BDBBPS Celebrates Hindi Diwas with Enthusiasm and Creativity:

A Tribute to the Language of Pride

"Respecting the Hindi language is akin to respecting our country, and honouring our country reflects our collective pride."

To celebrate Hindi Diwas, students from the Pre-primary and Primary Wing of the school organized a special prayer day. The event began with Saraswati Vandana. Class 1B students showcased their reverence for the language through poems and speeches on the theme "Hindi is our life - Hindi is our pride." A captivating dance-drama centered around matras enchanted the audience.

The primary students also held an Inter-house Humorous Poetry Competition that filled the room with laughter and applause. In Class III, Khrisha Gupta from Kalpana Chawla House secured the First Prize, Tejas from Sarojini Naidu House won the Second Prize, and Ayansh from Radha Krishnan House clinched the Third Prize. In Class IV, Tejasvi from Kalpana Chawla House achieved First Place, Moira from C V Raman House in Second Place, and Bhavi from Radha Krishnan House in Third Place. For Class V, Naman from C V Raman House came First, Shanaya from Kalpana Chawla House was Second, and Vibhav from Sarojini Naidu House won the Third Position.

Kalpana Chawla House emerged as the Overall Winner, with C V Raman House and Radha Krishnan House following in second and third places, respectively. The students' performances fostered a deep respect and love for Hindi. The program concluded with an emotional dance performance that highlighted the beauty of the Hindi language. The school's leadership lauded the students' efforts, wished them a Happy Hindi Diwas, and encouraged them to read and pronounce Hindi accurately. All students pledged to respect and use pure Hindi.

WORKSHOP ON ANTI-BULLYING AND PEER PRESSURE

"Resist peer pressure and bullying—true strength is in lifting others, not bringing them down."

Creating a safe environment for children, right from their homes to their schools and back is a prime concern for educators today. When we talk about safety, we mean being safe from all kinds of abuse, violence, and psycho-social issues. School is a child's second home, and we at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells are thoroughly committed to creating a safe and healthy environment for students and promoting a secure and supportive learning atmosphere where each one is given the space to learn, grow, and explore.

Recent research in school education indicates that bullying and peer pressure are major issues affecting students' well-being and self-esteem. Therefore, awareness of these challenges and their consequences is crucial. To address this issue of immense importance, an awareness session on Anti-Bullying and Peer Pressure was organized for students of Grades VI to VIII on September 3, 2024, under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools.

With extensive experience in developing and implementing wellness programs, providing counselling services, and conducting workshops for both children and adults, Project Psychologist, Ms. Rupal Arora, from My Peegu conducted the workshop. The  deliberation focused on peer pressure and bullying, highlighting how both direct and subtle influences can lead individuals to adopt behaviors against their will. Two images were used to illustrate the effects of peer pressure and bullying: one showing a boy mocked for his hairstyle, leading to lowered self-esteem, and another depicting group laughter at his expense. The facilitator defined bullying as intentional harm, contrasting it with harmless banter among friends. The "five-second rule" was introduced to differentiate between brief, non-harmful laughter and persistent, judgmental behavior that becomes bullying. She also emphasized on spoken peer pressure and unspoken peer pressure and how they influence us.

A metaphor of a lion (bully), hyenas (supporters), and antelopes (bystanders) was used to describe bullying dynamics. The session concluded by discussing why certain people are targeted and the ones who are targeted are - those who stand out-referred to as the tall poppies, the ones who are passive and the third category are the people who are the accidental ones, get involved accidentally. The resource person further encouraged students to respond to bullying calmly, and assertively, and by seeking adult help. In addition, through different scenarios and situations, the students were reinforced with some strategies that can be incorporated in responding to any sort of bullying. 

The workshop was a sincere effort to create a supportive and respectful community, encouraging kindness, promoting inclusion, and ensuring that every student feels valued and respected.

SCHOOL CINEMA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (SCIFF) 2024

 The Health & Wellness Programme of the school believes that instilling values and life skills in children is the key to their lifelong success. In sync with this philosophy, Value Education and Life Skills have been integrated into the curriculum for Classes I-VIII through School Cinema.

 The school proudly hosted the School Cinema International Film Festival 2024 from August 20 to August 27, 2024, under the aegis of Adept a Program for Enhancing Life Skills powered by Wellnesswise.in and inspirational mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS. The festival, one of the world’s largest children’s film festivals, features over 75 films from more than 20 countries in 15 languages. The event fostered creativity, teamwork, and cultural appreciation, and included an engaging Parents Session and movie screenings for Pre-Primary, Primary, and Middle Wing students. The SCIFF 2024 had a befitting start with a special workshop led by Ms. Samina Mishra for Grade V students, titled 'Understanding the Language of Cinema,' on August 20, 2024. The movies shown to students focused on themes such as friendship, empathy, determination, letting go, time management, caring for animals, respect for teachers, and appreciation. These films helped students reflect on these values and understand their significance in their lives.

The event organized for Parents was a great success. The movies screened for them highlighted their role in the holistic development of their children, emphasizing how as parents each one can influence their child’s growth. It also gave them a deep sense of clarity in empowering their wards to overcome life’s challenges. Parents enjoyed the films and found them relatable, connecting them to their personal experiences with their children and the emotions they felt when their children reached out to them.

The SCIFF 2024 was a powerful platform for reinforcing essential life values in students and fostering meaningful connections between parents and their children. The festival's success reflects the programme's commitment to holistic education and has left an indelible impact on all. We look forward to continuing this tradition and organizing more such enriching events in the future.

GANESH CHATURTHI CELEBRATION (PRIMARY WING)

‘May Lord Ganesha’s blessings bring you happiness as vast as the ocean, wisdom as deep as the sea, and prosperity as endless as the sky.’

 The school celebrated the auspicious festival of Ganesh Chaturthi with great zeal. The students from Nursery to Class II expressed their devotion to Lord Ganesha through a variety of creative arts and crafts activities, including origami, masks, and paper-folding, each representing the deity in his different forms, capturing the festive spirit.

 Class III B students hosted a special assembly, beginning on a spiritual note with the school choir's presentation of Ganesh Vandana and the chanting of Ganesh Shlokas.

 The students passionately shared the significance of the day through a heartfelt speech, followed by an engaging skit that illustrated how Lord Ganesha taught the moon humility, symbolized by its phases. The assembly also featured an impressive dance performance, and prayers were offered to Lord Ganesha amid the joyful chants of ‘Ganpati Bappa Moriya!’

 The School Leadership Team encouraged the students to embrace Lord Ganesha's teachings of humility and wisdom, motivating them to apply these values in their everyday lives.

Ganesh Chaturthi is a reminder that with faith and devotion, every challenge can be overcome and every obstacle transformed into an opportunity. It is a celebration of new beginnings, unity, and the strength found in collective joy and reverence. At Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, the staff came together in an exuberant celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi on September 07, 2024, embracing the festival with immense fervour and devotion. The centrepiece of the celebration was the installation of a magnificently decorated idol of Lord Ganesha, which captivated everyone with its intricate beauty.

The ceremony led with grace by Principal Dr. Trilok Singh Bist, included a heartfelt traditional aarti and prayer. The school reverberated with the soulful echoes of sacred hymns and mantras, enveloping the community in a profound sense of spirituality. This vibrant event not only honoured the festival but also deepened the school's cultural connections and sense of unity.

STUDENT LED CONFERENCE 2024-25

The Second Edition of the Student-Led Conference at Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School was organized for students in grades VI to VIII by 'The Learning Space'—the Learning & Development Department—under the guidance of Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academic Development and Innovation, Blue Bells Group of Schools. The conference, held with great enthusiasm and success on August 24, 2024, featured students presenting their learning journeys, showcasing their achievements, challenges, and goals.

The event provided a platform for students to take ownership of their learning, reflect on their progress, and set future targets. Parents attended their child's presentation, actively engaging in discussions and offering valuable feedback. They expressed pride and admiration for their child's confidence, communication skills, and self-assessment abilities.

The conference reinforced the school's commitment to student-centered learning, empowering students to take charge of their academic journeys. The event's success was evident in the positive feedback from parents, who left with a deeper understanding of their child's educational progress.

A Day of Gratitude: Students Celebrate Teacher's Day with Enthusiasm

 ‘To the world, you may be just a teacher, but to your students, you are a guide, shaping minds and touching hearts every day.’

 A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning. Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact on the lives of their students. It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge. To recognize the passion and dedication teachers bring to shaping young minds, the students of Class UKG held a Special Assembly on September 4, 2024, to celebrate Teacher's Day. The little ones delighted their teachers with a charming song, a lively dance, and a touching poem. They also added a personal touch by giving handmade Thank-You cards and organizing fun games to make the day truly memorable for their teachers.

 In a separate assembly, the students of Radha Krishnan House (Primary Wing) expressed their appreciation with a beautiful song, poem recitations, and entertaining games. Each teacher received a thoughtful card and a chocolate, and the event concluded with an energetic dance performance that highlighted the unique bond between teachers and students.

 The teachers were deeply moved by the students' heartfelt gestures, and the School Leadership Team commended and encouraged the students for their efforts. On the momentous occasion of Teacher’s Day, the Blue Bellians once again proved that they respect, love, and care for their teachers.

Class XII hosted a lively and heartfelt celebration for Teachers Day on September 05, 2024, paying tribute to the dedicated educators of our school. The event featured an array of performances, including poetry recitations, dance, and musical numbers, all aimed at expressing the students' admiration and gratitude. A segment of self-composed poetry conveyed deep respect through eloquent verses, while a high-energy bhangra dance electrified the atmosphere. The musical performances added a harmonious touch, with students singing songs honouring their 'Gurus.' Additionally, the Literary Secretary delivered a speech highlighting teachers' profound impact on students' lives. Personalized titles were also awarded to teachers, recognizing their unique contributions.

The celebration was embellished with the illustrious presence of our esteemed Director, Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, who shared her blessings and inspirational words, enriching the event with her wisdom. Speaking on the occasion, Ma’am commended the teachers' dedication and urged the students to strive for excellence. The event seamlessly blended entertainment with heartfelt appreciation, creating a memorable experience for both teachers and students. It was a true testament to the students' gratitude and respect for their educators, making the occasion particularly special.

ADOLESCENCE WORKSHOP

An Informative Workshop on The Teen Guide-Unlocking the Path to a Positive Adolescence

“Drugs destroy your memory and your self-respect and everything that goes along with your self-esteem.” – Kurt Cobain

Substance abuse involves the harmful use of substances like tobacco, alcohol, illicit drugs, and prescription drug abuse, leading to impairment or distress. To raise awareness among adolescents about the dangers of these substances that jeopardize their futures, an informative workshop on ‘The Teen Guide-Unlocking the Path to a Positive Adolescence’ was organized under the aegis of the Health & Wellness Programme of the school under the inspirational mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS.

The engrossing sessions were conducted on August 12, 2024, for students of Classes IX to XI by Ms Divyangi Mittal, Senior Associate Psychologist at My Peegu. The expert provided a detailed presentation and video on the issue, covering its causes, effects, and prevention. The expert further explored the complexities of teenage behaviour and the factors driving addiction to social media and substances. Key topics included the teenage brain's idealism, critical thinking, risk-taking, personal fables, and imaginary audiences.

The discussion highlighted how peer pressure, fear of missing out (FOMO), and the attraction of new experiences contribute to addictive behaviours. Short-term diversion from reality can lead to harmful long-term consequences for personal development. To counteract these challenges, experts recommended practical strategies: engaging the senses, journaling, listening to music, participating in outdoor activities, and seeking adult support during stressful times.

Each session concluded on a thoughtful note with a pledge to "Say No to Drugs," emphasizing that addressing addiction requires awareness of its impacts and the ability to distinguish between positive and negative thought patterns. The students committed themselves to raising awareness about drugs within their community, family, and friends to help the nation move toward a "Zero Substance Abuse Zone."
