PUPPET-SHOW ACTIVITY

“Learning must be sought with ardour and attended to with diligence.”

Family is like MUSIC , some high notes, some low notes, but it is always a beautiful  SONG . To inculcate family values and develop social skills a Puppet Show Activity was conducted in Class I on July 7 & 8, 2016 . The students were asked to make ice cream stick puppets and speak a few lines about them. The aim of the activity was to develop linguistic skills along  with creativity.
It is around this age that kids begin communicating among larger settings and partake in social activities without the presence of a teacher. They begin learning how to interact with the different personalities of their peers. It can help break the ice between students and initiate natural conversation. By exploring different communication techniques using puppets, students can apply the same to regular conversations. Students took part in the activity enthusiastically and loved speaking about their family through puppets.

ECO WEEK & DOCTORS DAY CELEBRATION

The Pre-Primary And Primary Wing  of the school celebrated Doctors Day & Eco Week from July 4 to July 8, 2016.
ECO WEEK programs were inspired to create awareness and  empower the  young Blue Bellians  to be the harbingers of the better tomorrow for not only  their society but nation at large.  The students were involved in various activities to create awareness about cleanliness and environmental issues.

Class Nursery teachers demonstrated the correct way of brushing teeth, importance of keeping ourselves clean and healthy eating habits and children recited the rhyme “Brush Brush Brush Your Teeth”
Students of  LKG were made aware about healthy habits i.e. cover your mouth while coughing , sneezing, yawning with the help of frog puppet. Facilitators layed emphasis on the importance of covering the mouth so that germs do not spread from one person to the other.
The Doctors Day was observed on July 8, 2016 to lay emphasis on the value of doctors in our lives. It is an occasion to give them their due respect through commemorating one of their greatest representatives. India has shown remarkable improvements in the medical field and July 1 pays a perfect tribute to all the doctors who have made relentless efforts towards achieving this goal irrespective of the odds.
The students of UKG met the Doctor of our school on  July 8, 2016 .  The doctor told them about health and hygiene and showed them medical tools like stethoscope, Thermometer, bandage and First Aid box etc. The presentation was informative  and knowledgeable for all  the students. The students expressed their gratitude and thanked the doctor for the informative session.

The students  of Class II went to Class I and gave health tips to their little buddies as a part of the Sanitation Drive. Role play was conducted in Class III and children dressed up as different types of doctors like dentist, child specialist and recited few lines on the same. A group activity was conducted in Class IV where students made collage on Saving Environment. Class V students presented self composed poems on Plants through Chorus Rhyming with eco friendly props. They also made Power Point Presentations on Communicable Diseases.
The activities acted like a bridge between academia and reality and students took part with great enthusiasm.
 
 

Investituture Ceremony

“The greatest achievement of the human spirit is to live up to one”s opportunities and make the most of one”s resources.”
In the present scenario, education has become an inter play of multiple factors and is replete with ceaseless activities. Education combined with leadership qualities helps young minds to overcome insurmountable difficulties to become great leaders.

In the words of  Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru , “ The future of the nation is developed in the class- room” – To strengthen these words and  inculcate and infuse the sense of responsibility in the students who are the futuristic citizens of the nation, Investiture ceremony was held on May 20, 2016. The Student Council was selected and the office bearers were entrusted with duties and responsibilities. The remarkable feature of the Ceremony was when the Council members lit the auspicious diya showing their commitment of heralding a new horizon for the school. Pranshul Sood , Sanya Godiyal and Yuthika Khatri, Head Boy , Head Girl and the Sports Captain  for the previous Academic Session 2015-16, passed the School Flag to Hardik Khurana , Revika Malik and  Yash ,the Head Boy ,Head Girl and Sports Captain  for the Academic Session 2016-17. This was also to enlighten the students that privileges can be no greater than obligations. The revered Principal of the school not only gave away the badges to the Council Members but also apprised them of the responsibilities they would share. Principal Ma”am reiterated her faith on the strength of youth power to bring a change in the entire system of working so that it can bring a progressive change in the society and nation.

MOTHERS DAY CELEBRATION

The history of the world is a history of its mothers. A mother is more to her child than any other being, human or divine. To celebrate the glory of motherhood and pay homage to this divine symbol of selfless love and unconditional support, the school organized a special celebration on the occasion of Mothers Day in the school premises on May 7, 2016.

Dr. Suman Gulati, revered Director, BBGS, conveyed her wishes to all the mothers on this momentous occasion. Under the initiative and guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena , Assistant Director ( Health and Wellness), BBGS  , a session was organized for the participating mothers and Dr. Shilpi Garg, Assistant Lecturer, Anatomy, Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi,  was the eminent resource person. The session focused on health and hygiene, detection of cervical and breast cancer in females which was appreciated by all the mothers and became the highlight of the Celebration
The Principal of the School Ms. Anjali Nagpal accorded a warm welcome to all the mothers and in her address urged the parents to rise above gender biases and provide a status of equality to women in our society.   
It was a heartening tribute to the unfathomed love, unconditional support and affection ushered by the mother to her child to make him a unique and splendid personality. Various presentations were organized to unearth their latent talents. Mothers actively participated in all the activities and the child in them was elated. A well synchronized Cultural Programme was presented to honour the mothers where there was a perfect blend of poem recitation, music and dance performance.

REGULARITY & PUNCTUALITY AWARD CEREMONY

Change does not necessarily assure progress, but progress implacably requires change.  Education is essential to change, for education creates both new wants and activity to satisfy them.  “Keeping in trend the need for new ideas and methodology, Blue Bells has always implemented new ways of teaching.  The school is a haven where true knowledge transcends the boundaries of the classroom walls and pages in the text-books and extends its arms to grasp information from the outer world as well.  Thus , the school  is a learners paradise where the students love to come to school every day.
A special Assembly was organized on May 13, 2016 and the students with 100 % attendance in the Academic Session 2015-16 were awarded with their trophies for Regularity and Punctuality. The students of Class X B presented a short and crisp assembly on theme – SWACHH BHARAT CAMPAIGN.  The programme came to a close with an inspiring Street Play presentation by the students on the theme,  CLEAN CITY GREEN CITY  where they promoted the ideas initiated by Prime Minister Shri. Narender Modi on October 2, 2014. The students brought alive the ideae that change comes from within and lets all be the harbingers of the change for a clean environment and better future.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Maam wished everyone and asked the students to internalize the concept of Swacch Bharat – Cleanliness Drive so that we can clean our surroundings and make our environment become better . She aspired to see all Blue Bellians on the pinnacle of achievement and glory in truest sense with a disciplined approach in life.

WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY CELEBRATION

“Tobacco Companies Kill their Best Customers and Once You Start; Its Hard to Stop…”

To highlight the health risks associated with tobacco use, WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY, designated by the World Health Organization is observed every year on May 31, 2014. In sync with the directives of CBSE to generate awareness on this issue, the Health and Wellness Team of the school , started the Anti Tobacco Campaign under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools.
The students were explained the harmful effects of smoking and other tobacco products.
Anti Tobacco Campaign was started by the school by participating in WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY CELEBRATION under the directives of CBSE. The students created thought provoking posters in  Poster Making Competition  organized for  Classes VI to VIII  on May 11, 2016. The selected posters were then displayed at the reception of the school and the best entries were sent to CBSE.

An Essay Writing Competition was organized for the students of Classes IX & X  on the theme –TOBACCO KILLS IN ANY FORM OR DISGUISE on May 13, 2016. The students articulated their thoughts and emotions well and presented thought provoking write-ups on the theme. The best two entries were selected for the school magazine and sent to CBSE. When the juniors were busy in Poster Making and Essay Writing, the students of Class XI and XII were recording the things and actions to formulate a report with the broad theme – MEDIA AND TOBACCO : HOW THEY GET THE MESSAGE ACROSS. The two best reports were sent to CBSE. 

A Special Morning Assembly was organized on May 20, 2016 where the focus was on creating awareness among the students and teachers on the use of tobacco products. The students presented a skit on the theme –PLAIN PACKAGING is an important tobacco reduction measure. The students beautifully showcased how adolescents get attracted towards tobacco products because of the packaging and famous brands. They also depicted how plain packaging can curb the initial thought of trying tobacco products because of the increased health warnings and gruesome pictures of diseases caused by tobacco. An informative talk was also given by Ms. Shreya Kumar, School Counsellor, wherein she shared some statistics about tobacco use in India along with what really tobacco is, its effects on the nervous system, its physical effects and its effects on our academics and social life. Lastly, she also talked briefly about plain packaging and how that can reduce the sale of tobacco products, especially in adolescents.

The Assembly closed on a promising note with a SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN. The Principal, Vice Principal, Middle Wing Incharge, The Health & Wellness Team, teachers and students wrote their thoughts and ideas to sensitize all on this core issue. The response of the students was overwhelming and the motive of enlightening Gen Now took the shape of a reality. This will be one drop in the ocean to create aware and empowered adolescents who will be prepared to combat this devil of tobacco use with ease.
The Campaign contributed in spreading awareness against the use of tobacco.

RAIN DANCE ACTIVITY

Even words could not have said all that those whoopee faces and eyes sparkling with merriment said. Shrugging off the hot and furious summer sun, we hopped over and found a stupendous way to relish this ingredient of the weather too, as the lil kiddos of Nursery - UKG enjoyed a RUMBLIN RAIN DANCE on May 13, 18 and 20, 2016 .
The pool area was joyfully resplendent with bouncy beach balls, colorful slides and water sprinklers. In addition the groovy music added that happening touch to the event. To some extent, it felt as if the sprinklers were showering giggles and jiggles in lieu of water.

The children in a jovial mood seemed to have a deep and abiding friendship with water.........thats what their deeds of  splashing in water said. Not only the kiddos, but all the adults also revived magnificent memories of their childhood, and let that little  child  deep inside the maze of their heart rejoice.

Art Workshop Primary Wing

Art & Craft has always been an important part of childhood, it is the building block to a strong foundation of a childs personality. Learning to create and appreciate visual aesthetics is important in a childs all round development. Keeping this perspective the school organized and Art & Craft Workshop  – “Do It YourSelf” conducted by Zee Q , Indias youngest Entertainment Channel for Children on May 12, 2016 for the students of Class III –VI. The students were engaged in creating interesting projects like Mask Making & Puppet Making  using raw materials like paper plates, straws etc. The best creation in each class were also awarded with a Certificate Of Excellence . Students enjoyed being part of this workshop.

Educational Movie Trip

“Educational trips and excursions play an essential role in the holistic development of a child. “

The school organized one such trip for Classes III – V to watch The Jungle Book movie at Inox multiplex on May 10, 2016. The Jungle Book is a 2016 American fantasy adventure film directed by Jon Favreau, written by Justin Marks and produced by Walt Disney Pictures.   The Jungle Book is a live-action/CGI film that tells the story of Mowgli, an orphaned human boy who, guided by his animal guardians, sets out on a journey of self-discovery while evading the threatening Shere Khan. The film introduces Neel Sethi as Mowgli.

The film is an eye-popping spectacle where the jungle breathes and animals emote with their eyes. The movie took students to an ultimate journey in a jungle. The wildlife chronicle, that reminded most of us of our childhood, is based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories, that students are very closely associated with. While the most iconic animal characters are brought back to life onscreen from Baloo, the bear to Shere Khan, the tiger.

The movie trip encouraged students’ interest in exploring the natural the environment of animals and to develop sensitivity towards animals. The movie seamlessly blends live-action with photorealistic animals and environments, using up-to-the-minute technology and storytelling techniques to immerse students in an enchanting and lush world which create awareness and environment sensitivity among students as to how important natural habitat is for animals.

Mothers Day Activity

A special assembly was conducted by the students of Class IV–B & II-C to celebrate  Mothers’ Day on May 3 & 4 , 2016  The assembly started with a soulful rendition dedicated to mothers by the students of LKG –II . The other highlights of the assembly were Poetical Presentation, Skit and Mother’s Day Song.
To pay our tribute to the unfathomed love of the mothers, interesting activities were conducted for the students of Classes Nur –V . The students displayed their artistic and creative talents through the following activities:-

The students prepared various artifacts using different materials like straws , egg trays ,beads, mirrors. Their work was displayed on the Mothers Day event. The students enjoyed the activities as it gave a vent to the hidden talents hibernating in them and the artist in them was elated to the core.
