Career
Counselling Initiative: Guiding Students Towards Informed Choices
In an increasingly
dynamic and competitive world, choosing the right career path has become both
an exciting and challenging journey for young minds. To empower students with clarity
and confidence in their future aspirations, a three-day event was organised at
BD Blue Bells Public School under the able guidance of our mentor, Dr. Alka
Saxena.
The programme commenced
with a Career Awareness Session for Grade XI students, followed by individual
career counselling sessions over the next two days. The sessions aimed to
enable learners to explore diverse career pathways, understand emerging
opportunities, and make informed decisions aligned with their interests,
aptitude, and values.
The resource person
shared valuable insights into the evolving professional landscape, highlighting
both conventional and emerging career options across fields such as technology,
medicine, law, business, actuarial science, and design.
A key highlight of the
programme was the psychometric assessment-based counselling conducted for
students along with their parents, which provided deeper insights into each
student’s aptitude, personality, and potential career pathways. The
collaborative interaction between counsellors and parents ensured that students
received appropriate guidance and support while planning their academic and
professional journeys.
The initiative proved to
be both enlightening and empowering, reinforcing the belief that well-informed
decisions, supported by understanding and encouragement, pave the way for a
fulfilling future.
