ASTRONOMY CLUB NIGHT CAMP

Each and every day of life is filled with a unique experience that makes our existence worth. Human life incorporates learning, we learn from our surroundings and environment and this enriching phase makes us a wholesome personality. To sensitize the students about the thrill and  excitement of learning about the night sky , the students of the Astronomy Club left for Astronomy Club (MODULE- 1) Night out Session at Camp Mustang, Village Tikli, Badshahpur. The Camp was organized by ZLIFE in association with Astronomy Club on February 12 and 13, 2016.

The school was teamed up with Summer Field, New Delhi. The students were divided into various teams: TEAM – Columbia & TEAM – Apollo (For BBPS, Gurgaon). Some adventure activities like Burma Bridge, Rock Climbing, Trampoline, etc were enjoyed by the students.

The main Session started at 8:00 pm, in which the Faculty from Z - Life shared the information about the Universe. They taught the students how to read and understand ‘PLANISHHERE’, also there were some tasks in which the students were first supposed to solve some brain teasers related to Astronomy & Universe and then make a solar system on their own using various coloured balls (pictures attached). Team Columbia (from BBPS) won the task. Later we were shown the planet ‘Jupiter’ – along with its four moons and also the Orion Nebula through the telescope.

The students relished not only the activities but also the services being provided by the camp authorities. Everyone became nostalgic on the closing day of the tour as no one wanted to move out of these fun filled, energetic & rejuvenated days.  It was a mesmerizing and energizing experience for all the members.

Prize Distribution EMPEZAR

A special assembly presented by the Hindi Club was conducted by the students of Primary Wing on the event of prize distribution ceremony on February 9, 2016 to give away the awards to the winners and participants of “EMPEZAR”- A Beginning, Health & Wellness and Value Education Programme.
The Prize Distribution ceremony began with prayer and pledge, followed by ‘suvichaar’. Students presented a melodious devotional song ‘Sukh ke sab saathi’ which was appreciated by one and all. To educate the students about the human rights, a skit was presented by the students of class IV. The skit conveyed the message of childrens’ right to education.
Our revered Astt Director (Health, Wellness & Value Education), Blue Bells Group of Schools Dr. Alka Saxena, gave away the awards to the students. Principal Ma’am Ms Anjali Nagpal, Primary Wing Incharge Ms Sushma Malhotra, In-house Counsellors Ms Renu Khare and Ms. Shreya Kumar were also present on the event. Students who had won laurels in various inter school competitions were also awarded.
The Prize Distribution ceremony concluded with the Nukkad Natak presented by the students of Hindi Club on controlling pollution and banning the use of poly bags.

MI CAMP HONING INHERENT POTENTIAL

"Anything that is worth teaching can be presented in many different ways. These multiple ways can make use of our multiple intelligences."

To involve students in identifying their multiple intelligences and  give them meaningful and enjoyable exposures to discover their own strengths and become confident, a “Multiple Intelligence Camp” on the theme -“My strong intelligences – my pathways of success” for the Primary Wing of the school was organized on February 5 and 6, 2016  in collaboration with Primary Plus.

The students of Classes UKG to Class V were involved in plethora of activities based on multiple intelligences which  ranged from  creating art, stories, science projects, loads of social and team project work, body movement and skills, and effective communicative language to express and explore ideas and thoughts.

While Kinesthetic Skills were developed through “Flying Fox” and “Zorbing Ball” and  “Bootcamp” helped them to exercise with rhythm, “Crazy Science”, “Fizzy Science” and “Augmented Reality Zone”, helped to develop their cognitive skills. “Chasing Time” made the students understand time management and “3 Doodler” focused on their artistic talents. “Crazy Science”, “Fizzy Science” and “Augmented Flip Book”, helped to develop the cognitive skills in the students of Classes I and II  and “Spin art” focused on their artistic talents.

The activities based on eight multiple intelligences ensured that each child got exposed all intelligences, gained confidence in interacting with people, in thinking and expressing, thus enjoying while having fun and specially learning in a different way.

AU REVOIR FAREWELL & GOOD LUCK PARTY

Memories are the best way of holding on to the past while absorbing the future. AU REVOIR – Farewell & Good Luck Party was organized by Class XI students to wish Class XII for a wonderful performance in the Board Examination on January 30, 2016. The Farewell was embedded with different cultural programmes like Tilak Ceremony, Welcome Dance, Song and games and tags by the students of class XI, hosts for the occasion. The highlight of the Celebration was the Fashion Show for Class XII where they participated with utmost enthusiasm. Class XII students  walked confidently on the ramp and answered the questions of the judges. Mr. Well- Dressed & Ms. Well Dressed were Lakswinder Singh and Sanya Godiyal , Mr. Talented and Ms. Talented  were Varun Yadav and Malvika Tandon and  Mr. Blue Bells & Ms. Blue Bells were Laqshay Mudgil and  Mahima Malik  respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Madam blessed the students.  She expressed her good wishes to the students to come out with flying colors and glitter like gems throughout their lives. The students were wished with all the luck in their forthcoming Board Examination and asked  to put in their best efforts to register magnificent success and carry forward the rich legacy of Blue Bells to march forward as positive individuals.  Ma’am congratulated the students on their presentation and effort in preparing for the farewell.  The Vice Principal and the teachers bestowed their blessings on the students and wished them splendid success in the Examination with their ardent planning and resolute focus. It was a fun filled but nostalgic evening for all the members.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

India is a land of diversity yet a land of unity, love and brotherhood. The turbulent history of subjugation of the country by the Britishers did not dampen the spirit of mighty Indians. They fought courageously and relentlessly and finally freed the country from the clutches of British Imperialistic rule. To reinforce the love for freedom, 67th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic favour and enthusiasm in the school on January 25, 2016.
The programme commenced with the unfurling of the National tricolor by the Chief Guest , Shri. Ashish Gulati, Honourable Vice Chairman, Blue Bells Group of Schools, along with the ceremonial March past orchestrated by the playing of the bugle and the beating of the drums.  The spirit of patriotism was kept alive through a scintillating cultural programme where the students of classes III to X earnestly participated. All the presentations rekindled the feelings of love and emotional bandage with the motherland in the august gathering. The students presented a spectacular scintillating cultural programme on the theme – INDIA: A MOSAIC, where there was perfect blend of speech, poem, sports activities and presentation that depicted the struggle for India post independence and the journey of the nation into a superior surging arena. The students of Balika Manch presented a thought provoking street play highlighting the significant role of women in the growth of the country.
The Closing Ceremony of the Annual Sports Day was one of the significant features of the day. The results of the Sports Events were announced and the Final Races of different categories were conducted on the day. On this day Prizes for the Annual Sports Meet were given by our esteemed Chief Guest .The Prizes of the Special Categories were also given to the worthy students by the revered Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman Sir   enlightened everyone about their responsibilities and duties towards their motherland.  Sir wished students to value the hard earned freedom and work as a single unit to take India to the path of glory and fame. It was mesmerizing experience for everyone present.

INDIA WEEK

India is a word consists of five latter where I stands for In-heritage, N stands for Nationalism, D stands for diversity, i stands for incompatible power and A stands for Assert.

India is known for diversity in region, languages, food, clothes, festival, states and everything which uniquely represents country and its people. India is a Republic country which is for the people, by the people and from the people. People rule its county, people choose their own leader, and people are independent of doing anything.

Every state in India has its incredible beauty of heritage . North region consist of Himalayas, Kashmir which is heaven of India. The 7 Sisters and Sikkim also belong to north region. They have their own religion temples. This place belongs to Lord Buddha and its temple. East region is known for Bengali places and rivers. Middle region consists of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh which is mainly known as land of Krishna, land of ram, land of love-Taj Mahal, land of colour, monuments and heritage.  Punjab is a state known for king of farms. The western part is unique due to Arabian Sea and Deserts, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra are three most mesmerizing places. Gujarat is state where lions reside in Gir, Rajasthan is a place of kings, fighters, and real heritage. It is also known as desert. Maharashtra is known as land of God. South region is known for its cultural festivals, languages and foods. People are religious and believe in God. It is also known as land of nawabs.

India is a melting pot of all cultures. It is a divine music of the Almighty that has the strength to assimilate the best practices in the world to emerge as a unique nation where we have a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. In order to sensitize the students about their motherland, the school organized INDIA WEEK in collaboration with Scholastic India Ltd.  to provide a platform to the students  to share their dreams for the nation, to develop the spirit of connectivity with the nation ,  to instill and strengthen the spirit of nationalism amongst them  and also  consolidate their dreams  into building a workable vision for the future on January 21, 2016.
The entire school was a buzz of patriotic fervor where students painted their thoughts and ideas in form of poster, Slogan and Essay Writing and religiously performed the Activity as per the given schedule.

The students prepared thought provoking and encouraging posters and slogans which clearly indicated their steadfast vision to take their nation into the unprecedented path of glory. The marvelous ideas of students filled the heart with pride. The essence of this activity is beautifully summed up by  our  former President Dr Abdul Kalam  in his  book- India 2020- A vision for the New Millenium that "Nations are built by the imagination and untiring enthusiastic efforts of generations. One generation transfers the fruits of its toil to another which then take forward the mission. As the coming generation also has its dreams and aspirations for the nations future, it therefore adds something from its side to the national vision; which the next generation strives hard to achieve This process goes on and the nation climbs steps of glory and gains higher strengths."

Car Free Day

Environment in the literal sense means our surroundings.  There is a close relationship between human beings and the environment.  Any disturbance or degradation of environment will affect the life of human beings and can create a number of problems.  The Blue Bellians uphold the vision of ‘Clean Earth, Green Earth’ and religiously follow the principle of 3 R’s – Reduce , Recycle and Reuse. In sync with the same objective, the Management of the school decided to declare Wednesdays as CAR FREE DAYS and this initiative began on January 20, 2016. The motive of this venture was to ensure that the children get a better quality of air to breathe and  an attempt to reduce the pollution level and traffic congestion in the city. The members of the school worked in cohesion to urge the parents and teachers to car pool or use the school transport. This motive was exemplified by the Principal, Vice Principal, In charges and teachers who reached the school early in the morning riding bicycle. Dr. Suman Gulati, Director of Blue Bells Group of Schools and Ms. Anjali Nagpal , Principal of the school congratulated all the  members for their ardent efforts to judiciously use and conserve the resources.

INTERHOUSE DEVOTIONAL SONG COMPETITION FOR CLASSES III-V

“Where there is devotional music, God with his grace is always present.”

Devotional singing originates in the heart. It is the expression of joy and  thrill that wells up from the heart when the Glory of God is remembered. To promote creative and aesthetic experiences in the students, an Inter house Devotional Song competition was organized on January 20, 2016.

The whole atmosphere was charged with positive vibrations. Each House gave their best while performing. Every song sung by the students conveyed the message that God, the Divine power, is everywhere at all times, and we must derive strength, comfort, and joy by singing His glory in His presence.

Junior wing Incharge Ma’am Tripat Kalsi, Ms Laxmi Hariharan  and Ms Swarnkanta presided as judges for the event. They appreciated the wholehearted efforts of the students and their wonderful performance. Principal , Ms Anjali Nagpal and Primary Wing Incharge, Ms. Sushma Malhotra addressed the students.

Distress to De-Stress

Distress to De-Stress: Module on Handling Examination Stress
As the exams are approaching, the students are getting anxious, nervous and tensed. To address these feelings and tell them ways in which they can manage these feeling and handle stress; Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director (Health and Wellness) BBGS and the team of counselors prepared an interactive module for the students of classes VI to XII in the month of January 18 , 2016  to February 9, 2016.
These sessions included a variety of techniques to identify and deal with stress related to some internal and external factors of stress that the students face with regard to exams.
A recap of procrastination was done with the students, where they shared that most of them do it without realizing and later regret the time that was wasted. They shared their own time wasters, like: facebook, TV, talking on the phone, being lazy, not planning well, etc. They were very attentive when tips for improving productivity were shared with them and found those tips useful.
The students understood the 3 learning styles that were shared with them, which were: word smart, picture smart and number smart. They were encouraged to identify their own learning styles and incorporate that in their revision plan. Some techniques of learning better were also shared with them, like: highlighting, using mnemonics, making pictures to understand concepts, etc. The students were also shared the importance of time management and healthy lifestyle and how that can improve their productivity if they follow good sleeping and eating habits.
The students were very enthusiastic to learn and try the concentration technique. Most of them did it very seriously. Right after the concentration exercise, the counselors conducted a relaxation exercise and guided imagery with them. After they opened their eyes, most of them looked very relaxed. When asked how they felt, they said that they felt very calm, peaceful, relaxed.

SPRINTING ARCHIVES 2016- ANNUAL SPORTS MEET

 
“Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.”
Sports give life structure, discipline, and a pure fulfillment that few other areas of endeavor provide.  What counts in sports is not the victory but the struggle against overwhelming odds to prove your mettle. History is replete with examples galore which prove that success only smiles only on those who are prepared to challenge thy own self and have the courage and conviction of a leader. Continuing with the journey of honing young marvels in the sporting arena, Annual Sports Meet was organized in the school from January 11 to January 22, 2016 for Class Nursery to XI.  Different individual and team games were organized for the students in which they enthusiastically participated.
The Closing Ceremony of the Sports Meet was held on January 25, 2016.  The celebration was graced by the distinguished presence  of Shri Ashish Gulati, Vice Chairman, Blue Bells Group of Schools. The students presented well orchestrated cultural program emphasizing on the need of the physical fitness.  Inter House Flat Race and Relay Races and Class VIII- Flat Race and Class X(Boys- Relay)  categories were held to mark the closing of the Athletic Event  .
The Overall Winners Trophy was bagged by Radhakrishnan House and Runners Up Trophy was clinched by K.C.  House.
The Management, Director and Principal of the school congratulated the students for a wonderful show and wished them to continue the good work of maintaining a sound physical health.
