Kathak Maestro Guru Shovana Narayan Graces BDBBPS with a Mesmerizing Recital Under SPIC MACAY

The soul of Kathak transcends rhythm and movement—it lies in its power to narrate stories and celebrate India's profound cultural legacy. On April 9, 2025, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School had the distinct honour of hosting an exquisite Kathak recital under the esteemed banner of SPIC MACAY, featuring none other than the legendary Guru Shovana Narayan.

Accompanied by an ensemble of accomplished musicians, Guru Shovana Narayan brought to life the divine tales of Bal Krishna and vivid episodes from the Mahabharata, enchanting the audience with her eloquent expressions, precise footwork, and graceful storytelling. Each movement painted a poetic picture, drawing students and faculty alike into a world of timeless beauty and spiritual resonance.

Adding depth to the performance, Guru Shovana Narayan also shared her deep insights into the origins and evolution of Kathak, underscoring its significance as a classical art form and its pivotal role in preserving the cultural fabric of India.

The recital was not only a visual and emotional delight but also a powerful reminder of the richness of Indian heritage. It left an indelible impression on the young minds present, inspiring awe and reverence for the classical arts. Widely praised for its artistic excellence and cultural impact, the event fulfilled its mission of promoting awareness and appreciation for Kathak in the most heartfelt manner.

Awareness about Colon Cancer

Self-discovery begins with awareness—of health, well-being, and proactive care. Under the inspirational leadership of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS, the Health & Wellness Programme remains dedicated to promoting holistic well-being.

In collaboration with Medanta - The Medicity Hospital, Gurugram, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School organised an informative event to raise Awareness about Colorectal Cancer for students of Classes VII to X on April 4, 2025. Specialists from Medanta conducted this experiential session through their innovative “Colon Tunnel on Wheels.”

This mobile exhibition featured interactive displays, anatomical models, and educational materials to help students understand the causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of colorectal cancer. A screening of a specially curated animated video simplified key concepts, and further students enthusiastically took part in the online quiz.

Through such engaging events and health – focused initiatives, students gain vital information that empowers them to adopt healthy lifestyle choices, ensuring their well-being in all aspects of life! We appreciate the support and encouragement of Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, our esteemed Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools in our endeavour to spread awareness about the importance of early detection and prevention of colon cancer. Ma’am’s presence was a testament to her commitment to promoting health &wellness among our community.

Welcome Assembly for Classes VI-IX

To mark the commencement of the academic session 2025–26, the students of Class 12 organized a vibrant and heartfelt welcome assembly for the students of Classes VI to IX on their first day.

The assembly was thoughtfully curated, featuring an inspiring Thought of the Day, a melodious morning prayer, an engaging news update segment, and a self-written poem on the theme ‘New Beginnings’ to spark motivation and optimism. The students of Classes VI to IX enthusiastically participated and appreciated the warm, cheerful start to the new school year.

The Leadership Team also addressed the gathering, encouraging students to aim high and excel. They emphasized the values of perseverance, discipline, and collaboration and extended their best wishes for a successful and enriching academic journey ahead.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME (CLASSES VI-IX)

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School hosted an insightful Orientation Programme for parents of Classes VI to IX on March 29, 2025, reaffirming the vital role of collaboration between parents and educators in shaping young minds. The event provided a platform for meaningful dialogue, ensuring a shared vision for students’ academic and personal growth.

Dr. Trilok Singh Bist, Principal, BDBBPS, emphasised on the importance of active parental engagement in a child’s educational journey. Parents were acquainted with the school’s policies, achievements, and new initiatives, including NCC, Scouts and Guides, and the innovative Metaverse Program. They were also briefed on the school’s code of conduct, emphasizing values, respect, and responsibility, along with a detailed overview of the examination structure and assessment criteria.

To foster a holistic approach to education, the Health and Wellness Programme engaged parents in activities that highlighted the significance of physical and mental well-being. The Learning and Development Department presented tailored strategies aimed at enhancing students' academic growth and skill-building. Additionally, the ICT curriculum and advanced teaching pedagogies were showcased, demonstrating how digital learning tools and smart classrooms empower students with conceptual clarity and an enriched learning experience.

The introduction of class teachers for the new session further strengthened the parent-school connection, promoting an environment of trust and collaboration.

The programme reinforced the collective responsibility of parents and educators in nurturing resilient, well-rounded individuals. By working in unison, we can ignite curiosity, cultivate character, and inspire excellence in every child. The event set a promising tone for the academic year ahead, ensuring a supportive and enriching learning ecosystem for all students.

Orientation Pre-Primary -II

‘Education is a shared responsibility between teachers, parents, and students, and it is through collaboration that excellence is achieved.’

An Orientation Programme was organised for the parents of Classes Playgroup to II in two slots on March 22, 2025, to give them a comprehensive understanding of the school's environment, policies, and pedagogical approach.

The event began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by the Saraswati Vandana, invoking blessings for knowledge and wisdom. A melodious welcome song performed by the choir set a gracious and inviting tone. The parents were accorded a warm welcome by the Principal, Mr. Trilok Singh Bist. Thereafter, they were acquainted with the teaching pedagogy, curriculum, evaluation process, Health and Wellness Programme, IT, safety and security and co-scholastic activities of the school.

The Integrated Thematic Approach, a key element of the teaching pedagogy, was illustrated through the theme ‘Plant World.’ A lively and expressive thematic dance performance highlighted how seamlessly performing arts are woven into the curriculum.

A brief overview of the Health & Well-being (H&W) Programme was shared with parents, highlighting its focus on emotional regulation and positive parenting strategies.To promote self-awareness, a reflective activity was conducted where parents pondered upon how their emotions evolved in different situations. This exercise emphasized the importance of emotional intelligence in parenting. Parents were encouraged to recognize and validate their child’s emotions, guiding them in reframing thoughts to develop healthier emotional responses. Additionally, a handout was provided, summarizing the interconnectedness of a child’s thoughts, feelings and behaviour across various aspects of life—home, school, and friendship. It also outlined key strategies to support children’s emotional well-being effectively at home. This session reinforced the role of parents in nurturing emotional resilience and creating a supportive home environment.

Parents were given an immersive experience of the Metaverse 360 VR Program, allowing them to explore its educational potential firsthand. The setup aimed to familiarize them with the program's approach and provide insights into how it will be introduced for students of Classes I & II in the upcoming session. As part of the school's DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) Programme, a book fair was organised, offering young readers a chance to explore and select their favorite books.

The School Leadership Team thoughtfully addressed all parent queries, ensuring the programme was both engaging and informative.

Empowering Educators: AI in Education Workshops at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School

In a dynamic effort to integrate cutting-edge technology into the teaching-learning process, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School conducted an in-house workshop series on ‘AI in Education’ under the expert guidance of Ms. Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director, IT, BBGS. The initiative aimed to equip educators with AI-driven tools, fostering innovation in lesson planning, student engagement, and digital content creation.

The sessions were taken by the school’s IT faculty—Ms. Anju Luthra, Ms. Sunita Yadav, Ms. Poonam Sharma, Ms. Sarita Dhiman, and Ms. Renu Pahwa, and provided a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience for teachers.

The training began with interactive AI-based activities, allowing educators to explore how AI analyses language, predicts patterns, and recognizes images. This was followed by practical workshops on Gamma AI and prompt engineering, empowering teachers to craft dynamic lesson plans and presentations with enhanced efficiency and creativity.

As the sessions progressed, educators delved into advanced AI applications such as MagicSchool AI and Gemini AI, discovering their capabilities in text and image generation, email automation, and language learning. Additionally, they explored Steve.AI’s intuitive video creation features, enabling them to design engaging, visually appealing educational content effortlessly.

By integrating AI into pedagogy, BDBBPS is preparing its educators for the future of education, ensuring they are well-equipped to inspire, engage, and empower students in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

Orientation Programme for Classes III–V

The Orientation Programme for Classes III–V was held on March 22, 2025, to provide parents with insights into the academic journey planned for the year ahead. The session featured a detailed presentation covering school achievements, curriculum, rules and regulations, assessment parameters, the Learning & Development Centre—The Learning Space, the Health and Wellness Programme, and the IT curriculum.

To strengthened the parent-school partnership through an engaging session conducted by the Health & Wellness Team under the visionary mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS. Parents explored key initiatives of the Health and Wellness Programme and participated in an experiential session on emotional awareness, highlighting the impact of mindful parenting on a child’s well-being. 

To extend this learning, parents received a handout, "Happy Hearts: Understanding Thoughts, Feelings, and Behaviours," as a practical guide to nurturing emotional intelligence. The session concluded with an excerpt from Ma’am’s blog, "World of Emotions," inspiring parents to prioritize emotional literacy in their child’s development.? 

A thematic presentation on ‘Governing Ourselves’ offered a glimpse into the school’s engaging transdisciplinary approach. Parents were introduced to the Metaverse 360 VR Program, which was set up to provide them with an experiential learning experience and to apprise them of how this program will be implemented for students of Classes III-V in the upcoming session. A stall by Vigyantram was also set up to give an idea of the possibilities in the Robotics Programme being offered by the school to students.

Under the DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) Programme of the school, a book fair was organised to give the little reading enthusiasts an opportunity to pick their favourite reads. The School Leadership Team addressed all parent queries with clarity, making the programme both informative and well-received.

WELCOME ASSEMBLY FOR GRADE XI

The new academic session commenced on an inspiring note with a dynamic and uplifting assembly organized by the students of Class XII C on the theme ‘New Vistas,’ extending a heartfelt welcome to the incoming Grade XI students.

The assembly opened with a soulful prayer and the pledge, fostering a spirit of focus and unity. Thought-provoking speeches in Hindi and English highlighted the significance of embracing fresh opportunities with confidence and enthusiasm, leaving the audience motivated for the journey ahead.

A stimulating General Knowledge Quiz infused excitement and engagement, encouraging active participation and a healthy competitive spirit among students.

The Principal, Dr. Trilok Singh Bist, welcomed the students with his encouraging words, inspiring them to strive for excellence in all their pursuits. Ms. Roopali Kudesia, Vice Principal, extended her warm wishes and provided valuable insights into the subjects and Class Teachers, ensuring a smooth transition for the new entrants.

The ‘New Vistas’ assembly set a vibrant and positive tone for the academic year, igniting a sense of purpose, ambition, and optimism among students and staff alike. It was a powerful reminder that each new day brings with it limitless possibilities, fresh aspirations, and the promise of success.

FIRST ASSEMBLY 2025-26

Embracing New Beginnings: An Inspiring Start to the Academic Year

The first day of the new academic session unfolded with energy and enthusiasm as Class XII D led a dynamic morning assembly. The session commenced with the customary opening elements, followed by a heartfelt welcome address by the Vice Principal, Ms. Roopali Kudesia. A soulful devotional song by the students infused the gathering with inspiration and positivity.

A special assembly highlight was an insightful address by alumna Sanjeeta, who shared invaluable strategies for adequate board exam preparation. Emphasizing the power of consistency, time management, and mental well-being, she motivated students to approach their academic journey with confidence and resilience.

Adding to the spirit of encouragement, the Middle Wing Leader, Ms. Madhu Talwar, inspired students to embrace the year ahead with determination, set meaningful goals, and cultivate a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

The assembly concluded on a note of motivation and unity, instilling a sense of purpose and optimism in every student, and paving the way for a fulfilling and successful academic year.

Orientation Day Class-X & XII

            Partnering For Progress:  Orientation Day at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School organized an engaging and insightful Orientation Day for parents of students transitioning to Grades X and XII on March 08, 2025. The session aimed to equip parents with a clear understanding of the academic framework, including the core and skill-based subjects available at these levels. The school also elaborated on the evaluation process, highlighting its role in shaping students’ academic progress and future pathways. Furthermore, the importance of adhering to the school's code of conduct was emphasized, reinforcing values of discipline and accountability.

A notable event segment was an interactive session titled ‘Mind Matters: Encourage Positive Thinking’, led by Ms. Chetna Vashisht, Associate Psychologist from My Peegu, under the aegis of the Health & Wellness Programme.  The session aimed to empower parents with strategies to foster self-esteem, emotional well-being, and long-term success in children. The session provided parents with strategies to support their children’s emotional well-being and resilience, promoting a deeper connection between academic success and mental health.

By integrating academic guidance with a focus on emotional development, the Orientation Day empowered parents to support their children holistically, ensuring a balanced and enriching learning experience during these pivotal years.
