LABOUR DAY CELEBRATION

"God give me work, till my life shall end
And life till my work is done."

The success of any nation depends on the quality of labour and how they work as a single unit to beckon the economy of the nation.  To pay a token of reverence to the dignity of the work, Labour Day was celebrated in the school on April 30, 2016 . Various games and activities were conducted in which all the employees participated with a lot of enthusiasm and zeal. It was followed by a colourful cultural programme in which the employees showed their musical potential and singing talent .

 The Principal of the school appreciated the contribution of the Support Staff to help the Institution scale great height through  their hard work, devotion & pride with their work. Students were motivated to respect & honour the helpers. Maam reiterated her faith in them and said next to faith in God is faith in the devoted members of the family.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

Honourable Founder Chairman Sir , Shri B. D. Gulati ji was a true Karamyogi whose awesome and all inspiring personality was the perennial source of inspiration for all the members of Blue Bells Family. Sirs vision, idealism and philosophical perspective have made him an illustrious role-model for all of us. It is his  philosophy of selfless service to the society which we , at Blue Bells deeply cherish , and revere.

The school commemorated  the Birth Anniversary of the revered Founder Chairperson Shri. B. D. Gulati ji by celebrating Green Day as part of Earth Day Celebration , with utmost zest and zeal from  April 22, 2016. As a tribute to this iconic leader the Blue Bellians pledged to plant more trees as a gesture to keep his vision alive. The Blue Bellians vowed that the April 21st, The Birth Anniversary of Shri. B.D. Gulati ji will be commemorated every year as Green Day.

To sensitize the students about the necessity of protecting Our Mother Earth,  special Morning Assembly was organized by the students of class XII C  focusing on the importance of the natural resources. The students gave  a presentation that brought out the important message on reuse, recycle, reduce, replenish and restore  for conserving the precious flora and fauna. A thought provoking poem presented in the Assembly showcased how pollution has resulted in the slow and steady degradation of resources and how we can initiate the process of change we wish to see around.
The students of the school took a pledge with the Principal of the school, “ We, the students of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School hereby pledge that well commemorate April 21 as Green Day and keep the vision of our Founder Chairperson Sir alive by planting a tree.”
It was a successful initiative of the students and was received with enthusiasm by all the members of the school.

INTERHOUSE QUIZ - OUR CONSTITUTION

An Inter- House Quiz on “Our Constitution” was organized  for the students for the classes IV-V on April 19, 2016  . The aim of the activity was to aware the students about the Constitution of India, it’s history and its goals - Democracy, Socialism, Secularism and National Integration. It spells out the rights and duties of the citizens. The students were also told that it is the largest living document in the world.
Five Question Rounds were conducted. C.V Raman House bagged Ist  position, Radha Kishanan House bagged IInd position, followed by Kalpana Chawla and Sarojini Naidu House.
The event concluded with a message that rights and duties go hand in hand.

GREEN WEEK CELEBRATION

A TRIBUTE TO THE VISIONARY: GREEN WEEK CELEBRATION
AT Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, SECTOR 10, GURGAON

A vision leading to higher goals of achievement is the first component of an indomitable spirit because no dreams can be realized unless they are supported with the highest levels of commitment and a strong set of values and principles.  Shri B. D. Gulati Ji, the Founder Chairperson Of Blue Bells Group of Schools was one such indomitable spirit whose cherished dream was to give back to society in his own humble way.

The entire week was filled with plethora of activities to generate sensitivity towards this noble cause. Nursery – UKG students planted saplings within the school premises and made bookmarks. Students learnt the importance of preserving planet earth.  The students of Classes I , II & III  actively participated in “Best Out of Waste” activity . They also made animal puppets using eco friendly material with the aim to learn the 3 Rs –Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and decorated them with their creativity. These artifacts also contained messages like saving water and energy, reducing pollution, recycling, protecting our animals, trees and plants, and protecting the environment. When the younger ones were busy in sensitizing all on the issue, the students of Class IV & V made posters with motivating slogans written on them .The slogans exhorted the people to save the earth through simple thoughtful means .

 A special Morning Assembly was organized wherein the students presented a thought provoking skit, a message was read out which motivated all present, to do their own bit to save the earth. An awareness campaign “A Green Walk” was also organized by the students of Class V in the vicinity of the school in Sector-10 to sensitize the residents about the importance of saving environment along with the ideas of Cleanliness and Go Green.

ASTRONOMY  CAMP TO MAHASEER FISHING CAMP, NAINITAL

To create awareness among the students about the pristine beauty of Nature & Sky and to arouse in them the spirit of enquiry and adventure, a three-day long Astronomy Camp was organized to Mahaseer Fishing Camp,, a picturesque place in the lap of Nature, on the foothills of the Himalayan Range in Jim Corbett Nainital from April 13 to April 15, 2016. Eight  students accompanied by two teachers embarked on this exciting excursion organized as a part of Astronomy Club, Module 02 .
The students were actively involved in myriad fascinating activities like Camp Tour, river sighting, Astro Photography, preparation and photography using a pin hole camera, preparation of a hot air balloon using plastic bag, straw, aluminum foil & candles and  development of films using various chemical like developer, fixer & stopper.
The students also enjoyed Swimming and Diving, Fun & Adventure activities, Astronomy Session by Mr. Rohit  , Observation of Deep  Sky ,  Stellarium, Saturn , Mars  , Moon & Jupiter with five  moons , functioning & using of DSLR camera along with Burma Bridge Crossing and Mountain Climbing. They felt exhilarated by participating in various team-building activities in the evening involving a unique blending of both physical courage and mental stamina.
The reinforce the learning of concepts  Quiz related to Astronomy was conducted with all the students and the meritorious students were felicitated .Four  Gold Medals were  bagged by team Mangalyaan (Jai, Rehaan, Arya & Himani ) and  Four  Silver Medals were clinched  by team New Horizon (  Sanjeeda, Sayantika , Yeshu & Gracy ). The school team returned after an exciting learning excursion and fond memories to cherish for long.
 

BAISAKHI CELEBRATION

“Festivals paint the canvas of life with splash of colours that rejuvenate us to eternity.”
India is the land of festivals where each festival spreads a myriad colour of the rainbow and joins everyone with the golden string of love. These festivals not only act as a kaleidoscope of rich Indian cultural Heritage but give a platform to all Indians to be together and rejoice each day.  To connect the young Blue Bellians to their roots, each and every festival in the school is celebrated with utmost zest and zeal.
The harvest festival of Punjab, Baisakhi was celebrated with fervor in the school on  April 13 & 14 ,  2016. A special Morning Assembly was organized where the students presented a crisp cultural programme. The students started the assembly with the prayer and Gayatri mantra, followed by the school prayer and pledge. A thought for the day, headline news, interesting facts, recitation of poem and talk.
A talk and skit giving information about Dr. B.R Ambedkar and Baisakhi was presented  by the students. Students also threw light on how Baisakhi is celebrated all around the world. A rhythmic Hindi poem was recited by the students celebrating Baisakhi. The students dressed up in traditional dresses wearing wonderful smiles on their faces, they won the heart of the audience. A colourful dance was presented by the students which brought alive the festive spirit.
The entire school was soaked in the spirit of festivity. The Programme came to a close when the revered Principal of the school congratulated all the students and staff members on behalf of the Director& Management of the school. Maam told the students not to ape the western culture but to be joined to the basics of our rich origin. Maam asked the students to have disciplined approach in their life to be successful.

FOUNDERS DAY CELEBRATION

With the dawn of each New Year and the passing of each new day, Blue Bells carries on its mission of spreading the light of education that may lead all from darkness of ignorance to radiance of knowledge. The foundation stone of this unique and rare temple of learning was laid on 25 October 2001 and the First Academic Session started on 10 April 2003. To commemorate this day, Founders Day was celebrated with utmost zeal and enthusiasm on April 11, 2016.
The celebration started on a spiritual note as Hawan was performed by the esteemed Director Dr. Suman Gulati, Dr. Alka Saxena ,Assistant Director ( Health & Wellness), BBGS and Ms. N. Bhatti , a strong pillar of strength for the Blue Bells Family , Principal Maam, faculty members and the young Blue Bellians. The students presented a short and crisp Morning Assembly tracing the history of the school from its origin to the niche it has created for itself in the decade under the able leadership of Director Maam and all well wishers. The highlight of the celebration was the concern of the students in raising social and environmental issues. The Heritage & Eco  Club of the school in the morning took out a Rally to acquaint the people around on the conservation of resources along with the improvement in the quality of air around and sensitize everyone on the importance of  CAR FREE DAY. The programme concluded with an inspiring dance presentation by the students on the theme, SAVED RESOURCE IS A GENERATED RESOURCE.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Madam wished all the Blue Bellians a stupendous career and contended life. Maam prayed to the Almighty to give tremendous strength to all so that we move from one pinnacle of achievement to other and create a wonderful world with ecstatic pleasures.

“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.”

Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit. When one is free from physical disabilities and mental distractions, the gates of the soul open.The body is a  temple where the God resides therefore it is pertinent to take care of ones own health . Human body is a complex set of organs and body parts.   Every part works in total coordination for the smooth functioning of the body. The directions of the proper coordination are given by brain. To help the students understand the importance of each and every part of the body, CONNECT ME ACTIVITY was conducted in Class II on April 7, 2016.
 
In order to reinforce the names of body parts and their position, cut out of various body parts were given to students.
The students joined the body parts correctly in order to form a body and  also labeled the given body parts. The students were able to identify, label and position the body parts correctly. It was a experiential way of learning for the students which they enjoyed to the utmost.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

“ Dont look back- look  forward, infinite energy, infinite enthusiasm, infinite daring and infinite patience- then alone can great deed  be accomplished.”
This year marks the brave embarking of the school into another quarter of a century.  It also ushers in the challenges of preparing the  young people to live and work in the information age. Our younger generation needs to be prepared with the abilities to think critically and to create genuine, and to communicate and cooperate effectively with people from different backgrounds and cultures. A student should be continually exposed to new knowledge and gain insight into the future, the trends, the opportunities and new thinking which is opening up new vistas for the Generation Y.
In sync with the same objective , the first assembly of the Academic Session 2016-17 on April 4, 2016 ,  was presented by Class XII A on the theme-  Life Should Always be Given a Second Chance. All the assembly features were weaved around this theme and a short play depicting the dilemma of youngsters was appreciated by all. The assembly closed on a promising note that we should not be deterred by the failures in life but take than as stepping stones to success .
The Primary Wing also had the inaugural Assembly on the same day and the students  were also apprised about the five thumb rules to be followed in the school

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME : A NEW BEGINNING

Keeping in mind the holistic growth of the child and the myriad challenges that he has to face in the evolving educational mindscape the school organized an Orientation Programme for the parents of students from classes I & II, III to V and  VI TO X to acquaint them with the dynamic changes incorporated by CBSE in the form of CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation) and The Health & Wellness Programme on March 26, 2016 .
The parents were accorded a warm welcome by the revered Principal of the school. The Vice Principal of the school apprised the parents on the Code of Conduct to be followed by all the students and the Middle Wing In charge talked about the changes under CCE pattern.
Under the initiative and guidance of Madam Soumya Gulati , Assistant Director (Academic Development & Innovation), BBGS has come up with  the Learning  Space- The Learning & Development Centre  . The parents were acquainted with the varied workshops and Gallery Walks which were organized in house along with the pedagogy adopted by the school to bring in innovative practices to enhance the teaching learning process. Back to School Series is an innovative initiative wherein real class room situations are created to apprise the parents about Teaching-Learning processes. The display of learning progression in Classes I to V was appreciated by the parents.
The Health & Wellness Programme of the school spearheaded by Dr. Alka Saxena Assistant Director ( Health & Wellness), BBGS  ardently  focuses on  to prepare a child  so that he/ she is   physically  and emotionally empowered along with strengthening the belief that SCHOOL IS A SAFE & SECURED PLACE.   To sensitize everyone on the role of self-awareness and understanding emotions,  the exemplary display by the Health & Wellness Team was showcased in form of the  ISLAND  OF EMOTIONS.
AWBY , the Mascot of The Health & Wellness Team was launched during the Orientation caught the attention of the parents .The parents  were apprised about the personality traits of  AWBY that it is  optimistic, trustworthy, empathic, motivated, enthusiastic, emotionally sound and resolved, secure, confident, approachable, friendly and  resilient. The motto of the team is to inculcate all these skills in the students so that they are prepared for different phases of life . This display of emotions   beautifully brought alive the importance of nurturing core Life Skills in the students to combat the challenges of life  and was highly lauded by all the parents.
For Classes I to V, the parents were apprised of Integrated Teaching Methodology, Special Celebrations, CCE, DEAR, IT Education, I-Cards, Life Skills, Time Management, Meditation, Lunch Schedule, Tours & Travels, Transport, Thots Lab and Edusports. In  Classes  VI to X, the facilitators briefed the parents on the latest CBSE updates including changes in the pattern of evaluation of both scholastic and co-scholastic subjects, integrated and thematic planning in various subjects along with Life Skills Education. The members reiterated the need for the constant support of parents to achieve milestones. The school Counsellor gave an insight into the The Health & Wellness Programme, an initiative of the CBSE, whose innovative modules were implemented in classes VI to X from November 2009 onwards.
The felicitators provided all the information deemed essential for the proper growth of the students to their parents so that the communication channel is open and the bond between the school and the parents is strengthened.
