SPIC MACAY PROGRAMME

Culture is a powerful force for good in the world. When people from different cultures come together to share their stories and experiences, it can break down barriers and build bridges of understanding. SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) is a non-political, nationwide, voluntary movement founded in 1977 by Dr. Kiran Seth with the same motive and purpose.

 The most accomplished artist Ms. Ragini Chandreshekhar rendered a one-hour program of Indian classical dance, Bharatnatyam, at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School. The session was attended by the students of the Middle Wing alongwith students from 5 other schools.

 Ms. Ragini along with her team members mesmerised the audience with her majestic performance of the famous classical dance. She also interacted with the students and gave valuable lessons and tips to them about Bhartanatyam.The students enjoyed the dance and were mesmerized to see the different hand movements and gestures used by her. She also explained to the students, the meaning of the word Bharatanatyam which consists of the first syllables of the words bha va (expression), ra ga (melody), ta la (rhythm) and natyam (dance). The programme was thoroughly enjoyed by the students and they were highly inspired by the performance. The Head Girl of the school, Aaina Yadav, proposed the Vote of Thanks.

CLIMATE ACTION PROJECT

The Climate Action Project is a 6-week project allowing students across the globe to collaborate on environmental topics. Over the course of the project, students are exploring the causes and effects of climate change and are getting the opportunity to develop solutions and take action.

We are currently working on the fourth week’s activity.

The last 2 week’s Activities viz: What is Climate Change, Effect of Climate Change- longest list of Effects, #plantED have been a real enriching experience.

The third week’s activity was Shift from Local to Global: Causes & Impact of Climate Change on our cities, countries and continents.

As a part of the same, we had an International Connect with schools across the country and globe including schools from Kolkata, Delhi, Noida, Mumbai, Ooty, Jakarta (Indonesia), and few more countries.

The students from the countries shared their local climatic problems, solutions and how the government, local bodies, citizens and students are working together towards the common goal. We also discussed how each one of us are impacting the global climate.

Funlish Language School, Kolkata gave an introduction to the topic. The presentation was conducted on Climate Change of Gurugram and Calculating the Carbon Footprint by Ishaan Singh and Nandini Kaushik, grade VIII students, the students of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School explaining the effect of climate, measures taken by our school like zero plastic, RO water recycling, practicing 3R's, segregation of waste, CNG buses, carpooling, etc to prevent our climate change also reducing our carbon footprints.

Later the presentations were given by Jakarta and other countries students explaining the problem of drought, floods, and other calamities that have been caused in due to climate changes and how they are trying to overcome these problems.

 In the Question-and-Answer section Prableen Kaur from Grade VI, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, raised the questions to identify the ways in which the students and schools are working together to save environment.

 The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms Meenakshi Malhotra - Wing In-charge.

BUDDING AUTHORS’ CLUB ASSEMBLY

Putting one's thoughts into words effectively is a prerequisite to being successful in today's world. In sync with the same, a special assembly was conducted on October 17, 2023, by the members of the Budding Authors' Club. The assembly, along with the regular features, had an informative talk about various writers, a speech about the happenings of the Club, and a beautiful Hindi poem. The students participated enthusiastically in the quiz that was conducted. Ms Preeti Phutela, Senior Wing Leader, appreciated the students' efforts and spoke about the importance of being realistic in our lives.

FOUNDATION DAY 2023

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School's Celebrates 23rd Foundation Day with Pride and Elation

On October 25, 2023, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School proudly celebrated its 23rd Foundation Day, marking a significant milestone in the institution's journey. The day was filled with reverence and enthusiastic participation from both students and staff.

 The celebration commenced with a serene Hawan ceremony held in the school premises. The Hawan, a sacred ritual, symbolised the divine blessings and spiritual essence that have guided the school's growth over the years. The hawan ceremony was presided over by the Honourable Director, Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati. Students and teachers gathered to offer prayers and seek blessings for continued success and prosperity of the institution. Director Madam congratulated all Blue Bellians and encouraged them to strive for excellence in all spheres of life. The Principal , Dr. Trilok Singh Bist, thanked the visionaries and extended his best wishes to everyone on the warm occasion. The Head Boy and Head Girl of the school also expressed their emotions and gratitude towards their school.

 To foster a sense of involvement and creativity among the students, various activities like Speech Writing and Presentation, Poetry Composition and Presentation , and Slogan Writing were organised as part of the celebration. The students were encouraged to express their emotions, gratitude, and aspirations through creative writing and art activities, paying tribute to their alma mater.

 The level of participation and enthusiasm demonstrated by the students was remarkable. Their heartfelt involvement in these activities reflected their deep connection to the school and their understanding of the legacy they are a part of.

 All in all, the day was a blend of spirituality, creativity, and reflection. It reaffirmed the institution's commitment to providing holistic education and instilling values in its students. The celebration was a testimony to the rich heritage of the school and its relentless pursuit of excellence.

BLUE BELLIANS VISIT DEEG PALACE

Analyzing a monument from every possible aspect ,be it Science, Mathematics or Economics can guide students to engage in observation, decoding, and inquiry. It sparks curiosity and motivates for deeper learning. There is no denying the fact that monuments are created with a specific intent, but how this heritage communicates with the viewers varies just as much as the meaning that different people might apply to the object.

In the wake of the same,38 students and 5 teachers of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School visited Deeg Palace, with the intent to unfold the History and learn beyond the four walls of the classroom. It was a one-day trip and the students made the maximum of it.

The students were charmed to see that the design of the gardens in Deeg palace was inspired by the Mughal Charbagh. The palace forms a quadrangle with a garden and walkways at its center. Decorative flowerbeds, shrubs, trees, and fountains cool the place considerably during summer. Two huge water tanks, Gopal Sagar and Rup Sagar, on either side also help to bring down the temperature. It was great learning for the students that during that time, our ancestors had invented the better and more economical version of modern-day Air conditioners, and that too through nature’s way.

Our students noted it carefully that Keshav Bhawan, the monsoon pavilion, is a single-storeyed baradari placed on an octagonal base, which stands tall and strong next to the Rup Sagar tank. The edifice has five arches along each side which seem to divide it into parts. An arcade runs around the interior of the pavilion over a canal with hundreds of fountains. The walls of the canal are pierced with hundreds of minute water jets. In the olden days bullocks were employed with large leather "buckets" to draw water to the tank through a complex pulley system.

It goes without saying that the visit was quite fruitful and served its purpose to the fullest. The students understood the concept of research, its utility, and the fun of learning by doing, i.e., the very spirit of Experiential learning.

All in all, it was really a great learning experience for the students which was equally appreciated by the parents and the students.

ASSEMBLY ON COMPASSION

The students of Classes VI to VIII conducted a meaningful assembly on the topic COMPASSION. Compassion is about putting ourselves in other people’s shoes, thinking about how they are feeling, and trying our best to care for them. The students presented a self-composed poem in the assembly. A thought-provoking speech on the importance of Compassion was also delivered to the audience. The assembly was well planned with regular features like Prayer, Pledge, Chanting of Mantras, Thought, and News.

The Principal of the school, Dr. Trilok Sing Bist, addressed all the students and gave valuable moral teachings for life. Each word of his speech was a reflection of the experience and values of the school. Middle Wing Leader, Ms. Sunita Kaul appreciated the students for conducting such a well-organised assembly.

Trip to Sariska

‘Each step in nature provides us with the chance to explore its wonders.’ Educational expeditions allow the learners to delve into the beauty and complexities of nature, offering them both exploration and valuable learning experiences. In sync with this, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School organised an educational trip to Sariska National Park on October 12 & 13, 2023. A group of 63 students from Classes III-V, along with 6 teachers participated in it. On the way, the students visited Tijara Temple. The temple's architecture and intricate detailing alongwith electronically moving figures sparkled curiosity and admiration among the students. The highlight of the trip was the Jungle Safari. It was a thrilling drive through the forest, allowing the learners to witness the beauty and wonders of nature. The learners observed a wide range of plant species, from tall trees to herbs and shrubs, each playing a unique role in the ecosystem. They spotted a diverse array of animals including rabbit, deer, antelopes and nilgai as well as birds like kingfishers, parrots and peacocks. Watching baby crocodiles taking a sunbath along the banks of a serene water body was surely a fascinating spectacle for the learners. This firsthand experience allowed the learners to appreciate the significance of national parks in maintaining ecological balance. They saw how every plant and animal had a part to play, making them aware of the delicate harmony of nature. As the trip came to a close, the students returned with a treasure trove of memories and newfound knowledge. They attempted a reflection sheet and recorded their observations made during the trip.

World Mental Health Day 2023

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School Celebrates World Mental Health Day 2023 on October 10, 2023, on the theme 

‘Mental Health is a Universal Human Right’

Mental health is an integral part of overall wellbeing. Celebrating Mental Health Day highlights the interconnection of physical and mental well-being, promoting a holistic approach to health. World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year to raise awareness about  mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of it.

World Mental Health Day 2023 provided a chance for individuals and communities to ardently contribute to the theme, ‘Mental Health is a Universal Human Right,’ fostering understanding, awareness, and initiatives aimed at safeguarding and enhancing everyone’s mental well-being as an inherent human entitlement.

To sensitize the students on the importance of mental wellbeing, the school celebrated World Mental Health Day under the aegis of the Health & Wellness Programme spearheaded by Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS. Ma’am an avid advocate of the socio-emotional well-being of children. Under the inspirational leadership of Ma’am, the Health & Wellness Team organized activities tailored for the students of Middle and Senior Wing, aiming to raise awareness about the significance of mental well-being.

The Middle Wing students were thoroughly engrossed in ‘Creating Positive Self-Affirmation Badges for Mental Health Day to ‘Promote Self-Esteem And Mental Well-Being.’ Students were encouraged to think about phrases that made them feel confident and happy. They were asked to choose a positive self-affirmation personifying their unique qualities and put it on their badge.

For the Senior School students, a short video related to mental health was screened in the morning assembly followed by an informative address by Priyanshi Yadav, the Health & Wellness Ambassador and Goohika Joshi, Peer Mentor. In their talk, Priyanshi and Goohika focused on emotional well-being as a vital aspect of our overall health, and learning to swiftly move across and manage our emotions for our personal growth and success.

 Dr. Alka praised the dedication of both students and teachers for creating awareness and emphasizing the importance of sound mental health in maintaining our overall health. Ma’am encouraged all the members to be mindful of their mental health and acquire effective methods for overall growth. 

CULTURAL CLUB ASSEMBLY

Club activities at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School supplement academics and give the students practical training which they require in day-to-day life.

 A special assembly was conducted on October 13, 2023, by the students of Music and Dance Club. Music is known to have phenomenal benefits to the human brain. It acts as a stress buster and a stimulant to the children and encourages them to think out of the box. The melodious students of the Music Club presented a self-composed group song which left everyone mesmerised.

 To show the dancing skills of the students, the students of Dance Club presented two sets of Dances, Western and Classical. The students danced with grace and expressed themselves through their extremely impressive moves and actions. The performances kept the whole audience engaged. The dedication, discipline and focus of the children made the assembly very exciting and interesting.

 Ms. Suneeta Kaul, Middle Wing Leader appreciated the entire team of Music and Dance Club for such a wonderful assembly.
