BRAIN-O-VITA CLUB ASSEMBLY

BRAIN-O-VITA CLUB conducted a special assembly on March 18, 2016 to showcase the kaleidoscopic view of the activities done by the club during the academic session. The assembly aimed at presenting a range of activities that the students were involved in throughout the year in the Club.

The assembly began with a speech on space followed by a short video on Scot Kelly and his team who landed in Kazakhstan after his year long mission. The main feature of this assembly was the Inter House Quiz Competition that consisted of four rounds. The topics covered were monuments, dances and famous personalities of India including the audio and visual rounds. C V Raman House was the winner followed by Radha Krishnan House, Sarojini Naidu House and Kalpana Chawla House.

TRANSITION WORKSHOP FOR CLASS V

The essence of education lies in giving the youth right direction so that they reach out to the new horizons. Keeping with the changing educational and social scenario it has become pertinent to help our children to face the challenges lying ahead in life in a positive and constructive manner. In sync with the same objective, the Health and Wellness Team of the school organized an Orientation Session for the students of Class V on March 15, 2016, under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools.
The main aim of this session was to familiarize the students with the teachers, system and the assessment system followed in Class VI. The session was addressed by Dr. Alka Saxena and was attended by Principal, Middle Wing Incharge,  Counsellors and teachers along with the  students of Class V.  The session began with a warm welcome to the students. After this the students were asked to share their feelings and concerns. Their responses included feelings like nervousness, excitement and fear, etc. The students shared that they were worried about shuffling of classes, new subjects and new teachers etc. The students were then introduced to the subject teachers of Class VI, which also made them feel comfortable. They were briefed about the rules and CCE Assessment. A crisp description about the Formative Assessment and Summative Assessment was given.
Last phase of the Session was an OPEN HOUSE where the students cleared all their doubts with the School team. Dr. Alka Saxena assured the students that all their concerns and apprehensions are of prime concern and would be taken care. The school team promised to extend all support to them in this phase of transition. It was a learning experience for all.

STRENGTHENING PARENT SCHOOL INTERFACE: ORIENTATION PROGRAM

“Tell me and I will forget, Show me, and I may not remember . Involve me , and Ill understand.”
The school considers parents to be the greatest resource and value partners in providing holistic education to the students. To acquaint the parents about the teaching methodology, psycho-pedagogy and working methodology of the school, an Orientation Program was organized on March 12, 2015 for the new parent members of the Pre-Primary Wing.  The Program began on an auspicious note by evoking the blessing of the Almighty with the ceremonial lighting of Diya.
The faculty members apprised the parents about the concept of Integrated Teaching Methodology and highlighted it with the help of video clippings. General guidelines were also given to the parents regarding the Homework, Family projects, and Time management, Moral Values, PTMs and Evaluation System. The unique initiatives  of the school were brought into the notice like Edusports, DEAR period, Thots, Circle Time, Life Skills,  Computer Education and Health and Nutrition. Parents were also told about the different facilities available in our school like the Uniform and Stationery Counter and Transport facility.
Under the initiative and guidance of Madam Soumya Gulati , Assistant Director (Academic Development & Innovation), BBGS has come up with  the Learning  Space- The Learning & Development Centre  . The parents were acquainted with the varied workshops and Gallery Walks which were organized in house along with the pedagogy adopted by the school to bring in innovative practices to enhance the teaching learning process. Back to School Series is an innovative initiative wherein real class room situations are created to apprise the parents about Teaching-Learning processes. The parents were highly appreciative of the Live Class Room created by the L & D Team to show the Theme Progression in Classes Nursery & LKG.
The Health & Wellness Programme of the school spearheaded by Dr. Alka Saxena Assistant Director ( Health & Wellness), BBGS  ardently  focuses on how to prepare a child for Nursery  and school life so that he/ she  is physically  and emotionally empowered along with strengthening the belief that SCHOOL IS A SAFE & SECURED PLACE. The school Counsellor briefed the parents about the need to develop Childs emotional vocabulary so that the child can understand the emotions and feelings.  The parents were also apprised about nurturing core Life Skills in the students so that they have the abilities for adaptive and positive behavior which are pertinently required to deal with challenges of life. To sensitize everyone on the role of self-awareness and understanding emotions,  the exemplary display by the Health & Wellness Team was showcased in form of the  ISLAND  OF EMOTIONS. This display of emotions   beautifully brought alive the importance of nurturing core Life Skills in the students to combat the challenges of life  and was highly lauded by all the parents.
 The parents were also  apprised of extended facilities provided by the school like :  I-cards, SMS and  E-Mail , etc. The school urged the parents to actively participate in the Teaching-Learning discourse and be exemplary in their conduct and behavior.

CHRYSALIS DAY

“Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”
The education system designed in the school is CHILD CENTRIC which caters to the development of the Whole Child and enables the young learner to develop essential skills for a bright future and helps him think in different ways to enhance his cognitive and psychomotor skills.
The Annual feature of Intra School Event-EZ Vidyas Chrysalis Day, THINKROOMS was organized by the school on March 10 & 11, 2016. This competition provided a platform to the students to showcase their expertise in information technology with the perfect blend of core life skills which are a part of their healthy growing. The students of Classes I to V participated in the event with utmost zest and zeal by innovatively transforming their classrooms to Think rooms.  The events on both these days were adjudged by renowned faculty members of Blue Bells Group of Schools and experts from EZ Vidya.
The Programme was formally inaugurated on March 10, 2016. In  the Closing Ceremony of the Programme,  the students presented a well synchronized cultural extravaganza with a perfect blend of symphony -a wonderful musical presentation and the scintillating dance presentation that left everyone gasping for more. A kaleidoscopic view of the activities done during the Chrysalis Day was given by the students in form a Power Point Presentation. The achievers were felicitated by revered Guest for the occasion Mrs. Anshuka Aneja, Assistant Director IT, Blue Bells Group of Schools. 
Speaking on the occasion Ms. Anshuka Aneja congratulated the students for showcasing their tech skills with an utmost level of perfection. Maam expressed her happiness to see the young netizens understanding the theme perfectly. Maam aspired to see these young Blue Bellians flying high in the sky with a  perfect blend of knowledge and values.

HOME SCIENCE CLUB PRESENTATION

HOME SCIENCE  Club conducted its special assembly on March 9, 2016. The assembly presented  a range of activities that the students were involved in throughout the year.

The students shared their views on Home Science as their chosen club. Some students gave important tips and explained the basic rules of table manners while others spoke about useful home remedies and suggestions on healthy food.

Home Science teaches the children to face difficult situations and how effectively these can be taken care of. This was very aptly depicted through a small skit presented by some students. The display of tasty food items prepared by the students of the club was one of the interesting features of the assembly.

INCREDIBLE INDIA CELEBRATION

SALUTING UNITY IN DIVERSITY: INCREDIBLE INDIA CELEBRATION
AT Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, SECTOR 10, GURGAON

 India is a melting pot of all cultures. It is a divine music of the Almighty that has the strength to assimilate the best practices in the world to emerge as a unique nation where we have a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. The mystic aura of India and the enigma that she is has captured the imagination and fancy of great minds. In sync with the mission to root the young Blue Bellians to the rich Indian Heritage, the school  proudly hosted  a Cultural Extravaganza  for the students of Classes I and II on the theme- Incredible India, a spectrum of Indian folk culture , a symbolic representation of Indian Spirit and a manifestation of human soul on February 26, 2016.
The occasion was embellished with the gracious presence of Mr. Ashish Gulati, Vice Chairman , BBGS .
The social customs and traditions which the Indians observe irrespective of caste, race and creed in all parts of the country contain within them a sense of Unity. Following the different tradition and culture which diverse societies in India have developed, there lies a sense of unity which keeps the people of India bonded together. This thought was beautifully depicted by the young Blue Bellians who showcased the spirit of human mind when it formulates the idea and ardently works to accomplish it.
Under the initiative and guidance of Madam Soumya Gulati, Assistant Director ( Academic Development and Innovations),BBGS ,  the  Gallery Walk showcasing the learning progression of Classes I and II on the theme-‘ Travel & Talk’ was the highlight of the programme.
The pavilions of different states of India added to the Celebration, inculcated patriotic fervor  and personified the essence of the theme- ‘Atulya Bharat ‘ which mesmerized the audience along with the scintillating presentation on folk dances of India .
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ashish Gulati, Vice Chairman, BBGS, congratulated the students for the marvelous presentation and wished all the Blue Bellians to be the custodians of rich Indian Culture. Sir thanked all the parents for sparing their valuable time and being a part of the festivity.

ENGLISH EXPRESSIONS CLUB ASSEMBLY

“Language is a mirror of life.”

Language is the medium through which we communicate our ideas, beliefs and emotions. It also forms bonds and allows teamwork and helps us to learn about other people and their cultures. English being an international language, is considered as the window to the world.
To enlighten about this fascinating language and its importance in the lives today, the students of the English –Expressions Club (Classes III-V) presented their Club activities through a special assembly on February 17, 2016. The assembly began with prayer and pledge followed by thought for the day, news headlines and vocabulary words.
Some interesting and amazing facts were revealed about the language which is the global language for communication. The students spoke about a sentence in which all the letters in the alphabet are used. Useful tips were given on pronunciation of long and difficult words.
The assembly concluded with a poem wishing people happiness which is an essence of life on earth.  

Educational Field Trip

Educational trips and excursions play an essential role in the holistic development of a child. They give an opportunity to the students to create a bond with their peers and have a range of new experiences outside the classroom.

The school organized a trip for Class II to Rajghat and Indraprastha Park , Delhi on February 13, 2016.  The students were taken to  Rajghat where they  paid homage to the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi ,  at his samadhi. Several other samadhis of other famous leaders were in the vicinity of Raj Ghat on the banks of the Yamuna. Jawaharlal Nehrus Samadhi lies to the north of the Raj Ghat, known as the Shanti vana which has a beautiful park adorned with trees. Sanjay Gandhis samadhi is adjacent to it. The students were told about these iconic leaders who shaped up the future of India.

The students were taken to   Millenium Indraprastha Park.  A large World Peace Stupa was an amazing architecture for students. The students had their lunch and refreshments provided by school. The visit to this park encouraged students to explore the natural surroundings develop love for the nature.

This trip helped students to gain useful and knowledgeable experience. Indeed it was a "GYAN YATRA" for students. The students also attempted a worksheet based on their visit. In the worksheet, they mentioned the landmarks that they observed on their way, the traffic signals that they noticed, the activities they performed and their learning. They tiny tots continued the "Swaach Bharat" Abhiyaan during their trip by collecting empty wrappers and empty frooti cans in a carton in their bus itself.

EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIP

“Field trips fall into the theory of experiential education because they can help students have an increased ability to apply and practice what they learn.”
The school organized an interesting and informative trip for students of class I, on 12 February 2016 to Aravalli Biodiversity Park-located on the South Central Ridge, Delhi
The weather was nice and sunny. The students were familiarized with  many new trees and they also  learnt  about the world of the dry, rocky Aravali forest habitat, of one of the oldest fold mountains in the world!
With its unique and beautiful undulating landscape which harbors Aravalis natural heritage, it is truly a paradise for nature love. The students thoroughly enjoyed the nature trails passing through the dense recreated forest communities, grasslands and water bodies. This educational tour brought awareness among the students on the importance of plants
Later, the students were  made to sit comfortably in the garden where Light snacks were provided to them.  The students were delighted to see the huge Bio diversity park. It was indeed an enjoyable outing for the students which gave them an insight of the beauty of nature.

Basant Panchami Celebration

“ Faith is the light that guides you and motivates you in the right direction.”

Enlightenment is the journey that starts from the head to the heart, from ignorance to radiance of knowledge.  Education is the gateway for achieving success in life. To invoke the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, Goddess of knowledge , art, learning and wisdom, Basant Panchami was celebrated with utmost fervor on  February 12,  2015.  The occasion was marked by a special Morning Assembly embedded with prayers, hymns and offerings to the Goddess Saraswati.   The choir group presented a prayer with an urge –“Oh Mother Saraswati remove the ignorance of our mind and bless us with the eternal knowledge. “ Maa Saraswati was worshipped with utmost dedication, enthusiasm and a new sense of optimism .

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Madam wished all the students and aspired to see all the Blue Bellians moving with commitment and conviction by ccomplishing  all  set goals.
