RABINDRANATH TAGORE JAYANTI

The spirit of #RabindranathTagore, a towering figure in Indian literature and culture, was celebrated with fervour and enthusiasm during a special assembly organised by Class XI C on the occasion of Rabindranath Jayanti. The assembly aimed not only to honour the legacy of Tagore but also to inspire the students with his timeless contributions.

 The assembly commenced with a soulful rendition of Tagore's timeless compositions, setting a serene ambiance for the proceedings. Students showcased their talents through recitations of Tagore's poems and performances of his songs, capturing the essence of his literary prowess and musical finesse. The melodic strains of Tagore's compositions resonated throughout the assembly hall, evoking a sense of nostalgia and admiration among the audience.

 Through an insightful speech, the Principal, Dr. Trilok Singh Bist, delved into the profound philosophical underpinnings of Tagore's writings, exploring themes of humanism, spirituality, and the interconnectedness of all beings. The assembly served as a poignant tribute to the literary luminary whose words continue to resonate across generations.

 On the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti, the students of Grade VB presented a Special Assembly to commemorate the 163rd birth anniversary of the esteemed scholar and Nobel Laureate, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on May 8, 2024.

 The students gave a splendid presentation on the life of Gurudev and his significant contributions to the fields of art and literature. They paid a heartfelt tribute to Gurudev through a graceful dance, melodious songs, poem recitations and a captivating role play.

 Tagore's pivotal role in India's freedom struggle, the significance of his iconic call 'Ekla Chalo', the establishment of Shanti Niketan, and his timeless poetry collection, 'Geetanjali' were presented through fascinating presentations. They highlighted Gurudev’s profound impact on literature, poetry, education, and philosophy.

 The School Leadership Team encouraged the students to take inspiration from Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore's life and work and embrace creativity, kindness, and determination in their own journeys.

A WORKSHOP BY BLUE PLANET

The blue planet, 'Earth', calls us to cherish its fragile beauty and protect its future.

 An informative workshop was conducted by *Blue Planet Environmental Solutions India Pvt Ltd* for the students of classes VI to VIII focusing on the *practices to be followed for saving nature powered by Augmented Reality (AR)*. The workshop engaged students with interactive and educational content on crucial environmental themes, including Climate Change, Conscious Consumption & Production, Water Conservation, Biodiversity, etc. Using 3D and 2D models, the concept of the water cycle and pollution were presented as part of the demonstration.

The workshop was beneficial. Students got insights about utilizing AR technology for immersive and experiential learning. The workshop created awareness amongst the students about their surroundings, the actions we need to take and the worthwhile results we will get in return.

WORLD INTELLECTUAL RIGHTS DAY

Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights

To mark the significance of The World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO), the day was celebrated on 29 April 2024 at BDBBPS.

 As we all know, in a globalised world today, protecting our business, literature, and most importantly our traditional knowledge is very important. So, a session was held to bring awareness among students of Classes IX to XII. IPR videos were shown as suggested by the Student Innovation Council, followed by a presentation and a quiz to sensitize students about the need for a balanced approach towards intellectual property protection that takes into account the rights of creators and copyright holders, as well as in the public interest. Types of IP were discussed -Trade Mark, Patents, and Copyrights.

 Overall, the workshop was an insightful and informative event providing attendees with valuable intellectual Property Rights knowledge.

LABOUR DAY CELEBRATION

"Labour Day is a yearly milestone marking the economic and social achievements of workers. It's a day to celebrate the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our communities."

May 01 is celebrated as Labour Day all over the world. It marks the celebration of the hard work and dedication of the working class. The day was celebrated by the students of the Senior Wing Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School through a Special Assembly (by Class XI A). The students made heartfelt efforts to ensure that the day was special for the didis and bhaiyas by organising a host of activities for them. The occasion was graced by the presence of Madam Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director, IT, Blue Bells Group of Schools. The Cyber Council for the Session 2024-25 was declared in her presence. In her address, Ma'am congratulated the members of the Cyber Council and wished the support staff members on Labour Day.

 During the assembly, the students delivered insightful presentations on the history of Labour Day, its global significance, and the evolution of labour rights over time. These presentations were informative and helped raise awareness. The assembly also featured a variety of creative performances, including an informative skit by the members of the Cyber Council- which aimed at making the support staff aware of cyber frauds, interesting games, poems, and songs, highlighting the struggles and achievements of workers. These performances showcased our students' talents and creativity while conveying powerful messages about the value of labour. Members of the support staff also came forward to showcase their talents including singing songs and playing games enthusiastically. They participated in all the events wholeheartedly and thanked the students for the warm gesture of organising this celebration.

 Ms. Preeti Phutela, Senior Wing Leader addressed the students and stated that we must teach our children to have gratitude in heart for those who serve them and this day reminds us to be kind and respectful towards all those who help us daily.

Student-Led Career Conference

A student-led career conference series has been initiated at BDBBPS by the Grade 11 and 12 Psychology students. This series has been organized to instill a mindset within the school that encourages exploration and discovery. It is a process that brings careers and colleges alive for high school students. This conference aims to establish a mechanism and ethos at school that facilitate and outline a process for decision-making in school for students. The conference was attended by Grade 9 students as they are in the phase of making up their minds about stream selection and choosing a career of their choice in the near future. Three presentations were made on the first day of the series. Mannat Kaur and Chirag Yadav of Class XI C presented on the topic of “Careers in Tax Laws”, Rakshita Bhalla and Annette of Class XII B presented on the topic “Careers in Social Media”, whereas Rosenka of Class XII D presented on the topic “Careers in Economics”. The presentations were well-researched and included the introduction, courses, colleges, and job profiles in a particular domain. Students also explained how various careers align with SDGs. An interesting segment named “Time Machine Activity” made students think about how the advent of technology will make a particular career evolve.

 The session was conducted successfully, and the queries of the audience were answered satisfactorily. The upcoming series includes interesting presentations such as a career in criminal psychology, how to prepare for Civil Services Examinations, and careers in dance and movement therapy. Principal Dr. Trilok Singh Bist encouraged the students and appreciated their dedication and innovative spirit. Senior Wing Leader Dr. Preeti Phutela proposed the  Vote of Thanks and motivated the students to keep up the spirit.

EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO HAREDA RENEWABLE ENERGY PARK

The students of Class VI along with two teachers went to HAREDA RENEWABLE ENERGY PARK to experience exhibits on renewable sources of energy and watch short movies on renewable sources of energy. The students found these interactions interesting and informative. The workshop showcased DIY Renewable Energy Models, Art, and Sustainability etc. which aroused curiosity among the students. During their visit of two hours, the children watched an explanatory video on how technology works.

At the end of the session, the doubts of the students were addressed. The children came back to school with happy faces and a sapling each to plant at their home. The motive behind this trip was to increase awareness about renewable energy sources among the students.

WORLD BOOK DAY -MIDDLE WING

World Book Day was celebrated through various activities at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, throughout the week with great fervour and enthusiasm, as students and educators of Middle Wing came together to honor the joy of reading and the power of literature. This week-long celebration aimed to promote literacy, inspire creativity, and foster a lifelong love for books among the participants. Students and teachers gathered to discuss the importance of reading and share their favorite books and authors. Throughout the week, engaging activities were organized to engage participants of all ages and interests. These included activities like Character Carnival where students dressed up as their favorite book characters, brought their literary heroes to life, and added a touch of whimsy to the school environment. They dressed up as characters from the stories of - Cinderella, Snow White, Harry Potter, and many more. Students of Grade VII Designed a Book Cover and suggested an interesting Title to a hand-made book cover designed by them. The book cover demonstrated their comprehension of the books they had read. A unique title and the author’s name were also given on the designed book covers. The celebration's impact was evident in the enthusiasm and excitement generated among students and educators. It was a reminder of the transformative power of literature to educate, inspire, and empower individuals, transcending boundaries and enriching lives.

World Dance Day

INTER-HOUSE DANCE COMPETITION TO CELEBRATE WORLD DANCE DAY

International Dance Day was celebrated at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School with great enthusiasm. To mark the celebration, an Inter-House Dance Competition was organized for Classes VI to VIII on April 29, 2024.

The air buzzed with anticipation as students, teachers, and judges gathered in the Seminar Hall for the much-awaited Inter-House Dance Competition. The competition commenced with an electrifying opening dance. Each of the competing houses—CV Raman, Kalpana Chawla, Radhakrishnan, and Sarojini Naidu—presented unique and mesmerizing Solo and Group Dance performances, leaving the audience spellbound. The participants took the stage with dance forms like contemporary, fusion, hip-hop, jazz, Lavani, Garba, Bhangra, and modern dance styles. Their choreography was dynamic and energetic, captivating the audience with an innovative approach coupled with synchronized     execution.

After much deliberation, the judges announced the results of the Inter-House Dance Competition 2024. All the performances stood out for their cultural richness, artistic expression, and seamless integration of different dance forms. The badge for the winner of the Solo Dance performance was earned by Radhakrishnan House and in the Group Dance Category, Kalpana Chawla House emerged victorious.

Participants from all houses came together to congratulate each other on their outstanding performances. The competition not only showcased the talent of the students but also fostered a sense of community and pride in the school. It was a celebration of creativity, expression, and unity, reminding everyone of the transformative power of dance to inspire, uplift, and unite.
