WORKSHOP ON E-GOVERNANCE AND CYBER SAFTEY AT Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, SECTOR10, GURGAON

The school celebrated Vigilance Week from November 3 to November 5, 2016 wherein various activities were designed to sensitize students on how to combat the menace of corruption.

According to the directives of CBSE and under the aegis of GPSC, the school organized an informative Workshop for the students of Classes IX to XII as well as parents on November 5, 2016 which gave  a befitting close to the celebration . The topic which was taken along with Cyber Safety was E-Governance as an effective tool to curb corruption. The focus of the workshop was a step in the right direction to foster the spirit of enquiry and critical thinking among the gen-now using the tool of technology. This was a unique way to instill values and knowledge in the students and also  to sensitize the parents on creating a Cyber Safe World..

 Mr. Rakshit Tondon , advisor to Cyber Crime Unit of Uttar Pradesh at Agra and Lecturer at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Police Academy, Moradabad, UP & Haryana Police Academy, was the  Guest Speaker for the sessions . Sir has whole heartedly dedicated himself for the SAFE SURFING CAMPAIGN.  Ms. Anshuka Aneja , Assistant Director (IT) graced the occasion as the revered guest.

Sir enlightened everyone on E-procurement, a part of a series on e-commerce, fundamental in business-to-business or business-to-consumer purchase and sale of supplies, work, and services through the Internet. It helps in catering services in the category of e-books, software and streaming media. It is being increasingly used for achieving increased efficiency and cost savings in government procurement and improved transparency in procurement services. E-taxation is a broadly developing field of e-government.It facilitates payment of direct taxes online by taxpayers. It involves the simplification and integration of taxation processes by using information and communication technology. It assists in effectiveness of government strategies and aids in making them more transparent and efficient.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rakshit Tandon, Guest Speaker, apprised the students about the important role of technology in helping to provide transparency, access and accountability at various levels which will be strengthening the system by making it efficient. He also praised the effort of the Schools Cyber Congress team to sensitize the students and warn them against various Cyber Crimes. He acknowledged  and wholeheartedly applauded the effort.

HARYANA SWARN JAYANTI CELEBRATION

One of the many festivals that keep the state of Haryana in a festive spirit almost all the time is the Haryana Festival in Haryana. This festival is celebrated to commemorate the day when the state of Haryana was carved out of Punjab in 1966. This year in 2016, the 50th Haryana Day was be celebrated all over the state on 1st November.
 A major celebration to mark the occasion of  Haryanas Golden Jubilee year of existence was organized in Tau Devi Lal Stadium on November 1, 2016. Sixteen  artists turned the outer wall of Tau Devi Lal Stadium , the venue of the celebration into a 12,000 sqft canvas .  PM Narendra Modi was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The official logo for the golden jubilee celebrations featured Gita ka sandesh, the theme of the artwork was also mostly on the Krishna-Arjun samvaad. But along with that, you can also find Hario - the Haryana version of the popular video game Mario - and a Ninja turtle sweeping the roads.
There was also a series of dance dramas showcasing Haryanas progress - from a completely agriculture-centric state 50 years ago to a state that has Gurgaon, the corporate hub - and how the state has a mix of urban and rural. Forty eight students of the school were selected to be the part of this cultural extravaganza and got a golden opportunity to perform in front of Honourable PM , Mr. Narendra Modi and Chief Ministers of several states of India . The students also got the opportunity to meet sports persons in  Pride of Haryana section that featured the  faces of famous Haryanvis like Vijender Singh, Sushil Kumar, Sakshi Malik, Virender Sehwag, Kalpana Chawla, Sir Chhotu Ram, Randeep Hooda and Sonu Nigam.

TALK SHOW-EDIBLE PARTS OF PLANTS

                                     

The school  focuses on the holistic development of the students  and for this creative channelization of their energy is deemed essential . To provide an  exposure to stage and make learning a fun-filled experience a Talk Show on “EDIBLE PARTS OF THE PLANT” was organized  for the students of LKG on October 27, 2016. In this event students prepared their content  on the topic  & were dressed up in props depicting the various parts of plants like seed, root, stem, leaf and flower.
The students were explained the different edible parts of plants which they can eat such as:
•    Roots: Sugarcane, Spring onion
•    Seeds: Beans, Peas
•    Fruits: Apple, Strawberry
All the students enthusiastically participated in the activity and practically learnt the parts of the plant in a play way method.

Diwali My Box of Happiness

Diwali – My Box of Happiness
From darkness to the light that empowers us to commit ourselves to good deeds, that which brings us closer to divinity; lights illuminate every corner of India during Diwali and the scent of incense sticks hang in the air, mingled with the sounds of fire-crackers, joy, togetherness and hope.
The celebration of Diwali- The festival of lights came alive at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, Gurgaon on  October  25 & 26, 2016 with the Special Assembly conducted by Classes Nur-UKG & I – V . The School choir  presented a melodious bhajan to begin the assembly on the auspicious occasion. The bhajan brought out the essence of the festival -celebration of life and goodness. The students talked about the significance of the festival - how good always conquered the evil and also about why and how Diwali is celebrated across India.
The students of Nur-UKG presented a song , poem and Nukkad Natak with a message “ Say no to crackers”. The students of Class I presented a play sensitizing students to the ill-effects of crackers and how to celebrate a “Green Diwali”. The students of Class II showcased the spirit of Diwali through a mesmerising “Hasya Kavi Samelan”. Class V students presented a special assembly “My Box of Happiness” where they spread the message of Sharing and Caring as to how we can add happiness in others and our lives by sharing things with the under privileged.
Several activities were also conducted in Class III-V to mark the occasion. Class III students made lanterns using disposable bottles and wool under “Lantern Making” activity. Class IV did an activity “Make My Friend Ganesha” wherein they made Ganesha statues using playdough. A special inter-house activity “Mosaic of Festivities” was conducted for students of Class V, where they made a Ganesha Painting using Mosaic technique. All these were displayed during the assembly presentations.

“THE SCIENTIST IN ME”- INNOVATION AND EXPLORATION AT ITS BEST

To commemorate the  birth anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam , Annual Science Fest “The Scientist In Me” was organized by the Primary Wing of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School on October 22, 2016 with a view to encourage and inculcate the scientific aptitude amongst the students. The budding scientists of the primary wing presented many creative ideas as exhibits. The imprints of the budding scientists could be found in young Faradays, Newtons and Edisons who wished to concretize their dreams to reality.  The participatory exhibits form Class III - V comprised of innovative working models and investigation based projects alongwith science experiments. Class I & II students carried forward the idea of  “3 Rs” and reused discarded pet jars as planters and grew herbal plants in them. Students also presented Power Point Presentations on the Life and achievements of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam ,Solar Energy and Organic Farming.
The objective of the Science Exhibition was to provide a forum for children to pursue their natural curiosity and inventiveness to quench their thirst for creativity;to make children feel that science is all around us and we can gain knowledge as well as solve many problems also by relating the learning process to the physical and social environment;to lay emphasis on the development of science and technology as a major instrument for achieving goals of self-reliance and socio-economic and socio-ecological development;to highlight the role of science and technology for producing good quality and environmental friendly materials for the use of society and to encourage children to visualise future of the nation and help them become sensitive and responsible citizens;
After several weeks of hard work on the part of the participants, the Science exhibition turned out to be a tremendous success. The exhibition was attended by parents of the Primary Wing students. They were very impressed by the presentations and applauded the “Innovator” or the “Inventor” in every young scientist.

MY VISIT TO COWSHED (Gaushala)

“Children love to play & learn by outdoor activities. It allows them to explore their environment & gain self confidence.”

We at Blue Bells aim at Theme based learning for the holistic growth of the students. Visit to a cowshed “ Guashala” was one such endeavour  to let the children see cows closely as a part of on-going theme “Lets know Animals” in the Pre-primary Wing.  Students of class L.K.G went to Gaushala, Palam Vihar, Gurgaon on  October14 , 2016. There were around 75 students along with 6 mentors who visited the gaushala. Students got fascinated by seeing so many cows together and enjoyed feeding them.
Students explored and enjoyed looking at various things. Refreshments were given to all the students. It was a fun-filled learning experience for them.

Educational Fied Trip To Parle-G Factory - Class I

 â€œField trips fall into the theory of experiential education because they can help students have an increased ability to apply and practice what they learn.”
Parle-G is one of the oldest biscuit brand in India and largest selling biscuit in the world. The students of Class I of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School had a propitious visit to the Parle Biscuit Factory at Bahadurgarh on October 13, 2016 . The children were very excited on the bus ride from the school to the factory. On entering the premises, the students were taken to the auditorium where they enjoyed a documentary related to the origin of the brand PARLE , its founder and various products manufactured by Parle. Soon after the official took the students to the manufacturing unit, where students got to know about various processes like kneading , mixing , shaping , baking , cooling to the final stage of packing.
The icing on the cake was chips and mango bite toffee they were gifted complimentary before they moved out. Later Students were then made to sit comfortably in the garden where Light snacks were provided to them.
Overall it was an informative , knowledgeable  and memorable trip for the students, The children had many stories to tell when they got home!

DUSSHERA CELEBRATION

“ India is the land of cultural diversity where each and every festival is celebrated with utmost joy.”
India is the land of cultural pluralism where each and every day of the year is celebrated. Celebrations give us an opportunity to share our similarities so that we are able to  celebrate the spirit of life. To update the students about the significance of celebration of Dusshera , the students of Class IX C presented the Assembly showcasing the victory of Good over Evil  on  October 7, 2016. The presentations focused on  that the path of truth always leads to victory and one should always follow the path of wisdom and religion.
The students presented a mesmerizing mime act  to mark the festivity.  They showed the seven pillars of life i.e. Life Long Learning, Spiritual Learning, The Art Of Living , Health and Wellness, Relation Living and  Life Skills etc. Through the mime act the inner conflicts of an individual were beautifully shown along with the realization that all power lies within to combat the challenging situations of  life.  It was a learning experience for all.

DUSSEHRA CELEBRATION

 Festivals are characterized by colour, gaiety, enthusiasm, prayers and rituals.

The tenth day after Navaratri is known as Dussehra. It is the celebration of victory of good over evil. We burn effigies of the demon king Ravana who was vanquished by Lord Ram.

The students of class I , II and III presented a special assembly on Dussehra to celebrate the victory of good over evil on Friday ,October 07, 2016 .

The students started the assembly with the prayer and Gayatri mantra, followed by the school prayer and pledge. A rhythmic English poem was recited by the student of class II. Class I & III presented a lyrical ballet in which they presented a heartwarming rendition of a few scenes from the Ramayana, of the time when Sita was in Ashok Vatika, followed by the victory of God and justice over the evil with the killing of Ravana .

The students came dressed up in traditional dresses and had  wonderful smiles on their faces. they won the heart of the audience by enacting various roles of Sri Ram , Sita , Ravan etc.  The students of class II presented a Nukkad Natak titled “Aaj Ka Ravan” to show the negative and positive side of the society. Class III also presented a talk on prevailing social evils as the present day Ravana. The  assembly closed  with a rendition “ Payo ji maine ram rattan dhan payo” .

INVIGORATING EXCURSION : A TRIP TO KIDZANIA, NOIDA

Educational Tours are very important for the overall development of a student. It gives them an opportunity to learn from their own experiences. The importance of Educational trips includes giving students the chance to build closer bonds with their classmates, experience new environments and enjoy a day away from the classroom. It breaks the monotony of life and fills their mind with joy.
Keeping in view this purpose, the school arranged a trip to KIDZANIA, at Noida on October 6, 2016. 340 students with 16 teachers visited the place. The students left at 8.30 a.m and came back at 6.00p.m
KidZania provides children a unique and very realistic educational environment that allows children to do what comes naturally to them: role-playing by mimicking traditionally adult activities. As in the real world, children perform "jobs" and are either paid for their work (as a fireman, doctor, police officer, journalist, shopkeeper, etc.) or pay to shop or to be entertained. The indoor theme park is a city built for children, complete with buildings, paved streets, vehicles, a functioning economy, and recognizable destinations in the form of "establishments" sponsored and branded by leading multi- national and local brands. While having fun at KidZania, students  also learning socialization skills, mutual cooperation and respect. Their creativity shines, they learn independence, develop decision-making skills and participate with their community – all skills that they will need to succeed as adults.
The enthusiastic students enjoyed the journey to Noida. They reached there at 10.30a.m. All the students were ushered in by the Kidzania staff. The students were given the Kidzania currency, KIDZOS. They immediately became independent adults and started exploring various activities. They picked up  an occupation, learned about their job, donned a uniform, and started  EARNING AND SPENDING KIDZOS...and having fun! They were served lunch at 1.00p.m. The students continued to explore more activities till 3.30p.m
The group left for Gurgaon at 4.00p.m and reached school at around 6.00p.m after a fun filled learning day.
