WORKSHOP ON MY ENERGY BALANCE

Lifestyle diseases characterize those diseases whose occurrence is primarily based on the daily habits of people and are a result of an inappropriate relationship of people with their environment. The main factors contributing to lifestyle diseases include bad food habits, physical inactivity, wrong body posture, and disturbed biological clock. A report, jointly prepared by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Economic Forum, says India will incur an accumulated loss of $236.6 billion by 2015 on account of unhealthy lifestyles and faulty diet. To create awareness on keeping healthy body and eating energy balanced diet , the Health and Wellness Programme  of the school under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director ( Health & Wellness
) , BBGS,  organized a workshop on “My Energy Balance” on December 29, 2015 for the students of classes VI-X. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Sunder Kumar and Mr. Ujjwal from Swahrit Society. Mr. Sunder spoke on different amount of energy levels required to do various types of metabolic activities. He cleared many misconceptions about dieting, weight management and informed students about smart eating guidelines. He updated students with new terms like BMR(Basal Metabolic Rate),TEF(Thermic Effect of Food),BMI(Body Mass Index) and FITT(Frequency Intensity Time Type).He further emphasized on how to balance energy level by being more active, by limiting time spent in front of T.V. and computer, by doing physical exercises and by minimizing intake of fatty food. The session was interactive and it became livelier when the students were asked to solve crossword puzzles. The students actively participated in Energy Level Relay to understand the concept of balancing energy. The session was informative and an enriching learning experience for all the students.

Human Rights

Students of class IV presented the morning assembly on Human Rights. The day started with school prayer, pledge followed by thought of the Day, news, two new English and Hindi vocabulary words and a talk on Human Rights. Thereafter there was a skit presentation by students of class IV-C in which  the main focus was on “ Right to Education”.
Assembly was graced by our revered Assistant Director ( Academics , Development and Innovation ) , Blue Bells Group of School  Ma’am Ms.Soumya Gulati . She gave away the prizes to the students for the Regularity and Punctuality Awards (Session 2014-15). She encouraged the students to take part in all the activities with full vigour and interest. School Principal Madam Anjali Nagpal and Primary Wing Incharge Madam Sushma Malhotra were also present at the occasion.   Finally there was a beautiful song presentation by students of Class IV-B. Overall it was a nice and informative session for the students.

AN EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO JAIPUR

Excursions and tours play an essential part in the holistic development of a child. Such tours provide valuable, interactive life-skill lessons for all ages in the atmosphere of fun. Strongly believing in this principle the Management of the school organized an educational cum recreational trip to Jaipur for students of classes XI & XII from December 27 to December 29, 2015.

The three days of stay at Jaipur were filled with the moments of fun and frolic accompanied by learning about rich Indian cultural heritage. The students visited “Albert Hall Museum” and “Birla Mandir ” and then went to “Chokhi Dhani: a Village Resort ” where they enjoyed cultural events and the food delicacies of Rajasthan. The students also visited Amer Fort . The highlights of the fort were the worlds largest cannon on wheels, Armory Section and the rain water harvesting System. The teachers explained the working of this system to the students and the method of purification of water used.

After visiting the fort, the group visited City Palace Museum which had three prominent sections namely, textile museum, arms museum and art museum. It gave an insight into the lives led by the rulers of Jaipur. Eager queries of the students were answered by the teachers and the guide at both the monuments. The students enjoyed the puppet show at the City Palace.

Before returning back to the hotel, the students went for souvenir shopping to Bapu Bazar . The students had hands on experience when they visited Handmade paper industry , blue pottery industry and block printing industry at Sanganer.

The students learnt about the rich culture of Rajasthan including its history, architecture , folk dances , cultural beliefs and handicraft. They learnt how handmade paper articles , blue pottery articles are made and how block printing is done. A few of them did block printing also. The tour was a great success. It was a truly enriching and unforgettable experience for all.

Christmas Celebration

Festivals are the occasion that gives us the reasons to celebrate our similarities without discriminating with respect to caste, creed, culture, religion, communities and language. Blue Bells incorporates in her students the cream of rich Indian culture and tradition keeping the door wide open for the best practices to pour in.  The birth of Lord Jesus Christ was celebrated with pomp and show on December 24, 2015 in the school, the entire school was soaked in the spirit of festivity and a special Assembly was organized to mark the occasion.
The Assembly was conducted by class VIII B .The students presented a well synchronized program to mark the occasion which included a talk  on the birth of Lord and significance of the festival, Carol singing, dance performance  .  Sunaiana Chabbra and Tanya Sharma presented their elf composed poems on Organ Donation which help them won the Special Appreciation Award at the World Hepatitis Day. The Assembly closed on a happy note with a wish that May God Almighty showers his choicest blessings on Blue Bellians now and forever. On behalf of the Director and Management, the Principal of the school wished everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and asked all the students to be true messengers of peace and harmony so that world can become a better place to live. .

INDIA WEEK ACTIVITY

INDIA WEEK Pre- Primary - V
The school had organized India Week with the theme “Incredible India” for the students from January 18 to January 23, 2016 .The week was declared open by the school principal Ms. Anjali Nagpal. Two workshops and several activities were conducted as a part of this endeavour. A week-long Book Fair was organized for the children.
*A finger printing activity  “Proud To Be An Indian” was conducted for Class I on 18th  Jan , 2016
*An Art Workshop on “Cartooning and Doodling” was conducted for the students of Classes III –V  by eminent artist Mr. Ajit Narain on Tuesday 19th Jan, 2016 .He taught them the art of drawing cartoons using different shapes and show expressions using various angles.
* A literary workshop  “The Joys Of Reading Aloud” was conducted for the parents of Class UKG  by Ms. Sree Rupa to encourage Story Reading sessions to their children and aim at spending quality time with them on 20th Jan, 2016.
* “Match The Monuments With Their City”  and  a “Multiple Choice Quiz” Activities were conducted for Class II & III on 21st Jan, 2016
* Word Search Activity was conducted on “Cities & Rivers Of India” was conducted for Class IV on 22nd Jan, 2016.
* “I Am Proud To Be An Indian” , a slogan writing activity was conducted for Class V on 22nd Jan , 2016.
Children enjoyed being part of the event and it was a great learning experience for them .

A DAY OF ADVENTURE AT CAMP FARMSTEAD

Travelling encompasses a whole new world in front of us. It helps to rejuvenate us from the mundane routine life and activate our mind and body with fresh energy. The students of class VI to XI were taken for a recreational adventure one day tour to Camp Farmstead, Gurgaon by Rocksports on December 18, 2015 .

 Around 479 students and twenty two teachers started for this enjoyable journey in the morning. The school members reached the place around 11.00 a.m.  and thereafter after the formal registration and banding the students were engrossed in the different adventure activities. The child in them was elated as their teachers were also there to feel this extreme happiness and rejuvenation while moving from one adventure sport to another.
 
The school members were given a sumptuous lunch by the organizers. The most wonderful part of the day was when the students and teachers rejoiced themselves on the foot tapping music. The school team then returned back to school after a day of fun, happiness, joy that was reverberating on their glowing faces.

Ganit Week

“Mathematics is the unshaken foundation of Sciences, and the plentiful fountain of advantage to human affairs. Pure Mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas.”

The main goal of mathematics education in schools is the mathematisation of the child’s thinking. Clarity of thought and pursuing assumptions to logical conclusions is central to the mathematical enterprise. There are many ways of thinking, and the kind of thinking one learns in mathematics is an ability to handle abstractions, and an approach to problem solving. The school celebrated GANIT  (Growing Aptitude in Numerical Innovations and Training) WEEK  as per the  directive of CBSE from December16 to December 24, 2015. Diverse activities were designed by the Mathematics Faculty members for the students so that the hidden potential hibernating in them gets a platform along with honing their mathematical and computing skills. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activities and found it an enriching experience. The day wise activity schedule was religiously followed by the students and they felt exhilarated after completing their projects as it gave vent to their creative skills with the effective blending of Mathematics.
As a part of GANIT Week Celebration, the school hosted Intra School Maths Competition – Math-E-Magician on December 23, 2015 in collaboration with NIIT. The main objective was to bring in a fun element and excitement in learning Mathematics with creativity. The students were exposed to the latest tools in Math Practical and were encouraged to implement the philosophy of imagine, investigate and interact. There were four rounds of Quiz where the students not only worked on practical methods but also had to use their theoretical knowledge concepts.
The befitting close to the GANIT Week on December 24, 2015 , witnessed interesting and invigorating workshop on Abacus and Vedic Maths by AVAS Group for the students of Classes I-VIII.  The students of the school presented a crisp cultural program weaving everything around the core theme of Mathematics. They showed the importance of Mathematics in day to day life. The cherry on the cake was the dance presentation by the students showing how numbers and symbols are essential for calculation. To mark the completion of the fruitful week, Maths Exhibition was organized where all the projects and creative assignments prepared by the students during the week were put for display.

TRIP TO INDIA GATE AND CHILDREN PARK

The students of class I visited the India Gate and Childrens Park on  December 5 , 2015. The magnificent monument garnered special mention from the students as they looked up to see how remarkably high it was! The teachers informed the little ones about the historical importance of this war memorial that was designed by Edwin Lutyens in memory of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the First World War.
The students were then made to sit comfortably in the garden adjacent to India Gate where lunch boxes flipped open for some quick bites and munchies. This was the excellent way to inculcate team spirit and sharing among the toddlers .
The students were delighted to see the huge Childrens Park. They enjoyed a lot on the swings on a  nice and sunny day. The excitement of the students was evident as they boarded the buses and discussed at length about this enriching day .

WORLD AIDS DAY

“The greatest gift of human life is to have humane characteristics.”
World AIDS Day is celebrated all across the world to sensitize the people about the needs and desires of the people who are affected by the deadly Human Immune Virus. To create awareness about the day, a special Morning Assembly was organized in the school on December 4, 2015. The students presented the facts and myths about the disease and how the society needs to be empathetic towards the affected people. A Signature Campaign was organized to mark the importance of the day where the students wrote slogans on ‘How to create a loving atmosphere’. The commencement of the campaign was done by the Principal, Vice Principal and Middle Wing Incharge Ma’am . The students and the teaching fraternity also poured in their emotions to create aware, empowered and empathetic atmosphere where everyone is bonded with a golden string of love.

IRC ZONAL WEST ZONE COMPETITION

Education is a powerful tool to build on a society which is ethically and aesthetically sound.  The 21st Century is all about the management of all knowledge and information we have generated and the value addition that we can bring to it. The students must be trained aptly to find out a way through the sea of knowledge that we have created and continue with lifelong learning. To provide an environment for the holistic development of the students, the school encourages participation in varied events which provide a unique platform to unearth the hidden talents hibernating in them.

Robotics has become a burgeoning science that has spread to every part of the globe. Robots have found a place in almost every sphere including toys and entertainment, military weapons, as search and rescue assistants, in medical science and many more.
The success story of Blue Bellians at IRC Open League 2015 in Seattle, USA, is a benchmark that everyone looks up to. The students of the Robotics Club kept the rich legacy alive by winning all the major positions when they competed in the IRC ZONAL WEST ZONE COMPETITION at Bal Bharti Public School, Dwarka on November 27, 2015 . In the Senior Level   , all the three positions were bagged by the school teams- Team Bonzai , Fabulous Four  and  Ked Robotic Group. In the Middle Level     , First Prize was clichéd by Team NATA Robotic Engineers and in the Junior Level  , the Third Prize was won by  Team Super Players. The students have now qualified for the next level.
The Management, Director & Assistant Director IT congratulated the school’s Robotics team for this achievement.
