LETS BUY VEGETABLES : AN INTERACTIVE ACTIVITY FOR CLASS LKG

“Lets Buy Vegetables” activity was organized by class LKG on July 22, 2016.
The set up for the activity  was done by the teachers in the room. The students brought raw vegetables from their home. One  student from each section was dressed up as a vegetable vendor.  The students were given fake notes to buy the vegetables of their choice. With the help of this activity students groom their knowledge about the colour, taste and texture of the vegetable and also the benefits of eating vegetables.

UKG STUDENTS VISIT SPENCERS

In sync with the ongoing theme  Farm to Table , an educational trip was organized for the students of UKG on  July 22, 2016 ( Friday) . The students were taken around the food section and shown various food products like cheese, paneer, milk, butter, ghee, yoghurt etc obtained from farm animals after being processed. They were also told that the vegetables and the products like tomato ketchup and jam sold at the shops are obtained from plants grown at farms by the farmers. The students identified other such products which come from the farmers market and the farm animals.
It was a learning experience for the students to know  how the plants are  grown by the farmers or the things obtained from farm animals are processed and brought to the retail shops from where it is bought by consumers  and  finally reaches  our tables.

ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS ASSEMBLY & INTER-HOUSE DEBATE

“Invest in healthy soils with the pulses of life , eat and grow them in plenty and have a healthy diet. ”
Van Mahotsava is an annual tree planting festival in the month of July. In India it was started as a crusade to save mother earth. It is celebrated to create awareness in the mind of the people for the conservation of forests and planting of new trees. To further the need of environment conservation students of Class IV –A on July 20, 2016 gave an apt culmination to all environment activities by conducting the assembly on the topic “Environmental Awareness”. They started the assembly by evoking Gods blessing followed by prayer song and updates from the world. The students presented a small skit on "Pollution" where they depicted how small steps can lead to big changes in terms of conserving water, forests and atmosphere
An Inter-House Debate Competition – “Is Organic Farming an Ultimate Solution to Healthy Food ” was also conducted. The theme of the debate integrated Environmental Awareness with the International Year of Pulses, 2016 declared by the 68th UN General Assembly. The aim of the debate was to create awareness about the benefits for pulses for health and environment. The participants of Class V from all four Houses presented their views on the same. The  distinguished panel of Judges comprised of English Faculty members from the  Senior Wing of the  school.  The judges evaluated and decided the winners by assessing the Organization & Clarity of Content, Use of Argument, Use of Cross Examination along with the Presentation Style. The result of the debate was as follows

The assembly was presided over by the revered Principal Maam Ms Anjali Nagpal who appreciated the efforts of the teams and also laid stress on how these special assemblies powerfully nurture the intrapersonal intelligence of the students making a positive contribution to the self development and awareness among them .

VISIT TO FLOUR MILL

In  sync with the ongoing theme  Farm to Table , an educational trip was organized for the students of UKG on 20th July  16( Wednesday) .The students saw the entire process of wheat being grinded into flour and packed . They were excited to see the wheat being grounded by a machine equipped with rollers that break it into pieces and finally becoming fine white flour.
It was a learning experience of how a product grown by the farmers reaches our kitchen  and students enjoyed  a lot .

OUR HELPERS : AN ENRICHING ACTIVITY FOR CLASS II

Human beings are social in nature. Being a part of our society, we exhibit a social behaviour too. In our social environment, we take care of others and they care us too. There are designated roles which a person needs to adhere and work for the progression of society and these people are our saviours or helpers. They  make our community a better place and life better for all around them. These are people in professions that directly impact the lives of others. The people in professions or occupations that deliver a service that makes our lives easier or better are the community helpers.

To inculcate and infuse the sense of dignity of labour , an activity was conducted in Class II on the role of the helpers on July 15, 2016. The Students dressed up and talked about various helpers such as the policemen and policewomen who keep our communities safe, the doctors and nurses who help us all stay healthy, the teachers who help students learn, the postal carriers who deliver mail. The activity helped the children to realize that every job or work is unique and special and no one person is more or less important than another.

VANMAHOTSAV CELEBRATION

“ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION – A NECESSITY FOR EXISTENCE.”
The Eco Club of the school, since its inception, have unfailing carried on the task of upgrading the environment in and around the school by creating awareness on environment conservation. The school celebrated Vanmahotsav on July 15, 2016 to show the concern for saving Mother Earth. The work was ardently carried on with zest by the young nature lovers and was whole heartedly supported by the Management of the school.
The members of the Eco Club of the school and Class IX took out an ECO Drive, a rally which was flagged off by the Principal and Vice Principal of the school,  to sensitize everyone in the nearby vicinity on conservation of resources. The students made interesting banners, posters and placards. A rally was taken in the sector where the students clearly stated their motto- EACH ONE PLANT ONE and GREEN CITY CLEAN CITY. They urged people to contribute constructively to spread the cover of greenery all around along with the conservation of our precious resources.
The students of Classes VI to VIII mad thought provoking posters on the topic- CONSERVATION OF RESOURCES FOR A BETTER TOMORROW and the best posters were displayed at strategic locations in the school.
 The Blue Bellians uphold the vision of Clean Earth, Green Earth and religiously follow the principle of 3 Rs – Reduce , Recycle and Reuse and  pledged to work as an effective team to save our earth from being depleted of its greenery and precious resources.

INTER CLASS POSTER MAKING AND STORY BOOK MAKING COMPETITION

“When power narrows the area of mans concern, co – curricular activities remind us of the richness and diversity of our existence.“
Co-curricular Activities ensures the harmonious growth of personality in children. It is source of strength for streamlining the talents of the child. It also helps to improve analytical thrust for knowledge competitive spirit, communication abilities, value orientation, leadership teamwork and various other facets of life which are important for them to develop into a confident personality. In sync with the same, a Poster Making  and Story Book Making Competition was organized for the students of Classes VI to VIII and X and XI respectively on July 15, 2016 to mark the celebration of Vanmahotsav and World Population Day.
The students of Classes VI to VIII made thought provoking posters on the topic – CONSERVATION OF RESOURCES FOR A BETTER TOMORROW  whereas the students of Classes X and XI made interesting books using illustrations on the topic – “ PLANNING TO FAIL IS FAILING TO PLAN…. The students researched well on the topic and their presentations were remarkable and selected posters were displayed at the strategic locations of the school so that the learning can percolate to the deeper level and is internalized. The selected Books were submitted with the Library as a resource and will also find their place in the school magazine- CREATICA.
The Principal of the school appreciated the efforts of the students and wanted them to be the actual custodians of the country.

EID CELEBRATION Primary Wing

Celebrating multifarious cultures and festivals symbolizes the unity of a nation, which our school takes pride in. To commemorate the occasion of Id Ul Fitr ,the students  Class IV-D presented a special assembly on July 13, 2016  “Let’s Unite and Rise”  enlightening the students about the spirit behind the festival. Students presented a skit based on famous story “Eidgaah” by  Munshi Premchand. This was followed by a Qawaali which reaffirmed our faith in God and filled the atmosphere with melody and festivity. Along with these presentations students also presented a poem on Eid. The assembly concluded with meditation. The School Principal Ms Anjali Nagpal addressed the assembly accentuating the fact that harmony and unity indeed helps to build a strong nation and wished “Eid Mubarak” to all. The Primary Wing In-charge Ms Sushma Malhotra also appreciated the participative spirit of the entire class and told them about the importance of team work and harmony in life.

ORIENTATION CLASS XI

STRENGHTHENING PARENT SCHOOL INTERFACE: ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR PARENTS AT Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, SECTOR 10, GURGAON
Education is the human right with immense power to transform. On its foundation rest the cornerstones of freedom, democracy & sustainable human development.

The school aims at holistic education of the students catering to an all-round development of the personality. It not only equips todays youngsters to face every challenge of this techno-savvy world, but also inculcates in them abiding love for traditional values, cultural heritage and wonderfully diverse festivals.  To apprise the parents of the students of Class XI about the working system of the school, an Orientation Programme was organized on  July 9,  2016. The Orientation was a gateway to apprise all the respected parents about ideology, pedagogy and teaching methodology imparted in the institution. It was also a means to draw attention towards diversified activities blended with academics to equip the students to satisfy the demands of the day.
 After the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, the formal welcome to the august gathering was given by Mrs. Anjali Nagpal, Principal of the school. Mrs. Arpita Acharya, Vice Principal of the school apprised the parents about the Code of Conduct, Punctuality, Transport, Dress Code, Regularity and I-card. The faculty members of Class XI & XII talked about the Evaluation & Assessment System, , Assessment of Speaking & Listening Skill and Adolescent Education Program which is a prerequisite to holistic growth.  The parents were also updated about the latest ventures of the school to provide a unique learning platform to the students.
Under the initiative and guidance of Madam Soumya Gulati , Assistant Director (Academic Development & Innovation), BBGS has come up with  the Learning  Space- The Learning & Development Centre  . The parents were acquainted with the varied workshops and Gallery Walks which were organized in house along with the pedagogy adopted by the school to bring in innovative practices to enhance the teaching learning process.
The Health & Wellness Programme of the school spearheaded by Dr. Alka Saxena Assistant Director ( Health & Wellness), BBGS  ardently  focuses on  to prepare a child  so that he/ she is   physically  and emotionally empowered along with strengthening the belief that SCHOOL IS A SAFE & SECURED PLACE.  
The parents were introduced to the faculty members who have been entrusted with the responsibility of teaching their wards. The last part of the Programme was an OPEN HOUSE where the parents were invited to put their queries to the faculty members so that they have right information about the working methodology and psycho-pedagogy of the school. It was an enriching experience for all.

Eid Celebration

“Festivals are crest of our culture and they bring
eternal delight”.
Festivals are joyous occasion which bind our hearts together till eternity. Blue Bells believes in imparting holistic education to its pupils where they are not only told to respect their religion but also other religions as well. All the festivals regardless of religion are celebrated in the school to infuse the sense of secular ideology of India. Eid was celebrated with utmost zest and zeal on July 8, 2016 .
The festival of EId-ul-Fitr marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramzan. It is a festival that brings gifts and feasts after a month of fasting.  To enlighten the students about the festival of Eid, a special Morning Assembly was organized to mark the occasion. The students embedded meaning to this assembly by presenting the secular spirit of India. They also briefed everyone about the Life Style Diseases and how they are impacting the youth today.

The Principal of the school congratulated the students on behalf of the Management and Director of the school. Ma’am  also applauded the efforts of students and their sense of belongingness and responsibility towards their work.
