INTER-HOUSE DANCE COMPETITION TO MARK INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY

 ‘The art of art, the glory of expression and the sunshine of the light of movement and grace is simplicity…’

Dance is a sadhana, an intense communication with the divine that brings eternal delight. To pay a tribute to millions of people across generations who have dedicated their lives to this craft of enchantment and commemorate International Dance Day, an Inter-House Dance Competition was organized by Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School on April 25, 2023, in two genres -Classical and Western Dance forms.

 The students showcased a beautiful blend of dance forms by presenting Kathak, Jazz & Hip Hop, and Popping.  True to the theme of celebrating the versatility of life through dance, the vivacious dancers set the floor on fire with their energetic performances. The choreography, rhythm, synchronization, and presentation of all the students left the audience gasping for more. As they say, creative people make the pursuit of excellence their priority, the hard work, passion, and commitment of all performers were commendable.

The adjudicators, Mr. Sonu and Ms. Sakshi, dance faculty from BBMS,  appreciated and lauded the efforts of all four houses in both genres. In the closely contested competition, it was a difficult call for the judges to adjudge the winners.

Speaking on the occasion, Senior Wing Leader, Ms. Preeti Phutela appreciated the event and elaborated DANCE as a means of inculcating Discipline, Attitude, New Confidence and Expression. Dr. Trilok Singh Bist, Principal, highlighted the importance of dance and its positive effects on children. He also highlighted the importance of integrating dance with other curricular activities.

FIELD TRIP FOR CLASS VIII

"One learns from books and examples only that certain things can be done. Actual learning requires that you do those things.” — Frank Herbert

 In accordance with the above statement, the school organised an educational trip to crop fields at Gari Harsu village on April 24, 2023, for the students of Grade VIII.

  The objective of this trip was to sensitize the students about Crop Production and Management. The students got a first-hand experience of the agricultural practices followed while growing crops, acquainted with agriculture implements, types of crops, methods of cultivation, organic manures, chemical fertilizers, weed control measures, pesticides, and insecticides. They saw many vegetables like gourds, lady finger, cabbage, etc growing in fields. It was a wonderful learning experience for them. The doubts of the students were also cleared by holding an interactive session with farmers after the field visit.

 Indeed, it was a fruitful trip where the students not only learned about the nuances of agricultural processes but also the importance of food and gratefulness for the farmers who put in so much labour while producing these grains.

Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament 2023 Under the Aegis of GPSC

 Sports are a crucial part of a student’s growth and development. They help in the development of mental health and physical fitness in the body. Through participation in sports and games, a student gains various skills, experience, and confidence that are helpful for developing their personality. In pursuance of this objective and to pay a tribute to its Founder Chairperson Shri Brahm Dutt Gulati, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School hosted the Shri. Brahm Dutt Gulati Memorial Table Tennis Tournament 2023 under the aegis of GPSC where 16 schools from Gurugram competed against each other. Conducted in honour of the Founder Chairperson, Shri Brahm Dutt Gulati, the tournament provides young table tennis talent of the city a platform to showcase their skills.

 The Opening Ceremony of the tournament was graced by the presence of Ms. Alka Singh, General Secretary, GPSC and Principal, Blue Bells Model School, who declared the event open. The event commenced with an invocation to the Almighty, warm welcome by Dr. Trilok Singh Bist, Principal, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, and the Oath Taking Ceremony where the student leaders of participating schools administered the oath to play the game in the right earnest. The students presented a mesmerising classical dance as a befitting start to the event.

 The Closing Ceremony of the event witnessed the presence of Mr. Ashish Gulati, Vice Chairman, Blue Bells Group of Schools, as the esteemed Chief Guest for the occasion. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools, and Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academic Development and Innovation, Blue Bells Group of Schools were among the other dignitaries present on the occasion. Mr. Ashish Gulati in his address appreciated the zeal of the participants toward the entire event.

A mesmerizing dance performance highlighting the spirit of games and sports added vibrance and fervour to the event. Madam Preeti Phutela, Senior Wing Leader proposed the Vote of Thanks.

EARTH DAY ASSEMBLY

‘Earth is a masterpiece of nature. Preserving its beauty is worth every effort to make the future generations enjoy it too.’

In sync with this thought, Special Assemblies were organised by the students of Classes VB and VIII B in different slots on April 20, 2023 on the occasion of Earth Day. The assemblies carried an important message that collective efforts and small actions can lead to a positive change towards the betterment of our wonderful planet.

In the assembly of Class VB, alongwith the regular features of the assembly, students presented a beautiful song that showcased their dedication towards following environmental-friendly practices in their daily lives, in order to protect and preserve the Earth's natural beauty. It was followed by a delightful skit presentation, ‘Earth Day Carol’.  The skit showcased the protagonist being a person who littered around but later realised the impact of his actions on the environment. It was not only entertaining but also thought-provoking, as it highlighted the importance of being mindful of our actions and their impact on the planet.

 The students of Class VIII B, through an inspiring skit, showcased the effects of global warming and how we, as responsible citizens could try to reverse its effects. It was followed by an interesting quiz in which students participated zealously. A scintillating theme-based dance performance added more meaning to the celebration.

The School Leadership Team urged the students to make a difference in preserving the environment by taking small steps as each step will have a significant impact on the future of our planet.

Celebration of World Heritage Day

According to UNESCO, "Heritage is our legacy, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations. Our natural and cultural heritage are both irreplaceable sources of life and inspiration."

Every year April 18 is observed as World Heritage Day to raise awareness about conserving our cultural diversity and heritage. In order to celebrate the day and make everyone aware about the importance of preserving our heritage, the students of Class XII C organised an informative and interesting assembly.

 Paying tribute to the Indian culture, the students started the assembly with a Ganesh Vandana. After the regular features, the students presented a skit which highlighted the various games of the yesteryears and made everyone nostalgic. The speech, which was followed by a quiz, was very informative and helped the students in understanding their roots even better. The rich culture of India was also showcased through different dance forms which left the audience spellbound.

  The teachers, in their address appreciated the assembly and encouraged the students to respect their parents and preserve their culture. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Trilok Singh Bist, Principal, appreciated the efforts of the students and shared a few 'shlokas' which, if chanted regularly, would help the students in staying connected with their roots.

BAISAKHI CELEBRATION(MIDDLE WING)

Amidst the rich harvest,

Across the lush greenery,

Baisakhi has arrived,

In all its majesty – so let’s rejoice and celebrate.

 On April 13, 2023, the students of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School celebrated the festival of Baisakhi in high spirits. A well-planned assembly was organised by the students of Class VIII A. The aim of the assembly was to acquaint the students with the harvest festival of Baisakhi and its significance in our culture.

 The assembly started with morning prayer and a pledge. After delivering the news and the thought, the students, by means of a skit, demonstrated the importance and significance of Baisakhi in India. To add to the festivities, students also presented 'Shabad' and a ‘Bhangra ‘, all dressed in bright and colourful attire.

 Students recalled the contribution of the 10th Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh, whose birthday falls on the occasion. The children had a lot of fun and enjoyed doing Bhangra with their friends.

 While speaking on the occasion, Principal of the school, Dr. Trilok Singh Bist said that Baisakhi is not only a harvest festival but also an auspicious day as on this day Guru Gobind Singh ji had established the 'Khalsa Panth'.

 The assembly came to an end on a cheerful note with the students dancing to the tunes of Bhangra songs.

INTER HOUSE BHANGRA COMPETITION

‘Festivals are the threads that weave us together and herald a time for joy.’

We, at Blue Bells, constantly promote cultural diversity and foster a sense of appreciation for India's rich heritage among our students. With this aim, Baisakhi celebration was held with utmost enthusiasm and fervour in Classes Pre-Nursery to V on April 13, 2023.

The students showcased their appreciation for culture through different art and craft activities. The entire campus was adorned with beautiful ‘Dhols’ and ‘Kites’ which students had made with colourful papers. The students of Class V left everyone awestruck with the way they had painted their handkerchiefs in a hands-on activity.

An ‘Inter-house Bhangra Competition’ was organised for the students of Classes III – V. The competition was filled with rhythmic beats, colourful costumes, and captivating performances of the participants of all four houses. The competition was judged by Ms. Sonia Mehndiratta (Senior English Faculty), Dr. Shivali Joshi (School Activity Coordinator) and Ms. Suneeta Kaul (Middle Wing Leader). They appreciated the commitment and talent displayed by each team. The results of the competition are as under-

EDUCATIONAL COUNSELLING SESSION

Educational Guidance Session on "The Career Path Ahead in the USA"

 In order to clarify several doubts regarding academic goals and guide students towards informed steps towards their educational aspirations to study in the USA, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School organised an educational Counselling Session on April 11, 2023, for the students of Classes XI and XII. The session that witnessed the participation of around 200 students intended to make them acquainted with the possible educational avenues abroad. The Counsellor for the day was Mr. Can (Jon) Erdogmus, who, coming directly from the USA, gave the students first-hand information about various courses, scholarships and internships available there.

 Keeping in mind the academic pursuit and vocational aspirations of the students, the counsellor addressed the list of inquisitive queries that students raised in the discussion. Before beginning the formal discussion, the counsellor impelled the students to think about their interests and preferences with a prime focus on what they relish doing in life. He then guided them about the right route to be taken to reach their study destination abroad. He was also accompanied by Ms. Sananda Das Gupta, another counsellor who guided the students about choosing the right options at the right time. They also have time for students to talk to them one-on-one and clarify their doubts.

 The Principal, Mr. Trilok Singh Bist thanked the guests for sparing their valuable time and guiding the students in the direction of pursuing their dreams.

 At Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, it is our constant endeavour to ensure that our students are able to strike the right career choices and are groomed into holistic individuals for a successful and fulfilling life ahead. In sync with the same, eminent Speakers and Career Counsellors address the students regularly, and give them a detailed account of various career choices they can make in accordance with their aptitude, interest, passion, and personality.

On April 08, 2023, the parents and students of BDBBPS had the wonderful opportunity to interact with the most renowned Parenting and Life Coach, and International TEDx Speaker , Dr. Shankar Goenka. Sir addressed the gathering and left everyone spellbound with his eloquence. He shared his expertise on various topics of interest including setting goals, the power of striking the right connect with the children, listening attentively, etc. The parents also got an opportunity to ask questions and clarify their doubts in the Question-and-Answer Session. The way he connected with the audience was truly admired by one and all.

 Dr. Trilok Singh Bist, Principal, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, presented the token of reverence to sir and thanked him for sparing his valuable time. Madam Preeti Phutela, Senior Wing Leader, also expressed her gratitude to sir for the delightful and informative session.

FOUNDER’S DAY : CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School celebrated its 21st Founder’s Day to commemorate the beginning of the first academic session of the school and to express gratitude to Founder Chairman Shri B. D. Gulati, a great visionary who transformed a vision into a concrete reality. It was on this day in the year 2003 that the school started functioning. The celebration began with an auspicious Havan in the gracious presence of Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Honourable Director, BBGS.

To celebrate the school's rich legacy and honour its vision and mission of contributing to cognitive, emotional and physical development of students, a host of activities were conducted.  A wonderful Art Fest was organized for the students of Grades KG-III that gave them an opportunity to showcase their creative skills. The students from Grades III to V participated in the ‘My School Quiz’, where they answered questions related to the school. As Sports is an integral part of the school curriculum, Inter-house Football Match and Cricket Match were organised for the students of Grades IV and V respectively. Radha Krishnan House was declared the Winner and C.V. Raman House, the Runner-up of the Football Match whereas Kalpana Chawla House secured the top position and Sarojini Naidu House was declared the Runner-up in the Cricket match. The victorious teams of both the games were awarded medals by the esteemed Director Madam. The enthusiasm continued as the students of Grades VI-XII showcased their affection for the school through creative activities like Greeting Card Making, Poetry Composition, Slogan Writing, Poster Making, and Paragraph Writing.  These thoughtfully curated activities not only promoted the development of artistic and intellectual skills of the students but also cultivated among them, a strong sense of belongingness and pride towards their school.
