HONING LEADERSHIP SKILLS: INVESTITURE CEREMONY AT Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School , SECTOR 10, GURUGRAM

To inculcate the leadership qualities in students and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, a school cabinet was chosen  and the Investiture Ceremony was held on April 27, 2018 . The Investiture ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested office bearers. Donning the mantle of accountability, they also pledge to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities.

The ceremony was held with  zeal and zest. It commenced with the lighting of the lamp which signified the removal of darkness. Incessant mounting of the flames symbolized the virtues and holiness. The badges to the council members were given by the Ms. Arpita Acharya,  Vice Principal of the school. Prashorya Negi & Linima Phalswal   ,   Head Boy and Head Girl    for the previous Academic Session 2017-18, passed the School Flag to    Kartikey Gulia and Sayantika Biswas  ,the Head Boy and Head Girl for the Academic Session 2018-19  and House Flags to the Captains of all the four Houses . The Health & Wellness Ambassador and Peer Mentor were Sanjeeta Kumar and Irijiya Kalra respectively. The Students’ Council took the pledge to hold the school motto of Loyalty, Truth and Honour in high esteem.

Ms. Arpita Acharya , Vice Principal of the school  congratulated them and apprised  the Council members that  with position comes responsibility towards themselves, their school and peers which further  helps  to achieve heights. The function closed  with the National Anthem.

CYBER SAFETY CAMPAIGN “DIGISAFE IN DIGISPACE”

Ignited minds are the most powerful resource compared to any resource on the earth.  Technological advancements in the world have been possible due to innovative thinking, original concepts, original ideas and a broad vision.   To sensitize the students on the use of the technology tool , the school has initiated a  Cyber Safety Awareness Program under the guidance of   Ms Anshuka  Aneja , Deputy Director , IT (BBGS) .

A special assembly on Cyber Security and Safety Rules “Be Digisafe In Digispace” was organized for the students of Primary Wing on April 27, 2018 by Class VD. A skit “ We are SMART – Safety- Monitor- Ask- Reliable- Tell ” presented  during a Special Assembly aimed at enlightening the students about the Do’s & Don’ts while using Cyber space like various social networking sites and social applications. The students were made aware about the following :-

·        Use internet wisely to gather information if required.

·        Visit websites for information under the supervision and guidance of Parents or Facilitators.

·        Share their ID details like usernames and passwords with their Parents in case they have an E-mail account.

·         Discuss their online activities with Parents about games, if they play any.

·         Follow internet rules. Understand the Age Criteria for Social Sites and avoid creating an account.

·         Use Security Filters.

·         Use proper privacy settings and do not share location and photographs with strangers online.

·          Understand netiquettes. Be careful, responsible and safe Tech users.

A special rendition “Stay Safe on the Internet” was also presented by class V students.  It was quiet an informative assembly well taken by all.

OPEN HOUSE 2018 AT IIT DELHI

IIT Delhi organised “Open House 2018” on April 21, 2018  to kindle the interest of students towards the resources  and researches being carried out at their campus through lectures, displays and demonstrations.

The school team of 59 students from  class  X, XI, XII and four  members of Science Faculty -  Dr Anisha Gupta ,   Mr Praveen Chaudhary, Ms Neha Marwah and Ms Madhu Talwar attended the session . Our students visited various exhibits and saw  demonstrations in field of Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Micro - Electronics, Applied Mechanics and Computer Science. They also visited Avalokan – Exhibition of Assistive Technology for visually impaired by Assistech.

 It was an excellent platform for the students as they came to know about various areas of research in the field of Science. The students have showcased great enthusiasm and curiosity. They interacted with the students of IIT and all their queries were answered.

It was a great learning experience for the school team .

A TRIBUTE TO THE VISIONARY: GREEN DAY  CELEBRATION

“Plant seeds of happiness, hope, success, and love; it will all come back to you in abundance. This is the law of nature.” 

Cherish the natural world because you are a part of it and you depend on it . The school commemorated  the Birth Anniversary of  Shri. B.D. Gulati ji , revered Founder Chairperson, BBGS,  by celebrating Green Day  on  April 20, 2018 with   an earnest attempt  to sensitize the students on the necessity to protect Mother Nature , an endeavour  in sync with Sir’s  vision, idealism and philosophical perspective .

A special morning assembly was  organized where the students presented their vision and  thought on how to conserve the resources for the future generation. It was also to enlighten all with the problems being faced by Mother Earth and alternative ways were suggested to stop the steady degradation of our natural resources. The students paid their tribute to the patriarchal figure of the Blue Bells Family by making a movie on the life and vision of Founder Chairman Sir.

Varied  activities  were organized  to mark the occasion like Inter House Constitution Quiz was organized  for the students of Classes VI-VIII, Inter House Best Out of Waste (Working Model Making Competition ) for Classes XI & XII. The students of Class III-V spread the message of 3R’s through Recycled Craft items like designing greeting cards using dried flowers and leaves. Class IV students made  Mason Jar Luminaries using waste glass jars ( of jams , pickles etc ) . The students of class V made Table mats, Desktop organizer, planters , photoframes with using old magazines. Science Dept conducted Slogan Writing and Poster Making Competition for the students. 

The students of Classes IX & X along with Class V  took out an  AWARENESS DRIVE  with the motive of spreading the message of GO GREEN, CLEAN EARTH & GREEN EARTH  to give a befitting close to the celebration with a commitment of preserving the resources for the future generation. 

COMMUNITY DAY CELEBRATION AT Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School , SECTOR 10, GURUGRAM

We, at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School aim at the holistic development with a firm commitment to “Every Child being a Winner”. It strives for excellence in all avenues and exposes the students to the latest pedagogic and technological innovations.

In sync with the same, the school celebrated CommunityDay under the initiative of NITI Aayog on April 13, 2018 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar .Ms. Arpita Acharya, Vice Principal of the school extended a warm welcome to all the participating schools. Ma’am briefed the august gathering about the ATL initiatives of the school. Various award-winning projects under the flagship of ATL were shared with the schools.

Varied IT Sessions were carried out by ATL students and teachers involving hands on learning opportunities. Around 50 students from Non ATL schools enthusiastically participated in the event. They were given basic prototyping material or DIY kits to expose them to the world of designing, thinking, tinkering and innovation. The officials from Niti Ayog lauded the effort of the school to contribute effectively in meeting with the objective of the event .

INTER-HOUSE STORY BOOK DESIGNING COMPETITION

‘Creation is the manifestation of pervading consciousness. “

Language is an effective medium for the communication of one’s thoughts and ideas, which reflects the purity of one’s innermost soul. To facilitate the quest for knowledge and the spirit of enquiry, various inter-house competitions are organized in the school. In sync with the same , to  sensitize the students about the rich cultural heritage of the country , an  Inter House Story Book Designing Competition was organized for the student of Classes IX to XII on April 13, 2018 . The theme given to the students for the competition was – “ Rich Cultural Heritage of India / Cultural Diversity of India “ to celebrate and mark the importance of harvest festival of Punjab , Baisakhi . Two teams of four students each from a House designed the books after a lot of research and deliberation.

The panel of judges comprised of the members of the English faculty. The entries were of a high standard and it was a difficult decision for the jury to adjudge the winners.

The result of the Competition was :

Ambedkar Jayanti- “Adopt, Enact And Give”

In the words of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar  “Cultivation of mind should be the ultimate aim of human existence.”  Keeping his ideology in mind a special assembly “Adopt, Enact And Give” was presented by Class V B on April 11, 2018 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar.

The highlight was an audio visual insight into the life of the illustrious son of India Dr Ambedkar by the students. Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, popularly called Babasaheb Ambedkar, was one of the architects of the Indian constitution. His efforts to eradicate social evils were remarkable. During the assembly, several students came forward to share interesting facts from the life of Dr. Ambedkar. Next, the students presented a skit on Fundamental Rights and Duties and how we must understand that rights come with responsibility and it is our duty to ensure that we follow certain rules to become responsible citizens of a country.

 Baisakhi is celebrated every year on 13th April as a celebration of harvest and abundance so to mark the festival in its’ full glory the students also presented a resplendent and energetic bhangra that made for a truly spirited stage!

FOUNDER’S DAY CELEBRATION

“God leads us & ignites young mind with creative ideas &

paves the way to usher in a new beginning”.

Institutions are like families. If well ordered, well instructed and well governed, they are the springs from which rush forth steams of national greatness and prosperity. The Blue Bells family takes care of the students in such manner that they grow up to be fruit bearing trees in service of the society and nation at large. With the aim of providing holistic education in the Delhi &NCR region Blue Bells Group extended itself by laying the foundation stone of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School on 25^th October 2001 and the First Academic Session started  on April 10, 2003.

The school celebrated Founder’s Day on  April 10, 2018 to commemorate the Academic Anniversary of the school. The Celebration started for the day commenced with a  auspicious Hawan adorned by the gracious presence of our Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Honourable Director, BBGS. Thereafter, the students presented a small well synchronized and crisp Morning Assembly encompassing the achievements of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School in the last fifteen years  under the radiant leadership of our esteemed Director Ma’am. The Nursery and LKG students came together in the plantation drive and planted various fruits and flower-bearing saplings within their school premises. The youngest members of the family rightly upheld the vision of the school by  conserving the resources for a better future  and  contributing effectively in a meaningful way by  spreading the green cover all around .

Speaking on the occasion, esteemed Director Ma’am congratulated all the members on the Founder’s Day of the school  and wished everyone many more years of accomplishment and achievement. Ma’am  asked all the members to whole heartedly work for the growth of their own self and the  institution at large.

 Explore the Five Senses

With the summer heat soaring, every body needs a refreshing drink. The tiny tots of Class II of the school , got together to watch and learn how lemonade is made. The students learn better when they are actively engaged in the learning process. To incorporate hands-on learning about the Sense Organs , “Lemonade Making” activity was conducted in Class II on April 09, 2018.

The excitement of the children knew no bounds as the facilitators demonstrated to them how lemonade is made. The students followed the instructions and prepared their own lemonade. It was a fun process from beginning to end! The activity was started by asking the students to touch and feel the texture of every element. They were encouraged to describe what they see, smell, taste and feel throughout the whole process .

They enjoyed squeezing lemons with different tools. Everyone had a small bowl to squeeze their lemon into. Each child got a turn with the “squeezers”. They shared their observations with their peers. The students learnt to work in a collaborated manner and prepared a delicious drink. It was a learning  experience for everyone.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

Education is the human right with immense power to transform. On its foundation rest the cornerstones of freedom, democracy & sustainable human development. Blue Bells Family  aims at holistic education of the students catering to an all-round development of the personality. It not only equips today’s youngsters to face every challenge of this techno-savvy world, but also inculcates love for traditional values, cultural heritage and wonderful diverse festivals.  To apprise the parents of the students of Classes IX, X and  XI about the working system of the school, an Orientation Programme was organized on  April 7, 2018. The Orientation was a gateway to apprise all the respected parents about ideology, pedagogy and teaching methodology imparted in the institution. It was also a means to draw attention towards diversified activities blended with academics to equip the students to satisfy the demands of the day.  The faculty members briefed  about the Evaluation & Assessment System, Assessment of Speaking & Listening Skill and Health & Wellness Program which is a prerequisite to holistic growth.  The parents were also updated about the latest ventures of the school to provide a unique learning platform to the students.

The last part of the Programme was an OPEN HOUSE where the parents were invited to put their queries to the faculty members so that they could have right information about the working methodology and psycho-pedagogy of the school. It was an enriching experience for all.
