL GET ITS NAME

An assembly was organised by the students of Class XII B on the topic 'How Did April Get its Name '. The students presented a very interesting and meaningful assembly highlighting the exciting theories given behind calling it 'April' and kept the audience engrossed with a beautiful poem, informative quiz, and interesting game, all centered around the same theme.

 Senior Wing Leader, Madam Preeti Phutela appreciated the students and apprised them about the significance of Mahavir Jayanti and encouraged the students to imbibe his teachings in their daily routine. Respected Principal Sir, Dr. Trilok Singh Bist addressed the students and congratulated them for presenting a wonderful assembly.

World Health Day Activities

‘Investing in health today will lead to a brighter and healthier future tomorrow.’

With the aim to empower students to take charge of their health and make right choices that would benefit them throughout their lives, World Health Day was celebrated on April 7, 2023 in Classes Pre-Nursery to V with great gusto.

Well-planned sessions on Yoga and Aerobics helped the tiny tots improve their flexibility and strength. The students also brought healthy and nutritious food which was a testament to the efforts of the school to sensitize students about the significance of a balanced diet and the essential nutrients required for growth and development.

A Special Assembly was organised by the students of Kalpana Chawla House of the Primary Wing on the theme ‘Health for All’. The highlight of the assembly was a very thought-provoking Talk Show in which students talked about various health issues being faced by people, reasons behind various diseases and the effective ways to maintain good health in the long term. The students also expressed their thoughts and ideas on following healthy regimes through poem recitation and Yoga Presentation.

Addressing the students on the occasion, the School Leadership Team encouraged the students to do both physical as well as mental exercises to maintain good health. Students were motivated to continue adopting healthy habits and practices in their daily lives.

TRANSITION SESSION FOR CLASS VI

“Transitions in life can offer opportunities for discovery.” – Robbie Shell

Adolescence is a phase where an individual assumes a sense of self-identity and is marked by a myriad of emotions. It is a transitional phase between childhood and adulthood and is characterized by a number of physical, emotional, cognitive and social.

Children’s experience of educational transitions has an impact on their learning and development, well-being, and their engagement with the school. To address the concerns of the young adolescents and provide appropriate information, the Health & Wellness Programme of the school organized a ‘Transition Session’ for the students of Class V graduated to Class VI on April 6, 2023. The session is an indigenous initiative under the motivational leadership of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools.

To understand the feelings, perception and expectations of students, an activity was organized in Class VI by the Health & Wellness Resource Center Team. The students were divided into groups and They were asked to frame a collage based on their thoughts, feelings, perception and expectations on joining the Middle Wing.

The activity based experiential learning session was especially curated by the team on April 6, 2023. In an interactive session, Dr. Alka addressed feelings and concerns of  the students related to moving to a new wing and shared ways in which they can adapt effectively to the change which is apropos to growth. Art of conversation was shared which would  help students to make new friends. Dr. Saxena shared with the students how they can divide difficult task in small parts and learn them effectively. She also talked about how taking small steps and managing time effectively will help them organize their studies  and further help them to  prepare well for studies and cope with these changes. Ms. Renu Khare, and Ms. Sonia, Health & Wellness team members, apprised the students about the Health & Wellness Programme followed in the Middle Wing. The Peer Educators from Class VII , Harnoor, Charvi Vashisht, and Nistha Makkar ,  also shared their last session’s experience. The students briefed their juniors about their apprehensions and how they managed everything effectively with the support of Life Skills and scaled through the transition phase easily. 

Ms. Meenakshi Malhotra, Primary Wing In-charge congratulated the students for their performance in class V and encouraged them to carry forward this legacy to the next class.  Ms. Sunita Kaul, the Middle Wing In-charge warmly welcomed the students and introduced them to the subject teachers of Class VI which helped them to relax and feel comfortable. Dr. Trilok Singh Bist, the Principal of the school bestowed his good wishes and blessings on the students. The school team assured the students that they would not only get the support of their new teachers but also their previous teachers as well. It is one of the constructive steps taken by the Health & Wellness team to help the students understand and adapt to the changes with ease.

BDBBPS WELCOMES THE STUDENTS TO SESSION 2023-24

“Every day is the new beginning, a chance to take our first step, a step that can promise us a new horizon and a whole lot of new possibilities.”

With the spirits and heads held high, students of the Middle and Senior Wings joined back the school walking into the new session with mixed feelings of excitement and thrill. To extend a formal welcome to our Blue Bellians, the students of Class XII conducted a Special Assembly on Monday, April 03, 2023 in the Seminar Hall in two separate slots.

The assembly started by seeking the blessings of Almighty. An array of features like news, thought, pledge and a mesmerising talk on the Starting Afresh created a positive aura. To add fun and surprise element in the assembly, a quiz was conducted on New Beginnings and the participants were aptly rewarded. The quiz aimed towards sensitizing our students about the importance of accepting changes and challenges in a fun-filled manner. The highlight of the Assembly was the movie Restart, conceptualised and directed by the students of Class XII under the guidance of the Head Boy, Mudit Ahlawat. The movie aimed at understanding the importance of following our dreams and selecting the streams in Class XI according to our capabilities and interests.

The joy was evident on the faces of the children as they got back into the school activities and routine for the session.

Our Respected Principal, Mr. Trilok Singh Bist shared the mantra of being a perfect student with everyone present. He also encouraged the students to integrate the core values like punctuality, kindness and understanding in their daily lives. He guided the students on how every small step taken now can go a long way in life.

Middle Wing Leader, Ms. Sunita Kaul welcomed the students and encouraged them to give their best in the new session. Senior Wing Leader, Ms. Preeti Phutela welcomed the students and apprised them about the G20 Summit Activities. Ma’am shared with the students how India will convene the G20 Leaders’ Summit for the first time in 2023, as 43 Heads of Delegations- the largest ever in the G20–will participate in the final New Delhi Summit in September later this year. It was an entertaining and lively assembly that set the tone for the upcoming session.

Orientation Programme-Classes I -V

Education is a shared responsibility between educators and parents, and to establish a strong collaboration with parents to achieve the best outcomes for the learners, Orientation Programmes were held in staggered slots for Classes I & II and III to V on March 28 and 29, 2023 respectively.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by the chanting of Gayatri Mantra and a mesmerizing Ganesh Vandana. The Principal, Mr. Trilok Singh Bist extended a warm welcome to the parents. The facilitators familiarized the parents with the school's teaching pedagogy, curriculum, evaluation process, IT education, Health and Wellness Program, safety and security, and co-scholastic activities.

The Integrated Thematic Approach, which is an intrinsic part of the teaching pedagogy, was highlighted through theme-based presentations.  In Classes I & II, different subjects were integrated through a theme 'Our Green Friends' whereas in Classes III-V, the thematic integration was done around the theme ‘Machines’. Apart from languages and science, performing arts and IT were also integrated with the theme in a beautiful manner. A fun-filled Yoga Session was highly appreciated by the parents. The integration of physical education was showcased through a Skating Dance.  When the little skaters entered the stage, gliding on their skates, a kind of machine, the parents were left awe-struck.

The School Leadership Team and facilitators efficiently responded to the queries from the parents, making it an extremely informative and enriching experience for all.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

With the purpose to initiate the delightful process of teaching-learning for the Session 2023-24, and to acquaint the parents with the rules and regulations of the school, Orientation Programmes were held in staggered slots for Classes VI to IX and XI on March 25 and 27, 2023.

The programme commenced with an invocation to Goddess Sarawati, the diety of knowledge and wisdom which was followed by a warm Welcome Address to the parents and students, by the Principal, Mr. Trilok Singh Bist. The enigmatic Dance Presentation, ‘ If you believe, you can…’ made everyone join in to the beats of the committed Blue Bellians.

The Teachers gave a comprehensive presentation, apprising the parents about the latest achievements, curriculum, rules and regulations, assessment parameters, Health and Wellness Programme and other facilities provided by the school. The students also put up their Science projects made through the year in the Science Corner which attracted their friends and parents alike.

Madam Preeti Phutela, Senior Wing Leader presented the Code of Conduct every Blue Bellian is expected to follow and addressed the queries of the parents. The event was a sincere attempt to communicate all the necessary information to the parents and clarify their doubts so that there is a better connect resulting in strong collaboration between the parents and the school.

Learning Unbound Chapter 2022-23

At Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, we believe in imparting education that inspires confidence to develop confident and capable future leaders who take ownership of their decisions. The idea is that these leaders will take responsibility for their decisions and will be committed to making a positive impact in the world in the long run. In sync with the same, various opportunities are created for the young learners wherein they get to showcase their extra-ordinary talents and abilities which they develop over a period of time as a result of well-planned curriculum. With this aim, an academic fest ‘Learning Unbound Chapter 2022-23’, a much-awaited annual event was organised for the students of the Primary Wing on March 12, 2023. The event was conceptualized by the In-house Learning and Development Centre ‘The Learning Space’ under the motivational leadership of Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director (Academic Development and Innovation), Blue Bells Group of Schools.

Through the theme ‘Nature-The Essence of Life’, an attempt was made to showcase how our young learners: the little saviours of nature are taking action, making a difference, and inspiring others to preserve and protect the environment. 

The learning progression of the students in sync with the Transdisciplinary approach was clearly evident in the models, projects and activities of the students. The working model of Hydroponics attracted parents as it is an innovative and sustainable method of growing plants without soil, ensuring faster growth, and significant water savings.

The parents visited in large numbers and were immensely impressed with the entire display and appreciated the concept of the event and its presentation. They were enthralled by the display of the activities by the students which showcased the concepts learned in Classes III to V. Hands-on experiments, art and craft, live sculpture counter, astronomy showcase, integrated fun sports activities and the cultural events comprising of Street Play, Live Singing by the choir, Mime Presentation and thematic dances were well connected to the theme ‘Nature-The Essence of Life’ . The Yoga and Aerobics presentations showcased not only physical prowess but also emphasized the mental discipline and mindfulness that physical activities can cultivate.

The Health &Wellness team under the inspirational guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director, Health & Wellness, Blue Bells Group of Schools created a soulful corner Elixir: ‘Find Your Essence’. The corner added a Midas touch to the event ‘Unwrapping Learning packages’, imparting a thoughtful outlook to the parents. An overview of the Health & Wellness Programme was displayed which peeped into the kaleidoscopic glimpse of various activities and events for students, parents and teachers under the Health & Wellness programme conceptualized by ADEPT- A Program for Enhancing Skills, powered by Wellnesswise.in. Primary Wing students apprised the parents about the blog, Wellnesswise by Dr. Alka. Students, through the Mascots of School Cinema Movies helped parents to understand the importance of acknowledging different values, life skills and emotions in order to have a holistic approach.

Inspirational Movies by School Cinema was screened during the program, which showcased the Value based learning inculcated in students during their values education classes.  Students welcomed the parents and engaged them in interesting and thought-provoking energizers and activities related to the movies. The parents experienced hands on activities like ‘Tongue Twisters’, ‘Newspaper Gift Wrapping’, and ‘Mark Your State’ with full zeal and vigour and appreciated the students’ performance. These activities reflected in- house teaching methodologies which make learning fun-filled and impactful.

The ICT enabled games and Robotics arena showcased the technical aptitude of the students. The corner was put up innovatively under the leadership of Ms. Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director –IT, BBGS. Robots designed by the school tech geniuses were the centre of attraction for all.

The little bakers were ready to showcase their culinary creativity, organization skills and teamwork in the food corner ‘Feast-o-Fiesta’, the food corner wherein they sold delectable baked items.

The enthusiastic support of parents and school leaders, along with seamless teamwork, made the event a success and a testament to the school's values.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME (PRE-Primary)

‘Collaboration between parents and educators is the key to unlocking the full potential of our children.’

At Brahm Dutt Blue Bells, we strongly believe in treating parents as co-partners so as to ensure the best possible outcomes for the learners. In sync with this thought, an Orientation Programme was held for the parents of Classes Pre-Nursery, Nursery & KG in staggered slots on March 25, 2023.

 The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp along with the chanting of Gayatri Mantra. A mesmerising Ganesh Vandana was presented to invoke the blessings from the lord of new beginnings. The parents were accorded a warm welcome by the Principal, Mr. Trilok Singh Bist and the Primary Wing Leader, Ms. Meenakshi Malhotra. Thereafter, the facilitators, through a very comprehensive presentation, acquainted the parents with the teaching pedagogy, transdisciplinary approach in the curriculum, evaluation process, Health and Wellness Programme, IT Education, safety and security and co-scholastic activities of the school.

 In an attempt to give the parents a glimpse of the Integrated Thematic Approach, which is an intrinsic part of the Teaching Pedagogy, a presentation on the theme ‘Plants’ was given by the students. The parents were left awestruck as a complex concept was made easy for the young learners by integrating it with different subjects including performing arts. A session on ‘Laughter Yoga’ was highly appreciated by the parents. At the end, Skating Dance by the little skaters was a highlight of the event.

The queries of the parents were effectively addressed by the School Leadership Team along with the facilitators. It was a highly informative and enriching experience for all.

We, at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells, strongly believe that the students must be empowered with the 21st Century Skills and a tech-friendly mindset in order to enable them to thrive in the fast-paced, tech-driven future.

In sync with the same, Chrysalis Day was organized by the school for the students of Classes I&II on March 14, 2023 under the able guidance of Madam Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director (IT), and Blue Bells Group of Schools. This competition provided a platform to the students to showcase their expertise in information technology by presenting their creativity using the software Tux Paint and Open Office Impress on the topics Nature, Save Animals, Save Forest etc.  

The Principal congratulated the students for showcasing their tech skills with an utmost level of perfection.
