INDIAN CONSTITUTION DAY CELEBRATION

In Sync with the same objective and along with the directives of CBSE, the school celebrated Indian Constitution Day to spread the importance of the Indian Constitution. The Indian Constitution was adopted on this very day in 1949, and came into force on January 26, 1950, which is celebrated as the Republic Day.
This year, the country is also celebrating the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar who is also known as the Father of the Indian Constitution. The Constitution Day will be a part of the year-long nationwide celebrations. Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is the Nodal Ministry for celebration of Constitution Day. Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has decided to illuminate Parliament House Complex on the occasion and have also decided to call for Special Session of Parliament for this purpose.
A Special Morning Assembly was organized on November 26, 2015,  to mark the importance of the day. The students presented a well orchestrated programme to bring alive the salient features of the Constitution of India. The Principal of the school asked the students to take a pledge and read out the Preamble of the country. The meaning of each and every word of the Preamble was explained to the students so that they can value the Constitution of India as a largest living document of the world and take pride in being an Indian.
 IMPORTANT  FACTS ON THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA :
• The Constitution was adopted on November 26, 1949, while it came into force on January 26, 1950.
• The Constitution of India was not typeset or printed but was handwritten and calligraphed in both English and Hindi.
• The original copies of the Constitution of India are kept in special helium-filled cases in the Library of the Parliament of India.
• Indian Constitution is known as a bag of borrowings.
• The concepts of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity were taken from the French constitution.
• The concept of five year plans was taken from the USSR.
• The Directive principles were taken from Ireland.
• The law on which the Supreme Court functions was taken from Japan.
• It is the longest written constitution of any independent country in the world.
• The Constitution of India contains 448 articles in 25 parts, 12 schedules, 5 appendices and 98 amendments.
• The Constituent Assembly had 284 members, out of which 15 were women.
• The draft was submitted in November 1949. After the submission, it took three more years to complete it.
• All the 284 members of the Constituent Assembly signed the documents on January 24, 1950.
• The constitution came into effect on January 26, 1950.
• The national emblem of India too was adopted on the same day.
• Indian constitution is known as one of the worlds best constitution especially since it has only seen 94 amendments.
 A poster–making competition was there for the students of classes VI-XII. The posters significantly illustrated the messages contained in the Preamble to the Indian Constitution. The best three entries of each class was chosen and displayed at strategic location in the school to sensitize and aware everyone about the importance of the day.
The celebration closed on a promising note when the worthy achievers were felicitated and everyone felt empowered about their own Constitution.

EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO AMUL FACTORY

“Excursions break the mundane routine and rejuvenate life with a new learning…”

An Educational Trip was organized for class II on   November 24, 2015.  The students visited the Amul Factory at Manesar where they saw the processing and packaging of milk and different milk products . They were explained the packaging of milk that it is done all through machines and how quality check is maintained.
The students were also shown the working of Assembly line.

Then they were taken to an AV room where a movie was shown to them telling about how and when this co-operative started. The video showcased that Dudhsagar Dairy  is a  proud  contributor in  making India , the largest milk producing nation in the world, and in this  process it empowers lakhs of cooperative dairy farmers of Mehsana and parts of Patan and Gandhinagar districts – socially, politically and economically.  Mr. Vipul Chaudhary is the  Chairman of  the organization  and  from the very beginning, it is  setting exemplary milestones towards women empowerment.

The students were served vanilla ice cream during the AV session. Later, they enjoyed having lunch in the lush green gardens of the Amul factory. They also enjoyed playing various games there. It was educational –cum- fun trip which empowered them tremendously.

To provide a real life connect with the experiential learning, the students will be given a worksheet based on their visit to note their findings and to record their memorable moments during the trip.

GURUNANAK JAYANTI CELEBRATION

“ Beyond speech is the glory of the Great One.
He is the Creator, mighty and benign.”

Faith is the light that guides through the darkness. There is a single power ruling this world i.e. God, He is the omnipotent, omniscient and the omnipresent force that guides us in all out ventures. To commemorate Guru Nanak Jayanti, Blue Bellians organized a special Morning Assembly on November 23 & 26, 2015 with utmost religiosity by the Primary Wing and Senior Wing respectively.  The birthday of Guru Nanak Dev ji , the founder of the Sikh religion was celebrated amidst plethora of cultural events, talk, hymns and prayers.
The  Special Assembly of Classes I and II commenced with the Gayatri Mantra, followed by prayer, pledge and  song by the Choir group. There after students recited the paath of “Pehali Pauri” of “Japji Sahib” and a shabad. To apprise the students with preachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji ,a Prabhashees of class II narrated a Sakhi from the childhood of Guru Nanakdev Ji. To keep up the spirit of celebration tabla recital was done by Vishwadeep of class II. To sensitize the students about Clean and Green India, a Nukkad Natak was presented by the students of class I and II. The Senior Wing students presented the Assembly bringing alive the noble ideas and vision of Gurunanak Dev ji in form of a Skit.
The Principal of the school wished all on behalf of the Management and Director of the school and asked the students to follow a righteous path by following the principles set by Gurunanak  Dev ji so that moral fabric of the society can be strengthened.

EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO HERITAGE TRANSPORT MUSEUM

“Field trips lay strong foundations for encouraging successful learning and building positive attitudes which subsequently lead to improvements not only in academics but also in achievement and motivation in all areas.”

The students of classes III and V were taken to heritage Transport museum, Bilaspur on November 21, 2015. The museum displayed different modes of transport which had historical significance. The models dated back to the 20th century. The students were thrilled to see the spectacular collection of the models. The whole display was artistically placed. Old convertibles, aircrafts used for training, boats, palkis and many more vehicles held everyone in awe.

The students of class IV were taken to Aeroplanet, Dwarka.

All the students enjoyed various activities and were thrilled to sit and experience in Economy class, Business Class and Private jet.

They enjoyed the trip to the fullest and shared their snacks with their peers. It was truly an enjoyable learning experience.

AN EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO GAUSHALA

“An excursion is learning full of joy and excitement. Its a life greatest adventure; its an illustrated learning into the minds of the noble and the learned .”

 An educational trip to Gaushala was organized for the students of Class UKG on November 20, 2015. The students were taken for a round of the Gaushala where they saw the cows and their calves; they also visited the veterinary hospital and saw how the injured and sick cows are taken care of . An entire process of preparing and storing fodder for the cows was also shown to the students and they enjoyed feeding the cows with green and dry fodder.

The students assembled in a park and shared their food and snacks with each other. They met the care taker of the Gaushala (Mr Samandar Singh Chauhan) who told them about the importance of cows and recited a rhyme which the students enjoyed a lot  .

It was a unique learning experience for all .

CAREER CONFLUENCE

CAREER PLANNING : A PRE-REQUISITE TO SUCCESS,
CAREER CONFLUENCE AT Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, SECTOR 10, GURGAON
We are all endowed with the unique gift of imagination with which we can create the world of our choice. Thus, the creative channelizing of the strengths with positive attitude will from the bedrock of students’ future. To  acquaint the students and parents  with the latest career options and avenues, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School organized Career Confluence on November 6, and November 7, 2015 for the students and parents resepctively. This is one of the proud endeavours of Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director ( Health & Wellness), BBGS.
The main objective of the Confluence was to apprise the students of the wide spectrum of career choices students can opt for after their Class XII. Eminent Speakers and Career Counsellors addressed the students and gave them a detailed account of various career choices they can make in accordance to their aptitude, interest and passion. The students of Class IX to XII attended various sessions wherein they got a deep insight on the options available to them.
Adding more information to the concept taught in the sessions, the students also visited stalls put up by various Institutes (Management, Fashion & Hotel Management) and Universities to understand the importance of the course and how to pursue admission in it.
Sharing their experience, the students told the teachers that they found it to be an informative and learning process where they came to know more about the career options available to them. They found the interactive Session with Mr. Jitin Chawla, one of the leading Career Counsellors very useful. They also noted the various websites from where they could get more information on different career options .
The main motive of the Parents’ Workshop was to help them to understand the various career options available so that they can  help their ward choose an option on his aptitude, interest and passion. The session was taken by Dr. Asha Nayyar, renowned Psychologist & Counsellor. Ma’am gave tips on Careers, Study Skills & Time Management, Personality Development & Effective Parenting.

There were two sessions one for the parents of Class IX & X students and the other for the parents of Class XI & XII students. The last part of the sessions was OPEN HOUSE where the parents were apprised of the new avenues and they were satisfied with the  appropriate information of the options available in this global scenario.

GENESIS- THE HEALTH & WELLNESS WEEK 2015

GENESIS- THE HEALTH & WELLNESS WEEK 2015
 Blue Bells Family believe that every child is potentially the light of the world. To hone and sharpen the life skills of the multi talented youngsters today, as well as to provide a platform where Gen Now can share and exchange their creative, critical and innovative ideas, the school hosted  Genesis- The Health & Wellness Week under the aegis of The Health & Wellness  Club –ZEAL on November 4 & November 5, 2015 for Classes VI-VIII and Classes  IX & X respectively. It is one of the unique initiatives of Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director ( Health and Wellness),BBGS,  who along with her team of school counselors and teachers has  devised the competitions and activities which would help the students to discover their inherent potential .
This event was a gateway of innovation, exploration and expression. It  provided a podium where the students were able to express their concerns, a platform on which they showcased their understanding of life skills creatively; a canvas in which they  painted their feelings, emotions and imaginations. The students of Class VI-VIII were involved in plethora of Competitions  like Poster Making, Critical Thinking Game & Talk Show  whereas the students of Class IX-X had put in their concerted effort in Ad Analysis , Street Play  and Debate on the themes Gender Equality, Coping with Stress, Peer Pressure, Managing Emotions, Cyber Crime, Substance Abuse, Anti Bulling, Impact of Media, Effective Communication, Environmental Safety
The unique feature of the all the activities was that it had been developed in house on various issues faced by young adolescents. The Opening Ceremony of the event  on November 4 , 2015 was graced by Dr. Rajan Gupta, Professor Behavioral Psychology, MDI, Gurgaon. The students of the school presented a colourful cultural extravaganza to mark the beginning of the Mega Event which was declared open by Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director ( Health & Wellness ), BBGS, who had whole heartedly contributed in guiding  the Health & Wellness Team to concretize this dream to a reality.
The Closing Ceremony  on November 5, 2015 was adorned by the gracious presence of Mr. Virender Singh , Chief Guest for the occasion and other dignitaries. The winners of various competitions of various competitions which were a part of Genesis 2015  were felicitated in the Valedictory Ceremony. The Ceremony was embellished with presentations of the students giving a panoramic view of Genesis as well as the Health & Wellness Education in school. The scintillating dance performance of the students on Women Empowerment left the audience spellbound. The Overall Winners Trophy was bagged by Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School and being the host school the trophy was passed to the First Runners Up Team of Blue Bells Model School.
The Chief Guest congratulated the winners as well as the team for a marvelous presentation. He emphasized on the importance of yoga in holistic development.
Speaking on the occasion the revered Dr. Alka Saxena blessed everyone present and congratulated the team for a wonderful presentation. She emphasized the value of life skills in the life of each and every individual and thanked all the parents  for sparing their valuable time and being a part of the festivity.

EMPEZAR: A BEGINNING, HEALTH & WELLNESS PROGRAMME

Creativity in children can be developed by engaging them in activities that enable them to share their ideas, thoughts and feelings.This can be achieved through teamwork that involves much interaction and exchanging of ideas and actions.Such activities are fundamental for supporting children’s cognitive growth and overall development and also encourage them to explore, discover, and explore again.
To bring out the inherent talents and cultivate the teamwork ethos into the students, the school hosted EMPEZAR: A BEGINNING, Health   & WELLNESS PROGRAMME, an Intra school Life Skills Fest for the students of Primary Wing on November 2, 2015. It is one of the unique initiatives taken    by Dr. Alka Saxena , Assistant Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools. The activities were designed and organized for the students of Classes III-V by the Health &  Wellness Team.

The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by offering prayers by Dr. Alka Saxena , Assistant Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools, Ms. Anjali Nagpal , Principal, Ms. ArpitaAcharya , Vice Principal, Mr. Suneeta Kaul, Middle Wing Incharge , Ms. Sushma Malhotra, Primary Wing Incharge along with the revered judges, school counselors and the students of Primary Wing.  A variety of activities and competitions were planned for the studentslike Critical thinking, Fun Races, Poster Making, Card Making and Bookmark Making. These activities focused mainly on Team Building, Creativity, Effective Communication, Decision Making, Kinesthetic and Spatial Skills and enabled the students to move from more intrapersonal ways of thinking to interpersonal and build confidence and self-esteem.

PEER EDUCATOR FACILIATION ON DENGUE

The past few years have seen dynamic changes in the educational system with the focus shifting from academic excellence to holistic development. Even neuroscientists and psychologists have introduced paradigm shift in their research from Left Brain Thinking and Right Brain Thinking to Whole Brain Thinking for Thinking cannot be confined within compartments when the aim is to help our children grow up as Wholesome Wholes. The aim of our new education system should therefore be to create entrepreneurs, innovators, artists, scientists, thinkers and writers who can establish the foundation of a knowledge-based society. We cannot be content with just being service-providers. On the contrary, we need to be fostering creativity, innovation and independent thinking in our children by being open to adopting a range of methodologies that may not be exactly new but are missing in our delivery systems.

In sync with the same, the Health & Wellness Team along with the Peer Educators under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena , Assistant Director ( Heatlh & Wellness), BBGS initiated the process of facilitation about Dengue to sensitize the students and teachers in the month of October 2015  . This was the First Task assigned to the Peer Educators and they showed a supreme sense of responsibility when they conducted sessions in the classes. The sessions taken  by them were interactive and got an overwhelming response from their peers as well as their teachers .

As Dengue is prevalent in the season so the Peer Educators from Classes VI  to XII were entrusted with the responsibility to creating  awareness in the school from Classes III to XII. The team members informed students about the symptoms, causes, and ways of transmission and prevention of Dengue. The Peer Educators prepared their sessions well based on the handouts given to them by the Health and Wellness Team.  They interacted with the students very effectively and quenched their curiosity regarding the disease. All the students were found to be very informative and educative and they were actively engaged during the discussion. The whole event was supervised by the member of the Health & Wellness Team .
Detailed information about the disease was also displayed at  strategic locations in the school as well as Health Advisory was uploaded on the school website so that each and every member of the school can be sensitized on the same.
    With the kind of response the students showed and the team received for the initiative , has led us to believe and feel motivated enough to keep up the good work. It also fortifies our commitment to churn individuals with a positive bent of mind in any given circumstances. Its just a drop which will make up the ocean generating Aware, informed and responsible citizens of the future.
