PEER EDUCATORS INTRODUCTORY SESSION (2024-25)

 The Health & Wellness Programme at Blue Bells Group of Schools offers a holistic education that integrates values, life skills, and well-being. Dr Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools, an avant-garde educationist and

visionary, developed this comprehensive Peer Educator Programme with a clear vision: to empower students to become effective role models and serve as an accessible and approachable health education resource both inside and outside the classroom.

On September 26, 2024, a Peer Educator Introductory Session was held at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School for the newly elected Peer Educators from BBMS and BDBBPS. The Leadership Team of both schools also graced the occasion. The session, facilitated by Health and Wellness Ambassadors and Peer Mentors from both schools, included activities and insights on key topics and encouraged active participation in discussions. Dr. Alka briefed the student leaders about the roles and responsibilities of the Peer Educators.

A key event highlight was an Anti-Bullying workshop led by Dr. Alka Saxena and the Resource Center Team. The students were apprised of the types and effects of bullying and discussed the role of Bystanders in depth. Divided into groups, the students were assigned a research project on Anti-Bullying and given a timeline to present their findings using various methods.

 Dr. Alka creatively outlined the responsibilities of Peer Educators, offering valuable advice on how to approach their duties thoughtfully. She emphasized the importance of these roles and motivated the students to strive for excellence in all their endeavours. Through her guidance, the students were inspired to harness their potential and remain committed to positively impacting their peers.

An Indigenous Initiative: Expert Session on Career Paths and College Admission

At Brahm Dutt Blue Bells, the focus is on providing students with two essential ingredients for life: strong roots and powerful wings. This combination enables them to soar to great heights while staying grounded, empowering them to live independently and confidently face life’s challenges. The school strives to engage students in activities beyond the curriculum, ensuring they connect their academic knowledge to real-life scenarios. This holistic approach prepares them to make well-informed decisions about their future.

In pursuance with this objective and under the patronage of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS, the students of Classes XI and XII of the school attended an insightful session titled "Our Future Unveiled: Expert Q&A on Career Paths and College Admissions" on October 4, 2024, at Lotus Valley International School. The students actively participated in the session led by the renowned career counsellor, Mr. Jitin Chawla.

The session explored emerging career trends, innovative courses available at Delhi University, and strategies to align educational choices with future opportunities. The students received valuable insights that empowered them to make informed decisions about their academic and career paths. These workshops aim to open new avenues for the students, helping them navigate their future with clarity and confidence.

AIR FORCE DAY CELEBRATION

The Grade XI Science Stream students organized a special assembly to honour the bravery and dedication of the Indian Air Force in commemoration of Air Force Day on October 08, 2024. The event began with an engaging introduction that traced the history and growth of the Indian Air Force since its establishment in 1932.  The scholars shared intriguing facts that highlighted the Air Force's essential role in national security and its contributions to disaster relief efforts.

The assembly reached its emotional peak with heartfelt poetry, expressing deep patriotism and admiration for the valour of our air warriors. A special mention goes to Aryan Singh from Class XI B, whose self-composed poem stirred a sense of pride and resonated deeply with the audience. Motivational speeches followed, inspiring students to reflect on the significance of service, duty, and commitment to their country.

Principal Dr. Trilok Singh Bist and Vice-Principal Ms. Roopali Kudesia addressed the gathering, commending the students on their outstanding performance and offering thoughtful words on the importance of discipline, hard work, and love for the nation.

The celebration also included a proud moment for the school as medals were awarded to the Girls' Volleyball Teams (Under 14 and Under 19) for their exceptional achievements at the CBSE Volleyball Clusters.

The assembly ended with a wave of applause, leaving everyone inspired, uplifted, and filled with patriotic pride.

CBSE SKILL EXPO 2024

The 'CBSE Skill Expo and Guidance Festival 2024'  was organised  on September 28, 2024, at Chitkara International School, bringing together talented students from North Indian states for a Regional Showcase. Our school proudly had two projects selected for this esteemed event. Arihant Rao from VII A and Dakshit from VII C presented their "Smart Medicine Dispenser," while Prisha Bhatia and Poorvi from Class X A introduced their innovative "Auto Cleaning Mode of AC."

This festival offered a remarkable opportunity for students and educational institutions to present their creative ideas. The event was led by Ms. Anjali Chhabra, Joint Secretary of CBSE Headquarters, and featured distinguished speakers, including Mr. Sofi Zahoor, Mr. Rahul J. Nair, Mr. Neeraj Sullhan, Mr. Shivam Agrawal, and Ms. Teevrta Kaul. These thought leaders shared their knowledge and experiences, igniting inspiration in the budding innovators present.

The panel of judges, comprising Dr. Sunil Dutt and Mr. Shivam Agrawal, evaluated the projects with great care. Overall, the Skill Expo proved to be an enriching experience for both students and teachers, fostering learning and growth.

Storytelling Session with Grandparents

Celebrating the Bond Between Generations: A Special Storytelling Session with Grandparents

‘Grandparents are our storytellers, weaving rich tales of love and wisdom that forever stay in our hearts.’

In celebration of the International Year of the Elderly, a special Storytelling Session was held on October 1, 2024, for students from Nursery to Class V. Grandparents were invited to share their cherished stories with the children. As they entered the classrooms, they were warmly welcomed with smiles and heartfelt gratitude, feeling the love and excitement from the young ones eager to listen to their anecdotes.

From the clever tales of Akbar and Birbal to inspiring stories from the Ramayana and Mahabharata, the sessions were entertaining and filled with meaningful lessons. Laughter and reflective moments filled the air as these timeless stories bridged the gap between generations. The affection and appreciation the grandparents received from the children made the day truly special.

This event was a heartfelt tribute to the enduring bond between generations, creating lasting memories for everyone involved.

GANDHI SHASTRI JAYANTI CELEBRATION

On October 1, 2024, the students of Grade 1C held a special assembly to honour the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. The event aimed to inspire students to embody the core values of non-violence, truth, and simplicity, which both leaders exemplified throughout their lives. The program opened with a heartfelt choir performance dedicated to Gandhiji. The young peace advocates delivered a thoughtful message highlighting the importance of non-violence.

A thought-provoking skit illustrated key lessons from the lives of Gandhiji and Shastri, showing how truth, perseverance, and non-violence can pave the way to success. The School Leadership Team urged students to adopt these values, reinforcing the relevance of Gandhiji’s teachings in today’s world.

BACK TO SCHOOL SERIES

Under the able guidance of Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academic Development and Innovation, Blue Bells Group of Schools, BDBBPS recently hosted the annual 'Back to School Series' on 14 September 2024, for parents of Classes LKG and UKG wherein parents gained valuable insights into the school's innovative teaching methods and pedagogical approaches.

 The event showcased the school's commitment to fostering a nurturing environment that encourages academic excellence. Through interactive sessions, parents experienced the engaging and effective teaching methodologies.

 The 'Fun with Numbers' session for LKG parents highlighted the development of numeracy skills, while the 'READ-O-PHONICS' session for UKG parents demonstrated strategies for early literacy development.

 A 'Gallery Walk' was organized to showcase Class Nursery students' creative expressions, highlighting how their skills are nurtured and developed from an early age.

 In conclusion, the 'Back to School Series' and the 'Gallery Walk' was a resounding success, with parents actively participating in and appreciating the interactive sessions. Their enthusiastic engagement reflected the school's commitment to collaborative learning and parental involvement. The event's impact was evident in the positive feedback and renewed enthusiasm among parents, who left with a deeper understanding of their children's educational journey and a strengthened partnership with the school.

GALLERY WALK (CLASSES I & II)

 The annual 'Gallery Walk' event was held on 14 September 2024, showcasing the innovative learning journey and progress of Classes I and II students. Under the inspiring leadership of Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director (Academic Development and Innovation), Blue Bells Group of Schools, the event highlighted the school's integrated transdisciplinary approach.

Adding to the event's success, students showcased their culinary skills at a charity stall, with proceeds going to support less privileged individuals through the school's Community Outreach Initiative.

The event received overwhelming appreciation from parents, who were impressed by the visible learning progression and creative talents of their children.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE

The students of Class III C organized a special assembly to mark the International Day of Peace.

 The young peace advocates delivered a heartfelt presentation, expressing their interpretations of peace. This was followed by a Peace Pledge, where students committed to being kind, compassionate, and generous towards others and the environment. The assembly concluded with uplifting song and dance performances, spreading the message of unity and friendship.

 The School Leadership Team encouraged the students to play their part in fostering a world grounded in empathy, peace, and generosity.

Understanding Emotions (Middle & Senior Wing)

Cultivating Emotional Awareness: Transformative Workshop for Educators

People who are aware of their own emotions and able to manage them effectively are likely to build strong relationships and create a supportive environment. With this thought, on September 12, 2024, under the aegis of Adept a Program for Enhancing Life Skills Powered by Wellnesswise.in, an engaging workshop on ‘Understanding Emotions’ for the facilitators of the Middle and Senior Wing,  BDBBPS was organised. The esteemed resource person for the invigorating workshop was Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS, supported by the Health & Wellness Resource Center Team. The workshop aimed to reshape how educators perceive and manage emotions, both in themselves and their students.

Dr. Saxena emphasized how emotions influence both physical and mental well-being, underscoring the importance of emotional awareness and regulation.  The participants were made to understand the impact of emotions through hands-on activities such as role-plays, reflections, and creating meaningful jingles.

This initiative reflects Dr. Saxena's ongoing commitment to designing high-quality workshops that enhance teachers' capacities. The session provided fresh perspectives on socio-emotional wellbeing, leaving a lasting impact on attendees, who found the experience deeply enriching.

The faculty described the workshop as insightful and highly beneficial.
