SPARDHA 2024: A SPECTACULAR ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET AT BDBBPS

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School came alive with energy and excitement on November 30, 2024, and hosted the highly anticipated Annual Athletic Meet, SPARDHA 2024, for students of Classes VI to XII. The event, held on the school grounds, celebrated athleticism, teamwork, and the spirit of sportsmanship.

The day began with the arrival of the esteemed Chief Guest, Air Vice Marshal R.K. Khattri, whose remarkable service to the nation inspired all in attendance. Welcomed warmly by the school’s management, staff, and students, AVM Khattri was joined by Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, the revered Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools. Dr. Gulati declared the event open, following ceremonial torch lighting and a spectacular march-past by the students.

In his address, AVM Khatri lauded the school’s commitment to holistic education and encouraged students to embody values such as discipline, resilience, and teamwork. In his opening remarks, Dr. Trilok Singh Bist, the Principal emphasized the importance of sports in fostering camaraderie and character development. He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to parents for their unconditional support and to the management for their invaluable guidance in making SPARDHA 2024 a success.

The day unfolded with an array of athletic events, including sprints, relays, obstacle races, and team games, showcasing the talent and determination of the participants. Adding to the day’s vibrancy were special activities for parents, such as an engaging tug-of-war, and mesmerizing student performances, including a dynamic yoga display and colourful dance routines that enthralled the audience.

The atmosphere was electric, with parents enthusiastically cheering from the sidelines, creating an environment of encouragement and joy. The sports ground resounded with applause and cheers as students competed with passion, embodying the essence of friendly rivalry.

The event culminated in a grand Prize Distribution Ceremony, where the Chief Guest, along with members of the school management, awarded medals and certificates to the deserving winners. Amid enthusiastic celebrations, CV Raman House was crowned the overall champion, marking a triumphant conclusion to the meet.

As the National Anthem echoed across the grounds, SPARDHA 2024 wrapped up on a high note, leaving behind cherished memories and reinforcing the school’s relentless commitment to nurturing well-rounded and confident individuals.

BDBBPS HOSTS CYBERTRONIX 2024: UNLEASHING DIGITAL HORIZONS

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School proudly hosted Cybertronix 2024, embodying the vision to inspire children to take ownership of their learning journey while promoting a culture of passion, curiosity, and creativity in education.  Under the visionary leadership of Ms. Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director IT, Blue Bells Group of Schools, the school successfully organized this mega Inter-School IT Fest on November 16, 2024. The event served as a dynamic platform to explore the transformative power of technology, empowering the tech-savvy generation to innovate and excel.

The day commenced with a soulful invocation to the Almighty, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The Leadership Team extended a warm and heartfelt welcome, setting an inspiring tone for the day’s celebrations. Ms. Anshuka Aneja officially inaugurated the fest, conveying her best wishes to all participants.

The event was brimming with engaging activities designed to ignite students' technical, creative, critical thinking, and academic abilities. Participants captivated the audience with their exceptional talents in events such as app design, gaming, RAP, MIME, robotics, and photography. All activities were centered around the theme ‘Tech for a Sustainable Future: Innovate, Integrate, Create.’ Enthusiastic participation from prestigious schools across the city added vibrancy to the fest, with each team showcasing its unique flair and ingenuity.

Adding to the grandeur of the event, Dr. Ajai Chowdhry, Padma Bhushan awardee, Co-founder of HCL, and affectionately known as the ‘Father of Indian Software,’ graced the occasion as the esteemed Chief Guest for the Closing Ceremony. In his address, Dr. Chowdhry emphasized the pivotal role of ICT and innovation in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs). He inspired students to collaborate globally in the field of Information Technology and shared his visionary insights on the future of technology, highlighting how Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Virtual Reality (VR) provide valuable knowledge and practical experiences for learners.

The radiant presence of Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Honourable Director, BBGS, further elevated the event's stature. In her address, Dr. Gulati congratulated and encouraged the participating students while commending the school team for the event’s resounding success.

An expert panel of judges, distinguished in their respective fields, faced the challenge of selecting winners from the plethora of remarkable talent on display. The judges and guests lauded the students’ innovative spirit and technical acumen, expressing admiration for their creativity and skills.

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School emerged as the proud recipient of the Overall Winners Trophy, while Blue Bells Model School, Sector 4, Gurugram, secured the Overall Runner-Up position.

UNDERSTANDING PUBERTY: A NEW CHAPTER IN LIFE

‘The sky is full of stars and there is room for each one of them to shine’ The Health & Wellness Programme under ADEPT - A Program for Enhancing Life Skills, Powered by Wellnesswise.in conducts sessions on Understanding Puberty every year with girls of Grades IV & V in BBGS. Life Skills Facilitators, Ms Sapna Sinha, and Ms Prerna Karkhanis conducted the session under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director, (Health & Wellness) BBGS for Grade IV girls from October to November 2024.

The girls were apprised that Puberty is a natural process that prepares them for adulthood. During this period, the body starts producing hormones that trigger physical and emotional changes which can be both challenging and thrilling. Having conversations with elders, family members, and teachers will help them ease their concerns and queries during the onset of puberty. Through an informative video, the girls were given firsthand information on how they can identify the changes happening in their bodies and accept them with grace. Each child was provided an open and safe space to discuss their experiences. The girls were made aware of the importance of having a balanced diet and maintaining personal hygiene so that it would help them sail smoothly through this period of adolescence. The session concluded with an open discussion and also talked about certain dos and don’ts that become imperative and need to be followed.

INTERNATIONAL CONNECT WITH BRAZIL

In today’s world of significant environmental issues, collaboration among young minds across borders is more important than ever. On November 12, 2024, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School in India joined hands with Colégio Positivo in Curitiba, Brazil, in a virtual climate action initiative aimed at promoting sustainability and deepening environmental awareness.

Through this interactive session, students from both nations discussed their unique environmental challenges and shared strategies to combat climate change. While Brazilian students highlighted the critical task of safeguarding the Amazon and curbing deforestation, Indian students spoke about tackling extreme weather events, pollution, and threats to agriculture. Together, they underscored the importance of unity and cooperation in addressing these global issues.

The exchange allowed students to share insights, ask questions, and explore each other’s cultures, creating an enriching experience that broadened their perspectives on sustainability and inspired hope for a greener future.

CHILDRENS DAY CELEBRATION (PRIMARY WING)

‘Children are life’s greatest gift, and their smiles are the most beautiful sights in the world.’

 To celebrate the joy and innocence of childhood, the teachers of Classes Nursery to V organized special assemblies in honour of Children's Day, aiming to create lasting memories and bring smiles to every child.

 The assembly for Nursery to Class II began with an engaging Laughter Yoga session, where both teachers and students shared moments of joy and laughter. Teachers then expressed their warm wishes through a heartfelt song dedicated to the children. A short story with a moral message followed, gently sharing valuable life lessons with young, eager minds.

 For Classes III to V, teachers presented a harmonious medley of songs, filling the atmosphere with joy and warmth. Both assemblies concluded with an energetic dance performance by the teachers, who took to the stage and filled the children’s hearts with happiness.

 The School Leadership Team thanked the teachers for making Children's Day a truly memorable occasion for the students.

Diwali Celebrations Spark Creativity and Environmental Awareness

The joyous Diwali celebrations brought the school to life as students from Nursery to Grade V participated in a variety of lively activities on October 29, 2024.  The halls and classrooms buzzed with excitement as the young Blue Bellians engaged in crafting Diwali-themed items, such as lanterns, decorated diyas, and more.

The students from Grades III to V embraced their culinary side, donning chef’s hats to prepare delicious festive treats like Coconut Bites, Choco Balls, and Stuffed Dates, which they presented with care and creativity.

Further elevating the festive atmosphere, the Inter-house Rangoli Competition focused on the theme, ‘A Greener Diwali, A Brighter Tomorrow.’ Each house designed intricate rangolis that beautifully conveyed the message of sustainability, urging everyone to celebrate Diwali with a green mindset. The competition results were as follows:

• III Position: Kalpana Chawla House and Radha Krishnan House (tie)

These activities offered students a chance to celebrate the festival with enthusiasm, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility toward the environment.

The Grade VI students of the school hosted an engaging special assembly centered on the theme of Diwali on October 29, 2024. The event began with a Ram Stuti, creating a festive atmosphere. A compelling street play (Nukkad Natak) followed, emphasizing the significance of celebrating an eco-friendly Diwali by reducing pollution and supporting sustainability. The young artists effectively delivered this crucial message through their spirited and thought-provoking performances.

The assembly also included dynamic scenes from the Ramayana, illustrating the victory of good over evil. The students presented self-written poems, reflecting their insights into the meaning of Diwali, which added a personal dimension to the event. Meticulously planned, the program highlighted the participants' talents, creativity, and collaborative efforts. The audience remained captivated, and the assembly ended with applause, acknowledging the students' exceptional efforts. The celebration spread the essence of Diwali, fostering environmental awareness and cultural values.

PEER EDUCATOR ACTION PROJECT

COMMITMENT TO CREATING AN ANTI-BULLYING ENVIRONMENT: PEER EDUCATOR ACTION PROJECT

Bullying thrives when left unaddressed. By voicing concerns, taking a stand, and supporting one another, we can shape a world where compassion and respect overshadow cruelty and fear. Awareness is the cornerstone of any successful program and allows us to understand things from multiple perspectives. Under the mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS, the Peer Educators of BBGS launched their Anti-Bullying Action Project. The initiative’s first presentation took place on October 24, 2024, at BDBBPS, Sector 10, Gurugram.

The team was strategically divided into six groups, each consisting of three mentors and seven peer educators, allowing active involvement and student participation in fostering a more inclusive and respectful environment. Each group was assigned topics related to various dimensions of bullying and its impact on all parties involved. Through thorough research, collaborative presentations, and teamwork, the students made meaningful contributions to the ongoing efforts against bullying, promoting a culture of kindness and respect.

Addressing the occasion, Dr. Alka congratulated the team and encouraged the team to carry forward these lessons and embody kindness, empathy, and courage in all aspects of life. Ma’am emphasized that through collective effort, a safer and more supportive environment can be achieved for everyone.

The programme concluded with a thoughtful activity wherein each team created posters and made a conscious effort to celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali and take a step towards a brighter, cleaner future.

INTERNATIONAL CONNECT

International Conference on Global Leadership and Sustainable Future

Braahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School hosted the Philippines and other countries in an "International Conference on Global Leadership and Sustainable Future" on October 25 and 26, 2024.

Mahi and Mannat from Grade XI of the school participated to express their perspectives on the themes of global leadership and sustainability. The event served as a live international platform, facilitating collaboration and discussion among participants from several countries, including India, Croatia, Romania, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Key topics explored included "Daily Consumption of Processed Canned Foods among Students: Unveiling the Hidden Health Risks," "The Role of School Administrators in Implementing Climate Action Initiatives," and "Metrics of Success: Evaluating the Impact of Green Leadership," among others.

Dr. Dary E. Dacanay, Director -Academics at St. Patrick School Inc., and Professor at Manuel L. Quezon University, praised the students for actively engaging with peers from diverse nations on crucial issues of leadership and sustainability. The discussions delved into global leadership concepts, emphasizing the need for leaders with an international perspective to foster cooperation and address shared challenges. Such leadership is vital in advancing a sustainable future by promoting policies that uphold environmental well-being, social equity, and economic resilience.

The enriching conference experience offered valuable insights to the students, exposing them to real-world examples of global leadership, such as international collaborations on climate change, human rights advocacy, and sustainable economic development. This exposure has equipped them to be future global leaders with a profound understanding of sustainable practices on a worldwide level.
