INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE WITH DOHA, QATAR

In the current era, fostering connections and collaborating with people who share the same aims and aspirations for the world has become extremely important. With this in mind, Brahm Dutt Blue Public School held an international virtual student exchange programme with students from Podar Pearl School, Al Meshaf Campus, Doha, Qatar.

 The exchange aimed to discuss the current climate emergency as part of a green initiative and to explore steps that can be taken to combat it. Students also shared the measures and initiatives their respective schools have implemented to address this issue.

 The students of BDBBPS presented a beautiful presentation, pledged to protect the environment, recited a self-composed poem on solutions to our environmental problems, and performed a song highlighting the importance of individual contributions to protecting our environment. The pupils from Podar Pearl School showcased an impressive presentation on the steps they have taken to make the Earth a better place.

 Solar energy was a key focus in the presentations, reflecting the priorities of both countries. Future initiatives were also discussed. BDBBPS students highlighted the contributions of Solar Man and encouraged the pupils of Podar Pearl to join the Green Movement. Sustainable practices such as exchanging preloved accessories, using steel boxes and cutlery to reduce plastic waste, and wearing wrinkled clothes once a week (WAH: Wrinkles Ach Hain) to reduce carbon footprints were promoted. The principle of AMG (Avoid, Minimize, and Generate) was embraced enthusiastically.

 During the Question and Answer round, scholars asked each other thought-provoking questions. The event concluded with an engaging and interactive quiz hosted by both schools. The key takeaway from the presentations was that the much-needed change today starts with ‘I’, ‘me’, and ‘myself’.

 The meeting was a valuable and informative session for the students, enhancing their abilities and teaching them to foster connections with people from different cultures. An assembly was conducted as a follow-up to the activity in which the prize winners for various competitions including Olympiads, Mother's Day Activities, ETM project and Entrepreneurship Challenge were felicitated.

 Dr. Trilok Singh Bist, Principal, BDBBPS congratulated all the achievers and wished them good luck in their endeavours.

AN ENGAGING SESSION ON SUSTAINABLE COMPUTING AND WEB TECHNOLOGIES

An engaging session was conducted by Assistant Professor Anupriya Sharma from Hindustan Times, an expert in sustainable computing and web technologies, that shed light on the potential harms of social media and electronic gadget usage. She began with interactive discussions on social media usage, eliciting student participation and enthusiasm. Then, delving into the darker side, she revealed startling facts about how our devices constantly track and record our activities, even conversations, and searches we delete. Using examples like Zomato notifications based on spoken cravings, she emphasized how our phones are always listening and tracking us, influencing what we see online through algorithms. Additionally, she highlighted the environmental impact of technology, explaining how server rooms contribute to global warming due to the immense heat generated by processing vast amounts of data. Her insightful session urged students to be mindful of their online activities and consider the broader implications for both personal well-being and the planet. The students felt that they were better equipped and more informed to handle New Age Living after the workshop.

INTERNATIONAL CONNECT WITH PODAR PEARL SCHOOL, QATAR

In today's interconnected world, fostering global connections among students is becoming increasingly important. The advent of technology has made it easier for students to connect with their peers from around the globe, transcending geographical boundaries. Keeping the above objective in view Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, Sector -10, Gurugram had an international connection with Podar Pearl School, Al Meshaf Campus, Doha, Qatar. The connect aimed to discuss the Culture and Heritage of India and Qatar.

 The event started with an introductory session by the students of both schools. A beautiful presentation on Qatar Vision 2030 was presented by the students of Podar Pearl School, Qatar, and Spectacular India, showcased by Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School students.

Students of grade VII participated in the session and discussed the details of Spectacular India and Qatar Vision 2030.

 A question and answer session was conducted towards the end of the session, giving a deeper insight into the exchange. This virtual international connect initiatives offered valuable opportunities for students to engage in cross-cultural learning, collaboration, and networking.

MOTHERS DAY CELEBRATION

‘Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while, but their hearts forever.’

To celebrate and recognise the incredible role of mothers in our lives, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School celebrated Mother’s Day on May 18, 2024. The event aimed to bring mothers together through a series of engaging activities that encouraged teamwork, creativity, and sustainability. The celebration commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial diya and an emotive rendition of a song by the choir. The enthusiastic mothers sported a retro look which added a nostalgic touch to the celebrations.

They actively participated in various activities curated to make the day extra special. The Kho-Kho match was the highlight of the event, as the energetic moms surprised everyone with their agility and enthusiasm. The Eco-friendly Couture Activity was another unique addition to the event wherein moms showcased their creativity and commitment to sustainability by creating dresses from trash. The Jewellery Designing Activity and Bottle Art Activity further showcased the creativity and talent of the mothers.

The celebration ended with a mesmerising dance performance by the little ones, leaving everyone amazed. Mothers were presented with beautiful takeaways to make them feel pampered and appreciated. The School Leadership Team expressed gratitude to all the mothers for their precious time and participation in the event.

The atmosphere filled with warmth and appreciation as Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School celebrated Mothers Day with a special assembly presented by students of Class VIII A on May 14, 2024. The assembly served as a heartfelt tribute to all the mothers in our lives. Students showcased their talents through musical performances, poetry recitation, and a magical dance to pay respect to their mothers. The performances were poignant and moving, capturing the essence of maternal love and sacrifice. The seminar hall resonated with heartfelt melodies, as students sang soulful song celebrating maternal love.

 A theatrical presentation based on Maa Yashoda and her son Krishna was the highlight of the assembly as it brought tears to many eyes as students expressed gratitude for the selfless devotion of their mothers. The drama depicted Maa Yashoda chasing after Krishna with a stick when he's up to mischief to lovingly feed him butter. Those moments highlighted the beautiful and intimate relationship between a mother and her child.

 A touching video montage featuring heartwarming clips of students sharing special moments with their mothers evoked emotions of love, gratitude, and nostalgia among the audience.

Towards the end of the assembly, the winners of the Olympiad of different categories were felicitated with certificates and medals.

 The assembly concluded with a heartfelt closing remark by Madam Madhu Talwar, Middle Wing Leader, Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, who reiterated the importance of honouring and cherishing mothers not just on Mothers Day but every day of the year. She encouraged students to express their love and appreciation for their mothers through small gestures of kindness and gratitude. It was a day of celebration, reflection, and appreciation—a fitting tribute to the remarkable women who enrich our lives with their boundless love and unwavering support.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY (PRIMARY WING)

To provide students with a platform to develop their leadership skills, promote a sense of responsibility, and encourage a spirit of teamwork and integrity, the Investiture Ceremony for the Primary Wing was held on May 17, 2024, at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School.

The ceremony began with the lighting of the Diya, to seek blessings and divine guidance for the endeavours ahead. The young leaders marched into the Seminar Hall to the rhythmic beats of the drum, with a sense of determination and pride. Amidst thunderous applause from their parents and teachers, the newly elected members received badges and sashes from the outgoing council members. The ceremony concluded with the administration of the oath, where the entire Council pledged to fulfill their duties with sincerity. The cultural presentations including a motivational song and captivating dance by the students, infused the atmosphere with energy and enthusiasm.

The School Leadership Team congratulated the newly elected council members and urged them to approach their responsibilities with dedication and integrity.

THE PUBERTY SESSION

‘LET'S EXPLORE PUBERTY’: A SESSION FOR CLASS VII BOYS

Growing up is like experiencing new things, getting changed with time and learning various lessons from life. – Saloni Kshirsagar

Puberty represents a significant phase of transformation for both boys and girls, involving physical, cognitive, emotional, and social changes. Recognising the importance of addressing children's doubts and queries during this period, a captivating session was arranged on May 09, 2024, specifically tailored for Class VII boys. This initiative was developed and conducted under the guidance and inspirational leadership of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools. The session was led by Dr. Sanjay Bhatt, the school Doctor and Mr. Harsh Vashisht, Life Skills Facilitator.

The session aimed to educate the boys about the forthcoming physical, emotional, hormonal, and social transformations during puberty. School Cinema movie 'Let's Talk Puberty' was screened to lay foundation of the topic. They gained a holistic understanding of changes and learned strategies for managing them effectively through adequate sleep, nutrition, and personal hygiene. Concepts such as mood swings and fluctuations in energy levels were also explained comprehensively.

Moreover, the session emphasized the importance of maintaining a balanced diet, staying hydrated, getting enough rest, engaging in outdoor activities, and practicing good hygiene for overall health and well-being. The students received valuable insights into self-care practices that would help them navigate this phase successfully. They were encouraged to openly discuss their concerns, doubts, and feelings with the facilitator without hesitation.

Dr. Bhatt concluded the session by stressing the importance of healthy eating habits and regular physical activity. He urged the students to seek additional support and guidance by initiating conversations with their parents, doctors, teachers, counselors, and the Wing In-charge regarding this crucial stage of their development.

VISIT TO NATIONAL SCIENCE CENTER

40 students and three Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School teachers were invited to the National Science Center (NSC), New Delhi on May 8, 2024.

 NSC organized a Popular Science Lecture cum solar demonstration by Eminent Innovator Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki, IIT Bombay, [Solar Man of India] who is on Energy Swaraj Yatra to undertake urgent climate change challenges. Prof. Solanki spoke on “6 Points Understanding of Climate Change and Corrective Actions”.

 The objective of the talk was to bring teachers/ students and renowned scientists on a common platform so that the students get a chance to interact with the scientists and get the latest information about harnessing Solar Energy efficiently.

A few solar projects were demonstrated which encouraged students that as individuals they can take small steps to save the future. The main takeaway was that every person should have the willingness to bring a change in society and work for it.

Overall, it was a fruitful and enriching session.

SUMMER SPLASH ACTIVITY

The students of the Pre-Primary Wing had a great time enjoying the fun-filled Summer Splash Activity. Decked in vibrant costumes, the tiny tots gleefully splashed and enjoyed immensely. They danced to lively music, creating a vibrant and unforgettable atmosphere.

INTERNATIONAL CONNECT FOR CROSS-CULTURAL INTERACTIONS

 Virtual exchange programs have emerged as innovative platforms for facilitating cross-cultural interactions and promoting mutual learning among participants from diverse backgrounds.

 Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School organized a virtual exchange programme to facilitate meaningful interactions between participants from Grade VIII of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, Gurugram, HamYEol Girls High School, South Korea, and Fangliao Senior High School from Taiwan. The aim of the connect was to facilitate cross-cultural dialogue, and appreciation for diverse cultures, and encourage collaboration and partnership among participants.

 The session started with an introduction and discussion about the hobbies. The participants from all the countries discussed in detail about the physical features of their country. They also discussed the impact of features on the culture, food, dance, and festivals of their countries. Students from BDBBPS played a quiz using quizzes to check their understanding post-connect.

 This virtual international knowledge connect was incredibly enriching as it exposed students to different cultures, physical features, languages, and perspectives, fostering a more global mindset. It also led to lifelong friendships and valuable networking opportunities.
