Project Chhaya – Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam
With a heartfelt commitment to giving back to nature, the
school organised a tree plantation drive under Project Chhaya, inspired
by the beautiful theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.” The initiative brought together
students, teachers, and the community with a shared purpose to plant trees,
nurture them, and create a greener tomorrow.
The enthusiasm was visible as our young green warriors
stepped beyond the school gates and took the message of environmental
responsibility to the neighbouring areas. Carrying hand-painted banners and
thoughtful posters, they spread awareness and encouraged others to join the
movement.
Students planted a variety of native saplings across the
school campus and designated community areas. Adding to the spirit of the
drive, the NCC cadets participated with great enthusiasm, demonstrating
discipline and teamwork while helping with the plantation and guiding the
younger students.
The theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” gave the initiative a special
emotional connect. By planting a tree in honour of their mothers, students were
reminded that just as a mother nurtures and cares for us, nature too sustains
and protects us. It was a simple yet powerful way of helping young minds
understand that caring for the environment begins with gratitude—and with
taking responsibility for the world around us.
The day ended with the students taking a meaningful pledge to
care for and nurture their saplings. More than just planting trees, Project
Chhaya planted a sense of responsibility in young hearts, leaving behind
not only a greener campus and neighbourhood, but also a generation ready to
care for nature, one tree at a time.
