HARMONY DAY ASSEMBLY - PRIMARY WING

 â€œI count….You count….We count”

A special assembly to celebrate Harmony Day in school was conducted by the students of Class IV C on August 17, 2016. The aim of the assembly was to promote the idea of Harmony in the society and that “everyone counts”. Students presented a song and a skit to inculcate the value of kindness , cooperation and care amongst all. Through the skit students provided examples of how they could show these values during their day to day life and showed situations where cooperation is really important. A special song was also presented by the little Blue Bellains from Classes Nursery- II.

Two students from the Primary Wing won accolades in Karate Championships.
Nikunj Kalia Class V B won a Bronze medal in the National Karate Championship and Anuska Class IV A won a Silver medal in 4th NCR Karate Championship both held by Karate India. Primary Wing Incharge Ms Sushma Malhotra gave the medals and certificates to both the champions in the assembly to acknowledge their achievement.

MISSION STOP DENGUE: GUEST LECTURE BY EMINENT DOCTORS

Education is a powerful tool through which we can enlighten the young impressionable minds to become an asset for the nation. It has been rightly said that if you want your child to shine like a star, dont show the other stars but the way to reach the sky. Education is an endless journey through knowledge and enlightenment.

To bring in awareness amongst the students to fight against Dengue fever and other communicable diseases, The Health and Wellness Programme of the school spearheaded by Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director (Health and Wellness), BBGS organized a Guest Lecture by eminent doctors from the department of internal medicine from Medanta, The Medicity , Gurgaon on August 17, 2016 . This was an effort to sensitize the student community on the spread of the disease as well as its prevention and early diagnosis.

The doctors briefed the students about the symptoms of the disease and how it is caused. Dengue fever, also known as breakbone fever, is an acute communicable disease caused by virus transmitted by the Aedes mosquito. The students were also apprised of the breeding condition of the mosquitoes and What can be done to reduce the risk of acquiring the disease. Dengue prevention techniques were shared like -Mosquito Control and Protection against bites and in case of emergency reporting to the doctor. The sessions were interactive and students shared their concerns with the experts. The doctors also shared the ways in which we can have healthy habits in our life style to prevent the spread of various vector borne diseases.

In the last session of the Lecture, a Quiz was conducted to check the understanding of the students about the disease and the response of the students was overwhelming. The students answered all the questions and the team of doctors applauded the efforts of the students and also shared that some answers given by the students were so unique that they were spellbound by the intelligence and awareness they had about the disease. It was a unique learning experience for all the members.

RAKHI MAKING ACTIVITY

“ The golden string of love, compassion and warmth on the wrist of my brother…Rakhi.”

Raksha Bandhan in Sanskrit literally means "To tie a knot of protection".  The word “Raksha” means protection and “Bandhan” is the verb to tie. It is an ancient Hindu festival that ritually celebrates the love and duty between brothers and their sisters. The “Raksha Bandhan” ceremony performed is the symbolic everlasting bond between brothers and sisters that reinforces ties between them even across continents, and it is the one which has the most importance on this auspicious day.
 The students of class Nursery  to UKG celebrated the essence of “Raksha Bandhan” by making rachis and tying on the wrist of their classmates on August 17, 2016. All the students made rakhis with the help of circle cut-outs on which they pasted bindis , flowers, butterflies, circles, stars etc . and added sparkles to beautify the same. They enjoyed making rakhis.

SALUTE TO THE BRAVE MARTYRS: INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

India is a land of diversity yet a land of Unity, love and brotherhood. The turbulent history of subjugation of the country by the Britishers did not dampen the spirit of the mighty Indians. They fought courageously and relentlessly and finally brought back the awaited freedom.
To commemorate the day when India became independent in 1947, Independence Day was celebrated at the ground of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, Sector 10, Gurgaon, with spirited zeal and enthusiasm .The entire school was soaked in the spirit of patriotism.  The revered Principal of the school hoisted the flag, inspected the March past and took the salute from the students platoons. The emotional rendition of a patriotic poem by Sanjeeta and Deepti of Class X,   touched the hearts of the audience. This was followed by a soulful presentation by Arpita Agarwal of Class IX A on Do We Indians Value Freedom?
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the school blessed everyone on behalf of the Management and  Honourable Director Maam. Maam wished  everyone to take responsibility and duty with courage to take India on the pedestal which she once occupied in the comity of Nations.

Raksha Bandhan Celebration

This full moon day our hearts are in brim
Feeling of faith and serenity in mind.
Sisters will tie the thread on the brothers
abiding them to do only what is right and clean.
We light the lamps and our hearts glow
Radiance of happiness and peace are in flow.

Raksha Bandhan……..A festival of threads, a day of celebrating fraternal ties, symbolizing the trust and affection that a brother and sister share.  To strengthen this bond, students made beautiful rakhis. Nature has given us many precious gifts, our students acknowledged this love by tying rakhis to the trees to assert their resolve of saving Mother Nature on August 12, 2016 in the school campus.
With the motif of spreading the message of universal brotherhood and to spread the note of Indias cultural base, unity in diversity, enthusiastic Blue Bellians from the Senior Wing along with Ms. Sapna visited The Air Force Station and tied Rakhi, a sacred bond of love to the officers of the Indian Army. They showcased their commitment and love for their motherland as well as brought out the essence of the festival of Rakshabandhan.

India is the cradle of human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend and the great grandmother of tradition. Our most valuable and most artistic materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only. To root the students to the rich history of the country, the students were engaged in myriad activities .
NURSERY: The students of class Nursery celebrated the essence of Independence by making Tricolour caps. The students did cotton dabbing on the cap cutout given to them. All the students recited the rhyme “hum nanhe mune bache hain” and enjoyed the celebration in the class.
LKG: To celebrate Independence Day the students of class LKG were given the picture of our national bird peacock. Students coloured it beautifully and decorated it with tri colour pumpkin seeds. They were also told about other national symbols of India.
UKG: The students of UKG class had been told the significance of Independence Day by their teacher. They had been shown our National Flag and National symbols. They made Tri-colour kite with the help of their teacher on the occasion of   Independence Day. Through this activity they learnt about Tri-colour and their significance.
Class I –V  :- Students of Classes I & V showcased colourful activities by making tri colour birds, kites and spin wheel .
 

SHOW N TELL ACTIVITY

Family is the single most important influence in a childs life. From their first moments of life, children depend on parents and family to protect them and provide for their needs. Parents and family form a childs first relationships. So to celebrate the essence of family a Show N Tell was organized for our tiny tots of nursery class.

NURSERY: The students of class Nursery were dressed as their favorite Family member. Each one of them spoke 2-3 sentences about their favorite member in the family. All of them took part in this activity .they enjoyed this activity as they got an opportunity to talk about their favorite family members. Show N Tell Activity helped the students to gain confidence and improve their vocabulary and skills of public speaking.

WORLD ASTRONOMY DAY CELEBRATION

The activities planned for the students were divided into three categories - primary, upper primary and secondary & senior secondary level. While the activities within primary level include poster/model making of a solar system, identifying different constellations and their relation with Zodiac signs, the activities within upper primary level include space quiz, collage making on the life of an astronaut of Indian origin.

Many of its areas are yet to be explored and a continuous study and research is going on in various fields associated with it. Astronomy is related to the study of celestial bodies. “This thought was brought alive as students participated in varied activities and made it a unique learning experience.

ENTHUSIASTIC CELEBRATION OF FATHERS DAY

The heart of the father is the masterpiece of nature. The word “Father generates many emotions , he is the one who  always instill values and virtues in children with a firm assertiveness as he is the guiding angel who will take the children  to a world of joy with magnificent treasures .To pay a solemn tribute to the divinity of father, who with  his unfathomed love, unconditional support and motivation transform the life of a child into a wonderful journey of achievement  and accomplishment  , Blue Bell Public School celebrated Fathers Day on   July 23, ,  2016 with utmost zeal and enthusiasm. Various fascinating games and events  were organized to unearth the latent talents hibernating in each father.
The most enjoyable feature of the celebration was the Kite Flying and Team Building activities in which the fathers competed with utmost enthusiasm. The students of the school presented a well synchronized cultural programme to honour and express their gratitude towards the guiding angels of their lives i.e. father. The eyes of all were filled with tears of joy when Vanshika of Class I sang a melodious song to showcase her love for her father. Everyone was spellbound by her  honest attempt  which depicted the deep bond she shared and cherished with her father, her hero in real sense.
Ms. Anjali Nagpal, Principal of the school thanked all the fathers for sparing their precious time from their busy schedule to be a part of the festivity which clearly testifies the strong bond they share not only with their children but also the school. She thanked everyone for their encouraging participation and making this endeavour a success.

AN INSPIRATIONAL INTRODUCTION TO AWBY : THE AWESOME BUDDY , MASCOT, THE HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAMME

 â€œThe Education System has to be based on Capacity Building with socio-emotional aspects at the heart comprising of research and enquiry, capacity to use high end technology, entrepreneurship and moral leadership”. Thus, the training begins from the school which provides a canvas to children to paint their dreams and aspirations. Under the initiative and guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS, The Health & Wellness Team created AWBY (The Awesome Buddy) as a Mascot of the team.

The Mascot of The Health & Wellness Programme of the school showcases the ideology of the team which believes that every child is born to blossom and potentially be the light of the world.  A special Morning Assembly was organized in the school on July 22, 2016 to introduce the Health and Wellness Mascot – AWBY to the students. Dr. Alka Saxena presided over the assembly as the  esteemed Guest and blessed everyone with her radiant presence. Maam  introduced  AWBY and spoke about the aim and objective  behind the making of the Mascot and also the future endeavours of the group. The Peer Educators from Classes VI to VIII were  announced  and Maam honoured them by giving them their badges. 
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Alka Saxena , Assistant Director ( Health and Wellness) , BBGS,  congratulated the students for a wonderful performance the students in varied Life Skills events last year . Maam also  welcomed the newly selected members of the Student Council for their appointment and wished them luck for their future endeavours.
