WORLD BOOK DAY

The World Book Day celebration at the Senior Wing of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School was filled with enthusiasm, creativity, and a deep appreciation for literature. Students from Classes IX to XII participated wholeheartedly in the initiative to share their favourite books and engage in thoughtful discussions about the power of storytelling.

The event was a testament to the power of storytelling and the transformative impact of literature on young minds. By coming together to share their passion for reading and learning from each other, students reaffirmed the importance of books as vehicles for knowledge, empathy, and imagination. As we continue to celebrate reading as a hobby and a skill, we look forward to inspiring future generations of readers and writers through such activities.

 As part of our ongoing efforts to provide environmental awareness and to inculcate sustainable practices, the students of Class VIII were taken to HAREDA RENEWABLE ENERGY PARK to acquaint them with renewable sources of energy and their significance in addressing environmental challenges.

 During the visit, they got the opportunity to explore various renewable energy technologies, including solar power, wind energy, and waste-to-energy, through hands-on activities and demonstrations. They also watched some informative short movies on alternative methods of electricity generation.

 The students also enjoyed the best out of the waste workshop where they prepared Photo frames and wall hangings using newspaper. It was an engaging and immersive learning experience for students.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

We do not need magic to change the world; we carry all the power we need inside ourselves already.

 The Earth Day celebration at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School was a resounding success. Students of classes VI to VIII came together to promote environmental awareness and sustainability through a series of well-planned activities. The activities were designed to educate and engage participants in protecting our planet keeping in mind Sustainable Development Goals.

 To spread awareness on SDG 13- Climate Action, SDG 7 - Affordable and Clean Energy & SDG 4- Quality Education, Students of Class VI designed beautiful POSTERS using their vivid imagination. VII Graders worked enthusiastically in making creative and stunning nature-themed BOOKMARKS using recycled materials on SDG 13 - Climate Action and SDG 7 - Affordable & Clean Energy. A PAPER BAG-making activity on SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production was conducted in class VIII to spread awareness about the threat caused by plastic bags to the environment. Our young artists experimented with different shades of colours to flaunt their artistic imagination.

 The celebration was meaningful and impactful. It fostered a sense of environmental stewardship among students. By raising awareness and inspiring action, the Earth Day Celebration contributed to building a more sustainable future for our planet.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

‘Protecting and nurturing our planet Earth is the best we can do for it and for us.’

 In alignment with the theme for Earth Day 2024, ‘Planet vs. Plastics’, the students of Classes I to V showcased their dedication towards Mother Earth through engaging activities.

 The students of Classes I and II expressed their gratitude to the planet by creating beautiful posters carrying important messages about environmental care. A Special Assembly was organised by the students of Class V C on April 22, 2024. The assembly carried an important message that collective efforts and small actions can lead to a positive change toward the betterment of our wonderful planet.

 Along with the regular features of the assembly, students presented a beautiful song that showcased their commitment to following environment-friendly practices in their daily lives. It was followed by a thought-provoking mime presentation that highlighted the importance of being mindful of our actions and their impact on the planet. A scintillating theme-based dance performance added more meaning to the celebration.

 The School Leadership Team, in an interactive session with students, discussed strategies to reduce plastic waste and contribute positively towards making the planet a better place to live in for everyone.

SHRI B.D.GULATI INTER-SCHOOL TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT

CELEBRATING YOUNG TALENT AT INTER-SCHOOL TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT

Shri Brahm Dutt Gulati Memorial Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament, under the aegis of GPSC, brought together 20 schools from the region to compete in four age categories: Under 12, Under 14, Under 17, and Under 19. Held at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School on April 19 and 20, 2024, the event showcased the talent and sportsmanship of young Table Tennis players from 20 different schools across Delhi-NCR. The tournament is particularly significant as it is conducted every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Founder Chairperson, Shri B.D. Gulati Ji, whose vision and dedication continue to inspire us all.

The Opening and Closing Ceremonies were graced by the presence of Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director,  Blue Bells Group of Schools, as the esteemed Chief Guest. Her inspiring words encouraged the participants and added to the excitement of the event. The tournament featured intense competition across all age categories, with players demonstrating exceptional skill and determination on the table. Each school fielded teams in multiple categories, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition among participants.

WORLD HERITAGE DAY CELEBRATION

‘Our heritage, a symbol of identity and pride, is a bridge between the past and the future’

World Heritage Day was celebrated by the students of Classes Nursery to V on April 18, 2024, to commemorate and explore India's rich historical and cultural legacy.

 The students of Grades Nursery to UKG came dressed up in vibrant traditional attires from different states of India and had a fun time relishing the delicious food items of those states. The students of Classes I and II showcased their artistic talents by creating captivating posters using the Mandala and Warli art forms. It was followed by an engaging group discussion wherein the young minds brainstormed innovative ways to promote and safeguard these invaluable treasures for generations to come.

An interesting quiz was conducted for the students of Classes III to V on some of India's most significant monuments. Students enthusiastically participated in the quiz and showcased their sound knowledge of the country's renowned architectural wonders. The active participation of students and keen interest in learning about the treasure trove of our past was truly commendable.

The Academic Prize Distribution Ceremony was organised at BDBBPS on April 13, 2024 to felicitate the Academic Achievers of Classes VI to IX and XI. It was a memorable occasion for the achievers and their parents as awards were presented to commend their excellence in academics. The students with 100 percent attendance throughout the academic year were also recognised and felicitated.

The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome to students, parents, and esteemed guests by Dr. Trilok Singh Bist, Principal, BDBBPS, setting the tone for a morning of celebration and inspiration. Sir delivered a motivational address, emphasizing the value of perseverance, determination, and parental support in achieving academic success. The two Wing Leaders, Ms. Preeti Phutela, the Senior Wing Leader, and Ms. Madhu Talwar, the Middle Wing Leader, also addressed the parents and congratulated the award winners on their success.

The beaming faces of the students and their parents were a testimony to the overwhelming feeling of accomplishment being celebrated at the event. Cultural performances by talented students added a vibrant touch to the event, showcasing their creativity and enhancing the overall atmosphere of celebration. The ceremony concluded with heartfelt gratitude extended to all parents and teachers for their contributions to the student's success.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

STUDENT COUNCIL 2024-25 INDUCTED AT BDBBPS

The Investiture Ceremony, to induct the Student Council of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, was held on April 13, 2024 at Sita Devi Memorial Hall, marking a significant event in the school calendar. The ceremony aimed to formally recognize and confer leadership responsibilities on deserving students from the senior most class, Grade XII, empowering them to uphold the values of integrity, discipline, and excellence.

The Ceremony commenced with a grand procession of the newly appointed student council members, accompanied by school leaders, teachers, and special guests- the members of the previous council. The school band added a sense of grandeur to the occasion as the audience eagerly awaited the formal investiture of responsibilities.

The highlight of the ceremony was the investiture of the student council members, including the School Ambassador, Head Boy, Head Girl, House Captains, and other appointed positions. These students were selected through a rigorous selection process based on their leadership qualities, academic achievements, and contributions to the school.

During the ceremony, the student council members were presented with badges and sashes signifying their respective leadership roles. Following the Badging Ceremony, the newly appointed student leaders took an Oath of office, pledging to uphold the values of honesty, diligence, and inclusivity throughout their tenure. The solemn oath-taking ceremony highlighted their commitment to serving as role models and ambassadors of the school.

The Investiture Ceremony featured speeches and inspirational messages delivered by school leaders and student leaders. They emphasized the significance of leadership, teamwork, and service in shaping responsible individuals and creating a positive school environment.

Dr. Trilok Singh Bist, Principal, BDBBPS emphasised the role of parents in nurturing and supporting the student leaders. Parents were commended for instilling values of responsibility, respect, and resilience in their children, contributing to their personal growth and development as emerging leaders. Ms. Preeti Phutela, the Senior Wing Leader, spoke about the expectations and the roles and responsibilities of the members of the council.

In addition to the formal proceedings, the Investiture Ceremony included cultural performances by students, showcasing their talents in music, dance etc. These performances added a touch of creativity and entertainment to the event, reflecting the diverse talents present within the school.

A sense of pride and optimism filled the air as the newly appointed student council members embarked on their leadership journey with the collective support and blessings of their parents and teachers!

INTERNATIONAL CONNECT WITH TAIWAN

"If you're going to make connections which are innovative... you have to not have the same bag of experiences as everyone else does."

 In an increasingly interconnected world, fostering cultural understanding and collaboration across borders is crucial. Virtual exchange programs have emerged as innovative platforms for facilitating cross-cultural interactions and promoting mutual learning among participants from diverse backgrounds.

 The virtual exchange programme was structured to facilitate meaningful interactions between participants from Middle-wing classes VI-VIII of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, Gurugram, Pingtung Country Fangliao Senior High School, Taiwan, and Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram.

 The aim of the connect was to facilitate cross-cultural dialogue and understanding, foster empathy and appreciation for diverse cultures, encourage collaboration and partnership among participants, provide a platform for exploring similarities and differences, and promote global citizenship and intercultural competence.

The session started where the students of each school introducing themselves, their age, and their hobbies. The participants from Taiwan shared their presentations to discuss their culture and traditions followed by the students of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, where they discussed in detail the languages, history, art forms, weaving forms, culinary details, festivals of India, which was much appreciated by all the participants. A dance video on depicting the Navratri celebrations in India was also shown by the Students of BDBBPS. The participants of Blue Bells Model School shared their presentation on the theme. Teams consisting of participants from different cultural backgrounds worked together on projects addressing global challenges or cultural themes.

 In the end, a question-answer session was conducted between the students where they asked about the cultural differences, languages used, and culinary changes that are seen across the cross borders. The session gave an overwhelming experience to the students and they are looking forward to many such enriching experiences.
