Earth Day Assembly

The Earth never says “NO”, so it’s our time to take up the cudgels for her.

Touch the earth, feel the earth, her plains, her valleys, her hills, and her seas; rest your spirit in her solitary places.  Enjoy the calmness and solitude.

A special assembly was organised by Class VB on the theme ‘Our Bountiful Earth’ for the students of the Primary Wing on April 17, 2019. The assembly aimed at making the students realize all the gifts the earth has made available to us. Through a remarkable poem presentation, students showcased the journey of the earth right from its inception to the present day and what changes it has gone through during this time period. A well designed PPT added a spark to the presentation as it showed that how green and blue were the prime colours of the earth and how these two colours are fading in the present time. Children presented a soulful song on understanding duties towards Mother Earth as responsible citizens.

The presentation concluded with a message that the earth has blessed each and every human with innumerable gifts without any discrimination. So, the responsibility of taking care of the earth should be taken by everyone and should not be left to just a handful of people.

Blue Bellians are sharp, confident and highly focused. They bring laurels for school where ever they go. Swaroop Kukade of class IV brought laurels for school in the 24^th Haryana State Under 13 FIDE Rated Chess Championship organised by the District Chess Association, Gurgaon under the aegis of the Haryana Chess Association and secured 9^th position in under 13 category and 2^nd position in under 9 Boys category. The event was held at Meenakshi Public School, Gurugram. Swaroop’s achievement was applauded by one and all in the assembly.

Appreciation Certificates for the Green Day Activities were also given to the top three participants of each class to acknowledge their creative work.

Pre-Primary Paints Pleasure

We all know how important it is for a child to have a perfect ‘Eye-Hand Co-ordination’. We in Blue Bells happily go extra mile to carve a balanced personality of every individual. Recently ‘Hand Impression Activity’ was organized for the students of LKG class and the students enjoyed it the fullest. The children splattered their hands with different colour paints-red,blue,green,yellow from the palette and printed  the impressions of their hands on the coloured sheets. It goes without saying that the whole activity was performed under the watchful eyes of the facilitators who guided them as and when it was necessary. The whole activity lasted for 40 minutes and charged the students positively and successfully.

STUDY SKILLS FOR CLASS XI

An interactive session on Study Skills was conducted for students of Class XI on April 11, 2019. The theme for this module emerged due to concerns shared by the students due to the change in studies witnessed by them as they enter class XI. Understanding this need of the students and to help them deal with the changes in the study pattern, a module was prepared by the Health & Wellness Resource Center under the skillful guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS.

Ms. Shreya Kumar, School Counsellor conducted the session which witnessed enthusiastic participation of the students.

As Class XI forms a solid foundation for Class XII, therefore, the beginning of new academic session was the most appropriate time to discuss certain important study skills. The session focused on the importance of being organized, making notes, enhancing academic skills along with various helpful techniques which the students can use to plan, study and prepare themselves throughout the year.

A befitting close to the session was the discussion on the importance of a study friendly environment where prominence was given on understanding their pattern of studying, focusing on their learning styles and following a healthy lifestyle.

Blue Bells Celebrates Founder’s Day

Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School’s Founder’s Day celebration was anything but ordinary. Founder’s Day on Wednesday, the 10th of April represented years of history compacted into a ceremony that lasted for two hours. It is precisely the fact that Founder’s Day instills in every Blue Bellian, past and present, a strong sense of belonging to a wider community that makes it special. It is worth expressing gratitude for our Mentor, Philosopher and Guide Late Sh. B.D.Gulati Ji who laid the basis for us to be regarded as one of the best schools of Gurgaon.

There is no doubt that 'Protecting our environment is the need of the hour’ and to sensitize students towards the need, tree plantation drive was organized in the school. The tiny tots of the Pre Primary Wing came together in the plantation drive and planted various fruits and flower-bearing saplings within the school premises. A special patch was created in the backyard of the school where the little ones planted the saplings and watered them. They also took the pledge of planting more and more trees in future. The story telling session was organized for the classes I and II with creative gestures and puppets.The enthusiasm of Primary wing needs special mention who made best out of waste, wrote slogans on ‘The Greener, the Better’ and made informative posters on ‘The way towards the Greener Earth’. The middle wing of the school celebrated the day with an Art competition on the topic ‘My Vision For My School.’

The senior students organised a rally on this occasion to sensitize the society to utilize the natural resources judiciously. At the end ‘Hawan’ was performed and our revered Director Dr.Saroj Suman Gulati explained to the students the significance and scientific aspect of ‘Hawan’. It was really heartening to see that the vision of our Founder Chairperson to have a greener Earth is still alive and echoes in every Blue Bellian.

Astronomy Session

Blue Bells Scales High

Gone are the days when Science was limited to the four walls of classrooms and laboratories. Blue Bells believes ‘Learning by doing’ is the best way to reach to the core of any subject and that too play-way manner. Recently an Astronomy workshop was organised in Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School on ‘Hydro Rocketry’ to make students understand Rockets as space vehicles and how they function. Firstly the students were introduced to the concept of rockets and their functioning .Afterwards ‘Hydro Rockets’ were shown to them. Finally a Hydro Rocket was launched from the school playground to demonstrate its ability to fly aloft. The students were amused to see how Hydro Rockets soar high. Then the Blue Bellians themselves designed, constructed hydro Rockets using plastic soft-drinks bottles, cardboards and glue etc. and even successfully launched them using self-made wooden launchers. Their excitement knew no bounds to compete among themselves. The workshop lasted for two hours .At the end the students were given ‘Rocket Scientists Badges, Educational Resource Hand outs and Space Explorer Certificates. All in all it was an interesting and informative workshop which students enjoyed to the fullest.

                                    Primary Hails the Session with Kick Start

Festivals rejuvenate us, add hue to life and foster the feeling of unity, love and brotherhood.

Learning from the festivals, the students of all the sections of Class V of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School organized the first assembly- ‘Hopes on the Rise’ for Classes III-V. The students splendidly brought out the lessons of unity and team spirit from different festivals through a skit. They also took inspiration from a rainbow whose all the colours act together to form a vibrant band. During the assembly, the confidence, energy and stage presence of the students was really praiseworthy.The Primary Wing In-Charge-Ms. Rima Gaekwad congratulated the students for presenting an excellent show and wished everyone a grand year ahead.

The assembly was further embellished by giving awards to the students. Gold, silver and bronze medal winners of English Olympiad were felicitated. The winners from the classes IV and V were awarded with school bags by BY JU’s for being class toppers in Discovery League Round. The assembly lasted for one hour and finally concluded with National Anthem.

Well begun is half done

Blue Bells believes that success is ongoing journey. One successful academic session calls for another and the same spirit echoed in the seminar Hall when Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School organised its first School assembly for the session 2019-2020 on April 2,2019. The Vice-Principal welcomed the students and congratulated them for their hard work which resulted in their sparkling success. In her short but effective speech she explained the students ‘The role of discipline in achieving success’. The students were briefed about the current affairs and budding speakers of Blue Bells gave food for thoughts to the patient listeners. Afterwards the winners of Byju competition were felicitated with awards. The assembly concluded with National Anthem.

ORIENTATION PROGRAM AT Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, SECTOR 10, GURGAON

Rightly it is said that the foundation of golden future is laid today. Blue Bells believes that Parents do play pivotal role in the all round development of students. In order to apprise them about upcoming challenges, the teaching methodology, psycho-pedagogy and working methodology of the school, an Orientation Program was organized on March 30, 2019 for the Classes IX and X. It was really heartening to see that the parents turned up in large number. The facilitators briefed the parents about the latest CBSE updates including changes in the pattern of evaluation of both scholastic and co-scholastic subjects, integrated and thematic planning in various subjects along with Health & Wellness Program. They patiently listened to the expectations of the teachers and welcomed the valuable suggestions and tips given by the faculty. Afterwards their doubts and queries were taken up by the teachers. The session lasted for 90 minutes.

All in all it was really a fulfilling and enriching experience for them .At the end of the session, they expressed their gratitude and promised their unconditional support for the wholesome transformation of their children to become self-motivated learners and enthusiastic citizens.

At Blue Bells, a child -centric environment is provided to give a platform to the students to think, express, and exhibit their skills. With the objective to give an overview of the School to the parents and to introduce them to the academic environment which their child will experience, the School organised the Orientation Programme for the new parent members of the Pre-Primary Wing and also parents of Classes I & II on March 23, 2019.

The parents were accorded a Formal Welcome by Ms. Rima Gaekwad, Primary Wing Incharge. Thereafter, Ms. Arpita Acharya,Vice Principal briefed the parents about the various Safety and Security measures in school to provide a safe learning ambience to the students.

Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academic Development and Innovation, Blue Bells Group of Schools graced the occasion and extended a warm welcome to the parents on the behalf of Blue Bells family. Ma’am appreciated and thanked the parents for taking out time from their schedule to be a part of the Orientation Programme. She promised a committed involvement of the school towards the holistic growth and development of their child.

The programme was a gateway to apprise the parents about the working of the school. The Learning Space –Research and Development Department is engaged in continuous research for incorporating the latest teaching pedagogies and technologies. The parents were acquainted with the varied workshops and Gallery Walks which were organized in house along with the pedagogy adopted by the school to bring in innovative practices to enhance the teaching learning process. Back to School Series is a pioneering initiative wherein real class room situation is created to apprise the parents about Teaching-Learning processes.

General guidelines were also given to the parents regarding the School website, ERP,I-cards, SMS and E-Mailetc. Other topics were also covered like time management, moral values, PTMs, DEAR period, Thots, Circle Time, Life Skills, Computer Education and Health and Nutrition. The parents were also apprised of transport,punctuality and discipline.

Ms. Priyanka Chaturvedi, Value Education Facilitator presented an overview about the Health & Wellness Programme spearheaded by Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS. She apprised the parents about Medical Care, Value Education, School Cinema, Group Work, Workshops for Parents, Teacher Empowerment Programme, Individual counselling and so on. Ms. Shreya Kumar, School Counsellor shared some points with the parents to acquaint them with effective parenting tips to prepare their child for school by fostering Social & Emotional Skills, Vocabulary enrichment for communication, Routine Setting, preparing a healthy and handy snack and many more.

The session served as an extremely fruitful platform for sharing and discussing issues related to a growing child which eased the obvious anxiety of parents during this important educational transition. All the parents were highly appreciative of the well-organized Orientation Programme and the panoramic display content of Nursery and LKG learning.The class set up was beautifully done and thematic progression was astutely explained by the teachers.

A helpdesk and transport desk were also set up for parents to further help them with the information about school operations.

A NEW BEGINNING : ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR CLASSES III -V AND VI-VIII

With the aim of initiating a harmonious learning process and to familiarize parents with the institutional ethos,  the School organized an Orientation Programme for the parents of students from Classes III to V and VI to VIII on  March 23, 2019.  The Orientation Programme was taken up slot wise by the  Class Teachers . The event embodied several interactive  activities that helped parents in getting an insight about the curriculum, teaching methodology, psycho-pedagogy and working methodology of the school.

The faculty members apprised the parents about the concept of Integrated Teaching Methodology, Evaluation and Assessment in Classes III to V along with the activities conducted in various subjects as a part of transdisciplinary approach in  teaching learning sessions. 

In Classes  VI to VIII , the facilitators  briefed the parents on the latest CBSE updates including changes in the pattern of evaluation of both scholastic and co-scholastic subjects, integrated and thematic planning in various subjects along with Health & Wellness Programme. The felicitators provided all the information deemed essential for the proper growth of the students to their parents so that the communication channel is open and the bond between the school and the parents is strengthened.

The members reiterated the need for the constant support of the parents to achieve milestones as a strong unionization of teachers and parents would ensure wholesome transformation of children to confident, inquisitive, self-motivated learners and enthusiastic citizens who would face the world with confidence.
