SCIENCE QUIZ-SCIAMALGAM 2016

“There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children one of these is roots, the other, wings.” In the 21st century educational scenario there has been a paradigm shift in the concept of imparting knowledge as well as teaching-learning process. Blue Bellians perceive   goal, accept challenges and preserve to transform their dreams into the floor of realism. Keeping in mind the fact that the quest and zeal for learning of an individual should never cease, young minds must be imbued with the flame of broadening their scope of enlightening themselves, the students participated in Science Quiz-Sciamalgam 2016 at Raman Munjal Vidya Mandir on August 11, 2016. The students participated in Science Quiz ( Class VI To VIII)  ,  Artistic Blast Newsletter Designing (Class IX-X)  and Model Making Competition (XI-XII). The students of Class IX and X created an Artistic Blast Newsletter and bagged the Third position in the competition which saw the participation from renowned schools of Gurgaon. The Management, Director and Principal of the school applauded the efforts of the students and wished them all luck for the future ventures.  

HARYANA BLOCK LEVEL VOLLEY BALL CHAMPIONSHIP

“ The quality of a persons life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavour…” Education is an integral process which harmonizes book learning with direct life experience and instructs students in the art of living their lives as successful individuals. A sport is the most unifying power that teaches the values of association, bonding, team work and above all sportsmans spirit. In sync with this objective, the school gives equal importance to various games and sports. The students are provided with real life situations where they are required to put the concept learnt on the field into practice. The Under 14 Girls Volley Ball Team participated in the Haryana Block Level  Volley Ball Championship in Nehru Stadium on August 8,2016.  The school team clinched the coveted third Position in the Championship where contestants from renowned schools from Haryana competed for top positions. The Management, Director and Principal of the school congratulated the Volley Ball Team and the  Coach  for the achievement and wished them luck for the State Level of the Championship.

HT PACE INTER SCHOOL QUIZ COMPETITION

“The ultimate victory in competition is derived from the inner satisfaction of knowing that you have done your best------“ Creativity involves stepping into the realm of imagination on a flight of fancy and an act of aesthetic creation is not only a product of toil, sweat and tears, but is also born out of an intense desire to give concrete shape to ones dream.The students of our school participated in an Inter School Quiz Competition organized by The Hindustan Times in New Delhi on  August 8, 2016. The Preliminary Round of the Quiz was a written round and then the students went for the final round . The school also participated in the Inter School Banner Making Competition and it was a proud moment when the Banner of the school clinched  aplace in  the first five banners among the banners of two hundred participating schools. The banner of the school is placed on the portal of HT. The Management and the Director extended their heartiest congratulations to the winning Studetns and Quiz Club facilitators for this remarkable achievement.

HARYANA SCHOOL BLOCK LEVEL SPORTS COMPETITION

We need a spirit of victory, a spirit that will carry us to the rightful place under the sun, a spirit which will recognize that we, are inheritors of proud civilization, are entitle to a rightful place on this planet. The students of the school participated in the Haryana School Block Level Competition on August 5, 2016.  Many renowned schools of Haryana  competed in the Championship. In the Volley Ball Championship, the school Under 17 Girls Team made their alma mater proud by Clinching the First Position and winning their Finals against the tough competitors – DAV School.  Adding to this glorifying achievement was the fact that the Girls Under 19 Volley Ball Team bagged the overall Third Position in the tournament. The Management, Director and Principal of the school congratulated the Volley Ball Coach and the students for their marvelous performance.  

METAMORPHOSIS 2016

  Every child born into the world is a new thought of God, an ever fresh and radiant possibility. Adolescence is a period of transition and change that every teenager has to encounter as he/she  embarks on a process of self-exploration and self-discovery on the verge of adulthood.  Sensitizing the adolescents and empowering them to combat the challenges of tomorrow is the need of the hour. The Health and Wellness Programme of the school under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena , Assistant Director ( Health and Wellness), BBGS, has been actively working on empowering the adolescents with righteous knowledge . The adolescent experience is strongly influenced by parents and peers. In addition, school plays a major part in the psychosocial, intellectual, and vocational development of adolescents. Teachers, curricula, school activities, and school culture all provide raw material that contributes to the adolescents growing sense of self and increasing base of knowledge and skill. In sync with the same objective, the students of the school participated in Metamorphosis- an Inter School Life Skills Competition at Blue Bells Model School on August 1 & 2, 2016. The students participated in Poster Making, Critical Thinking, Street Play and Debate Competitions in Middle and Senior Category. In the Middle Level, the Street Play presented by Classes VI to VIII bagged the First Position and in Critical Thinking , Dhurv Arora of Class VIII D clinched the Second Position. Arpita Agarwal was declared as the Best Interjector in the Senior Level Debate Competition. The level of the competition was  high  as the students of renowned GPSC schools competed for the coveted positions. The Management, Director, Assistant Director (Health and Wellness) and Principal of the school congratulated the Health and Wellness Team and students for the praiseworthy performance and wished them luck for the future ventures.  

NATIONAL SCIENCE CONCOUR

“   The education system should instill in the minds of the students capacities to inquiry, creativity, technology, entrepreneurial and moral leadership.” With the mission of providing holistic education, the students of the school participate in various competitions with utmost zeal and enthusiasm.  The students of the Middle Wing participated in the First Level of National Science Concour in the month of February 2016 , an Online Quiz on scientific concepts and many students qualified for the second level. The second level of the competition was held Online in the month of March & April 2016 , where the students had to prepare and submit the projects. It was open to the students of classes VI  to XI, NSC 2016 witnessed around 3 lakh participants this year and after clearing the first two rounds of the competition, the top 180students have been selected by an expert panel for the coveted SUMMER SCIENCE CAMP. With its aim to cull the best in innovation and learning, the six day science summer camp is free of cost where students will not only get an opportunity to garner their skills guided by the best in the business, they will also learn to share their knowledge and understand the practical application of what they learn theoretically in school. The camp offers a number of exciting activities for students, a blend of fun and science which includes learning about stars and constellations, security systems, spy equipment, forensic tools, robots, rockets, rocks and minerals, flora and fauna all amidst the lap of nature. As the students try their luck as junior scientists, they get an opportunity to rub elbows with the countrys eminent researchers and scientists. The expert panel includes internationally renowned researchers and scientists. Saumya Sinha of Class XI C and Sehajpreet Kaur of Class VII B qualified the Second Round and were among the first fifty toppers from the North Zone. The students will be attending the camp in Nainital from June 21 to June 25, 2016. The Management, Director and Principal of the school extended their felicitations to the Science Faculty and the students for their stupendous success.

STELLAR PERFORMANCE & ACHIEVEMENT BY Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, SECTOR 10, GURGAON AT THE IRC OPEN LEAGUE FINALE  2016 IN SINGAPORE The roots of true achievement lie in the will to become the best that you can become.Ever since its inception, it has been the objective of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, Sector 10, Gurgaon  to raise the bar of excellence in the educational sphere and to cater to the potential possibility of each and every child to mould and shape him into the future leader of tomorrow. In sync with the same objective, the students of the Robotics Club participated in various Robotics Championships nationwide and registered their place in the International chapter of 7th International Robotronics Competition (IRC League)   scheduled to be organised at the Singapore University of Technology and Design on Saturday,  June 4, 2016.  Four of our Robotics Team participated in the Mega Event which was a beehive of technological advancement in the world aiming to encourage/motivate students to innovate and also  to take up careers in Science & Technology.  The Senior team comprising of Guransh Dua , Aakarshak Arora, Navarun Yadav and Yasasvi Gandaas  recreated the magic by  carrying  forward the rich legacy of their Seniors when they lifted the Overall Winners Trophy in the Senior Category at the international version of the game. Almost 60 teams from 10 different countries including India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Singapore and China competed for the topnotch position and renowned schools of India like The Shriram School, Aravali Campus, Blue Bells School, Gurgaon, SMS, Janakpuri, Indus World School, Indore, Jayshree Periwal High School were just some of the schools participating in the competition. The Management, Director, Assistant Director –IT and Principal of the school extended their hearitiest felicitations to the Robotics Team for this emphatic win at the International Version of the Competition.  

MISSION STOP DENGUE

Fight Against This Flight of Mosquitoes. Dengue fever, also known as breakbone fever, is a mosquito-borne infection that causes a severe flu-like illness. There are four different viruses that can cause dengue fever, all of which spread by a certain type of mosquito. Dengue fever can vary from mild to severe; the more severe forms include dengue shock syndrome and dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). Patients who develop the more serious forms of dengue fever usually need to be hospitalized. There are currently no vaccines for dengue fever. The best way to prevent the disease is to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes altogether. Although there is no certain treatment for dengue, it can be treated as long as it is caught before developing into dengue shock syndrome or dengue hemorrhagic fever. In order to sensitize people on the spread of this vector borne disease, 19 students were shortlisted and prepared by the English Department, Hindi Department, Art Department and the Counsellor under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director (Health and Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools. These students participated in an Inter School Competition organized by the Medanta Hospital on May 17, 2016. The students were accorded a warm welcome by Mr. Nishant, representative from Vougeshire and Dr. Sushila Kataria, Assosiate Director, Medenta Division of Internal Medicine. Dr. Kataria personally handed out the “champion” badges to the counsellor and students. The eminent chief guests, ADC Mr. Vinay Pratap, Joint Commisionr Mr. Yadav, CMO Gurgaon, Dr. Naresh Trehan and Master Kautilya Pandit were welcomed and the lighting of the lamp was done. Most of them shared valuable points for the students and schools to follow. They all believed that the students who were present need to act as the ambassador for the campaign “Mission Stop Dengue” to make the dream of “Dengue free Gurgaon” a success. Arya Mishra of class VIII was the first student to provide information on Dengue. She shared that it is spread by the Aedes mosquito and shared some of the symptoms along with preventive measures. She also won a prize for the information that she shared. Another round of questions was contacted and Lavika of class IX won a prize for her answer about how to prevent ourselves from Dengue. The students prepared well on the theme and brought laurels for the alma mater. Hitsha Of Class VII A bagged the First Position in the Poster Making Competition on Prevention of Dengue.  Riya  Sharma of  Class IX A weaved the magic of words and articulated her emotions and expressed vehemently on the topic - “If I would be the health minister what steps will I take for prevention of Dengue”, and her essay was adjudged as the BEST in the Senior Category . It was a proud moment for the school when the renowned jury for Debate selected Sanjana Sanduja of Class XII C as the BEST SPEKAER – FOR THE MOTION in  Debate Competition  on the topic- Prevention of Dengue is the responsibility of Government, not the Individuals. The Management, Director, Assistant Director (Health and Wellness) and Principal of the school congratulated the Health and Wellness Team, English Department and Art Department for preparing the students for the remarkable achievement.

R C GUPTA MATHS COMPETITION

“Mathematics is not about numbers, equations and computations, or algorithms : it is about understanding …” Mathematics is a methodical application of matter. It is so said because the subject makes a man methodical or systematic. Mathematics makes our life orderly and prevents chaos. Certain qualities that are nurtured by mathematics are power of reasoning, creativity, abstract or spatial thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving ability and even effective communication skills. Mathematics is the cradle of all creations, without which the world cannot move an inch. Be it a cook or a farmer, a carpenter or a mechanic, a shopkeeper or a doctor, an engineer or a scientist, a musician or a magician, everyone needs mathematics in their day-to-day life. To hone the analytical, logical and computing skills of the students , the school participated in R.C. GUPTA MATHS COMPETITION in which the students of Classes VI to XI participated with utmost zest and zeal and the results for the same were announced on May13, 2016 . In this National Level Mathematics Competition, the students performed exceeding well and raise the bar of excellence. Shristi Punia of Class X B clinched a Gold Medal and Cash Prize for her astounding performance .The school bagged twelve Silver and nineteen Bronze Medals . Adding a feather to this cap of glory was the recognition of the school as the Best School with maximum medals and awards and a Rolling Trophy was presented to the school for this magnificent effort. The Management, Director and Principal of the school extended their felicitations to the Mathematics Faculty for the praiseworthy performance.

 Information Technology has become an effective medium to unleash ones innate potential and to articulate ones thoughts, feelings and emotions. An inter School IT Fest- TECHELLIGENCE (2016-17) was organized at K.R. Manglam World School on May 6, 2016.
The students expressed their ideas in an effective and highly relevant manner. The competition also provided them with the unique platform to unravel their quest for knowledge in the IT Sector. The students of the Primary Wing of school Aaryan Kalia V-D and Bhuwan Bhardwaj V-A bagged Third Position in the Robocup (Robotics) and brought laurels for the alma mater.  The level of the competition was high as twenty five top schools of Gurgaon & NCR participated in the event. The efforts of the students were applauded by the judges.
